All of a sudden, I can no longer use my drop down menus when wanting to go back to websites that should be in my history. It just blips on the screen and disappears! when wanting to shop online, I have the problem tooHow can I remedy this problem?

Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer. Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected. It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].

The built in email program does sound an alert for new messages.
2. Anyone know of a good (free, again) IRC client?

flicker, but I could see it.

You could set the iMac to go to sleep after non use. My Macs are
always sleeping when not in use, waking them up takes seconds.
Unlike windoze, never knew if it would be locked up or not.
5. Should I get the extended warranty? I'm usually
against them, but I am expecting this computer to
last me at least 3 years (for $1300 it better!)
before I upgrade, as I got that much out of a Dell
and from what I understand, Mac's do not age nearly
as fast as Windows pc's.
It is well worth the cost. Never know what might happen. Also
it is good insurance for future upgrades. I traded in my G4 tower
purchased two years ago for 75% of what I paid for it. Apple care
transfers, giving the buyer the remainder of your warranty.

I have acrobat pro on my lap top and recently installed acrobat pro on my Mac Mini, but the text recognition function is not working, does anyone have any advice on how to remedy this problem?
On my laptop when I open up a pdf file and do a search for a particular
text phrase it prompts me to run a character analysis. Whereas on my mac
mini, when I try to engage the same process it just says it couldn't find
the phrase and doesn't even try and run a character analysis. I tried
clicking on the tool bar and the recognize text tab but nothing there seems
to do anything.
In trying to figure out the issue on my own I noticed one thing. I run a
small law firm in St. Louis and I scan in all my files to which are
subsequently emailed to my outlook account where I will save them as pdf's
to their respective folders. On my laptop when I open up an email from my
scanner I see the image of a acrobat document next to the attachment
paperclip symbol. However, when I open up the same email on my mac mini I
notice instead of an acrobat file image it shows a Preview file image (the
program used to open up pdf's before I installed acrobat).

When I attempt to save a new bookmark and want to save it in a folder the window that typically appears just below the address bar will not stay on the screen. It flashes on the screen and as soon as I move my cursor over it, it disappears. It will not allow me to make a selection of any kind. If I randomly hover over the general area the window will flash back in view but disappear again just as quickly. If I then show all my bookmarks, the bookmark was saved and I have to move it to the folder I actually want it in. Just a few extra steps, but still very annoying. Please help!

ThanksCyclosaurus is the resident expert on java script. Search the forum for his posts in topics containing "drop down menu". Also Google "drop down menus" and you'll get a lot of sites with many types of menus and codes. I had trouble adding one via an HTML snippet and am still working on it just to learn the process.

I utilize Norton Toolbar 4.6 and Firefox reports it is disabled because it is incompatible with Firefox 4.0.1. Since I utilize this functionality far more than any increased functionality in the new Firefox how can I go back to the previous version I was using? That was Firefox 3.6.17. Everything works and I am happy to wait until Norton supports the new version.
Please do the following.
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

Used to, I could organize my drop down book mark list from the tool bar, in alphabetical order from A-Z by clicking on view, sort by, select . Now every time I add a new bookmark it goes to the bottom of my bookmark list in Unsorted bookmarks . I can go to the bookmarks and sort the menu in Alpha. order. However, when I go back and drop down the bookmark list from the tool bar, the new bookmarks are still in the Unsorted list at the bottom. The bookmark's menu may or not have them in assorted list. This occurred several updates back. Why can I no longer sort the drop down book marks list in A-Z alph. order? This is a major obstacle when trying to search for a particular bookmark that I have made in the not too distant past.
That did solve my problem. Madperson Thank You Very Much!!!!! I'm not real literate on the mechanics of working computers even though I use them all the time. Basically I'm a point & click kinda guy and beyond that I'm pure novice! This is going to save me a lot of wasted time.

No, you would not need to get another phone unless you want one. But the main thing that needs to be done is to sync the media back onto your iPhone. No. Not without getting the display replaced first. Many Apple Stores in the US and UK can replace the display on the iPhone 5 or 5c (but not the 5s currently) for $149. Make an appointment at the genius bar.

The bar at the top lists back and forward. However, there used to be a drop down arrow next to forward where I could click it and select from a list of pages (sites) that I had just visited in this session, without having to click back, back, back, back, etc. You get the picture??
Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.

She also mentioned if I had an apple store here I could take it in it may be faster, we just had a new apple store that opened in our mall so I took it in, talked to the tech and he pushed the button to see what I meant, then he says yeah this is broken and dented from pushing so hard on it, I said it wasn't really dented that bad just the middle, it came that way, then he's says well we aren't actually a apple store we just sell there product here so you are best to go with Apple and send it too them like they said, I was dumbfounded I honestly think he made this worse when he pushed on it, now I am scared when apple receives me iPad they won't replace it like they said, it was bought this way apparently a bad lot went into the store my husband got it and they told everyone to call apple to replace because they don't replace electronics, I am freaked out now I feel screwed all the way around, what do you think Apples reaction will be, how good is their customer service in Canada when sent away? Big issue? Really? I'm on this forum just about every night and yet, I have not seen posts about such a "Big" issue with any regularity. If your iPad was dented when you got it (sorry for not really believing you), why did you wait until just now to try bringing this to anyones attention? My guess is you dented the iPad. Initially it wasn't an issue, but after pushing on the volume control too hard, it is an issue and you want a free replacement. I'm probably right on the money and you'll likely have a not too kind reply. That's OK, because I'm not the one who will decide the outcome of this. Apple will and for you to get an answer, take it to Apple. But, don't be too surprised when they don't offer a free replacement and they offer you an "out of warranty" replacement at about 50% of the cost of the device when it was new.
