All of a sudden: no options to sync calendar and contacts

Newbie here (old time palmist).  Currently with treo 750, vista, syncing with outlook 07.
All (has been) well for past 6 months. Suddenly, it no longer syncs my calendar and contacts.
In the activesync options window, they (calendar and contacts) no longer exist as an option (only e-mail and tasks) to check off.
Any suggestions? Where are they hiding??
Thanks in advance,
bz

Try deleting the partnership
1. Make sure the device is not connected to the computer
2. In the treo go to PROGRAMS > ACTIVE SYNC> press the MENU button > go to OPTIONS.
3. Under OPTIONS,select the name of the partnership ex: WINDOWS PC.. highlight it then tap on DELETE.
4. Make sure all the partnerships had been deleted.
5. Then connect the phone again, just follow the steps and you should have the option now to check calendar or contacts.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • How to sync calendars and contacts between ios 3.1.3 and Mountain Lion?

I have a 1st generation iPod touch under iOS 3.1.3 and a MacBook Pro under Mountain Lion 10.8.3 with iTunes 11.0.1.
Since the upgrade to Mountain Lion syncing calendars and contacts between the iPod Touch and the Mac no longer works.
I don't want my personal information in Apple's or anybody else's Cloud and anyway iOS 3.1.3 can't use Apple's Cloud.
So I can no longer sync without a) replacing my iPod Touch which itself works perfectly well and does not need replacing and b) using Apple's Cloud which I do not wish to use for personal data.
This is a MAJOR AND DAMAGING step backwards by Apple, which they should correct IMMEDIATELY if they wish to keep their increasingly fed-up older customers.
    Time-wasting work-around:
As I never trust operating system upgrades to not destroy something that "just works", I have Snow Leopard still on another bootable partition on my machine, and Lion on a bootable partition on an external Thunderbolt disc.
In order to sync, I backup Calendars and Contacts under Mountain Lion under which I do all my normal work, switch to either Snow Leopard or Lion, update iCal and Address Book from the backup files saved under Mountain Lion, sync the iPod Touch, and switch back to Mountain Lion.
Lots of time wasted with 2 successive re-boots, but at least HERE IS A SOLUTION THAT WORKS - I have seen lots of posts protesting bitterly about this totally unacceptable backwards step - what on earth do Apple hope to gain from this? More sales of newer equipment to replace perfectly functioning older ones? Certainly not from many of us.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • IPhone 3G doesn't sync calendars and contacts via mobileme

    Hi.
Since the initial setup, my new iPhone 3G doesn't sync up with MobileMe.
After some trouble in the beginning MM works fine now between my Powerbook and my iMac but although my MM-settings on the iPhone are correct and set to sync calendars and contacts, it simply doesn't.
I have tried everything on the iPhone:
    Push (nothing happens).
Disconnecting push, using manual or automatic (15 min, 30 min, 1 hour).
Deleting my MobileMe account on the phone, thus erasing all contacts and calendars, then retyping everything correctly (and getting no message to suggest otherwise).
ITunes too tells me, that calendars and contacts are sync'ed through MM and I can't sync iCal and Contacts using the cable either.
Also, when I open System/MobileMe/Synchronize/Advanced on either of my computers to see the list of devices connected to my MobileMe, it only shows my computers on that list - not the iPhone!
Can anyone help me with this or do I just have to wait for Apple to realize that MM doesn't work on iPhone 3 (2.2) - which kind of defeats the whole purpose of getting it in the first place?
    Thanks,

This is a list of registered computers with your MM account, not a list of registered devices. Your iPhone will not be shown in the list of registered computers, because it isn't a computer.
I thought so, but wanted to mention it in case I was wrong.
Have you tried turning Contacts and Calendars off for over the air syncing with your MM account preferences on your iPhone followed by turning both back on?
I have tried everything I can think of, and that includes the above.
When doing this, however, the phone prompts me to accept that all calendar events and contacts on the phone are erased in order to sync new information from MobileMe.
I accept, but trouble is that no new info comes the other way, although the "spinning wheel" is running for ages.
I can again say, that the iPhone has been set up to MobileMe using the correct password and addres.
Neither Push, nor set intervals or manual sync have worked at any time.
The only way, I can put my calendar and contacts onto it is by deleting the MobileMe account on the phone and syncing via USB

How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
     Cheers, Tom

All I want to do is share my calendar and contacts w/my other computer that a family member uses?

