hi all my ipod nano songs i downloaded got erased from the ipod and it said i need an itunes update

ive already done that 5 times it comes back to the ipod but then it says i need an update

music can only be installed and listened to either via iTunes on your computer or by downloading from the iTunes Store, so stop wasting your time with other methods.

David is correct. The announcement was that all new music for sale would be non-DRM. There was no guarantee that everything would be upgradable.
Another possibility is that the iTunes Plus version is there, but the Store did not correctly match it with the old DRM tracks that you bought. If you see the new one in the Store, contact Customer Service.

That's an iCloud issue. Go to Settings > iCloud and turn off your Contacts, choose to keep the info on your phone, and then restart your phone, and then turn Contacts back on. If that doesn't work, delete your iCloud account from your phone, choose to keep the info on your phone, and then add the account again. If that doesn't work, go to settings > general > reset > reset network settings, and reconnect to your wifi network. If that doesn't work, restore from either an iTunes or iCloud backup.

If you cannot powerup the phone, there would be no way to recover the photos from the device. Have you tried to just connect it to the computer? If the photos are that important, have you considered possibly a 3rd party repair to just fix the screen so you can access the device, or was there more broken than the screen?

My ipod was plugged into the computer, and I reset it...somehow while I was resetting it all of my songs and albums got erased, yet they still show up in my ITunes library. Is there any way to transfer the songs back to my ipod or will I have to start completely over again? Help please!

Hi - Can you please provide some additional information. When I go into preferences and choose Accounts, nothing is there. When I go to add an account, it prompts me for a username, password and server information. What needs to be entered in these fields? I tried my Mobile Me account name and password, but it didn't work - wanted server information. I have no idea what this would be. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why? A glitch. The second copies are links to your purchases in the cloud and are not taking up any room. Sign out of the store and they should disappear. Sign back in again and they should stay gone.

What happened to my iPod? :( all my songs got erased...

I recently updated my iPod (a few days ago) to iOS 7 and today I connected it to my laptop to add some new things, (my itunes was version 11.1.1) and suddenly it began synchronizing with files from my laptop and my iPod did not recognize my songs, all were erased... ("Add manually" option was checked), I tried to load it to 100%, but nothing.... I also tried to update my iTunes to the newest version then I tried to add again some of my songs but it was really slow, then I disconnected my iPod from my laptop and again some of the songs were unrecognizable... I guess that I will slowly be adding songs, but I want to know what really happened, could have been that I've connected my iPod with iOS7 to my iTunes 11.1.1?

Hello, well today i was updating my phone to the iOS and when the update was compleat all of the data on my phone had been deleted. Please tell me what i can do to obtain my data.

I'm sorry my friend As a Windows user, we don't have that problem. However, I remember when I did use a Mac (They are awesome...sigh..), any Windows app I need, I would run under VMware Fusion. That allows me to bridge my BlackBerry to the virtual machine with Windows, and by extention, the BlackBerry Desktop software.
That said, if you ever get around to it, consider purchasing (or if you happen to have a MSDN subscription, downloading.) Windows and install it under Fusion (or if possible, Parallel. Make sure it supports bridging devices directly to the virtual machine though. I haven't used Parallel yet). Then, you can use the backup function and make sure things like this don't happen again!
You might also want to consider waiting it out (well, you kind of have to now. The BlackBerry wipe function does it job pretty well. I think it overwrites the data too if I remember) untill September, where RIM has planned the release of the Desktop Software for Mac (Link if you like: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/mac.jsp)

Went online to retrieve a download and the entire download list was gone. I did not clear the list where did it go and can I retrieve it?

Maybe you have some cleaning utility that has cleared it. Or did you inadvertantly clear it yourself

Possibly the files are still there but not the listing. Try searching for the files by name or date using Windows XP search. That is easiest of course if you remember what your set or default download location is.

All songs are erased when connecting Ipod Nano to PC.

It happened a few times now since the last few months, so last momnth I uppdated all softwares and installed the latest Itune. But it happened again last night. All songs got erased as soon as I plugged in my Ipod Nano to update or add new songs. Anyone experience that, what can it be.

Ok not sure what you mean, I did have to restore it It's my daughter's ipod)at work on my computer, added a few songs to see if it works, so it worked, gave it to her and she strted using it at home on the home computer and synched her ipod with Itunes to download her songs, was good for a few weeks and then last week she connected the usb cable to put more songs, that's when she lost everything and Itunes said to use the Ipod updater.... again!!!
So do you mean that I she has to be on manual mode at home, since I initally put some music on my work computer???
