All of my headphones are breaking! What should I do? (More info below)

My iPod seems to break headphones- I've gone through multiple pairs. Usually one side of the headphones stop working for no reason and then a few days later the other side stops working. This has only happened with my iPod touch (5th gen-newest). I've replaced the same iPod before and the problem hasn't gone away. I'm pretty sure it is not me because it is only with the new iPod, and I make sure they don't get twisted. What should I do?  

Are you saying that the headphones do not work in other devices? If so then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Bring the bad headphones. If your iPod is defective and not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost

    Follow the instructions in the above link to deauthorize all and then authorize only the computers that you physically have access to and need authorized.

    However, if what you actually want to do is to fix/sort out your problem, why no try posting a question on that subject?
    For starters - you can re-name the tracks in your iTunes library, so it is possible to correct the changes that you must have made that mean that songs are now "unknown artists and albums."

    There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

    A round-about problem
    I thank you all for your very kind replies. I have rewritten my issue in lower case as suggested by all of you. I hope I will be helped.
    Recently, I thought I had graduated from final cut express and final cut express HD when . I decided to install final cut pro. Perhaps a wishfull thinking!
    I have a power book g4 v 10.4.8, processor 1.5 ghz sdram with internal memory of 80 storage disk and 1 gb ddr sdram. I also have an external LaCie with a 200 storage capacity.
    In the process of installing final cut pro, I stupidly changed the name of the media file. Maybe this action caused all my clips, video and audio, files go offline. The options given to me by the Reconnect Files Table , to get my files back, are : Single Search Location and Search.
    I tried and tried both with no success. I would be grateful to any ones who might be able to help me to recover my clips without going through the pain of recapturing them from the tape. There are several tapes to be recaptured.
    Now, for those of you who may have the patience, please read more below to see what I have gone through.
    When I try to get to the files, I get the first warning: “The file of this project is from an earlier version. Would like to update this project?” And then it continues: “Note, once saved, this file cannot be opened by previous version. To avoid overwriting the original project file , you can choose Save Project As from the File Menue when the project updating is complete”. (It was at this point where I changed the files names formatted by the previous versions).
    When I say Yes, another box appears: Update Project. It reads as follows:
    “This project contains one or more sequences which this version of Final Cut Pro can render with Motion Tap (i.e. scalable, rotation, etc). Please choose a scalable quality (“fastest” recommended is the quality level 4.5. New Quality checked inside the little Box are: Best. Normal Fastest or linear." I choose Normal. The unchecked little Box reads: "Remove existing files ( this action is not undoable, it says”.
    (By the way, in my project no sequences, have been set up as yet; they are all clips inside the bins with red slash in all clips).
    When I press OK, “Offline Clips” Box opens and says the following:
    “Some of the media of your project references either changed, moved, or gone away. You can either Reconnect these files, or Continue with them being Offline”. Below this it continues:
    “Forget files.” Below that there is an unchecked box which says: “Media Files 69 Offline”.
    When I press Connect instead of Continue, the Reconnect Files Box opens with 69 Offline files. In this Reconnect Files Box there are two sections’
    The first section has a little unchecked Skip Files Box and another little checked Box which reads: “Search Single Location”.
    When I open it, two paths are given to recover my files:
    My name>LaCie> Final Cut Document>Folder>Gray files which cannot be revealed, and which I cannot open. I go on and onl ike a checken without a head in a circle without being able to get to the files off Offline.
    I have the same problem with the second path: My name>Macintosh HD>FCP 5>gray files.
    What should I do more to get my clip files back in the FCP format without being stuck to Offline files for ever?

  • What should I trust more? FCP waveform, pro waveform/mon, consumer monitor?

    What should I trust more when it comes to preparing a project for DVD (exporting a timeline to Compressor then using DVD Studio Pro)?
    My bars look fine on the internal waveform and vectorscope. So does the image. (And everything looked fine when I captured the footage on an external waveform/vectorscope).
    When I play a burned DVD, all the levels (blacks and whites) are low on my home 1080p LCD (the DVD is SD, anamorphic).
    When I play the DVD on 4 different consumer CRTs and LCDs, the image looks very close to what FCP shows on the computer screen.
    At work, when I play the DVD through an SDI framesync, through a Sony 8000 switcher, into a waveform vectorscope, the blacks are -7.5 and the whites are at 105. The chroma is just a tiny bit high.
    Why is there such inconsistency between these three? How do you deal with it when you want to make a pro quality DVD?
    And, most importantly, which program is making this change in levels: compressor, or DVD Studio Pro?
    The target audience for my DVD is the consumer market, but it'll also be sent to industry people, so it needs to look as good as possible.

    Exiting my exile as this thread is interesting.
    A couple of things. If you work at a place with a big ole 8000 switcher, there should be some staff engineers to help you track down your black level problem, aren't there? Also, there's no need to hit a switcher crosspoint simply to monitor your levels in a waveform/vectorscope.
    In FCP, black is digital which means zero IRE. The output of your dvd player is analog which means black is 7.5 IRE. Darn near every dvd player made has a menu choice to manipulate black levels, you should probably find out where your studio dvd player is set.
    The dvd player output is analog, why not plug the thing into an analog waveform?
    If you must convert the dvd output to SDI, you need to make sure the frame shaker TBC controls are set to unity, did you do this?
    If you must hit a switcher crosspoint, (my knowledge of the Sony switchers is very very thin) there are handles within the switcher for TBC controls; make sure that crosspoint is set to unity as well.
    Black levels are tricky, without being there it's hard to tell you exactly why. Have a house engineer walk through the steps with you.
    But, to answer your first question, the built-in scopes within FCP are innaccurate, trust calibrated hardware scopes first. Again, if you must use a frame shaker, you MUST set the TBC controls to unity before you can make any sort of qualitative judgements.

    You cannot uninstall the update. Apple does not support downgrading. What troubleshooting have you done? Start with a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. Are you syncing contacts with iCloud?

    Depending upon what country that you are in (TV shows can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the shows from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download TV shows or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those shows and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

    I wanted to download all upgrades and now the apps for which upgrades were available are stuck. The download never completes so we can neither use the app or remove it. What should i do ?

    Try any or all of these suggestions. They have worked for others in the past, but YMMV.
    1. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    2. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    3. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    4. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    5. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    6. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.
