All of my "Your Music" information is gone

I use Spotify on my phone. Yesterday I had to do a hard reset on my phone. When I redownloaded Spotify and logged in I found that all of my Songs and followed Playlists were missing. I didn't think wiping my phone would wipe my spotify information... Is that the case? If not, what should I do to get back all of my Songs? I have logged in and out. I have also logged into my Facebook version, just to see if I was in the wrong account by accident. Nothing is there either.

Hello & welcome to the Community!
Just to be sure, have you tried checking on another device?
Also, maybe restarting the app and the phone might help.
Hope this helps! ♫

  • My question is the my daughter has an ipod touch with alot of music and games on it, but the computer that had itunes in it and all the apps and music is now gone. How can I transfer all her games and music her new computer without loosing her stuff?

My daughter has an ipod touch with alot of games and music on it. The computer it was synced to is forever gone and on her new computer some of the games dont show up along with her music. She is worried if she connects it to her new computer all will be lost. Is there anyway for this to not happen? The ipod is on its last life due to a cracked screen, and as for the games she has spent money on them such as smurf village and others. When i looked at game center on my phone about less than half of that game showed up. Is there anyway to fix these things before its to late and eveything is gone forever?
    THANK YOU.

  • All of my address book information is gone!  Any fixes?

This seems to happen once in a while whenever I download an Apple update. I opened Mail to send an email and all of my addresses are gone. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    This sometimes helps:
    Quit Address Book.
In folder ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook drag file AddressBook.data to the desktop. Rename AddressBook.data.previous to AddressBook.data and restart AB. If your contacts are not back quit AB again and repeat the drag/rename process, this time with AddressBook.data.beforesave

  • HT4901 What do I do if all my calendar and contact information is gone.

My business depends on syncing my data.  Of late, I can have all my canender events and contacts dissapprear from my iPhone.  I have been to the Apple Store twice.  It gets fixed for a day or two, then everything is gone.  I have deleted my account then bringit back, turn off and on syncing and thrown it out the window (no, not really, but the impluse is there).  Anyone know of something more realiable at keeping data on the iPhone?

I am having to uninstall and reinstall itunes to do it but it works even though it is a pain

  • Can you rebuild a library to include all songs in your music folder?

    Hey good people,
My copy of iTunes was running on an iBook with my library on an external hard drive. Since the drive was often unlugged, I routinely got excalamtion point signs by files that iTunes thought were missing.
They weren't missing. The drive was just unplugged.
Well, over the years, I got many "faux-missing" files confused with actually missing files, and deleted a number of songs from my library that actually existed safe and sound on my hard drive.
Now I want to make my library right. I want to have an accurate list of everything that's on the drive, only I don't know how to do that.
I made the mistake of dragging the entire library back into iTunes, and succeded it duplicating my entire library. There must be some way to fix this that I'm just not seeing yet.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I made the mistake of dragging the entire library back into iTunes, and succeded it duplicating my entire library.
By "library", do you mean the' iTunes Music folder location' as set in the preferences?
When dragging (or adding by the File menu) this folder to iTunes, recent versions of iTunes don't create duplicate entries in the Library or duplicate files.
What kind of duplicates do you have? Duplicate files or duplicate entries in the Library.

  • What do you do if all your music disappears into the Other folder......dreaded orange bar!

