All my planned recordings have gone

All my recordings have been deleted. I recently had a problem with my SKY+ HD box freezing so powered down and then back up again, unfortunately after doing this all my recordings had gone and were not in the deleted. I am really miffed about this as I had recorded the whole series of Game of Thrones and have now lost and cannot watch Grrrrrrrr Has anyone else experienced this ???

Try the instructions below:
Planner Rebuild
If restarting your Sky+ box hasn't resolved the problem, follow these steps to rebuild the Planner.
Please note: Rebuilding your Planner will not delete any of your previous recordings. However, it will interrupt any recordings currently in progress, so it's best to proceed when you’re not recording a programme.
1. Press services on your Sky remote.
2. Press the right arrow button to highlight Settings.
3. Press select.
4. Press 0, then 1, followed by select. You'll now see a new set of screens that are normally hidden from view, with the Setup screen selected.
5. Press the left/right arrow buttons to highlight Sky+ Rebuild.
6. Press select. You'll now see this message: "This will take a few minutes to complete. The rebuild will stop all recordings and reboot your Sky+HD".
7. Press select. The onscreen message "Housekeeping please wait" will appear and then disappear within two minutes.
8. The Planner rebuild will now go ahead, and may take up to two further minutes. Once complete, your Sky+ box will automatically switch itself off and then back on. You will then see the red standby light on your Sky+ box (newer boxes have an amber standby light).
9. Wait for at least two minutes after the red standby light has appeared.
10. Press sky on your remote control.
Your Sky+ box should now start up as normal, with the light changing to green. Once your Sky+ box has started, try to use the Planner to record and view programmes as usual.

Pictures are not designed to be kept in the Camera Roll... that is simply temporary storage for when you are taking pictures. Try reading this and this to see if it clears it up for you.

Thanks - I actually went into Settings - then icloud - then contacts and switched it to off and they came back! Thanks anyway.

Firefox 5 on Win7: All my plugin buttons have gone from the toolbar. They are not in the customise pane. Session manager offers the correct sessions but opens with last session instead. I've re-installed % and reset toolbars. Help!

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

All of my photos have gone

I have a brand new Macbook Air. Due to the lack of space i copied my library from my old Macbook onto an external hard drive which i have been using without problems for over a month.
Two days ago I created a calendar using my Macbook Air and the library on the external drive. Yesterday I went back onto the computer to finish my project and was told that my library needed to be updated. I clicked ok and then I was told;
The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto.
I clicked upgrade and then got this
There is a problem accessing one or more files in your iPhoto library. Do you want iPhoto to repair permissions for this library for you?
I clicked repair and a few seconds later iPhoto opened with no photos.
The iPhoto library is still on my hard drive and it shows that it hols 56GB of data however when i look at the package contents I cannot see any photos.
I am running iPhoto 9.c
My life is in this library, it would be catastrophic if i lost all of the pictures.

In iPhoto use the command "File > Switch to Library" and then click "Create New" in the Library Chooser panel.
Select a folder on your external drive.
You can also get to this panel by holding down the alt/options key when you launch iPhoto.
To get started with backing up your photos, set up Time Machine. And in the options remove your external drive from the exclude list:

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have clicked on the link and followed it step by step, but it says ive only got 250 songs and the point at no.6 is totally different on my device. I do not have the iCloud icon next to it, so I cant download it?

I got an iPhone 3GS and in safari the bookmark icon when pressed use to reveal a listing of different search engines (google, yahoo, bing etc) with a users guide at the bottom of the listings but now they've gone .

there is no tools bar and my screen shows everything in small letters that I cannot change . i posted similar question a few days ago help . I NEVER should have upgraded as everything was working fine and now it isnot

If you havent removed your customizations, you may find your bookmarks backup stored in your profile folder. This can be found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profilename>\bookmarkbackups folder.
If the backups exist and you want to revert to the backup, go to Organize Bookmarks (Ctrl+Shift+B) and choose Import & Backup>Restore>Choose File option. Select your file and you will get back your bookmarks.

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.
Then you can sign out of iCloud on the iCloud control panel and your local copies will still be there. If you want to add your iCloud email account back to iCloud, you can do this with these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.

IF you do find a backup that has your contacts; I'd /highly/ recommand turning off your wifi network after the restore is finished because if the issue is with your iCloud your contacts may merge back with her's.
With iCloud you DO NOT want to share the account; bad things happen Evil evil thigns...
But in all seriousness; if two devices have the same iCloud; iCloud is told to merge and sync infomation between hte two and can't tell that it doesn't belong to the same person

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

I went into ITunes and All of my movies on my iPhone, ipad and computer all have to be redownloaded. All of my playlists are gone! It cleared out my phone, computer and iPad. Its not even working on Apple TV. Why am I having to redownload everything?

After the recent update, I went into update IPAD and all of my movies were gone. Which this is set up for my daughter was a bummer. All of her kid moveies were gone. When I plugged it in for an update that is all I did. I didnt change anything.
When I plugged my phone in to update it all of my playlists were gone and so were the few movies I had on there.
Today I turned on the Apple TV so my daughter could watch a movie and it is still downloading and I have 15 hours before I can watch it. What is going on?
