'All Photos' - ios7 iPad to ios8 iphone 6

Hi All,
I have an iPad 3rd gen running iOS 7 and an iPhone 6 running iOS 8.
Over the past few years i have been able to import photos onto my iPad (from a camera) and then see them in my photo stream across all devices.
Since I've had my iPhone 6 they haven't been syncing.
Now i know that there isn't a 'Photo Stream' anymore, but there is a 'All Photos' tab on iPhone but i'm at a loss to why these photos wont sync.
I've had most generations of iPhone and have a deep understanding on how most things work.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Simon

Well down it appears they are downloading.  There is now a status bar in iCloud, Photos.  All I did was enable WiFii  on the Mac Mini to be on same WiFii as iPhone.

  • I'm getting a message that my iCloud storage is almost full (5.0 GB, 186 mb remaining).  I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac.  I've deleted all but 200 photos on each of these devices.  Data storage is still same.

I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac.  I have deleted almost all photos from both (about 200 remaining on each).  I do not store tunes or videos.  After making these changes, I still have the same message in iCloud.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Select your device (listed as 'This iPhone' or 'This iPad') then look at the next backup size.  Compare the 'Next Backup Size' to the 'Backup Size' on taht same screen.  If the next backup size is smaller, then you have successfully removed some content from your device.
Now the question still lingers as to why your iCloud is still showing so full right?  Well, iCloud keeps the last 3 backups from each device.  It doesn't duplicate them, but it uses an incremental backup system.  So basically your device's backup will take up as much space on iCloud as the largest backup of the last 3 backups.  With that being said, your iPhone and ipad will eventually shrink the size of your backup (if that next backup size is smaller) in about 3 days (3 backups assuming your iOS devices backup once as day when you are sleeping).
Can I expedite this?  Well of course you can.  If you want, you can Delete the backup from both of the devices via that same screen then go back to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, turn iCloud Backups back on, then backup now.  Keep in mind that if you do this, it will clear out your last 3 backups (and cannot be undone), but it may also take a long while for your iPhone and iPad to complete that inital backup after deleting the old backups.
I hope this helps. (My Recommendation: Basically check what's in paragraph one, then it will works itself out in a few days.)

  • I have imported all photos and videos from my iPhone 5S into Aperture ver.3.4.5 and now cannot find them. I thought I could open a panel showing all imports and merely list them chronologically, but I don't see how to do this.

I have imported all photos and videos from my iPhone 5S into Aperture ver.3.4.5 and now cannot find them. I thought I could open a panel showing all imports and merely list them chronologically, but I don't see how to do this.  There are over 1800 photos and about 100 videos, any help to locate where they've gone would be appreciated.

Try to search with a Smart Album for photos and videos taken with an iPhone:
File > New > Smart Album:
Add an EXIF rule fro the "Add Rule" drop down menu: EXIF
and set it to "Camera Model includes iPhone".
Set the scope of the search to "Library"
If there are any iPhone images or videos in your library at all, this search should find them.  Then ctrl-click any of the items and select "Show in Project" from the contextual menu.
Generally, Aperture should be showing your last import in the "Last Import" smart album in the "recent" section". And the "projects" view can be sorted by date, so you should see your recent imports.
You may want to check all search fields, if searches are active.

  • I cannot sync all my photos from mac ti iPhone. The sync finishes before all photos arte copied to The iPhone so in my iPhone I have albums with less photos than Mac!

I cannot sync all my photos from mac to iPhone. The sync finishes before all photos are copied to The iPhone so in my iPhone I have albums with less photos than Mac! I select The album that I want to sync on The iPhone on iTunes but the syncronization finishes before all the photos of the selected albums are copied on The phone.

You should erase all contents and setting before giving your iphone away.

  • Unable to sync all photos to iPad/iPhone

I'm trying to sync some photos but iTunes keeps telling me that selected photos cannot be copied to either my iPad or my iPhone. These photos display fine in iPhoto, and some of them were taken on the iPhone and then effects added with apps afterwards. The pop up gives me no more information as to why they cannot be copied. Anybody got any ideas?

Try deleting the photo cache from the computer and then re-try the photo sync - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • Delete All photos ios7

Ive ran out of space on my iPhone 5 due to all my photos I have on there.  I have imported them to my Mac via iPhoto, which at the time gave me the option to delete my imported photos from my iPhone.  I chose yes.
However the photos still remain in my iPhone, and I don't perticularly was to go through 1000+ photos clicking them all (there is no "select all" option) and delete them manually.
How can I clear my photos off my iPhone?
    Regards.

Thanks - the part with " Image Capture" App works fine.
On iOS7 the described option is no available so there doesn't seem to be an easy way to delete all images.

