Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Just changed external hard drives and am setting up a new library to pull all the new locations together. How do I get the library to be subdivided by day, month, year? It came up just ordered by date but not subdivided. Seemed simpe but I have been at it for hours with no success.

History:
started in LR4 in PC
Moved to Mac and OSX with LR5 (Mac Pro Book retina with solid state drive
so fast)
I had my PC original photos on an external PC drive that was filling up and
only could be red by mac but not written.
Just bought a 1tb drive and formated it for Mac
Moved through finder all photos and LR catalogs from PC 640gig drive to new
mac formated 1tb and then imported them which did not take a long time and
did not bring originals into the mac. This was a new catalogue. I still
have the old one and the files on the PC external drive.
LR finds and displays these originals (a mix of raw and jpegs with a few
tifs. A 14 year collection, perhaps 18,000 images) but the list is not
subdivided in any way, just one large group of photos in date taken
sequence. The old catalogue was subdivided by day, month, year. I may
have created duplicates but have not checked. I had a backup copy of some
lost photos which imported.
My goal is to have all photos broken out by date. I must retain edited
results and would like to maintain meta data.
Is this enough info? What else would you like?

UPdate the iPad wjith new iOS upgrade that where shown under settings on the iPad, but after I did the upgrade the screen has only shown the apple and I can't get back. This has been the case since yesterday. Have turned off t.he iPad many times, but every timebwkhen Ibturn it on again the screen onöy show the apple icon and nothing else happends. What should I do? Go to Settings, iCloud, and then Storage and Backup. You will then see a button to backup your iPad. It may be that you have much stuff (i.e. photos, apps) for it to do a full backup but you will be able to tell what the estimated backup should be and what it will consist of so that you can choose to prune down items. If you don't want to backup and get rid of the messages you can just turn backup off from this area as well.

I have downloaded an album in to my iTunes library. And put it in a playlist on my computer.
But I can't get it to sync with my iPad. The other albums and songs are on the playlist, but not this one album for some reason.
The album shows up on my iPad as an album just fine, but isn't included in the playlist like it is on my computer.

Thank you for the question. It sounds like you would like to delete some songs off of your iPad. I have a couple of suggestions.
First, I recommend swiping the individual songs on the album to get the delete option:
Remove a song that’s been downloaded. Swipe left, then tap Delete.
If the you are not getting a delete option and song has a cloud icon to the right of it, this indicates the song is being streamed from iTunes in the Cloud.
You can choose to hide all songs that are not downloaded on to your iPad in Settings:
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.

Alternatively, if the song was purchased from iTunes, you can hide the song by accessing the iTunes Store on the computer:

My widgets are not working as well, i looked on forms and it seams that the 10.5 update fix there problems. I also did an archive and install from 10.4... One of the major reasons i purchased the upgrade was to use widgets to clip parts of safari, i'am totaly bummed because all forums i find end with the question un answered. i'am a little bummed becuase there are a couple of things that worked with 10.4 that are not working in 10.5 (like some meg moives not playing.
i do not wish to create a new account because i do not want to reinstall all my software, photoshop, final cut, dvd studio pro.. etc.
i hope to find the fix some how.
I have opened up the console application and when i select widgets load or delete them i see no activity in the console. I'am not familiar with the console app. or command lines.
is there any more info on this matter? is there any support from apple?

I found today that my "open new tab" button was not working, so i exited out of firefox and it downloaded a new update, even after that it still did not work so i tried restarting the computer and it still doesnt work
The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

Our Windows PC crashed with all our music on it. There are copies of both purchased (thru iTunes store) and from our own CDs on an external HD in a backup file. They are not linked to a Media file. Is there any way I can put this music on my new computer?

SteveIt sure looks like StompBox to me. Look at it again. I've watched the video of the ad 5 times in full screen and I still think it's StompBox.
Go to the App Store on the iPad. Tap on What's Hot at the top. Swipe down to the middle of the screen. Tap on Apps from iPad TV ads. Look through the apps yourself.
If it isn't StompBox, then it must be GarageBand. They are only showing two music/mixer type apps in there. The only other music related app in there is Spin Play. -
