All purchased ringtones / text tones lost

I have just purchased a new MacBook Pro, and when I synced my iPhone to my computer for first time, it transferred music purchases from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, but not my ringtones or text tones. Upon checking my iPhone, they've all been wiped.
Does anyone know how I retrieve these purchases? I've checked my Purchases and there's nothing there...

Update - Had to create a case number with iTunes on line and then had to call Support. It took 1-1/2 hrs! Don't believe the so-called experts on this site. Don't repurchase tones as they will charge you again! Apple told me that you shouldn't purchase from your device (Wait! What?) and the supervisor I finally got to late last night said this the first time they ever heard of this happening (what a Crock! scripted) Don't download anything from your iPhone as the tones and from what I hear songs will disappear before you have a chance to sync. Even when they re-pushed the tones, then the existing tones that show in iTunes then disappeared on my phone. They had to re-push everything twice and it works for now and I don't hold any hope that it will last. The so-called experts here don't know what they are talking about. They will resort to calling you a novice and other choice names when their so-called fixes don't work. It is irresponsible for Apple to remain silent on this issue and not give its customers this warning. But it will enhance their bottom line if they remain silent. Think about it.…

Purchased Ringtones vs tones folder

I have, in the recent past, purchased ringtones via my iphone. They have syncd just fine back into iTunes and I can see them under the tones list. They appear in the itunes media folder in the ringtones folder.
This week, I bought some tones, to be used as text alert, etc, on my iphone. They synced fine as well. But, I notice that a new folder was created inside the itunes media folder called "tones" right next to "ringtones" folder.
Everything appears fine in the iTunes window when looking at the tones part of the library, but when you look at the iPhone tones (under the iphone icon), I see exclamation marks. Like I said, everything works, just not use to seeing that.

Changing ringtone/text tone on an application you downloaded

Is there a way to change a text tone or ringtone on a certain application you downloaded. I only see the option for sound on or off.

yes i downloaded the gmail app from the app store because i receive emails faster via this app then from the iphone. i went to settings on both and there's no option to change tones. Also the tones that are used are from the iphone so i figure there would be some option to change it, but can't find it and it's not in notifications.

Why can't I access ALL purchased ringtones on my Iphone?

I've created and purchased 3 ringtones on my iphone. I can see these in Itunes in my library and in Devices/Ringtones when the iphone is docked. However, when I try to assign the ringtones to various contacts I see the SAME ringtone 3 times. The phone seems to recognize that there are 3 ringtones but displays a single ringtone 3 times. Any ideas?

I have that problem too, every since 1.1.3 update this is been a problem , I thought it will be fix with the new update 1.1.4, it still the same, why won't they fix it. what the point of having ringtones, if you can't keep them in the phone. I'm so upset, when is apple going to fix this.

All text tones are available in General-Sounds. Some are missing via Contacts-Edit Contact.

I have confirmed that this issue is also present in the iPhones in the Apple store as of 28-April-2014. I told one of the guys in the Apple store about it and he said that the iPhones in the store have a custom version, so I asked him to check his own iPhone. He did, and the issue is present on his phone, so it's definintely a general IOS7 iPhone issue.
If you go to General -> Sounds -> Text Tone -> Classic, you can see all the classic text tones.
If you go to Contacts, select a contact, select Edit -> Text Tone -> select Classic, some are missing.
I used Choo Choo for one of my contacts while I was on IOS6 and when I switched to a new phone with IOS7 and performed a restore, their text tone changed to Tri-tone. I tried to change it back and saw it was not availble, so I figured they had taken it out of IOS7. Then I heard a friend's iPhone 5 on IOS 7 who had Choo Choo set up as their default. I investigated and saw that more Classic text tones were available via General.
Is there some logical reason why some text tones are not available for Contacts?

Do you maybe have your contacts separated into groups? If so, perhaps you have unchecked the group that the missing contact are in.
In the Contacts app, click the Groups button in the upper left corner. Make sure all groups have a check mark next to them.

Cannot use ring tones for text tones anymore

I have been told that I can no longer use my ring tones that I have purchased as text tones, which irritates me because that is the main reason I purchased them. But it is true, if you put them with a contact and they text you, you hear nothing. Is there any way to fix that.
Question # 2 Why are my text tones now a lot softer than they used to be. I can't hear them most of the time, so when I look at my phone I have tons of texts and I didn't even know it. I keep it right next to me also, so it is not like it is in another room. That is one reason I liked the music tones for the texts because I knew it was different and could hear. Now they are all little delicate tones that nobody can hear and I can't figure a way to turn them up. The phone is turned up all the way. Plus they said now I have to purchase alert tones to use for my texts and I looked and the selection *****. Mostly dispicable me and stuff like that. I am a 56 year oldl woman and I don't want star wars, and that sort of stuff on my phone. Help please if you can. Please let me know as I do not check the communities often. I usually get lost.

