All of the sudden my iPad (1st generation) isn't being recognized by

All of the sudden my iPad isn't being recognized by any of my PC's.  The PC's are working fine (they are still recognizing our iPhones)  and I'm pretty sure that the problem is with my iPad.  Please help!!!

Having the same issue.
iPad 1 updated to 5.0.1 was working fine. Suddenly will not recognize when it has a USB cable plugged into it. Almost as though the cable isn't even plugged in. I left it plugged in all day and it's charge increased by about only 5%
Tried different comptuers and the external power supply - same results. The iPad doesn't even recognize the cable is plugged in.. no lightning bolt symbol or anything.

My Ipad 3rd Gen isn't being recognized by my computer / (doesn't show up in itunes)...
I have tried to use it with the following:
    Windows 8 64
    Windows 7 64
    Windows 7 32
    Mac OS (newest)
    All tried with Itunes 10.7.
I bought it about 3 weeks ago and activated it through WiFi.
It has never been recognized on any computer I have tired it with.
I also tried to connect in DFU mode(didnt work)
Do I have a defective Ipad?

make sure you have itunes installed on that computer. itunes comes with the essential ios drivers which are needed in order for your computer to recognize your iphone.

  • IPad 1st gen no longer being recognized by iTunes on my mac, neither being charged, help please i need to sync it

My iPad is being used by a younger sibling, who usually plugs in and out the charger, the iPad is chargable, but it wont connect to my mac, not charge either.

I'm thinking the cable has been damaged. Get a new one. They're not expensive. Many stores, like WalMart, have them.
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I have an iPad 1st generation that no longer has working volume buttons but every once in a while the sound turns on.  So I know the speakers still work.  I have tried resetting all settings and made sure that my side switch was auto lock not auto mute. I have tried the mystical swiping upward on the screen with 4 fingers to get some special sound menu (which I never succeeded in getting).  My headphone jack doesn't work all the time either so some times my kids can hear their games and sometimes they can't.  I am super frustrated at this point.  So any suggestions would be great.  Am I missing something basic or do we just have a soundless iPad now?

I Connected My IPad 1st Generation To The Computed To Have It updated And I Lost All of My Pictures, How Do I Get Them Back?? Help, Please!

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing.

  • TS1741 my ipad all of the sudden stopped charging

My Ipad all of the sudden stopped charging. It wont even charge or be recognized from my laptop on itunes. Please help. Is my battery dead?

Three possibilities - bad cable, charger or the iPad/battery. Since iPad not recognized, I suspect the cable. Make sure the cable is fully connected.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. my iWork (pages and keynote) are not communicating with the iCloud. I haven't changed anything and all of the sudden there is no sync happening.  My iCloud account is fine as i can create documents on my iPad and they appear on iCloud. However, when i change documents on my mac (documents that are supposed to be in the iCloud), the changes do not sync with my other devices nor with iCloud.  Even when i create new documents on my mac and save them to iCloud, all seems okay and i can access them from my mac, however they do not show up in the iCloud and i can't access them with my other devices.
Most recent version of mountain lion updated over a month ago.  New iPad in use for over a month.

The same thing is happening to me, Mail was fine about an hour ago and now is rejecting correct password.  Typical when today I'm waiting some important emails!

  • My iPad (1st generation) seems to be moving slower then normal and often dumps me out the app I'm in. Any ideas??

My iPad (1st generation) seems to be slowing down. Taking longer to open and more concerning is that fact that I'm frequently being dumped out of apps
    Any ideas?

    Welcome!
It's not very likely that a virus/malware is slowing you. Although "officially" above the minimum, 320MB RAM is light for Tiger. Of our various G4 Macs running Tiger, the least RAM installed is 768MB. The others range from 1G to 1.75G RAM. A low RAM count plus a hard drive that's filling up can really drag down the performance.
My best recommendation is to review the maintenance articles on this web site:
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/faqs.html
There are number of routine cleanup items you can do without a tech looking over your shoulder that will maximize your performance.

  • I have iPad 1st generation running 5.1.1. I'm trying to validate my account. I get to the point where apple says they are sending a validation email but I don't receive them. I've had apple resend the email 3 times but still no email

  • All of a sudden, my iPad won't come on. I can't tell if it is charging. Did the screen die? I had no problems prior to this.

All of a sudden, my iPad won't turn on. I've had no previous problems. I plugged it in last night, at 9%. Took it to work this morning. It worked for a while. Then, I went to check email again, and it wouldn't come on. I hadn't noticed the power status, so I don't know if it didn't take a charge overnight. It's been plugged in again all evening, and still won't turn on. Any suggestions?

It's possible you have a defective charger and you don't have any juice left.  The first thing you should try is a reboot:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go o both buttons and hopefully, your iPad will restart.  If that doesn't work, it's possible you just don't have a charge left.  You can trickle charge your iPad via your computer, it will take a loooong time, but even though it says it's not charging, it is, just verrrry slowly.  If that doesn't work, it's probably time to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your Apple Store.  If of course your wall charger isn't charging your device, it could be as simple as replacing the charger.

  • Help.  I have been printing from my iPad to my home wireless printer for months.  All of the sudden it says. No printer found.  Shut off the printer and restarted. Still no luck.

I have been printing from my ipadto my wireless printer for months. All of the sudden says no printer found.  Restart eyed printer still no luck.  Help

Have you tried to reboot your iPad? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try agian.
Also, try power cycling your router. Meaning, unplug it, count to 10, then plug it back in. Let it reboot and see if that helps.