  • Cannot upload all photos from ipad to mac ( iphoto )

hi all. im in need of some help. i have just over 4,000 photos ( in the all photos album ) but just 1,335 in the all imported folder.
when i connect my pad to my mac it will only seem to upload the 1,335 pics and the rest in all photos will just not import.
has anyone had this same problem ?

    Yes
All photos do NOT autmatically go to PS - only the ones you take on the IOS device - any other syou have to add to the PS -
enable PS and on the Mac set to automatically import photos and on the iPad put the photos into it - it has a limit of 1000 so do it in batches and let them migrate and get imported before doing the next batch

  • Synchronizing photos from ipad 2 to iPhone/Mac

    Hi.
the photos on my ipad is placed in photostream but since I got a new iPhone and Mac it doesn't automatically transfers the photos to the photostream on those.
do anyone know how-to without cable?
or is it necessary to transfer via Esther iPhoto or iTunes?
    thnaks in advance.

Only photos that are taken on the iPad after you enable Photo Stream on the iPhone and the Mac will sync to those devices. The Photo Stream photos that were already on the iPad will not sync. You could import the photos to the Mac and then sync them to the iPad or you could transfer the photos to both devices using a third party app.

  • TS3682 I updated to a new phone.. Went to the PC to backup my phone and I get the corrupted backup message..  I go ahead and delete all backups for iPad and my iphone, restart everything from scratch and still get this message.  What the hey is wrong?

I have replaced my old iphone.  I had an older backup on my pc where I keep my ipad backup as well.  I have also updated and verified that the new ios is correct.
Came home and decided to backup the old phone to recover photos, music, apps, etc...
Connecting the old iphone,I get the backup corrupted message that everyone sees.
I go into the backup directory and delete both backups, restart the itunes, restart the PC, and then reconnect my iphone to the pc whihc restarts iTunes.
Tried to backup the old phone again and still the same message...
So, this is the new world where you cannot backup a "smart phone"....
Anyone got any ideas as to what needs to be done?

I've personally never seen this message.
And what it means, quite simply, is that there is corrupted data in your iPhone, so it will not let it make a backup so that the corrupted data does not get saved and passed on.
All you can do here is manually transfer your photos, contacts, calendars to your computer. And then transfer your purchases. You will not be able to make a backup.

  • Transferring all photos from iPad to PC

    Hi all
I transferred all of my wife's photos from iPhoto on her Mac to her iPad. Now she sold the Mac and got a PC
The problem is that when I access her iPad from the PC, because I want to save the pictures on the PC, only 5 photos from her camera roll appear. However there is about 4000 photos on her iPad. How do I transfer these to the PC?
I am afraid to synronize the iPad with iTunes on the PC, because I don't want to delete her pictures. I have looked everywhere on the internet, but have been unable to find a solution.
    Hope you can help.

  • HT3819 I can home share photos between iPad, itouch and iPhone but not videos filmed on any device, can anyone help please?

How do I share a video taken on iPhone or itouch with the iPad? Pictures work via photo stream but videos don't?.

The videos don't share because they are just too big. Most videos are dozens to hundreds of megs and don't transfer well, so they don't transfer at all.
You'd have to maually do it, either via the syncing computer or using a service like Dropbox, where you upload then download them. (personally I'd stick to local, uploading and downloading hundreds of megs will take time)

  • All photos NOT taken with my iphone have vanished from iphoto

I have just found that all pictures in iphoto except those taken with my iPhone have simply gone. I have searched for them but they don't appear to be anywhere on the machine. Furthermore, I have two cameras that I have downloaded images from quite happily for years from and now my Macbook can't download from them. It doesn't recognise one and just says there's a fault and it can't download images from the other.
    Can anyone help?

The preceding reply is only accurate in part.
You, too, can influence the way your photos look in an email message read on your friend's computer. You do not say how you enclose the photos as attachments, so I hope you are using the email button at the bottom of the iPhoto window (after having selected the one or more photos you wish to send). Clicking the email button should bring up a dialogue window, asking you to select the Size of enclosure you wish to send: using the drop-down menu, you can select between Small, Medium, Large, and Actual size. The size you select will depend on the eventual use that is to be made of the photos: if this is simply for viewing in the email message, then Small and Medium are appropriate; if the photos are to be viewed more closely, or printed at a relatively small size, then Large might be a better choice; if the photos are to be further processed, or printed in rather better quality, then Actual size is what is needed (actually, you might then simply prefer to send the originals).
The other selection boxes in the dialogue window are to allow you to include textual information, embedded in the photo file(s). Such information should already have been entered in the Information panel in iPhoto for each photo. Usually, you can leave these selection boxes unchecked.