Text tone still on iPhone 5s but not in itunes?

I tried to back up my iPhone 5s to iTunes so I could update to iOS 8. I chose for it to transfer purchases and when it finished backing up, my text tone was in the 'on this iPhone' part, but when I went to update it, it then said there were purchases that weren't transferred, so I did it manually. When it transferred the purchases, the text tone disappeared from iTunes but other things, like books were still there. It's still on my phone, and after restarting it, it now works when people text me. I looked on the iTunes store on my phone and it gives me the option to buy it?
So I'm very confused. iTunes just decided that I didn't have it anymore, my phone still has it and uses it, but the iTunes store tells me to buy it?
Anyone know how I can back it up on iTunes again so I can just get on with the update?

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

Text tones and wallpaper on itunes

I purchased ringtones off iTunes but is there a way to purchase text tones and wallpaper off iTunes.

You can't purchase/make text tones for the iPhone...at least not directly. I don't know much about jail breaking but if it's possible then that would be the only way to use text tones that are not the ones that Apple pre-loaded. As far as wallpapers...there may be apps...you'll have to search the App Store for that. Or do a google search to see if any exist for the iPhone. You could always use any pic you take or have on your iPhone as a wallpaper/background but it will only apply to the home screen an/or the lock screen.

How can I transfer a text tone to my new iphone?

I purchased a text tone two years ago when I had an iPhone 4S. I recently purchased an iPhone 5S and want to use that same text tone but cannot figure out how in the world to get it transferred over to my new phone. I've looked online and tried several things with no luck. When I open up my iPhone 4S it shows the tone and it shows the purchase on my history... There should be such an easy way to do this but I haven't been able to figure it out!! I know it's only .99 to rebuy ...but it's the whole principle of the thing...I already paid for it so why should I have to pay again for the same thing!!

Ringtones are a one-time download (as are audiobooks ; other items are redownloadable depending upon what country that you are in, and if they remain in your country's store).
If you still have it on your 4S then connect it to your computer's iTunes and copy it over via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - it will copy over to the Tones part of your library.
Then connect your 5S to your computer's iTunes and sync it to it.

Ringtones purchased from iTunes not showing up under Text Tones in iOS 5

I just upgraded to IOS 5 on my 3Gs and i am glad to see there are new Tone options but i can not find the ringtones i purchased earlier this year under text tones. I can find the ones i made but not the ones i purchased from itunes.

I had the same issue. Try this: go into iTunes, select your iPhone, go to Ringtones tab, check the Sync seclected Ringtones, deselect the ringtones that you pruchansed from iTunes Store. Now Apply/Sync the phone. When it's done, Go back to the Ringtones tab and select Sync all Ringtones. Apply/Sync the phone again. Now go to a contact and set a ringtone, you should see all the purchased ringtones. Good luck.

Purchased tones are a one-time only download. They should have been transfered into the iTunes library your phone synced with, and subsequently backed up from there. If you didn't do that then they are gone. If you changed the library that your iPhone syncs with without taking due care then iTunes will, by design, delete the existing content on the device and load the content from the new library.

My phone number is same as phone that was lost. When the rep from Bell in Moose Jaw, sask all my contacts, text messages, and only some of my pictures and videos came through but, not all of them, it loaded my oldest pictures and videos. I want the latest pictures and videos, how do I do that? I also purchased 15 GB Icloud storage, when I go into the "Manage Storage" at the bottom of screen it says 12.1 GB available of 15.0 GB on icloud the processing bar has only moved slightly and just stays that way. What do I do to get all my pictures and videos?

On your iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Photo Stream is switched on.
iCloud does not store videos. Images only.

Why some ringtones show up in my Ringtone setting but not show up in Text Tone and all other Sounds setting?

i have 28 ringtones in my iTune library. in my iphone Sound and Vibration Patterns, 28 ringtones show up in Ringtone options.However in all other options, only some of 28 ringtones show up in the setting option. How can I have every ringtones in my iTune library availalbe for Text Tone?

Did you fail to save them to your computer before updating?
If so, then you can try contacting itunes support and asking them to allow a redownload.
