All my clips are panned, quick change to 0

All my clips are -1 and +1 with one track louder than the other. I have to adjust each and every pan slider to 0 to hear it in both speakers. Is there a way to hightlight all the clips and change them all to 0 in one click?

Most certainly. Select your clips, then press Control-. (that's Control & the Period key)
This is also available from the menubar, but I can't remember where right now...

  • Confused why my video exports at 640x480 when all the clips are 1280x720

All of my clips are from a canon 7d shot at 1280 60fps mostly surfing so I can slow it down. I added one clip which is at 640 to the project and when I exported the project in H.264 or any other setting it is only at 640. So I went back removed the clip and tryed to export again and it still only does 640 even though all the clips are now at 1280. I would hate to have to edit all over again. Thanks for any help.

Thanks I realized I can click the wrench at the bottum right of the inspector box and change the properties back to 1280 so that helped but I couldn't change the FPS they are stuck on 30 not the end of the world. I think I must have accidently put a 640 clip as the first clip when I dropped into the timeline and even though I deleted it, it kept everything at that setting . It would be nice if you could change the properties after the fact.

I am using final cut express 4. It seems that any clip over a certain length, say 5 min, does not fully transfer! All shorter clips are perfectly fine. Is there some reason why longer clips are not fully transferred? (a half blue circle shows up on the transfer list, indicating that the clip was not fully transferred. When I check in the capture scratch folder, sure enough the whole clip is not there!
Is there some glitch in final cut express that only allows short clips to be transferred in full?

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to answer all the questions (I am a relative novice). Your help is appreciated.
By the way, the other reply I received suggested the following:
In Final Cut Express>System Settings>Scratch Discs make sure the Limit Capture/Export File Segement Size To: is not checked.
I did this and it was already unchecked. So this is not the answer...
The strange thing is, I have been logging and transferring with FCE for 2 yrs without any problems at all with shorter clips, but have come up against the problem with long clips (over 5 or so min)  the whole time. I got around it by simply making sure I stopped recording after less than 5 min while shooting footage. OR if I accidentally got a long clip, I import into imovie and then import into FCE. Not very streamline and I worry about compressions altering quality!
I am now trying to import a 20 min and a 17 min clip and it only transfers around 3 minutes of each, I have re-tried several times and it happens repeatedly. The blue circle in the transfer list shows up as a half blue circle instead of full. Clip cuts off after 3 or so minutes.

  • After update to 10.2 (all 50p) clips are black..:(

I just opened a 2013 fcpx project to find a lot of the red sections in the timeline
as seen in the image. that is just horrible.
the clips are still in the browser and look like this in the browser:
as you can see, not all clips are affected. having a closer look, it seems that 25p clips are
still there and fine, and the affected ones are the ones filmed in 50p.
All clips were filmed with the Panasonic GH3, as said, the affected ones in 1080p50,
all h264 and usually fcpx just works great using GH3 footage.
The quick fix in this panic situation was to transcode to pro res, but this almost blew up my ssd...:(
Any idea or help how to fix this? i also still have a documentary film project with tons of 50p
material which i can t transcode entirely just to skim through...
Please help, I hope there s a fix for this problem

I allready reported the situation to apple.
the support doc (which doesn t apply because the files are not avchd but mov and it s no mac pro)
sounds more than frustrating. basically they say that one should not record in 50p, and downgrade
    to the older fcpx..
hope that they ll fix it soon. can t really get how they push out such a big update without checking
some really common file formats with it. I guess the NAB brought them in a hurry.
For proffesional use, like in this job i have to finish now, it s a dissapointment.

  • All my Clips are Blue'd Out

Here's a screen shot of my problem.
    http://imgur.com/FddKC
As you can see all my clips in the event browser are blue'd out and dont have the preview thumbnail. After a few mins of editing the previews to all my clips in the view turn solid blue. I can Fav Unfav them to show the preview again or restart FCPX again. But I frequently have to do this for this particular video and it's annoying to do it almost every 10 mins. Any reason why this is happening?
I am using a Macbook Pro i7 Quad with 4gb RAM

  • Encoding just a part of a long sequence - ALL audio clips are processed ?!?

I have a 60 minutes sequence - among other stuff, it has about 30 audio clips.
When I define my work area to be - let's say 45 secs and _Export_Media to AME, all audio clips from the source sequence are processed, what is  time-consuming and boring.
Is there a way to avoid this ?

    Yup.

  • Why is my project defaulting to 60p when all my clips are 23.98?

And how do I fix it?

Hi, all clips have the same size and frame rate. They were all shot on the Red Epic in 5k 23.98 and transcoded via Redcine X to Apple ProRes 422 HQ

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PROJECTS? ALL MY CLIPS ARE GONE! HELP URGENT!

I just turned on iMovie 08 and I was met by the site of yellow exclamation marks by all of the clips in a select few of my projects, I hit the space bar (pressed play) and it started playing except the clips did not play! JUST THE AUDIO PLEASE HELP!

Hi Yes. I had a friend help me out with my new external hard drive. He copied itunes, i photo and imovie to the drive. Everything is fine except for imovie. All our projects will not play anymore and have black screen. I have been reading that a lot of people have been having the same issue. I cannot understand what I have to do to fix it. I have since moved back the copied imovie folders and deleted them.
I think that I understand what to do in the future. I need to send my imovie projects to the external hard drive through imovie, by exporting to the hard drive and not using the finder(as we did with iphoto and itunes.) All I really want to know is if I can fix my movie projects to play again. I do not have the original events saved anymore.
Help please....I am a beginner at this.

