All my music has suddenly dissappeared.
There are appostrophies next to ALL my songs. I see no button that allows me to restore my I tunes. When I try to contact "Support" I am told the ID on the back of my I-Pod is not a valid serial number.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Music has suddenly altered pitch
All my itunes music has suddenly turned high pitch and the sound of the songs has changed so it sounds stupid and i don't know why or how to turn it back to normal?! I scanned my computer and got rid of any threats that it could have been but i don't know what to do to get all my music back to normal. :S
I had the same issue this morning. Music and podcasts that had been on the iPhone last night are gone after a brief sync this morning. Checking the settings page shows 0 songs and 0 videos but only 1.9 gb of free space. I hope the reset fixes mine as well.
And Apple, your patch screwed something up here. -
ive got a laptop from a friend, she cleared everything off it. ive downloaded itunes and for some reason all her music has appeared in the library. How do i delete her music from the itunes libary so i can add my own music?
In iTunes, select the music you want to delete (⌘+a to select all) and hit Delete on your keyboard.
Also delete the music files in Finder. Also make sure you have your own Apple ID and iTunes account and logged in. -
I subscibed to ITunes Match and all my music has disappeared from my Ipod touch and will only play through WiFi so I cannot play music in my car. How do I get it back please
You'll need to switch off iTunes Match on the device & sync the iPod with iTunes as hopefully you've kept all your music on your PC.

I don't know why but somehow all my music has disappeared from my iTunes. I store all my music files on external hard drives.
I don't know what to do to get it all back onto iTunes (other than individually adding each song)If you are lucky you may be able to recreate your library using the method here:

If that doesn't work you can just add your iTunes Music folder using "Add Folder to Library", that gets your music back in the library but loses playlists and ratings etc.
Becuase this is rather a common problem, it is a good idea to make backups of you Library file from time to time:
Backup the iTunes Library Files
The library files are in:
My Documents\My Music\iTunes
Close iTunes and wait about 30 seconds.
Copy iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml somewhere else e.g. into the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
To restore, with iTunes closed drag the current itl and xml file from the iTunes folder to the desktop, then copy the backup iTunes Library.itl into the iTunes folder. The xml file isn’t necessary but can come in handy if the library needs to be recreated and the itl file is causing problems. -
ahh! .I restored my iphone recently and put all my music back onto my phone that day and it was fine but last night i was putting someother music on got an error music on. I got an error message about not being able to sync and now ALL my music has GONE. deos anyone know why this would have happened?

Sound works fine on all programs, but has suddenly stopped on Apple Mail. No "submarine" sound when I send or receive email. I checked the settings in "Preferences" in Apple Mail and it is set to "submarine" as the sound. Any help?
deleted previously imported key chain originated from the previous system (why doesn't apple provide a migration for my key chain?). after the deletion mail can receive and send again and dreamweaver starts without hanging.

What has happened and how do I get my music back? Obviously I have some of it on iTunes but others I don't have anymore... I can't understand how my music would suddenly disappear when my iPod has been working fine. My iTunes was set to manually manage music (and even if it hadn't been, then my iPod would have been synced to it anyway, so that can't explain why it's gone) and all my apps are there as usual. It's the version of the iPod touch before the camera was introduced. Please help!

Non purchased itunes music has suddenly disappeared
All of the music in my itunes on my pc has suddenly disappeared, with the exception of the (small) amount of music that I have downloaded from the itunes store. I am assuming that the files are still on my pc hard drive somehwere but that itunes for some reason is no longer locating them. Any suggestions anybody?! Thanks.
I am having the same problem, upgrade of computer from Dell 754 to Dell 900, XP to 7 so because I do not have an external harddrive, have synced my iPod touch to my new iTunes on new computer. Now my delimma is how do I get the 'purchased' iTunes list to my music library. This is 700+ songs not seen in my music library.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
I upgraded my Original Iphone to an Iphone 4, and am having issues syncing my Music,
It asked me, if I wanted to set up my phone as a NEW Iphone, or use the last sync. I figured, using the last sync would simply move everything over. NOT, so much. I am using Windows, Not Mac.
I uploaded the LATEST version of Itunes. And on occasion if I click the Music link button, and tap a bunch of things,.. It will take me to a page that says,.. Iphone or Shared Library. The only way I can get my music to show up, is via, tapping Shared Owner's Library. But it takes a zillion taps to get there, and 50% of the time doesn't show up at all. It says- repeatedly, Either, "You have no songs," etc. or when I tap, "Not on this device" it says, "all of your music has been downloaded to this device..." But HOW do I get to it?
On my OLD phone, all I had to do was tap the Music Note,... and my library showed up... That's all I want...
I put my music in the cloud, etc,.. I just thought that was a COPY. Am I needing some kind of CLOUD app on my phone? Or Can someone walk me thru this... I'd be eternally grateful. I'm ready to throw this thing out the window! HELLLPPP! PLEASE!!!

Shea....The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.
Now- "DO YOU have any idea,"... how your UNHELPFUL remarks, do absolutely nothing but hurt others that might not have the EXPERIENCE you have? How do you expect people to know things without asking questions? Whew! RUDE!!

I had all my music on an external hard drive which itunes referred to as the stored location. this drive has now died and I only have the music on my iphone/ipad. How do I recreate my music on another external drive using the music on my iphone/ipad?
Have you failed to maintain a backup copy?
If so, not good, you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third party program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple). -
I had itunes installed on my old ACer and went to install itunes on my new HP. It has removed all my music from my phone.and when I tried earlier to update itunes on old acer it wouldn't install properly.
