All photos deleted.

was organizing iphoto. merging albums and such. to find everything deleted. i have checked the trash and other files and can't find them anywhere.

Any hints - remember we know nothing except what you tell us
Did "and such" include using the finder to delete photos from the iPhoto library?
What was the last thing you did before you deleted everything?
Did "Organizing iphoto, merging albums" include using the finder to make changes within the iPhoto library?
How big is the iPhoto library when viewed in the finder?
The more you can specifically tell us about what you did and what you saw when it happened the better the chances are of one of the users here being able to assist?

Did you remember to empty the Trash?  All deleted photos will be saved for 30 days in the "recently deleted" album. To delete the photo or video permanently before the days expire, select them in the Recently deleted album, tap the item, tap Delete, then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video.

  • All photos deleted now my camera roll is grey with MP4 thumbnails

    Hi all!
My iPhone was super low on memory so I thought i'd copy and paste a load of my photos off of my phone onto my PC and then delete them off my phone.
I'd copied over what I wanted, and after that was done, I went back to the photos on my iPhone made sure everything that was selected was what I wanted to delete. So after I checked that, I deleted them.
Now, they have deleted the wrong photos and havent even copied any over onto my laptop. I am now left with lots of grey squares in my camera roll saying "MP4" when I click on it, it says "The requested URL was not found on this server"
I know there is probably no chance of me getting my photos back but can someone explain what is going on?! I am devastated as you can imagine.
    Thank you very much
    Eliza

    Hello Eliza,
I am so sorry to hear that and I would be devastated too to lose photos. There may be hope, If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud, then you can replace the contents of your phone with that back up. Take a look at the article below on how to back up and restore your iPhone.

  • All Photos Deleted After Upgrading to Mavericks

Since I have upgraded, I cant find any of my photos and iPhoto cannot find any libraries...
Any ideas where my photos are???

Ok, the exact same thing happened to me - all my apps got deleted! I wasn't impressed. But I figured it out in the end! Go to the App Store app, click on update, then hit the purchased icon. All the apps you've ever had onyour phone (purchased or not) will be displayed. Click on each and every app individually, and every app will be installed back on your phone! Previous usernames and passwords will be remembered - it's like they never got deleted in the first place! Hope this helps!

  • Updated to Leopard - All photos Deleted

I just updated to Leopard from a 2 year old OS (don't remember the number) and when I opened iPhoto it couldn't find the old Library and my pictures.
I then tried to locate the pictures imported through iPhoto and couldn't. They weren't in the old designated folder "Pictures" and when I used Spotlight it couldn't find them either.
Now, I have two accounts. One is an Administrator and the other account is my girlfriends. All her pictures were preserved and weren't magically deleted.
Furthermore, if ALL my pictures were deleted, which number in the hundreds and are high res, I would have seen an increase in memory capacity and I didn't. I had the same amount of memory I had before I updated.
I've repaired permissions, Googled it, but I still can't figure it out.
    These pictures are somewhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 - how did you "upgrade"? There are three options - Upgrade, Archive and install and Erase and Install
2 - what version of iPhoto do you have (iPhoto menu ==> about iPhoto) or in the applications folder right click (control click) on the iPhoto application and select get info
3 - in your Pictures folder do you see an iPhoto library?
    LN
PS - normal terminology is memory refers to RAM for your computer and disk space refers to disk space - you seem to be using memory to talk about disk

  • Switch carrier, unlocked iphone, restored...all photos deleted

I changed carrier today from ATT to Tmobile, had the phone unlocked and went through the process with ATT on the phone.
Backed up the phone...twice in two days
Support said the phone needed to be restored to be unlocked...fine as long at will reupload all my data and photos.
Restore phone and BAM only music is restored.
4 years of photos (was a 3gs) gone.
Isn t BACKUP supposed to mean BACKING UP as in ALL CONTENT?
Are the photos and videos NOT backed up when you are doing a backup and better question how do I get these photos back to the iphone if they are backed up?

That is not the question I had, this is about the photos NOT being restored to the phone from a backup. And if that is the case why is there no warning that ONLY the music will be restored and none of the photos, videos, pdfs, books etc
and more to the point if I have the photos on iphoto how do I migrate them back to the phone

  • HT201269 I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6. Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?

I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6.
    1) Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?
    2) Can I back up the newsstand to iCloud and save memory on the iPhone?
    3) Can I back up the bookshelf to icloud and save memory on the iPhone?

