All of a sudden my library has dissapeared.Help
Last night I was using Itunes to burn some music to cd's, having no problems at all. This morning when I started my PC and went to Itunes my entire library, some 14,000 songs was gone. The interface I got was as if I had just downloaded a new version, which I had not. Can anyone help please??
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

I've not changed or done anything different than I have for over a year now and all of a sudden I realized when I printed a photo it was blurry?
So looked into exported photo in my library on PC and it also was blurry. Then went back to lightroom it also in LR library and in develop is blurry?
I'm stumped as to why it just isn't working as it always has and what may be the problem?

When I tried to open my iTunes I got a corrupted file message. So I closed all my applications and restarted my computer. Unfortunately when I reopened iTunes, my library has completely dissapeared. I've already tried http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301895 and it hasn't helped since I can't seem to find a file called "iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD".
I'd appreciate any help. It took me a long time to compile this library and I did a lot of editing within it, and I'd like to regain it so it stays synced with my iPod (is there a way to "reverse sync" my iTunes from my iPod?).

Are the songs still on your iPod right now? If so, you can download www.YamiPod.com and select the songs from individual playlists, make a folder on your computer called that particular playlist, and send the songs from the playlist on the iPod TO the named folder on your computer ("Reverse Sync"). Then you can re-import your music back into the iTunes library from the folders you have created, granted the songs are going back into the SAME iTunes account that was the original account when the songs were purchased AND if the music isn't protected by digital rights (if you listened the songs on the iPod before, they were either purchased or not protected by digital rights).
I am actually doing this as we speak, backing up the music from my own iPod, "just in case" something goes haywire somehow, someway!

We bought this itouch for our daughter for Christmas (2011), It has worked fine all this time until now. All of a sudden it will not connect to our home wi fi. All the other ipods/iphones/laptops and desktop are connecting fine so I know it is not the router itself. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting tips (forgetting the network and resetting it on the ipod, turning it off an on, plugging it in and updating the software, we even restored it completely from itunes as a new ipod). It lists the network as available but then when you try to connect it just sits there with the little circle icon thing spinning, trying to connect but never does.Please help!
So you also rebooted your router correct? Does the iPod still connect okay to other networks?

Fascinate Market all of a sudden stopped downloading apps - pls help
I bought a Samsung Fascinate today. It never downloaded any apps. I did a Master restart, and it started to download apps (about 4) - then it stopped downloading. I click on "install," it says "application will download" and then it immediately says "download unsuccessful."
I called customer service at Verizon three times - spoke to their tech guys - and they recommended getting a new phone.
So, I went tonight and got a new phone. It was working great - downloading apps.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped downloading apps and every time I try to download anything, it says "download unsuccessful."
So it's not the phone, I gather. I don't know what to do. I'm so frustrated.
Thanks for any and all help you can offer. I really like the phone and don't want to get a different one, but I need to be able to download apps. Clearly, customer service/tech support is worthless (they were Googling the problem to help me - I can do that!).Letstry some different steps to try to correct this problem.
First you would want to verify that you have the 3G coverage on the phone.
You can verify that information at the top, next to the signal bars.
Then could I get you to do a soft rest on the device.
Press the Power key.
Touch Power off.
Touch OK.
Press the Power key to power on the device.
Then dial *228 send and option 1, then dial *228 send and option 2.
If you are attempting to download the same application, try downloading a different application to see if you get the same error message.
Then try this step:
From the home screen, select Applications.
Select development,
Then allow 3rd party applications.
Finally before downloading applications try stopping the applications that are running in the background.
From the home screen, select Applications.
Select Running Services, Choose unnecessary applications and Force Stop. -
Wifi issues all of a sudden in lion. Please help.
Problem: i have 2 macs, 2 pc's, playstation, iphone and ipad on one network for years. No issues. Then one day both mac minis stopped getting wifi internet. Thought it was the router but all other devices still got wifi.
i created new wifi connections, deleted the old ones, made sure dhcp is not set to manual. Fixed permission and still no go. This just stopped working all of a sudden. Changed from N wifi speed to G wifi speed and it seemed to work for a few days. Then it went back out. I bought a new router think that would fix it and the same is happening.
I have gotten several different messages such as "Wi-Fi does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet." Another saying I have a set IP address and cannot to Internet.
Any ideas or suggestions?Sounds similar but still not the same issue I guess because I have the problem regardless what application I'm using, I don't even get the internal Windows sounds when I have the Creative drivers installed.
Feels strange not more people have the same problem if it's caused by a Microsoft update so maybe that's not the case after all...can't understand though what might have caused it if not that?since I haven't done anything to my computer's config lately and this problem with the sound happened from one day to the other...hmm... -
A week ago, I was burning CDs, no problem. This week, I tried to burn a CD from the same playlist, but all of the songs now have a "!" in front of the title. When I click on it, it says that the original cannot be found. More and more of the songs are having this same "!" showing up. What happened? And how do I get the music back? There are thousands of songs with this "!"!!!!! And, I'm a music teacher, so this is my life!
The ! Means that the link is broken between what is shown in the Library and where the file is located. You will need to relink the items. You can search you HD to see where the files are located then use CMD-O to relink.
Did you move any items using the Finder?
iTunes is a data base manager and if you move items outside of the iTunes interface then iTunes might not keep track/find the move.

