i have 128 songs in my library, but only 93 are on my ipod. whats wrong and how do i fix it? thanks

I am having the same difficulty. I have updated my ipod, reinstalled my itunes and ipod, ensured all songs are checked, and reviewed thati had space available.

  • Not all songs in library synchronized to ipod

    hi
i have 19142 songs in my itunes library. i am synchronizing music files with my ipod classic. but only 19141 files are being synchronized.
can somebody figure out what is the problem. i already checked if all checkmarks are active. they are.
how can identify the title not being synchronized? how can i find out why?
i would appreciate any kind of help or suggestions.
    thank you
    regards

Well, if it resyncs the one track each time and if you have the patience to stare at the notification area all the way through the sync you might just spot iTunes saying Syncronsing <track name>.
Otherwise the show duplicates feature will list all track names that occur more than once. Not that useful since the same title can be used for many different songs but it will cut down the number of albums you need to scan through. In an album ordered list, any album showing 2 tracks would be a candidtate for further checking.

    Hey samikumar,
Thanks for the question, this is definitely a weird issue! To troubleshoot, let’s start first by re-creating your iTunes library and playlists:

  • Not all songs transferred from iTunes to iPod

iPod touch 3G, intel iMac (Leopard).
The iTunes library has just been rebuilt with all files present and correct, cover art etc and AFAIK all tunes play OK. (Took ages, but it's all good!)
    1. Removed all songs from iPod
    2. Updated OS to 5.0.1
    3. Synced all music to iPod from iTunes. At the start I got a message saying that "This computer is not authorised to play some songs and they will not be transferred". However the iMac is of course authorised, and all the songs were either bought through iTunes on the iPod and transferred (over the last 2 years) or bought direct to the iMac, or ripped from personal CDs.
    4. Unchecked "sync all songs", switched to "manually manage music" and put them on manually. Same result but without the above message apperaing.
There's 7503 songs on iTunes and only 7431 on the iPod.
    Two questions:
Does anyone know why this should be?
Is there an easy way of finding out which songs are missing? I've checked the ones I remember purchasing on the iPod originally, and they're all there.

You go to iTunes>file>move folder 2 library then you slect the folder your songs that you downloaded r in and click ok.
And more you can follow this tutorial about how to tranfer music from computer to iPod.
    Cheer.

  • What if I don't want to sync ALL of my Library to my IPod?

New to Macs and iTunes, so be gentle...
Just bought a iMac Core Duo, and my wife's Nano is synched up with it, no problem.
Here's what I want to do though: I want to put all my CD library on iTunes, but I don't want ALL of the songs to sync over - just the ones she wants (she just has upbeat music to work out to).
Is this possible? If it is, how do I tell iTunes which ones to sync and which ones NOT to sync?
    Derek

You can choose to "automatically update selected playlists only" in which case you can create a playlist specifically for the Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Or you can choose to "manually manage songs and playlists"
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • All songs are erased when connecting Ipod Nano to PC.

It happened a few times now since the last few months, so last momnth I uppdated all softwares and installed the latest Itune. But it happened again last night. All songs got erased as soon as I plugged in my Ipod Nano to update or add new songs. Anyone experience that, what can it be.
    PC windows HP.

Ok not sure what you mean, I did have to restore it It's my daughter's ipod)at work on my computer, added a few songs to see if it works, so it worked, gave it to her and she strted using it at home on the home computer and synched her ipod with Itunes to download her songs, was good for a few weeks and then last week she connected the usb cable to put more songs, that's when she lost everything and Itunes said to use the Ipod updater.... again!!!
So do you mean that I she has to be on manual mode at home, since I initally put some music on my work computer???

    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a thrid-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - The try syncing. If you synced last time with this computer you should not a have a problem.

  • All songs and playlists missing from iPod

I have a 20GB iPod with the click wheel. It is not showing any of the music I have loaded on it, but when I look under "About", it says that the capacity = 18.5 GB, available = 150MB, which would seem to indicate there is data on the device. When I plug it into my computer for iTunes, I get a message saying that it can't find the music. I believe its happened before, but just 'fixed' itself. I have tried the reset (menu + middle) thing. No luck. PLEASE HELP . . . SO DESPERATE!