    1. What format is the external drive? It sounds like it's ina format that Macs can't write to. Is it a NAS or NTFS?
    2. Easiest thing: just move your iPhoto Library to the external
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • How to delete all photos in iPhone 5

I have downloaded my iPhone 5 photos onto my computer.  I now want to delete all photos on my iPhone 5.  I have over 2,600 photos to get rid of.

YES you can delete all photos with one easy swipe~!!!! I just discovered how by accident when I went to delete my audiobooks for more storage!! You go to SETTINGS > GENERAL > USAGE > PHOTOS & CAMERA > and then just decide what you’d like to remove~~ either (or all) “Camera Roll” “Photo Library” or “Photo Stream” & Swipe to Delete! Happy deleting everyone!!

  • How to delete all photos in photo stream on iDevices??

I've been trying to do this for a long time. I looked at similar questions and one answer said to take 1000 photos and put them in photo stream. I tried to put all 1000 photos into photo stream, but the one time that I wanted my photos in photo stream, it didn't work! Are there any other ways to delete all photos in photo stream or just plain delete photo stream?? Please help! Sorry, I'm still relatively new to Apple!

Go to the iCloud website and click on your name and then advanced. Hit the reset photostream. This will delete the photos there.
Go to your devices and remove the photos in the photostream folder in iPhoto.

  • All Photos from Previous Folder Got Deleted!

I had this folder created yesterday with more than 100 photos in it, all photos were imported from my camera. Then later today, I imported another bunch of photos, this time from my flash disk. After they got imported, I tried to Zoom in one of the pics using the space bar forgot that all pics were selected in that folder after imported. iphoto was frozen for a while (colorful wheel was on). then i forced quit iphoto because of that. when i restarted iphoto, the previous folder that i imported yesterday from my camera was gone!! it's nowhere to be found, not in the trash can, not in iphoto, not in the flash disk (i was hoping it got magically switched), and not in my camera too because i already deleted them. i even restarted my computer to see if it was a glitch but it's not! ='{ the entire folder worth of 4 days photos of my vacation is gone!
    i tried to seek for the backup but it brought me to time machine that apparently i hadn't had it set up! :{
help! can i retrieve my -accidentally- deleted photos again?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IOS 8.3 - No option to delete all photos on iPhone

This is not removing photos from the photo stream
This is removing photos from the phone that are stored on it (4.7GB) currently
    This is iOS 8.3
This is Photos app (now apparently after replacing iPhoto)
    This is Yosemite 10.10.3
    Hi,
While on vacation I ran out of space. Now I know after typically importing photos on a camera you have the option to delete them after.  This doesn't seem to be present with my iPhone.  I tried Image Capture (no option to delete, no action on pressing delete, no action dragging to trash).
I tried opening iPhoto which it informed me my library was imported to Photos.  No problem, browse to my iPhone, and see the photos but no option to delete.
I now download iBrowse thinking I'll just remove them manually .. nothing shown in Photos folder.
Only options I can come up with is using the phone it self either selecting each photo (a ton of them) and doing one by one.
Other filter in Photos is moments.  Which is almost as tedious as one by one.
By Year offers no selection, swiping or otherwise to delete.
All Photos offers no selection, swiping or otherwise to delete.
Importing via Photos or Image Capture offers no option to delete from device.
I'd like to just think this was an accident, or something that has a hidden CMD+Option+D hot key to find some magic menu that lets you delete photos to open up space on the phone, but I can't find anything except years of people being confused about how to do this pre-iOS 8 and Yosemite.
Any ideas other than a full phone reset?

settings > icloud >photos > turn off icloud photo library.
Now when I plug the phone in I get the delete option.  (keep in mind this still unfortunate).
Think this has gotten a bit confusing between 'My Photo Stream' - What is it?  iCloud Photo Library- is this a action or a thing?
And if I'm using the iCloud and want to delete the photo, I have no option to do so unless I either go the one by one, moment by moment or turn off the iCloud photo library, plug in my phone, check that delete after import box and import photos.
The sad thing is I have parents, and other family members that are just totally lost too.
Feels like we need version 2.0 soon.

  • Is there a way to delete all photos from phone at once, or does it have to be done individually?

How can I delele all photos from my iphone?  Can I delete all at once, or do I have to go through and delete each one-at-a time?  I'm trying to free space for more photos, and they are already in the cloud and on my computer.  Thanks

Are these photos in your camera roll? If so, you can't delete them using iTunes, & if you've already imported them to your computer, but left them on your phone...you're not clear on that...I suspect whatever program you used to import them doesn't see them anymore...is that correct? If so, you'll have to either mark to delete one at a time, or use third-party software to delete them.