the other day when iOS8 came out i downloaded it onto my 5th generation iPod, it has been working perfectly fine since, now today when i left it for a couple of hours, it turned itself off and now it won't turn back on. i have tried charging it but nothing is happening. it's not out of charge because the little battery usually comes up when its charging, but the screen is completely black and nothing is happening. i have tried turning it on by both buttons and it won't work. i don't know whats wrong with it. i haven't topped it or anything, so I'm assuming its the new download as it seems to be effecting other peoples devices as well. what should i do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Today -- all of a sudden -- my computer has developed serious narcolepsy!
I'm not missing any updates, security or otherwise, and I have over 10 GB of free hard disk space -- so not likely a paging/memory issue. But for the last hour or so, my laptop has been going to sleep spontaneously... even in the course of typing this response!!
It wakes up whenever I hit the space bar, but without warning, and not with any pattern I can detect, it just goes to sleep again!
Any advice!!

I am now typing this entry from my mom's PC (Go Mom!).
Again, no warning signs until this morning.
I can verify now, that the sleeping took place generally -- not just in Safari. I ran Disk Utility again, after exiting from Safari. It went to sleep multiple times while running a check and repair of Disk Permissions.
Then I ran the PMU reset for my laptop model (PB 17in 1.67GHz) -- shut down, disconnect AC, remove battery, hold down power button for five seconds, release, replace battery, reconnect AC, turn on power.
The message on the screen told me that the date had been reset -- indicating a successful PMU reset...
Not five seconds later -- sleep. And this time no amount of pressing the space bar or power button had an effect -- though I have chosen to leave the patient in coma till I get to an Apple store; so I did not hold the power button down until shutdown.
Coma sounds better than well, you know... -
All of a sudden my printer has stopped printing anything in microsoft word. i
My HP Photosmart Plus printer quit working with microsoft word. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing works. I don't know why it stopped working. Any suggestions?
Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model - there are several Photosmart Plus models? What operating system? What version of Word?
When you try to print from Word are there any error messages? Does the printer go through the motions but print blank pages?

So I just got a new iPod touch 4g from wallmart a couple weeks ago and now the screen is flickering and I assumed it was the brightness so I turned it down and it stoped. So then I turned it back up and it did it again I restarted my iPod still did it I restored my iPod still did it so what do I do HELP please
Correction: I plugged my iPod back into my mac, it backed up/updated etc. and now when I go to my music, it returns me to the home screen. What is going on!?

I used to be able to send I messages from my iPhone 4 now in settings it's telling me "waiting for activivation". I have tried lots of things to resolve this but to no avail. Please help....
If you are getting Siri when you double tap, then your home button must be sticking. Siri comes up when you hold the home button. Try tapping quickly twice. When that happens, the multi-tasking list comes up and you will see the app icon and then a thumbnail, or reduced size view of the app above it. You put your finger on that thumbnail and swipe upwards with your finger.
For that issue, you might want to do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect your data.
To be honest, your novel is a little difficult to read, and I think you put too much information in there, and a lot of it is unnecessary. Be to the point and just add information necessary to understand the issue.
