All of a sudden when I download photos into iMac they are duplicated?

As far as I know I did not change any settings but if I did, where do I go to stop the duplicating?

What can you do? Explain what you are seeing and what you have for starters
What version of iPhoto? Is OS X 10.6.8 as you state correct for your OS? Where are you seeing the duplicates? Are you importing the same photos multiple times? What is the source of theses photos?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

All of a sudden, when I log in, my iMac is asking for my iCloud password. Every time!

This started earlier this week. Ive never had a problem before. Was there an update that broke some thing. I can't seem to get it to remember it.

I didn't think to look in the keychain. I don't really use it for keeping passwords and the like. I use a separate app for that. I found an expired certificate of some kind, deleted it, logged out of iCloud in the system preferences and let it do all of the deleting it wanted to. Logged back in and bingo, no message. However, for some reason it enabled the Guest user access on my computer. No big deal, just turned it back off.

Even though it is the same music in iTunes, iTunes does not see it as the exact same library because you had to re-add all the songs to it.
You will need to erase and sync and you iPod will simply end up as it is now.
It's like of your house burns down and you rebuild it exactly the same, it is still not the "same" house it was.

I BELIEVE it orders them in date taken order, not name order.
You can look for a third party app that will allow you to choose/alter the sort order, or use a program to edit the properties of the photos to give them all the same date, which will then allow the iPad to default to name order. I found a free program that'll do that, but you may want to preserve the original dates on your photos so the other photos app might be yoru best bet. I'm not familiar with any but perhaps someone can recommend one to you.

When I send photos or videos they are received sideways...why?

It doesn't show them in my Iphone that way, and they look fine when I'm sending them, but everyone complains that they come into their mailboxes sideways. If anyone can help me figure out why this is happening, I'd really appreciate it.

When downloading files in Safari - they are deleted - with the message "contained virus" - whatever site I download from - even my own files from online storage sites. Very irritating. Any suggestions?

When I download file sin Safari they are deleted automatically. The message I get is: "deleted because it contained a virus".
How do I solve this?
I have uninstalled and installed Safari a couple of times - to no avail.
I have no trouble in other navigators.

All of a sudden when i try to attach an iphoto to an email or facebook i get a message that say i need i photo 5 or later and my pictures are not available

First I have Mac OSX 10.6.8
I photo 8.1.2
All of a sudden when I attempt to download a photo from Iphoto to an email attachment or to facebook, I get a message that says I need to :
"open Iphoto 5 or later to see photos from your Iphoto library in this list" it shows in light grey.
AS I mentioned above, I have 8.1.2 and my photos are all available when I go to the photo app.
I read to delete iphoto from the library which i did but that didn't help and maybe was a mistake? And if it was how do I fix that?
I have searched the web to no resolve. I also see that I do not have the latest version of iphoto but when I check for updates it says there are none available.
What happened and how can I fix it! HELP!
I'm not very computer savvy so I appreciate simple instructions.

1. Try reinstall iLIfe 09 from your install disk
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
If that fails, then you're reinstalling the OS.

When printing from my Mac all of a sudden when printing from IPhoto the picture is really dark. The test page off my HP color laser jet is just fine. It is not the printer although older. All of sudden it does not want to print correctly.

I have printed many times and now all of a sudden it is not printing. A test copy from my printer comes out fine. I really think for some reason something has changed just in the last few days. Just communication with IPhoto and the computer.

As long as your cartriges are full, put a photo on you desktop, highlight it , click COMMAND P and the print preferences window should drop down, and select your printer and photo paper.

So I log into iCloud and try to see how these attachments show up. They seem to be there since I see this:
but when I try and download the files, they appear in my download folder as 0 byte files, ending in .pdf.html.
This is very annoying. I saw and could read these files yesterday, but cannot today.