    Hi people!
I think to have the same problem. Yesterday i have plug my iPod into my computer (Windows XP) and iTunes can't show me the songs (but all songs were fisically in the path music!!) I read also a message in the traybar such this " \iPod_Control\Device\Sysinfo is corrupt or unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility."
Well I say me.. CALM! So I tried to restore my ipod using itunes tool (with version 7.1) and all problems was vanished.
so i have restored some songs into the ipod.
All ok.. Till this evening: iTunes can't see some of the songs uploaded yesterday! Why?
Some songs had this problem: when i would play "The Show Must go on" the ipod play other sogn but the title on display is correct! Now i tried to update itunes to 7.3 version, and after some attemp of plug/unplug the ipod from the computer i don't see the problem yet.
    what is happened?
Sorry for my english guys, i come from Rome! Thank you in advance

  • All songs in library won't sync to ipod (cannot be found).

I have a 6th generation ipod nano. I recently switched from a different computer to my new laptop. I wiped my ipod of all it's old songs and tried to sync my collective purchases onto the nano. However, about 84 of 257 won't sync because they "cannot be found." I had these songs on my old ipod that's "corrupted" and put them on my new itunes using my itunes account. Is there something wrong with my ipod or is it my itunes (or operator error)?

I have noticed that it seems to be a bit rate size problem. My iPhone only adds songs or vids less than 127bps. Now, it's possible that it could be slightly higher, but that seems to be the limit of the stuff I have. Nothing 158bps or 160bps or 192bps or 256bps syncs over, though it did last week! Is it possible this limit was inadvertently imposed in the last update? Problem only appeared after last iTunes update. Could have been with 3.0 update but I don't think so. However I have noticed when they do sync, after I play them or partially play them they disappear from the playlist on the iPhone, should I go to another app and them come back to it.
I don't want to reduce the bit rate, I want iTunes to fix itself, gol-darnit!
Anyone know of a solution or heard of this?
    ~Deb

  • Accidently deleted all songs in library!!

I accidently deleted all the songs in my library and now I can't plug in my ipod because it is set up to automatically update and I don't want to lose everything that's on it! Is there a way to stop the auto-update before it deletes everything and change the preferences to manual update?
    Please help!

  • All songs in Library lost

I changed from a classic to a first generation touch and when I synced it the first time all the songs synced. I added some new cd's to my library and when I synced all the original songs in the library disappeared. I went in and pulled up the library I wanted to sync, but it won't do it. I had 1200 songs now I only can synce 28. Any advise

    Jack,
    These links will give you
    i several
methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are
    i many
various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected, "Deleted files from hard drive" #1, 12:49am May 30, 2005 CDT

Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation. Music files on just the iPod and the computer is
    i not
considered having any backup. Backup both the music files
    i and
the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). Below are some very good threads to read on the subject:

  • Is there a way to get Genius to make a playlist using ALL songs in Library?

Genius is cool, but I have a beef. It appears that it will only make playlists using your "checked" tracks. I have more tracks in my library than I have room for on my iPod so I have a whole bunch of tracks in iTunes that are not usually checked.
I would really like for Genius to help me rediscover these tracks by recommending them in playlists. Does anyone know if this is a hackable preference somewhere, or maybe even a preference setting that I just haven't found?
    Thanks for any ideas!

This was just a suggestion but you are free to do as you want.
Other than checking or unchecking the dozen or so that I want today, how is playlist creation supposed to help me? Create a new playlist of just the songs I want today and check that off?
    Exactly!
The delete that playlist and make a new one tomorrow? Or delete the tracks in that list and drag new ones in?
    Exactly!
This way you only a have a few playlists (of what you want on the iPod) you need to mess with.
Create another playlist called "Not on other playlists?" NO Way! Too much trouble and bother on a day to day basis.
Messing with the entire library by checking/unchecking songs is easier than adding/deleting songs from a few specific playlists? Okay.
As you noticed, Genius will not use the songs that are unchecked. In addition, if you play these songs in iTunes, it stops after it plays an unchecked song and they will not get burned to a CD if they are in a playlist.
    Good luck!