  • P2 Trasnfer says all the clips are errors

HI, ive been using my P2 AG HPX170P for nearly a year to transfer my footage true log and transfer. Its sometime say that a clip as a error, I relog it and it works fine.
But this time its all the footage that has errors. I reloged it 10 times, its still say error with the red Its say error no data, I can play it fine in the preview. I tried transferring the content to my hard drive and transferring it true the log in transfer, still not working. Any idea ?
PS all the other content in my hard drives works fine
I also have a AJA KONA Capture Card, could I use it to log in capture ?

Well, I was able to connect my component true my home video converter and digitize it in my video card. It didn't want to take the signal directly from my cam. Strange, very strange.. Oh and I had to use SD format instead of HD, my capture card keep saying no video when I use HD setting.. Weird since all he footage was in 720P 30 !

  • Importing tape into Imovie 11. How do I import all the clips as one long clip?

How do I import all the clips as one long clip? I have 45 min of footage and I want it as one long take I can edit in Final Cut ProX. When I import, all the clips are split up when the scene cuts. I just want the 45 min in one long video.

iMovie will import the tape as if it is direct from the camera. It will sense the scene breaks and put all the clips in chronological order.
If you want to import it as one long clip, I suggest you load the tape into the app that you edited the tape with. Then export it out as a QuickTime movie in the DV codec. You can import this MOV file into FCPX or iMovie.

  • Audio channel 1 clips are the same.

My questions is in Channel 1 all the clips are locked at the same level, so when I adjust one clip they all move. I just turned on the program today and noticed that happened. I don't know what I did. Channel 2 is fine. I'm new to Premiere so any help would be great.
    Thanks Ralph

    Ralph,
The OP (Original Poster) has two options, with regard to points. They can award up to 4x the 5pt. "Helpful Answer" (up from 2x fairly recently), and then can award the "Big 10" points for "Correct Answer." That equates to a total of 30pts per post, however, the OP can only give one award, per Reply, so you could give Stephen the Big 10 for a Correct Answer, and then 5pts. each for each of his "Helpful Answers."
One can also mark a question as "Answered," without any points being awarded, and the thread will be marked as "Answered." One can also award up to 4x 5pts per Reply, for "Helpful Answers."
Those points go into the poster's Profile. Note: Stephen is joking about the "use" of the points, as few, if any of us know what those points translate into. We used to speculate that at some point, Adobe would award a free lunch at the Official Adobe Cafeteria (Friday is Maine Lobster Day), and 5 mins. with the Product Manager of one's choice for some one-on-one "face time." That, however, was just pure speculation, but fun, none the less.
Most of all, we try to just help posters with problems, and let the points fall, where they might. It is useful, though, to mark a solved question as "Answered," so that future readers will know that the OP did get a useful answer.
    Good luck,,
    Hunt
PS - Also, the OP can mark their own Replies as Helpful, or Correct, but those points do NOT appear in the OP's Profile - or I'd be asking a ton of questions, and then padding my "account" with my own points...

  • Aperture Video Import Problem - from Lumix GH4: Imported clips have their dates changed to the import date.  The files show up on the hard drive but many are not showing up in Aperture.

Aperture Video Import Problem - from Lumix GH4: Imported clips have their dates changed to the import date.  The files show up on the hard drive with import date not created date, but many of these same files are not showing up in Aperture. Sometimes the clips actually show up with the current import but take on the video information from a previously imported file.

It was suggested I move this question to IPhoto or IMovie which I did.
Well moving to a different discussion group did not provide an answer to this question either. But what I finally did was import one batch of photos and videos into IPhoto for a given day at a time. Working with these I could change the date and times in order to get them in the original sequench taken. Then I would create an album with that batch. These would all be on the same day (IMove was closed for this phase). Then I would open IMovie, generate the thumbnails for that album, and select the album I had created. This was necessary because the importing process in IPhoto was using incorrect dates for my video so it was a real struggle finding them in IMove until I developed this approach.
I believe that this whole process was so screwy because I was importing from an external hard drive not a camera. I had these photos on a PC and did not have the original cameras to use to import directly which I am fairly sure would have made this easier!

  • Changing Domain Administrator Password : How can I find out what all servers / services are currently using this?

    Good morning all,
I took over as IT director for the school district in my town about 2 years ago, and we've had some techs come and go, all of which have had the domain administrator password (not my call, but my fault for not changing it by now).  I am about to change
it, but before doing so I want to know how I can make sure what all this will break so I can quickly change the cached/saved password on whatever supporting services use this user/pass.
    Can anyone help here?
    Thank you!

    Hello,
In my point of view if I were in this situation I would Change the domain administrator password. By
Resetting the domain administrators all the services which use domain administrator as their logon user, will lose their functionality. I had this experience and I did change the domain administrator password with no problem. However do not
forget to have a account lockout tool or script for locating the place where the account was locked out.
But to keep it short most of the time. lockout problems are arise from mapped drives, credential manager and saved RDP sessions and etc.
    Regards.

I was trying to rename my home folder I then restart my computer and now all my stuff are gone. Can anyone help?

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, provide /Users/ as the path, and move the files to your current home folder. Alternatively, open the Accounts or Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, unlock it, control-click your account, choose Advanced Options, and change the path to the home folder.

Have tried restarting computer, no joy. Help!!

The reply from Nerval fixed it. It is very simple and it works.
If you have a lot of Projects and  Events, leave the iMovie running for a long time. I had 160G and it took 4hrs. It is doing it in the background so don't shutdown too quick.
    Thanks Nerval.
