All numbers in my contacts on iPhone are gone

Last night I was out, and noticed that all the names of people in my recent calls listed had turned into numbers and all my text messages no longer had names associated with them, just phone numbers. Did a reset of the phone. Didn't help. Called Apple this morning, and they had me restore from an iCloud backup from a few days ago before the problem started. This also did not help. Not sure what's going on, but it appears that Facebook may have overwritten the information for all of my contacts and only people's numbers that are public on facebook are showing up on my contacts list?
Interestingly, when I restored from backup the first time, only 5 out of the 100s of contacts I previously had reappeared in my phone. The new contacts were people I have never heard of and am not friends with on Facebook either. Very, very strange.

Were you not synching your iPhone contacts with an app on a computer as designed? If not, they're most likely gone.
Now would be a good idea to read the User Guide and review how contacts are meant to be maintained so this doesn't happen to you again.

OK. I signed into my Icloud account on my computer and just the basics
were there. My contacts, calendar. find my phone. No picture Icon.
In reading I had to Photo stream from my camera roll. It sounds like I
should just backup everything to Itunes in the future which saves everything.
I have a new device and will try to restore.

All the events in my MacBook and iPhone are gone!

For some reason that I don't know, all events in my computer and iPhone are gone and maybe it's related to configuration. Fortunately all these events are still in my cloud at me.com but my fear is that if I synch my computer or mobile phone with me.com, everything in there will be gone too.
Any suggestions about how to fix this problem?

Try logging into your computer under your profile, open iTunes and sync the phone.

You can get your information back if you have previously done a backup in iTunes or iCloud.

Have you failed to use the device as designed?
If using the iPhone as designed, contacts are synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Pictures taken with the device would be copied off to the computer on a regular basis.
If you have been using the device as designed, simply sync the content back.
If you have not been using the device as designed, you can try restoring from the most recent backup. However, if that does not restore them, they are gone.

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help. Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

See if the iPad will accept the password after you restart it. It's worth a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try a reset as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
