All of a sudden getting Undefined variable: attvalue in Squirrelmail

I'm running squirrelmail 1.4.17, and it's been running fine for about 2 months now. This week all of a sudden, I'm getting the following error when trying to read e-mails:
Notice: Undefined variable: attvalue in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/mime.php on line 1407
The attvalue variable has to do with stripping out dangerous characters from e-mails. My concern is that my system has been compromised and that someone has disabled this value in order to hack into my server.
The only non standard plugin I've installed into Squirrelmail is a filter that enables me to have an out of office message, it also helps me to move junk mail automatically. It too has been running fine for about a month.
If anyone can offer any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Like I said, everything was fine until just a couple of days ago. No updates took place, everything else seems fine on the surface.

I did forget to mention one thing. At the same time this started happening, I also had a problem that I had experienced before upgrading to the latest Squirrelmail, and that is that in the sending mail processing, specifically in the file deliver.class.php (line 614), I was getting a Notice: Undefined variable: default_charset in /usr/share/squirrelmail/class/deliver/Deliver.class.php on line 614.
I brute force fixed this problem by hard coding the default_charset variable in that function. I know that's not an ideal solution, but it at least fixed the problem from the users point of view.
Again, this wasn't happening until just recently, and I can't figure out what on the server changed to trigger these problems.

Glad you found the answer. But something seems wrong. FCP should be able to assign the scratch disk to your startup drive. It's not advisable, but it should be possible. You might want to try and figure out what's going on before what ever's going on cause other problems.

All of a Sudden Getting Jagged Images in InDesign 5.5

Saw an earlier thread with someone having touble with placed images that were jagged, but that thread didn't help.
I'm using InDesign 5.5. Just completed an ePub project with a placed .jpg from Photoshop and had no problems at all. Went to repeat the process with a second ePub project and suddenly I'm getting placed images that are jagged. The fonts especially look horrible. I haven't done anything different that I'm aware of with the second file. Same relative file size. I flatten the image in Photoshop and then save it as a .jpg. It looks perfect in Photoshop. No jaggies. Then place in InDesign and yuck. I have the display performance settings on High. Thinking it might just be a display problem, I export to ePub. Jaggies still there. Even tried with a TIFF. No difference. Just in case the one InDesign file had become corrupt, I opened a new file, layed it out and placed again, and it didn't help. Image still jagged.
What gives? Why would one file place perfectly and the other poorly?

I mean you don't want to scale the image in ID. The pixel dimensions of the saved image should be the same as the number of pixles required to place the image at the intended size and resolution. When you scale, you are either throwing away pixels or make up new ones by interpolation. Your epub is basically just a web page, and it doesn't care about the resolution of your image, just how many pixels are in it. Have you done a reboot since taking all the stuff off - hold both the home and power buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.

Albums all sorted then suddenly get messed up

I have my photo albums manually sorted in iPhoto, just the way I want them to appear in my iPhone/iPad. Worked perfectly like this for 3 years. However, two weeks ago the order of the albums was just suddenly all jumbled up randomly. I painstakinginly re-ordered them back the way they were. Yesterday it did it again. WHY? Anyone?

If the albums spontaneously changed that suggests perhaps an issue with the iPhoto Library itself (damage).
A few questions for you first:
__Do you maintain backups of your computer (Time Machine for example)? If so, you can go back in time before this issue occurred and restore your Library. If you don't have backups you should seriously consider it. Anyone that has information they care about on any computer should have a backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
__The albums that are changing, are they iPhoto Albums or are they MobileMe galleries (An album is a little blue book and a gallery is a cloud)
__Is your iPhoto Library being stored in the location specified by Apple (Your User > Pictures > iPhoto Library) or are you keeping it somewhere else?
Try some basic fixes:
Ensure all your software is up to date (Apple Menu > Software Update).
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
If the issue persists try rebuilding your iPhoto Library following this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638. Use the bottom 3 rebuild options.
You may still have to re-sort your albums at this point, but hopefully they won't magically change again.
Again, if you don't have a backup, I would highly recommend it.

I can no longer scan in Acrobat. I all of a sudden get an error saying rmslant.dll is missing

I keep getting an error now saying" The program can;t start because rmslant.dll is missing. from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem. I have reinstalled Acrobat but to no avail. I am still able to scan from Paint and other programs on my computer so the scanner is working. Any suggestions?

Reverse Proxy all of a sudden getting 10061 Error

External clients can't connect and i tracked the problem down to the reverse proxy not being able to connect to the front end server. If i run the test on the lync publishing rule all the URLs some back with error 10061 no connection could be made because
the target machine actively refused the connection. Nothing was changed that i am aware of. Anyone have any ideas?

Please make sure that both port 80 and 443 are reachable on all internal Front end and Director servers from any subnet where Lync clients may reside internally.

I'm all of a sudden getting a ( Java Script Application "download error" message) when trying to use Ant Video Downloader. What could cause this?

When an FLV is playing and I want to download it. I click on the Ant download button. A little window appears reading ( Java Script Application "download error" message)

This works for me on YouTube.
Cancel the download and then immediately right click and choose retry.

I've never had this problem before. Always when I click on Mozilla Firefox I get the Aol screen asking for my password to get my aol free e-mail. Why am I all of a sudden getting this Google screen which I can see no way to exit from it?

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. Your homepage might have been changed to the default Firefox home page. It sounds like you just want to make webmail.aol.com/ your home page. Just enter that into the address bar and hit enter. Then follow the steps to make that your home page.
If that doesn't work you should look at the article [[Preferences are not saved]].
If you don't see the navigation bar to enter an address or any of the other navigation buttons, take a look at [[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]]. That article will show you how to turn on the navigation bar again.

Why am I all of a sudden getting an unreadable file message when trying to import photos to iphoto from the card in my Nikon camera? I have done this many times before with no problem.

Can you access the files from Image Capture (in your Applications Folder)?
Have you tried a USB Card Reader?
Have you tried reformatting the card with the Camera?

Do you mean, you have been creating a Photo Book in iPhoto? Or an iBook in iBook Author?
If you are asking about a photo book in iPhoto, what was the last you did in iPhoto, before the crash happened? Did you add a page with a map?
Then you may have a problem with a bug, where adding a route to a map may render the book unreadable. In that case the best option is to restore the iPhoto library from the last backup you made, before you added the map to the book.
It is not possible to open the book and to delete the unreadable page. You can only delete the book and start over, if this bug is the reason for the crashes. See for example this link: Getting rid of problem photo book

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport. Last time it happended I called apple and the suggested I wipe my HD and reinstall everything. I did and it did not work. One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
Apply this.
