All of my files in itunes disappeared. help me? please?
can anybody please please please help me? i tried downloading the new version of itunes. around the second week of feb, that kinda failed because it was taking so long because of my internet connection and because i needed to be somewhere. so now everything is gone. and i mean everything. songs, apps, movies, and my games. ive worked to hard on my phone just to loose it all. so i didnt sync my phone anymore. i tried looking at the store for available downloads but theres nothing there.
In theory no, in practice make sure you have backed up your computer first.
Why are you asking this? It isn't easy to uninstall iTunes, at least not on a Mac it isn't.

New itunes is trying to wipe the ipod. But have many many playlists (many hours making) which I want to save. Any help would be appreciated.If you want to just extract the playlists from your iPod, plug it in iTunes. When it appears under devices, right->click on it and choose Export Playlists. Save them to a location such as your desktop and them import them into your library once you have copied and imported all of your music back into it.

Did you back these books up to your computer before updating to iOS 8? It is always suggested that you back everything up before updating, so if something goes wrong, you can easily put them back on.
You should just be able to plug the device into the computer you sync to and they should sync as long as you have "Sync Books" ticked in the books section. -
i baught Seagate Backup plus 2T hard drive to use as my Backup time machine. But its not working. when i connect to time machine its not coping files, it keep saying preparing files. Can someone help me please...
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Suddenly my Nikon Coolpix will not upload on to my 09 iphoto it takes for ever then it just shows blank squares no pics and a message that states it cannot read the JPEG files. Can anyone help me, please. I have never had this problem before.
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
You could also try reformat the Card with your camera

I formerly used Zune, which i find much more user friendly than iTunes. I bought most of my music through that program, but have since tried to import the files to iTunes so i can put them on my iPhone. All of the files have the iTunes icon & under properties say that the program that will automatically play it is iTunes, but when i click play iTunes opens up but nothing plays. They play just find on Zune & Windows Media Player so i know the track are fine. Why won't iTunes play them? i'm honestly so frustrated.
If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library -
Adobe turned all of my files into pdf, need help.
I downloaded adobe 9.5 this morning and it turned all of my files and shortcuts into pdf files. I can't open anything without taking a 5 min mission through my computer. Need help please.

All of my iWeb websites have disappeared, help please!!!

I have created some very complex websites using iWeb that took a lot of time. I turned my mac on yesterday and started iWeb in the same way that I always do and a pop up box came up saying that iWeb couldn't find the domain file. I wasn't sure what this meant at the time and hit cancel and now all of my sites have been wiped from iWeb.
After doing a bit of research I found out about the domain file. I tried to look for it on my Mac but at first it was no where to be seen. To start iWeb again I had to start a new website. It was only after this that a new domain file popped up, but it only had information regarding the new site on.
I have the sites I created published, backed up and saved. So a few questions,
1. Does anyone know why this has happened?
2. Is it possible to import my iWeb published websites back into iWeb?
3. Why is this program so under-developed, it has so much potential?!!? (You don't need to answer that one, just me venting a bit of frustration )When you say that you have the sites you create "Published, backed up and saved" do you have your domain.sites files backed up and saved?
If not, then you are out of luck. No it is not possible for iWeb to import published websites back into iWeb. iWeb has no import facility and creates html upon publishing.
Your domain files cannot just be deleted like this, especially from iWeb, not unless you physically trash it or delete your sites from your domain file.
All your domain files are stored under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Look here and your domain files should be there - be careful to look under your User/Library as iWeb is not found under your System Library.
The only drawback that I can see with iWeb is the inability to import published sites. Anything else that you want to do can be worked around with the use of either html code and the html snippet or javascript code etc.
What you have to remember is that iWeb was originally developed for personal websites and nothing else - people without that much technical knowledge of web design who just wanted to get some kind of good looking site up and published with a few photos etc. This is why .Mac and now MobileMe was created so that you have ease of one click publishing.
Apple have improved it with each subsequent version, by including certain extra features with iWeb 09, however, it is still primarily meant to be for personal sites.
iWeb can be used to make some very good looking business sites too and you don't have to host on MobileMe.
iWeb is due another upgrade soon and there is some speculation that as 2010 was missed out as an upgrade the next version might be iWeb 11, so we'll all just have to wait and see what happens. Perhaps January next year and there are rumours that it was undergoing a complete overhaul. -

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)? -
I need to know how I can connect my ipod and have it upload the music on it to my new computer. I have 900+ songs on it right now and alot are from CD's that I no longer have access to. I have had this ipod for forever and I want all the music to show up on my new computer but everytime I connect it says my only options are to sync and erase everything or only transfer the music that was bought on the itunes store which isn't alot since like I said most is from CD's that I don't have anymore. Is there any way to make this happen? Please help!!!

Can somebody help......regarding the above question..... I have had I tunes on this computer for several years without a problem. I do use webroot as an antivirus software. I have Windows Vista operating system and I am using the latest version of Itunes available. When ever I open Itunes, my music, books, ect, ect. files are always gone and I have to ask Itunes to find them on my computer almost every time I open Itunes. This problem has been going on now for about the last 6 months. Nothing else wrong with computer. Another issue associated: I can create a playlist one night, and the next day I open Tune, it's gone. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you.
It can be that the library path, or files, are corrupted. What happens if you set a different path to save the library?
