All of a sudden, keeps reverting back to Edge from my Wifi connection
My iphone connected to my home's wifi router no problem until yesterday. Now, I will manually have to select 'linksys' in the Wifi settings. It will work as long as I use it, but if I leave the phone dormant for a few minutes it reverts back to Edge.
Yesterday, I was driving along a road and it asked me to join a linksys network I was passing. I told it not to. Does it have that network confused with mine? If so, what can I do to reset it and make sure it automatically joins mine from now on?
It shouldn't be required to manually select a wireless network that you were successfully connected to previously unless something has changed with that wireless network.
Try a general iPhone reset first - press and hold the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the white Apple logo and then release. This can take up to 10 seconds so ignore the slide to turn off prompt during this time.
If no change and there are no problems with your router - I would try resetting the router and modem to confirm.
Shut down/turn off all computers and devices connected to your wireless network including the iPhone. Turn off or unplug your router and then turn off or unplug the modem. Wait a few minutes and then reverse the process. Turn on the modem and wait until the modem is completely reset. Turn on the router and wait until the router is completely reset with the modem and then turn on your iPhone and computer or computers connected to this network.
No change after doing so, you can try forgetting the network settings on the iPhone.
Settings > WiFi. Select your wireless network - blue button with right facing > and select Forget this Network.
Then connect again entering your wireless network password.
FYI - it is a good idea and recommended by security experts to change the default name of the wireless network from "linksys" to the name of choice.

This issue has been driving me crazy for a while now, but here goes:
The city I live in has a poor reception from T-Mobile, AT&T, and other providers. I have to rely on my home wireless connection sometimes to get emails on my phone. So, instead of using "Mobile Network Preferred" option under Connection Preferences, I set it to Wi-Fi Preferred.
However, Wi-Fi preferred option comes at a great cost, with the inability to switch back to the Mobile Network if the connection to the Wi-Fi is lost.
For example, assuming if the phone is connected to a router, based on the following diagram:
Blackberry >>>>> Wireless Router >>>> Modem >>>> Internet Service Provider
If the modem loses connection with the Internet Service Provider, or if the Service Provider is down for maintenance, the BlackBerry will have no knowledage of any of these events, and will stay connected to the wireless router until the wireless reception is lost or degraded to a certain percentage.
So, rather than basing the metric on the reception, is there a program out there that can send out ping echos to a specified destination? One ping for every 5 minute interval. if 3 consecutive pings are lost, the phone should switch back to Mobile Network, assuming if the user did not set their phone to Wi-Fi only.

1. Remove the battery from your phone and leave off for a full minute
2. Re-insert battery and power phone on
3. Dial *228 and choose option 2
4. When the programming has been completed, press OK and your phone will power off, then back on.
5. Reset your password for your Hotspot
6. Update the password on your phone as well. This will help avoid any corrupt connection you may have had previously.
To reset the password for your Hotspot: Settings > Wireless and Networks > WiFi Settings > Manage Networks > long press on the network you want to modify > Enter new password
Alternately, you can long press on the network you want to modify and select "Forget this network", then back out and re-join it at which point it'll prompt you for a password.

My APPLE ID is NOT working properly. I am frustrated beyond belief I have tried time and time again to change my apple ID and it keeps reverting back to my original ID!! I even set up a new email to try to submit a new id and it still does not work
To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that address.
Open the email from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your Apple ID. -

Alpha Channel Settings keep reverting back to "Ignore"
Hey All,
Just diving into FCPX and I had a question about the alpha channel. After finding the Alpha setting in the inspector, I switched to it premultiply. However, upon clicking out of it, the inspector reverts back to "ignore alpha." It does this whether I change the clip in teh Project or the Library. The title animation I'm using was exported from after effects with the animation preset.
Is there a reason why it keeps reverting back to the ignore alpha setting?

There had been a reset method in prior models of PPC powerbooks, etc
that worked by putting your palm/hand flat over the trackpad for a few
seconds, then moving it one direction in one pass. However, that seems
to not be suggested in remedies to resolve Intel-based trackpad issues.
Hopefully the SMC reset will help.

Do you mean that all changes you made to your files are lost, or do you mean that changes to your preferences are lost? For example, pick any small file, make a copy of it, and put the copy on your Desktop. After rebooting, is the copy still there?

My Adobe programs keep reverting back to CC instead of 2014. I have tried restarting my computer as well as uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. InDesign won't install at all but it doesn't give me an error code, it just says "Installation Error."
Is this about internet shortcuts on the desktop or bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar?

Changing "Reel" number keeps reverting back to old number.
I have a situation where I changed the reel number on about 75 tapes that I have. After changing the #'s, I noticed that about 65 of the changes kept and about 10 keep reverting back to what they were before I changed them. Any ideas on why this is happening? As an example, I had the tapes numbered as: 1001, 1002, 1003, etc but decided to be more specific with my tape labeling and changed them all to HT1_1001, HT1_1002, HT1_1003, etc. All the changes stuck except for a select few. I've even tried dragging the source quicktime file (which is labeled correctly) back into the project...to no avail.
I don't think I would have thought of that, assuming your capture scratch was all on one drive. Thanks for posting your solution, hardly anyone ever does that around here.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Could also be not enough free space for the iPad to operate efficiently. With iOS 7 it is recommended that you have 15-20% of the storage space on the device free. For a 16 GB device that is 2.4-3.2 GB free. For a 32 GB device that is 4.8-6.4 GB free. For a 64 GB device that is 9.6-12.8 GB free.
If neither of these suggestions helps, Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
Help i have an iphone 5s and whenever i dowload an app or update, the symbol turns to install then the circle loading, then all of a sudden it goes back to the price symbol. I am having a tough time can anyone help me.

Jgreg14 you have my sympathies. 36 hours ago while using my iPad I was told that my Apple ID had been disabled. Like you I went to the forums, reset my password, and also like you, nothing changed. I have contacted iTunes support and after 24 hours they responded with this:

I have an IPod 2nd generation I bought from a pawn shop. It worked for a day but now when I try to charge it, it keeps switching back and forth from the large full screen icon of a low battery and a lighting bolt below to the blue screen with the apple symbol in the middle.