If you all log into iCloud with the same AppleID, then you can all have access to the same Contacts, Calendars, Mail, Notes, Safari Bookmarks. Or, you can only select some of those, but individualized iCloud email would not be possible. That's probably not really what you want to do, though.
You can also just share out your Calendars via iCloud, no need to use same AppleID. They can subscribe to them and I believe you can authorize them to make changes.
Looking at Contacts, it does look like you could create another iCloud account, independent of the iCloud account in the iCloud system prefs, but I don't have another to test at the moment. If that works for the Contacts, they would have their own set and yours too.

  • Syncing calendar and contacts from windows phone 8...

How do I set up my windows phone to sync calendar and contacts with BT mail
    Thanks

Outlook 2003 and 2007 is supported. Outlook 2002 is not supported.
You must select Outlook for syncing contact information and calendar events under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences.
And copied from my previous post.
+If Outlook does not include any contact information or calendar events, before syncing enter one contact and one calendar event. Make these up if needed which can be deleted later.+
+This should provide a merge prompt when syncing, which you want to select.+

  • How to sync calendar and contact with Galaxy S2 and iCal and Address Book, how to sync calendar and contact with Galaxy S2 and iCal and Address Book

I have a Galaxy S2, gmail account, hotmail account and want to know the best way to be able to sync calendar and contacts from the Galaxy S2 with iCal and Address Book. I want to be able to make changes on any device and be able to sync the changes.  Hotmail is my main email account and would prefer to use tha account but I know that the Galaxy prefers Google.  Any ideas?

You have several ways to sync your phone to a mac.
You can use Samsung Kies for mac. You can download it here.
You can also use Google for it. Open Adress Book, click Adress Book on the left top of the screen, click Prefferences and open the Accounts tab. You'll see a "Synchronize with Google" checkbox, click it, enter you mail and password and you are good to go.
On iCal go to Preferences (top left, click iCal to see it), open the Accounts Tab, you'll see a blank list on the left, at the bottom of it there is a "+" sign, click on it and select Google on the Account Type dropdown list, enter your account details and you are done.
Third way to do it is by using third party software such as SyncMate.
Hope any of these alternatives solve your problem!
(The iCal and Address Book instructions are for Snow Leopard, but it should be almost the same on Lion)

  • Can you sync calendar and contacts over the air to...

I'm considering getting an E71 or E63, but apart from email I really want to be able to sync calendar (and contacts)over the air, not just from to/from Outlook on my PC - is this possible ? It's not really explained clearly in any of the specs and doco I've been reading.
Also, if I receive a calendar invitation as email, will it appear on the Nokia and can I accept it, and is it written to the calendar locally and at the POP server, or is this kind of behaviour only supported by Windows Mobile devices?

POP (post-office protocol) is only for email retrieval (and SMTP, simple message transfer protocol, for sending).
If you want to sync calendar/contacts, then it is done over SyncML (synchronization markup language).
Also "proprietary" synchronization protocols, like Microsoft's ActiveSync allows message/contacts/calendar/tasks synchronization.
Nokia supports ActiveSync over-the-air through the Mail for Exchange software.

  • Syncing Calendar and Contacts between iPad and iMac

I receive invites to meeting on multiple email accounts (I often have accounts on client site). All invites (to date) are *.ics which as I understand is not supported by Mac (ughhh).
In any case, I use entourage 2008 on my iMac, I have the latest version of iTunes and the lovely tether that came with my iPad. I also have signed up for a trial of MobileMe.
All emails end up in Entourage in the iMac where they are automatically placed in the calendar application in Entourage. So if I look at this calendar or my BlackBerry I am up to date!! Awesome.
Now I have enable calendar and contact sharing in Entourage which I thought would automatically populate iCal (not so). (if anyone know of a great application for ics please share!!)
As for the MobileMe - I have not figured out how this puppy works yet - I was again hoping that this would automatically update - i.e. a push system.
When I plug the iPad in to the iMac iTunes opens up (lots of i's - starting to feel narcissistic) - I then ask it to sync my calendar and contacts - at this point it is hit and miss ... it seemed to capture some of the entries one time ... then the second time I did it it captured only the first ones that were already on the iPad and duplicated them - now I have two of each appointment. Same thing happened with music but less important at this point.
I checked on MobileMe and it also only has the few appointment from the first sync and no new ones ...
I was hoping someone could provide a "made for dummies" step by step process on how to effectively and automatically as possible sync my iPad (I realize it is not a computer but I have to rationalize the 1000 bucks I spent or the boss (my wife) will not be happy.
If you could start the process with how to delete all appointments/contacts on my iPad so I can start fresh that would be great!!
Please do not assume I a actually know too much in the process (as you can see I am a bit of a newbie to syncing)
    Great Appreciation in Advance!!!!

