All Send mail servers show offline...POP & IMAP

So all my outgoing mail servers are showing offline...this includes .Mac, an IMAP company email and POP company email....has been like this for a couple days.
I get mail okay, all other internet functions seem fine...
Using a Airport Extreme router...might that be blocking it?
Have tried a few different ports recommended on other discussions, but no luck so far...
HELP

Two things that might help...(mine is working now)..
1) If you are using little snitch uninstall it.
2) I ended up removing all my preferences. First go to User>Library>Mail and copy that to your desktop to back up your mail. Then copy all your prefs from user>Library>Preferences to a backup folder. Then delete them. Restart you computer. All your doc settings, etc will be gone but that might fix the issue. Then you can either start fresh or copy the prefs back one by one until you figure out the issue.
3) If you want to reimport your mail (if you have saved mail on your comp) go to mail>file>import mailboxes and reimport your mail folder from your desktop.

  • Can't send mail using - all send mail servers offline

I am not able to send any mail.  I've got many SMTP servers and have tried them all.  none send and I don't get an error.  Have rebooted and read in discussions and find no solution.   OS X 10.9.2   Finding myself concerned that Apple's QA/QC is lacking.. not what it once one.  Seeing increasing instability in general in core OS X apps.

Mail is a bit weird sometimes...
Does your network/ISP allow SMTP traffic?
Have you linked each SMTP server to the correct mail account?
Have you selected "Use only this server" ?
Have you checked the port number being used?
What are the mail providers are you using?

Is there a way of cleaning out the 'send mail' servers listed when a sent mail message cannot use the selected send mail server? I seem to have collected quite a few over the years, and I want to clear them out.
    Any ideas?

    Chris,
Please report the version of OSX and Mail you are using, With Tiger and Mail 2.x, at least, this can be done in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Outgoing Mail Server by clicking on the up/down arrows beside the server name, and choosing Edit below the list of available SMTP servers.

  • Why are all of my mail servers are offline, but only on one computer?

I have seven email accounts. Two are MobileMe, two are gmail. All are IMAP.
The mail settings on my MacBook Pro are identical to the mail settings on my Mac Pro and my iPhone, but I can't send mail from my MacBook Pro. I can receieve email on the MacBook Pro and I'm currently typing this posting on it as well, so it's not as if I'm not connected to the internet.
    Any ideas?

Do not worry i have exact the same when saying offline and have no idea why this was on yesterday but today this gone by itself now so im sure u be ok next day or so.....gudluck

  • Mac Mail accounts showing "offline"

    Hi:
I am using MacMail (6.6 1510) on 10.8.5. I have two gmail acounts, a yahoo, and two non-web based emails (one is POP, one is IMAP). For several days now, all of the accounts, except the POP (it works fine) are not allowing me to send email. It says the SMTP server is offline. I have trolled these boards for hours looking for solutions.
    I have:
Deleted the gmails and yahoo accounts and re-added. That worked for a couple hours.
    Shut off my VPN
Tried every port number suggested in the boards on this topic
Disabled each account and tried the above
    Disabled Icloud
My mail works fine with my phone and my Ipad, with the same settings.
I am not a tech person. I have no tech support and no Genius bar nearby. I have tried everything. I just need my mail to work. My business depends on it. Can anyone help? I have tried switching to Airmail, but I can't live without Mac Mail's rules (and I uninstalled Airmail, in case that's a cause) .
    Thanks,
    Christy

The outgoing servers are from your local ISP, follow the link in teh message for troubleshooting. It's possible your ISP is experiencing problems or it is also possible you may need to restart your computer.

  • Help configuring mail so a user can send mail from outside network via IMAP

Using OS X 10.4.11. IMAP and POP3 are enabled and when a user uses IMAP from within the network they have no trouble but one of our people moved to a different office outside the network.
I can configure Outlook to use IMAP and see all her folders and get mail but when she tries to send I get the message "Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname" This same error comes up when I configure it for POP3.
She could use squirrelmail but Outlook is nicer for folders, contacts, etc. and since she will be at this different office for a long time I would like to get it working.
I assume it has to be a configuration on the server end but I don't have a clue where to look. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

This typically indicates a misconfiguration on the server.
You've probably built your server by setting postfix's 'myhostname' parameter to something like 'mail'. This should be the fully-qualified hostname of the server, e.g. 'mail.mydomain.com'.
You can change this in Server Admin, or by editing /etc/postfix/main.cf, or via the command line:
    postconf -e 'myhostname = mail.mydomain.com'
Note, for the record, you don't send mail via either IMAP or POP. Those are receive protocols. All outgoing mail uses SMTP.

  • Outgoing e mail messages showing offline

Any suggestions, everyone of my e mail accounts is showing offline when I go to send out an email, apart from one. Receiving messages no problem.

