All my email dates are the same

I sort my Apple Mail by date and other than it saying recieved today or yesterday, everything else is 01/05/2013
Anyone knows a fix?

Try rebuilding the mailbox.

When copying folder to external drive, "An older item named.." appears even when the dates are the same

When I am manually backing up folders from Macbook Pro Mountain Lion to an external drive, the dates for folders are being misread? It will say "An older item named.." every time. I checked the dates and times and they are the same on Mountain Lion and the External drive for the files and the folders. It should send me back a message saying "An item named “” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you’re moving?"
When I try to move an individual file to the external drive and the dates are the same, I get the correct message - "an item named "" already exists..." so the issue is only with the folders.
I have only had this issue since the update to OS 10.8. Any Suggestions? thanks

The modification date of a file is stored internally in seconds. The Finder rounds off to the nearest minute. If the age of two files differs by less than 30 seconds, they'll seem to have the same modification date in the Finder.

All my photo's are the same

I recieve emails from a IP Webcam. When I look at them via the iPhone all the pics are the same across emails. If I delete all of them then receive a new one I get then new pic. But thats the only one I can see in every new email. If I use a third party app to view the emails I see all the different pic but not thru the apple email system

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

Why have all my emails now got the same date in Mail?

All incoming and outgoing emails show the same date in the list of mailboxes and the "sort by" columns. The date is 01/05/2012. How can I change this to show the "real" dates? This has only happened in the past 2 weeks.
I'm no able the start a discussion in the Mail community, so I hope this is the appropriate alternative.

Go to Settings/Messages/Receive at/ and disable the mail address or phone number for the device that your sister is using.

I want to move all my email data over the past several years from one yahoo account to another. I am told that I can use Thunderbird to copy and paste . How?

I wish to close down one email account but have no time to indivuidaully send emails out piecemeal to my newly set-up email address/account.
I want to keep the same InBox and Sent data columns as I have always had with dates associated with each email.
I was told that setting up Thunderbird to deal with emailing can facilitate this copying and pasting between two accounts.
Once done I wish to close my first email account ( its unfortuneately contractually linked to my old iphone 4 and I have changed cell phone companies so I am still keeping that account alive while I sort out how to move my data out into my new email account) and stick to using the new account.
Both are yahoo.co.jp email accounts. Yes, I live in Japan.
The Thunderbird program seems to have accessed and stored all of my email data . It did so quickly.
Please advise what to do next.

He will run into a problem when he wants to use his own account. Some apps will have been purchased on one Apple ID and other apps will have been purchased on a different Apple ID. That's a nuisance situation when the apps need updating and, unfortunately, there is no resolution at the present time (IDs can not be combined).

I am curious if all mac Sata cards are the same for install?

I watched a couple of tutorials and saw one that was about an installation of a sata extension cable? Not sure what that would be used for given that a sata card is internal and does not need an extension? Of course, I know that it is used for something... Anyway, you have to attach it to something behind the fan. On other tutorials that involve just the sata card, there is nothing to connect behind the fan. Am I right? Are all sata cards pci cards? And finally are all sata cards installed the same way. I realize there is sata one, two, and three. Thank you.

It would be unfair to charge US$5 to install it, unless you are someone who routinely draws blood installing memory cards. As you saw in all the videos except the one with the cables, it's a cinch, and there are no internal cables on any of the others.
The solution with the internal cables (if you have the right version of Mac Pro) costs under US$20 total. There is no card involved, just the cables.

When a document is a scanned PDF and converted to word some of the words and paragraphs are randomly a shade lighter when printed. You can (barely) see it on the screen but it is different. All font and design are the same. Any suggestions?

