All my app's apart from those already on the phone when i got it do not work.
Cant seem to get any apps to stay open for a second since there update. Any idea's on what to do. I dont want to do a software reset as last time i did that even though i backed everything up it was corrupted when it came to putting all the info back on the phone. Needless say 100 of items lost
FWIW, your experience is not normal at all. Most, including me, never have problems with their backups.
To resolve your apps not working issue, all you need to do is download any free app to resync your iTunes account. Restoring is not needed... a restore (especially as a new device) may work but i'ts way overkill.
Regarding pics, you should be routinely copying/moving them off your iPhone more than every 6 months... it's not a backup device, just like a camera is not a backup device.
You should also be syncing and backing up routinely, i.e. once/week or so, depending on use. If you have problems with that, post specific questions and maybe someone can help.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.

I have a new iPhone 5 with company software from where I work. I backed my old phone before I got this one on iCloud but I cannot figure out to get my stuff onto this phone without erasing the content that was just put on it.
The only way to do so is to start over: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You won't be able to use the backup of your old phone unless you are setting up a new phone.

I'm a law student and I use the preview app extensively for reading cases. I need more highlighter colors aside from those already provided and it seems that there's no possible way of adding/changing the colors.
Unlike Preview, the Adobe Reader application allows you to change PDF highlight (comment) text colors via a standard Apple color chooser. Click Tools on the Reader Toolbar, and then Comment. The second button in the Comment Annotation section is highlight text, and defaults to canary yellow.
Highlight the document text, and then two-finger tap/control-right-click that highlighted text. On the contextual menu, you will see Properties…. The properties panel has a color well set to yellow. Click this color well, and a standard Apple color chooser will appear that allows you more creative control over your highlight color. When you click a color in the color chooser, it is not automatically updated in the color well, which remains dark grey. When you quit the color chooser, the selected color is updated in this color well and in your document. The next text that you select to highlight will receive a default yellow highlight. -
How can I receive all my apps, pics, etc. from iCloud to put on my new iPad?

If you want to restore from your iCloud backup you actually have to erase the device and start all over again - but I think you are aware of that.
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings. That totally wipes the iPad and forces you to start all over again and then you can restore from the iCloud backup when prompted to do so.
Unfortunately you cannot restore this way unless you are connected to WiFi. Cellular will not work, because celluar does not work until the iPad is activated and so you are in a vicious cycle with no way out until you have WiFi.
Can you go to a library or anywhere that has free WiFi - or a friends house - and activate the iPad there? You just have to go somewhere to get an Internet connection via WiFi now. -
after having my mbp upgraded with new m.lion by apple tech service i noticed that applications like iphoto, garageband and imovie are gone
researched online and was told that i had to acess the `purchase` via AppStore where it asks me to log in with Apple ID and password
i used the usual admin login and password and didnt work, also on itunes and icloud the similar case
do i need to register with a separate appleID and password for itunes store, icloud and app store apart from my admin login and password?Just use the same Apple ID and password that you used to access this forum - that's your Apple ID.
The user name and password on your computer has nothing to do with your Apple ID.

Without knowing all of the information we can only guess .... And my guess would be that you did not have the apps selected to sync from iTunes on your computer. If the apps are in iTunes on you computer, select them to sync and sync again.
Connect the iPad and sync again - if you auto sync. Then after the iPad syncs the first time - leave it connected to the computer and select the iPad from the left sidebar under the devices heading. Click on the Apps Tab in iTunes. Select each app (click on the boxes next to the names), then click on the Apply button in the lower right corner of iTunes. Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked as well.
If the apps are not in your iTunes library - if you had never transferred the purchases - you will have to download them again via the purchased tab in the App Store on your iPad. Make sure that you use the same ID to redownload the apps that you used to buy them with. -

for Apps
just launch the App Store App
tap on Purchased at the bottom of the page.
tap on particular Apps you want to download and install..
for other items
launch the Settings App
scroll left pane down a bit, just below Privacy
tap on iCloud
Turn on iCloud sharing for particular items
Contacts, Calendars, Mail, Safari (favorites)
Turn on iCloud sharing on your old devices and your new devices.
Wait 10 or 15 minutes, or so depending on your WiFi network..
You should start to see these shared items appear on your new device..
You can turn iCloud sharing off on your old devices (and new device)
after you are confident enough items have transferred. -

I just downloaded Lightroom 5 Trial, I have lightroom 3 already on my Mac. I noticed my computer is low on space and wondered if its because I downloaded the trial. Lightroom 5 now has all my photos in it- are those copies of the photos in Lightroom 3? Did the download copy over all my catalogs?
No, that would not happen. Lightroom does not copy your photos into its catalogs. If you had one copy of the photo before you did this, you will still have one copy of the photo.
What Lightroom does is creates small thumbnail versions of your photos (called "previews"). Depending on how many photos you have, and options that you set in the program, these previews may or may not take up a lot of space.
Why don't you use your operating system to see what is taking up space? Report back, and we can advise you further. -

(I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!) I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

This doesn't make sense. You can register multiple, even non-Apple-ID, email addresses and their aliases with FaceTime.
