All pictures deleted after software update?

I NEED HELP
after having done a regular software update, my macbook didn't start up anymore.
so I had to reinstall everything.
the programm iphoto and the pictures that were in it were gone atferwards.
so does anyone know if I my photos do still exist? where can I find them? What can I do to get them back? shouldn't they still be somewhere on the laptop?
CAN U HELP ME?

When you ”re-installed everything“ did you wipe the disk first? What re-install option did you use exactly?

All info lost after software update...need help!

I was running a software update in order to make sure I had the latest on my computer. After I restarted the computer and 10.4.4 was loaded, I went into iTunes, address book, iPhoto and I nothing was there. Now this might be normal, but I was unaware of this and now I have a huge pit in my stomach because I lost a lot of information that took me months to compile. Is there anyway to retrieve any of this (pictures, addresses, music) or am I just out of luck? Thanks for all help in advance.

Turns out those error messages it gave me were because it didn't sync properly and create a backup. Which is why when I restored from backup it didn't reload my old info. Instead of assuring me that I would have the option to restore my info, it would have been nice had it told me that a backup hadn't been completed and that restoring my phone without it would leave me with nothing.
Tech support had me use my old SIM card to import my old contacts. This worked, but I've entered contacts since getting the new phone that aren't on my old SIM. And doing so left me with a bunch of re-organizing to do (deleting, combining, entering First and Last name fields...) it took me several hours.
I didn't get my appointments back, cause my old phone was just a phone, and that info wasn't on the old SIM, but I'm REALLY glad I got my contacts.

Firefox bookmarks and toolbar were deleted after a software update from my mac computer - an update from Microsoft - affecting word & firefox. The restore function within the bookmark section does not work - it shows the back ups but then states "unable to process the backup file"

All info gone after software update, how can i get it back?

New G3, notified me I needed to sync w/itunes to get the new update. After syncing, and various problems and errors, it said i needed to restore my iphone... everything would be wiped clean +but i could get it back+ after the update was complete. Update is complete, where is the option to put all of my stuff back on my phone? My contacts, my appointments, my alarms, my life... aargh!

ALL contacts deleted after APP updates

All my contacts were deleted after some applications were updated on my Iphone. How do I restore from my computer backup only the CONTACT information, as my phone has photos which have yet to be backed up onto the computer. I cant backup my phone now as my contact list is empty. Advice anyone?

Golly, you've been a contributor here for a while now, so surely you know that this is a user-to-user community, not a place to YELL at your carrier or BB. I realize you are upset, but YELLING at the kind volunteers who might want to help you may not result in them wanting to help you (if you want help...your post is more of a commentary than a request for help).

Hard drive runs all the time after software update

After a software update from Apple a couple of weeks ago, for some reason the hard drive now runs noisily and continuously ever since. It's never run that way in the 3 years I've had the machine. It would run briefly sometimes while using some websites, but it would always stop and quiet down once the site was done. Anybody else had this happen? Thanks - L Agnew.

Make sure you have enough available drive space for updates. Right click your MacintoshHD icon and then click Get Info. In the Get Info window, where it says: General click the black arrow so it faces down. You will see Capacity and Available. Watch that the available drive space never falls below 15% of the total drive. (Some say 10%, but that's pushing it). Not enough drive space will cause apps to crash and freeze, including browsers.
If drive space is the issue, you need to copy files to external source. Don't forget to delete the originals on the hard disk.
If drive space isn't an issue try deleting this file. com.apple.softwareupdate.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Launch Software Update either from the Apple Menu or the System Preferences/Software Update pane.

Notes deleted after software update

After I installed the new software all my notes were deleted. The last update was from the status with deleted notes. Any idea how I can get the notes back?

If using the iPhone as designed, contacts are synce to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service like MobileMe or Exchange.
Simply re-sync the contacts.

If you have been regularly syncing/backing up your iPhone with iTunes or iCloud, you may try restoring it from the last backup.

I'm having the phenomenom that video from HDMI input is broken and at the moment it looks as if 1080p/60Hz is affected. (Switching to 50Hz on a device that supports frequency changing helped.) Also the TV overlay menus are broken when using HDMI. Normal cable TV seems unaffected.

Internal camera failure after software updates...first skype couldn't......

I am having internal camera failure after software updates...first skype couldn't find the camera, and now photo booth also says camera is not connected. Its a brand new MacBook Pro which has been working fine for a month, but after a software update (the blinking message said i had 13 new things to update...you know what I'm talking about right?) all of a sudden Skype couldnt find a camera, so i went to the skype community and tried some things (like trashing skype) but now photo booth says no camera detected, which is weird cause the camera is built into the computer..

Arabic language disappeared after software updater...

Yesterday night I decided to update my mobile software using nokia software updater to solve a performance issue as mentioned in the website.
I took a full back on my MMC then started the update.
My mobile software version was 1.00.XXXXX and the new release is 4.XXXXXX
The update completed successfully, but after I restarted the mobile I was shoked of the following issues :
- The arabic language disappeared from the phone lagnauge selection.
- MMC requested a passrowd to ulock it !!! while I dont remember that I set a password for it or I may set it once long time back but I forgot it now.
I'm surprized for what happened as I had a discussion last night with my father regarding Nokia trust relation ship .
Please advice how can I solve my issues ASAP.
All my contacts are backed up on the memmory .

And....that's your question? How to restore the apps? Sync your iPad with iTunes and the apps should be restored to your device. Or go to the purchased tab of the App Store and tap on Not on this iPad and download them again.
Did you restore from a backup after you updated? Can you provide any information at all?

But now I have to do it every other day. ???? AT&T my DSL carrier suggests I get a new router. Apparently the one I have is really old and doesn't support my Macbook Pro. Does this sound right?

If your using WEP encryption yes, Apple has discontinued that becaues it's worthless. WEP (and WPA) is cracked so encryption makes no sense.
Get a new Wireless N router, set it up with WPA2 (AES) Personal and two different 20+ randon letter/numbersymbol character passwords
One for Admin access only of the router, keep this on paper off all comptuers in a safe someplace.
One for entering into devices, computers etc for Internet Access Only.
You need the long and random password to defeat brute force attacks by GPU software that the hackers have now.
Also if you give out the password to another, they can't hack the network with the guest access password.
Computers remember the internet password, so anyone with access to your machines or network will have the password.
Since you have another Admin only password, they can't hack in. got it?
You don't need "Invisible" or "MAC Address filtering" that's a waste of time as hackers can sniff a network and causes issues getting on the network.