You havenot posted enough information for people to help you. What computer, what model? What Mac OS version? What Mail program?
If your OS is really Win XP as in your profile, there is no general Windows support here unless you have a Mac running Win via Boot Camp.

  • All agentless monitored servers showing same percent memory used

I have 13 servers that are managed agentless via a proxy agent on the gateway server. I do this as when I had them set up to use the agent, the agent was consuming too much CPU on the servers. So, all appears to be fine, it is pulling in the percent CPU
usage and such, and recognizes the OS version and what not. The issue I have, is I set up a dashboard with a performance widget to track the percent memory used. All of my agentless monitored servers show the same percentage, and the percentage is also much
higher than what I see on the actual servers. So, it appears that there may be some form of roll up or something on the agentless servers, or it's taking the highest from the group, or I'm not drilling into the right counter or something. I have two widgets,
one that is performance and one that is performance object. The performance one grabs the object "Memory", counter of "PercentMemoryUsed", with no performance instance selected (although I have also tried "all"). The performance
object widget selects the same performance counter (Memory / PercentMemoryUsed /) and again have also tried "all" there as well. This allows the performance widget to graph/show the last value and maximum value, while the performance object shows
me the average sorted from highest to lowest. I have another server that is agent managed in the same list, that shows what appears to be accurate information...and there is also a performance counter for cpu usage that appears to have accurate data for all
of the above (agent and agentless). So, why am I seeing this issue with my agentless servers?

I have two email accounts on my MacBook Pro and iPhone that I have been using for a few years.  My phone works perfectly for both accounts.  Now one of my email accounts on the MacBook says the outgoing server is Offline?  How can I fix that so that both accounts send and receive email.  I have tried various things in settings but nothing seems to work.

  • Mail not showing up in IMAP box

    Hello there.
I've been through other similar threads in the Apple Mail discussions, but haven't found my specific situation.
I am using Mail to access an IMAP server, and I store no e-mail on the local machine. A few of the IMAP mailboxes show up empty, even though another IMAP client (Thunderbird) can see messages in these mailboxes just fine.
One of the mailboxes has 40 messages, and is less than 300 KB, so I'm fairly certain I'm not running into size limitations.
I have tried rebuilding the mailboxes, to no avail. I have tried deleting the IMAP account from Mail and recreating it, and the same mailboxes are still displayed as empty. I have discovered that if I move other messages into those mailboxes using Mail, the move works ok in that I can see the moved message via Thunderbird, but Mail still can't see any of the messages. I can rename the mailbox using Thunderbird and see the change reflected in Mail, but I still can't see the messages.
The advice I've seen in other threads seems to apply to Mail 1.x, mail stored locally, and large mailboxes. Any advice for this situation?
    1.67 GHz PB   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   100GB HD / 1GB RAM

I have a bit more info on the behavior. It's somewhat convoluted, but reproduceable.
I have a mailbox with 210 messages that shows 0 messages when viewed via Mail (as previously posted, I can work with it through Thunderbird just fine, though). It turns out that Mail is choking on just two of those messages. I narrowed down which ones they were by transferring the messages in small bunches to a new mailbox using Thunderbird, then launching Mail to see if it synchs properly. It does, on all but two of the messages.
The funny things is that using Mail, I can now see 208 messages in one mailbox and 2 messages in the other, and everything works just fine. If I move either of those two messages to the mailbox containing the 208 messages, the 209 messages disappear. I can then use Thunderbird to transfer that one message back to the smaller mailbox. If I then launch Mail, quit, and launch Mail again, the two mailboxes with 208 messages and 2 messages once again appear where they should.
There is nothing special about these two messages. They are plain text with no attachments, and contain just a few dozen words each.
The problem now, however, is that the messages in the 208-message mailbox are organized by date received, and if I click on a different header (e.g., Subject), the messages are not relisted by the active header, but rather the order of the messages are simply reversed by date received.
Could there be something about the sender name or subject heading that's causing this?
Also, I have posted to this thread several times now with absolutely no response. If someone from Apple could post just so I know these posts aren't going into a support black hole, please do. I am willing to work with Apple to debug their software (even though I'm not getting paid), but I want to make sure my time spent testing and prodding has a purpose.

  • Trouble with all outgoing mail servers

Was there an update that would have knocked out my ability to send outgoing mail?  I can still receive mail from gmail.com, live.com and a business email account that had all been working fine till about a week ago.  I had not made any changes, but have since changed the outgoing port to 587, to no avail.  I have also tried to Repair Disk Permissions using the Disk Utility.  However, I still am not able to get the smtp servers to connect.
    Any ideas?

I have cleared my outbox and resent a test email from one account to the other, which I know is receiving emails.  I am using the Apple Mail application, which had been working just fine with all 3 accounts for the past 2 years.