So I have begun the step by step:
Notes as I went (I wish we could do screen captures in here ...)
+*Set up sync from Entourage to iCal and Address Book Set up sync with iTunes or MobileMe, not both.*+
When I go into sync in entourage it gives me the option to "Synchronize contact with iTunes and MobileMe" (not one or the other just both - I have it checked)
*+First, on the iMac, run iSync, choose it's preferences, and reset sync services. That cleans up the sync database on the iMac+*
Reset Sync Service under the Advanced section is "greyed out" and as such I can not activate it? Running V3.02 --- OK turned off Entourage and iSync - when I restarted iSYnc it allowed me to reset.
+*In Entourage, open Preferences, go to Sync services, and choose to sync the Calendar and Contacts.*+
It prompts me at this point to Combine, Delete entourage, or Delete iCal and MobileMe (I chose Combine for lack of a better choice)
+*If you want to use MobileMe, then switch off syncing in iTunes. Open the MobileMe preference pane, and on the sync tab, hit the advanced button and reset again. When asked, choose to overwrite MM with the information on the iMac*+
I could not find a place in iTunes to turn off syncing? The only thing there was syncing og iPod but it was greyed out.
    Let's try ....
    OK - contacts seem good.
The caledar is stillhit and miss. I noticed I had created an invite to myself in the calendar - sort of a reminder to do something but still created an invite - this one does not show up and few others that are series not showing up?
I am closer however and will see how this works ...
Apple - it would sure be nice if you would just get with the worked on the *.ics files --- this is a huge issue on both the business and consumer side ...

  • Syncing Calendars and Contacts without the complete home folder on the server

I've been trying to set up syncing of calendars and contacts using Mavericks server. I've read a lot of posts on various ways of doing this but am at a loss as to the how the various parts of the solutions work which may be why I haven't been able to get things to work.
I've installed Server.app and got Open Directory set up. I want to sync the calendars for two users on a couple of client machines (both running Snow Leopard at the moment) and three mobile devices. The clients were set up before the server and so the user accounts are local. Putting the home folders and all the files they contain on the server is not an option as there's not enough disk space. Ideally I'd like to have all the user files on the local machines and only the data I need to sync on the server. Is this possible? All of the information I've read on migrating local users to network users suggests that their complete home folder needs to be put on the server and I've not found any way to set up the syncing successfully without making them network users.

Thanks for the answer Simon. That seems simple enough but there are some things which aren't clear.
If I create accounts on the server for the users independently (ie not ownership of the home folder) they're going to have different UID's. Surely this means that even with the same account name and password, they're going to be treated as unique users. Does that not affect who has write access? I don't know how the Calendar and Contact servers work so this may be irrelevant.
How do you "have the server host their calendar and contact details"? Copying the files for the existing local users to the new users on the server will leave them with invalid permissions.
I have read that using the Calendar and Contact components of Server.app is not a supported way of syncing across machines and that they're intended to be used for shared information rather than syncing. But maybe there is no way to avoid an "unsupported method" without moving the home folder. Is this a method you're using?
I'll do a bit of testing with this but would also be grateful for any additional hints.

  • Can't Sync Calendar and Contacts with Outlook 2007

I have an iPhone and I usually sync my calendar and contacts with my Outlook 2007. But since a few days wherever I change or add a new information (PC or iPhone) it doesn't sync. Nothing changes in any device. No error is displayed. Does someone know what can be possibly happening, since it has worked perfectly since 2009? I have tried to remove the calendars and add it again and didn't have success.

  • Can only sync calendar and contacts...not music or audio books

I have an itouch that I was only able to fully sync once. Then I could no longer sync music or audio books. I updated all software and then did a full restore on my itouch. Still no success. I have tried this on three different computers that I have used with (no problems) my older ipods but I cannot get this sync to work on any of them.
When I sync, I get a message on the itouch that a "sync is in progress". However, no music or audiobooks are transferred. Only calendar and contact info is synced. I checked the itunes settings for the itouch and they are set to sync all songs and playlists.
Spent several hours scouring troubleshooting hints to no avail. Please help!