I saw something similar with my 4 TB Promise SmartStor NAS after I upgraded to Lion. Only, I had ALL of my iTunes library on the NAS and one day, about a week after the upgrade I finally tried to play music with iTunes, but it kept throwing up an error just like the one you're seeing. I searched around for a while and finally found some steps that fixed the problem.
I found this solution at another site (can't remember which) that gave credit to this site:

Here are the directions I cut-n-pasted into my little notes file:
1) Launch the Terminal app
2) Run this command:
sudo chmod o+w /Library/Preferences
3) Run this command:
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_host_prefs_version -int 1
4) Restart your computer
5) From Finder, select an AFP server, or use “Connect To…”
This will cause the AFP Client to create the full preferences file
6) Launch the Terminal app again
7) Run this command (all on one line, make sure double-quotes are simply double-quotes from your keyboard, not pasted from the web as up and down quote marks) (yes, some of the spelling looks weird):
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_disabled_uams -array "Cleartxt Passwrd" "MS2.0" "2-Way Randnum exchange"
8) Run this command:
sudo chmod o-w /Library/Preferences
9) Restart your computer
To disable this hack, run this command (all on one line, make sure double-quotes are simply double-quotes from your keyboard, not pasted from the web as up and down quote marks):

I have 2 computers, an Iphone 3gs and an IPad, is there any way to sync all devices so they are the same?

I'm sure I asked this question before. How can one sync their ipad, iphone with more than one computer. I spend 6 mth in Canada and 6 months in the states and don't really want to haul around a desktop computer. Any ideas?

Mmm... Let's say the way that the devices in the US are the way you want them to be. Now you want to sync the device to a computer in Canada. This is the hard or easy part depending how you look at it. Yes, you can sync and make a backup for the devices to the computer in Canada. But you will lose the photos, music, and videos that you have in iTunes in the States. What you will need to do is copy the folder for those items onto a flash drive and place that folder in ITunes Canadian computer. Also you won't be able to use the app store accounts from on country to another.
I'm sure there has to be an easier way to do this and I hope someone will chime in. I'm just thinking off the top of my head on how to do this...

So, my upgrade date and contract end dates are the same?

What exactly does this mean? This was my first contract phone and it ends on 9/11/14. My upgrade date is also 9/11/14. Does this mean I HAVE to go pick out new phones and sign a new contract on that exact date? It seems they'd give you a range of dates so you could do it a little early, before your contract really ends. What happens if I don't make it there on 9/11? My service will be turned off?

The upgrade date isn't for one specific date, but for that date onward. You're not required to upgrade. If you choose not to, your account will remain active on a month-to-month basis.

How do i get my contacts to sync so they are the same on my computer, Iphone and Icloud?

from over the years I had a lot of information in my address book that was not relevent anymore, was incorrect or incomplete or a dupluicate. I went through all of them on my mac computer and updated all of the information. As soon as I pluged my iphone in to sync it I ended up with more duplicates, some contacts on my phone not on my computer and vise versa. I checked Icloud to make sure that one was ok but it is different from both my computer and my phone. Now I have 3 different versions of my contacts. How do I sync all three so they are the same so I can start cleaning it up again? Does i matter where I make the changes (phone, computer or cloud)? After I clean everthing up again how do I make sure that the most current and correct contacts are in all three places? Please help it making me a bit crazy at the moment.

That's your problem. You must have 10.7.5 or later installed to have iCloud. Upgrade your computer:

If you are using Apple's Mail app 6.5 is the latest version irrespective of what a previous poster says. It does sound though that you are using a gmail account online via a web browser. Please confirm and fill in missing information.

The Book confuses me. I still think assignment delay and leveling resources are the same. Here is the explanation from the book for the three concepts.
" Project offers two types of delays:
Leveling delay. This type of delay applies to tasks; it pushes out the start date for the task and all its resource assignments. It’s meant specifically for remov-ing resource overallocations. With the Leveling Delay field, you can remove
all leveling delays by choosing Resource➝Level➝Clear Leveling.
Assignment delay. This type of delay applies to a single assignment within a task. Suppose you have a security consultant coming in to help lock down your site. However, your employees have prep work to do before the consultant can get started.
You can assign everyone to the same “Try hacking into office” task but delay the consultant’s assignment by 5 days. "