Hope this will help someone as there is clearly not much help from Apple nor this forum.
I am on vacation away from my home computer where my iTunes is.  I turned on my iPod and scrolled down to Music and it showed "No Music."  Went to "About" and saw that there were only 9GB of free space, so I felt for sure it was there because that's right at what I had when I last synced it, which was a couple days ago and it finished syncing with no problems.  Went to the next "About" screen where you can see how much Audio, Video etc. etc. you have and it showed 0 Audio and The "Other" category had all the data in it.  What happened to my music, and can I get it back on vacation without my iTunes on my computer at home?  I tried the holding down of the Select middle button and the Menu button until the Apple logo appeared but that did not restore any Audio.  Hope someone can help me out here.....Thanks
Re: Ipod Classic 160GB having issues, need help please?
Oct 25, 2011 5:06 AM (in response to Fishead)
Solved my issue and thought I might do someone a favor by posting the answer.  If you wind up with NO MUSIC and find all your audio files have been synced into the OTHER folder on your iPod such as what happened to me, AND if you happen to be unlucky enough not to have access to your computer where your iTunes program would allow you to re-sync your iPod, here's what worked for me in a Windows7 OS.
1.You will have to find a computer that has enough storage to hold the amount of information stored on your iPod.  In my case, 139GB!!!  Download iTunes if it is not already on the system, or if it is, update to the latest software.
    2.  Plug your iPod into one of the USB ports.
    3.  Open iTunes if it does not open itself.
    4.  Select your iPod from the menu on the left and you should get a message that iTunes cannot read the iPod. Simply close that box.  If you get a message that syncing your iPod will erase all content then decline the sync.
    5.  Open Computer and you should see your iPod as an external hard drive.
    6.  Open it and you will see some folders and a few files.  The folders will likely look like they are a washed-out yellow instead of a deep yellow like you're accustomed to seeing.  That threw me initially because as I was looking for the folder with @ 139GB, it was not there.  Right click each folder, go to Properties and check the "Show hidden files" in the View menu.  After that, the folders will appear dark yellow and as you hover over each one, you will see one that will have the full amount of data that was on your iPod before the mess started. Open that folder and you will see a bunch of other folders with strange names, like F00, F01 etc. etc. Do the Edit, Select All, right click and in Properties, View menu, check the Show Hidden Files again.  All the folders that were that light yellow color will now turn deep yellow.  Be sure to select show hidden files not only for the folder but all sub folders and files box that will come up....forgot to mention that earlier.  Now all your folders and the files in them will be readable by iTunes.
    7.  The folders will all still be selected.  If not, select them and then do either a copy/paste into iTunes Music Library or drag them over into that pane.  The process will begin and likely take quite a while.  In my case, several hours.  When it is done, you will see all your music in iTunes along with the album art if you had any.
    8.  Now you will need to sync your iPod to that library, but before you do, you will need to Restore it.  Simply select it from the left menu and click on the Restore iPod option.  That will only take a few minutes and it will wipe your iPod clean.  Before you do that, it is a good idea to MAKE SURE YOUR MUSIC IS ALL THERE!!!  I also went to about a half dozen of the albums and tried playing a few songs just to be double sure.  Proceed with the Restore, and when it is complete change the iPod name that will be in the small box on the same page as the Restore option and likely be something like"karens iPod" (whoever the computer belongs to will be the name there) to exactly what your iPod is called on your iTunes on your computer that it was originally synced to.  I found that before I did this, it would not sync.
    9.  When you hit Sync, be patient because it took a minute or so before it actually began to sync.  Then, it will be another few hours if you have as much music as I did for the sync to complete and depending on the speed of the computer you're using.
That's how I got all my music back and I am now a happy camper/listener again.,
I called Apple support and they were absolutely no help.  Just told me I would have to re-sync to my iTunes even though I kept telling them that was 1,650 miles away at my house and not going to be possible.  I even asked if the above process would work and they said they didn't know but "You could try it....." :-(  At that time, I didn't have access to a computer with enough hard disc space on it yet so I called the Apple store in Louisville, KY which was 65 miles from where I was hoping that they might be able to help.  After 2 calls and getting hung up in the same loop of menus that left me on hold for over 20 minutes long distance, I gave up and concluded that Apple and Support are two mutually exclusive terms and have no relationship to one another. This has been quite a nightmare, and if anything good has come of it aside from having my music back, it might be the learning process but I really feel that is a rather small reward for the time spent!
Not likely to be an Apple fan when considering my next purchase of home computer, laptop, nor the phone I am preparing to buy.
    Hope this has helped someone.

I never throw anything away up to a point when it has become silly and then I have a cull. (This applies to the loft, the garage and the hard disk)
I always have (at least) two backups to external drives and by the end of a project also have a full backup to DVD.
I am a hobby photographer, so this isn't necessarily a good professional workflow!
I store work in progress within a folder structure that identifies just what it is, final folder being date stamped for the start date (eg D:\My Pictures\Photgraph Album Master\Family\Bob\20100715 Farnborough airshow)
Photographs of value are then kept within the folder with a date stamp and version number if they change within a day (eg 20100823 Alexander in cockpit 2).
Photographs I haven't touched remain with their camera-specified name.
Lightroom, which I use, doesn't know about external drives or DVD backups. (Maybe it should, but it would become confusing)

I'm new to Mac. I have an iPhone and a Mac Mini.  My original iTunes was on a Windows computer that crashed.  So, all of my iTunes Music and Movies are gone.  How do I get the movies and music from my iPhone to the new Mac Mini?

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help.  Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

All my music is nearly gone how do i get it back

You can either use the back up you keep or re-download it from the iTunes Store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

  • ALL of my playlists, folders and half of the music files are gone

I've reinstalled my Mac OS, before that i moved my iTunes folder to external hard drive. Also exported the iTunes Music Library.xml file, because i've read that it keeps all the data connected with playlist and folders.
I had more than 200 gb of music, all sorted by myself by artist and genres folders (so you can imagine how much time did it take)
Now I have installed Lion , i tried to copy all files from iTunes folder which is based on an external hard drive, but none of folders or playlists appeared and only 130 gb of music files has been copied to the application.
Please help, that was really important for me, i'm just crushed. And sorry for bad english btw.

You say you moved the iTunes folder but you also specifically mention copying the .xml file which makes me wonder if you really did copy the whole of the iTunes folder and all of its contents.  If you had, there would have been no need to mention copying the .xml file because it is inside the iTunes folder and would be copied along with everything else.  What I am getting at is, you either didn't copy everything you need, or you haven't restored it correctly.  Here's the correct way if you let iTunes manage your music:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in
iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the whole iTunes folder and all its subfolders and files intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
Putting iTunes back onto the computer is the reverse.  Just copy the iTunes folder to you Home > Music folder and start iTunes (it will automatically look in this default location unless you hold down the option key while starting).
By the way, while the .xml file also contains the library information, it isn't the file that is actually used by iTunes.  The really critical file in iTunes is the Library.itl file which is also in the iTunes folder.

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.
