All of a sudden my Quicktime isn't working!

I get error 2096, but when I changed compatibility, it still doesn't work.  I "removed" QT and downloaded a new one and it still happens. I put my photos from my camera onto my Kodak software and when I try to open the movie I get a message saying I need the latest version of QuickTime.  I always update and I put the newest version on and it's still not working.  HELP!

My first iPhone 4S, got it at end of Jan 2012.  Battery won't last a day and drop calls, and Apple replaced it.  This replacement fixed the battery issue, but will not connect WiFi.  So, Apple replaced it again.  LOL, 3rd phone wouldn't connect to PC over USB, tried on several PC's but the USB on the phone was bad.  Now, this is my 4th phone!!!  And of course, I have this "SIM Failure" and then "No Service".  This SIM Failure has happened only when I'm talking on the phone for more than 10 minutes or so.  The phone gets very hot when this happens.  So far it only has happened 3 times.
I've just called my carrier, Sprint, and they said I don't need the SIM unless using Internationally.  They suggested removing the SIM and store it at safe place just incase I ever decide to use it Internationally.  Will removing the SIM myself void the warranty?

Go step by step and test.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers

Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and  remove the headphone.

    Question
All of a sudden, Adobe Flash is not working. Have installed the latest version to no avail. This happened at the same time on four (4) computers! Any suggestions?

Well, I kinda figured that was true, so I disabled it. Firefox does not lock up now. I suspect it might be a Google Finance page graph that is causing the problem, rather that Flash. Thanks for all your help. J

  • All of a sudden my internet connection stopped working.

All of a sudden my internet connection stopped working. It works for every other computer in the house. I have gone to other networks. I have turned on/off my computer. Nothing seems to work. When I click diagnosis connection it is not fixed. Please HELP! It always tells me that I am not connected to the internet yet I have full bars at the top.

Have you also tried restarting the router?
If that doesn't work, try creating a new "Location":
    System Preferences > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on + to add a new location, call it "Home" (or anything else you prefer)
    Click on Advanced
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
    Select TCP/IP tab.
    Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease.  After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
    Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP
Click on OK and Apply, etc.
    Good luck
    Bob

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • I recently updated to snow leopard version 10.6.3 and quicktime isn't working.  What do I need to do?

I recently updated to snow leopard version 10.6.3 and quicktime player isn't working.  What do I need to do to get it working again?  I have quicktime player version 10.0.

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link  even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
A Mac OS X v10.6, OS X Lion, and OS X Mountain Lion-compatible version of QuickTime Player 7 is available for use with older media or with AppleScript-based workflows. QuickTime Player 7 can be used to playback formats such as QTVR, interactive QuickTime Movies, and MIDI files. Also, it supports QuickTime 7 Pro registration codes for access to QuickTime Pro functionality.

  • Trying to view clip, but quicktime isn't working

From the support.apple.com website, I keep trying to view a clip about importing CDs using ITunes, but when I click on the link, I get a screen that says I should download Quicktime to view it. However, I have already downloaded and installed the latest version of Quicktime, so I'm not sure what's going on. I tried this on a few other video clips and the same thing happened.
For information: I'm trying to open the clip in Firefox, on a PC, running Windows XP. I notice that Quicktime is not listed as a plug-in in Firefox, though I'm not sure what that means.
    Thanks, David.

You have to be a little more forceful than you think need to so keep trying. If you're not sure how maybe this will help?

It's for an iPhone 4 but it will be the same for your model.

  • Quicktime isn't working

I had to start my computer with the disc.  I elected to reinstall everything and had my old files put in a previous system folder.  First I couldn't open itunes because it was a older version.  then i copied it from the previous system folder.  Then I tried again and error message said I need quicktime 7.5.5 version.  I download it from apple.  But it will not allow the controls to open or play songs.  There is a brief message when I restart but I can not read that fast.  Can anyone help.

Let's try installing a QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple website:

  • TS1389 I tried all of this and it still isn't working?

I have tried every single thing listed here and it won't play any of the songs I just bought.

If you can't redownload the songs even after deleting your current copies of the songs from your library, as per the instructions in the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
... then, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Quicktime isn't working properly

Ok, I know this question has been asked a few times, but I can't find anywhere that it has been resolved...so I will ask in the hope that someone out there knows how to fix it and will share with the rest of us.
When I got my new MacBook in June 06 Qiucktime worked fine, then after doing a routine Software update it just decided that it didn't want to play anymore and for most of the streaming things the Quicktime symbol would fade and a huge question mark appear. Most of the stuff on my hardrive still worked, but stuff via the internet didn't.
I have done a few updates since then and it is compleetly installed with to the minute information (just did another one today). Now some stuff that didn't work before will work now, but other things won't. When I go onto Youtube I can't play anything and the faded QT symbol with the ? appears. Some adds that you get on website also have this.
I have tried heaps of things...restoring to factory setting, changing settings one thing at a time, uninstalling it then reinstaling it. My dad has a Mac that is about 3 months older than mine and I have tried copying the settings on his and even though I have the same version as him, his works and mine doesn't!!!
It's just annoying that I can't fix this problem!!!
What do I do....Can someone help?

  • All of a sudden my itunes won't work ,it asks me to reinstall but still wont work

I keep getting the message "Apple Mobile Device (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to start system services"
and I've tried reinstalling a few times now.  I don't know what else to try??

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Suddenly Wi-Fi isn't working

When I left for class this morning, I checked the bus schedule like usual (on the iPad), with no problems. It worked perfectly. I turned it off and left for class.
I get back from classes today and turn my iPad, to come to a "Cannot connect to Linksys" message. I go into wireless settings, it has me type in my password, to which I get an "Incorrect password" message. So, I try several more times to type in the password, double checking it through my router settings page online -- I am typing it correctly, there is no doubt of that.
I then temporarily disable the security settings on my wireless router, thinking that would at the very lease rule out whether I was typing it incorrectly. Disabling the security did not help, when trying to connect afterward I got the "Cannot connect to Linksys" message again.
The next thing I tried was resetting the router itself. I restored it to its factory settings, thinking maybe it was having a problem. This did not work -- it was still giving the can't connect message.
Next, I tried resetting the iPad's network settings. This gave the same results: it did not work. Then I tried resetting ALL of the iPad's settings -- no luck. Finally, I backed up my iPad and wiped it clean. When I rebooted it, I didn't restore it as the settings I had backed up (I went back and did the same process again later to put everything back on it) but instead did it as though it was a brand new iPad, to rule out the possibility of any of the files on it having messed something up. This did not work either, it still produced the cannot connect message.
Please someone help me with this. I bought this iPad to use the internet, it becomes worthless without it.

    etherealities wrote:
Well, I don't have any other wireless devices to try -- I am connected on my computer, however that's through the cord, not wirelessly.
If it makes any difference it doesn't show up the information for ANY of the wireless networks around here (all of them are passworded, so I can't use them to test whether the iPad would connect to them.)
None of the other wifi hot spots will show the DHCP info until the password is entered on the iPad. If your iPad can connect to other free hotspots in your city, then there likely nothing wrong with your iPad. If you have a friend with a wifi device, even a mobile phone that can connect to wifi, you can test it to see if your router is ok.
