All my contacts are only in icloud and not in my outlook?

I don't understand why all my contacts are not in outlook anymore - just in outlook - I would like to change it back.

Because you installed iCloud and moved your Contacts from a local account to an online account.
I would like to change it back.
Restore your backup after signing out of iCloud.

  • How can if figure out which contacts are in both iCloud and on my Mac?

I keep contacts on my Mac and on iCloud.  I want to see which ones are in both databases.  Some of them automatically "linked" and others did not.  The search for showing contacts that are both a member of "my Mac" and a member of "iCloud" does not seem to work.  I also want to figure out which contacts are not in a group and this has been difficult as well.

If you change your preferences so that the defaul is not iCloud then you get two sections like this:
When I don't have it set to On My Mac then I only get one section because all of my cards are in the cloud.

  • HT204150 All my contacts have disappeared from icloud and all my devices

I've just tried to use contacts on my iPhone (4S) to discover they have all disappeared. Checking my other devices, I discover they have disappeared from them also.
Is there any chance of getting them back?
I have tried recovering from Time Machine to my Macbook but it won't let me.
    Can anyone help, please?
    David

Log out of iCloud and make your Home/Library visible as follows:
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Then go to your Home/Library/Application Support folder and select the AddressBook folder.
Go into Time Machine, go back in time till you're sure you'll have all your contacts and resotre the AddressBook folder.
Open Contacts and see if your contacts are back.  If so the the first thing to do is use the File ➙ Export ➙ Contacts Archive... menu option to make a backup of your contacts.
Then log back into iCloud and see if your other devices will repopulate with your contacts.

  • I am upgrading from an iphone 4 to a 5. All my contacts are stored in icloud. Can they be downloaded onto my new iphone5

    Hi,
I have an iphone 4S, and being supplied with an iphone 5. I use the icloud to store all my data, can this be downloaded from the icloud to my new phone, or should I store everything on my laptop first?
    Thanks
    JW

    Yes.
You can transfer the backup for your iPhone 4 to the new iPhone which will include your iCloud account and account settings. Your iCloud contacts are stored in the cloud and will be downloaded by your new iPhone.

  • HT1660 Changed PC's copied iTunes and put on new PC after authorisation. Songs are now from iCloud and not library. I have w7?

I recently changed PC's and authorised new laptop, copied itunes to my external hd. Imported itunes to new Laptop but did not show in itunes when opened so I got them from icloud and have to download all the time. How can i get the tunes live again in itunes? My previous location of the songs on the old PC was c/users/home/previous itunes libraries/itunes media. They default is presently c/users/les/music.
    Any help?? Frustrated iyunes man.

I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.
Long and short is nothing will save to my devices at all.....HELP !!!!!!!?

  • On iCloud on my PC it shows that all my contacts are still on iCloud, but they are not showing up on my iPhone 4?

Can you tell me why this is happening? I have synced my iPhone with iTunes on the PC and they have still not appeared in the phone contacts.

If you are syncing your contacts from your PC with iCloud, they are not transferred to your phone using iTunes.  They are synced to your phone using iCloud, either over wifi or your cellular data network.
First go to icloud.com with your computer browser, sign into your account and open Contacts there to confirm that your contacts appear.  If they do, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your account and turn Contact on.  Assuming your phone is either connected to wifi or your cellular data network, the contacts should then download from iCloud to your phone.

  • How do I back up all of my iphoto library to iCloud and not be limited by photo stream?

I need to be able to back up my iphoto library of well over 1000 photographs going back seven years. I note that Photostream limits the number of photographs and the duration for which they are stored. How can I back up the entire library, even if I have to pay?

I'm with Paul.  I'd recommend you buy external hard drive (or two) and copy over your iPhoto library.  Or use Time Machine and back-up the photos along with your music, documents, etc.  Keep the hard drive at work (in case of a home fire, flood, or theft).  Every couple months bring the hard drive home to update the back-up and then bring it back to work the next morning.
If you also want to do an online backup, also check out http://www.carbonite.com
It will be much slower to upload than Dropbox, but less expensive.  It's $60/per year for unlimted storage, but it will only back-up your internal drive at that price point.
edit: I just did a quick search and noticed that people have been having problems with Carbonite using too much processor power. There are other online back-up services, you may want to do some research.

    Hi stanlaw,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The information below should help you with this.
Associating and verifying email addresses with your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68
How to verify the primary email address for your Apple ID
When you first create an Apple ID (using your email address) a verification email will be sent to that address. If you sign in to your Apple ID from the link in that email, the email address will be verified as the primary email address for your Apple ID. You can also resend the email verification if the email address is not verified:
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. Click Resend under Primary Email Address.
    3. Verify your changes by following the link in the email you will receive from Apple and signing back in to your account.
I hope this information helps ....
    Happy Holidays!
    - Judy

    Howdy eewebe13,
So you have no cellular service but are on Wi-Fi yet iMessage and Facetime are waiting for activation.
Please step through this article for that scenario.

  • HT204150 I have just set up icloud and all my contacts are duplicated from Address Book! My new iPhone is also showing duplicate contacts even though they are not duplicated in my address book on my computer. Please can you help

I have just set up icloud and all my contacts are duplicated from Address Book! My new iPhone is also showing duplicate contacts even though they are not duplicated in my address book on my computer. Please can you help?

Also, what are the source of your contacts? are they created on the phone, or you synced from yahoo/hotmail etc.
If thats the case, the circular arrow wont be visible but instead show "groups"
Contacts from different accounts are not synced to iCloud.

  • My daughter register her ipod with my account and now all my contacts are gone?

my daughter register her ipod with my account and now all my contacts are gone and I have her contacts in my iphone I need my contacts back!!

If you are sharing the same iCloud account your data will be merged.  Then if she deleted your contacts from her device, they would have been deleted from yours too.
The first thing to do is migrate your daughter's iPod to her own iCloud account (you can continue to share the same iTunes ID; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud).  To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos she wants to keep to her camera roll (unless already there) by opening her my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload your data.
Once she is on her own account, you may be able to recover your contacts from your iCloud backup by following these steps: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.

Everything that you have checked in your icloud settings will be shared between devices using the same Apple ID.  If you don't want icloud to share that information, then simply turn off that process under settings > icloud

  • I recently changed my iCloud account because someone stole my last phone and changed all my passwords for both my iCloud and emails account. So when I changed my account I accedently erased all my contacts is there anything I can do? (It wasn't backup)

I'd say your best bet is to try to regain access to your old account. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE, and ask to talk to the account security team. Hopefully they can verify you are the account owner, and then reset the password for you.
