All the client switches becoming STP ROOT switches

Hi All,
Here is my topology. I've two vlans (50,60). I was doing some lab so just build this topology and when i check the the spaning tree configuration on all the switches except the two transparent switches. All the client switches have become ROOT switches for VLAN50,60.
I've give the below commands on the VTP-Server, but still the problem is not clearing.
VTP-SERVER(config)#spanning-tree vlan 1 root primary
VTP-SERVER(config)#spanning-tree vlan 50 root primary
VTP-SERVER(config)#spanning-tree vlan 60 root primary
"show spanning-tree" outputs:

Can someone please correct the issue?

Perfect - Rolf. Issue resolved.
I understood it. Since both the transparent switches are not having vlan50,60 they are not participating in the STP calculation for those two vlans.
Since those two switches are not participating in the STP calculation. For every switch it seems like it is the only switch in the topology, so STP made them ROOT switches, got it...
Really playing with devices like anything.... but however learning like this is very good...

Hi,
I am afraid table USR02 is client-specific. Using display you can only view the records which belong to your current client.
You can use Tcode USMM (User measurement data)- User classification lising and view all the client users you need, or use report (RSUVM005) in se38.

How to get IP Address of all the clients

Hi,
I am useing oracle 8i on sun solaris and clients are of windows
when quering v$session it gives many details
but does not gives the IP_Address of the clients.
I had used SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','IP_ADDRESS') but
it gives the details of only the current session.
But I want the IP_Address of all the clients connected and
shown in v$session.

From column MACHINE in V$SESSION, you can get the I.P. address:
SQL> select UTL_INADDR.GET_HOST_ADDRESS('localhost') from dual;
UTL_INADDR.GET_HOST_ADDRESS('LOCALHOST')
127.0.0.1In this sample I used localhost, but you can use the column. It might require some additional work (to escape windows domains for example - and ensure all the hosts are known to the system via DNS).

How to force site code discovery on all the clients, Migration SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012

I migrated SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 SP1, but the clients does not update the New Site Code Automatically, if I click on Discovery option the client find the new site, but I need do this automatically because are too many clients.
This registry key does not exist on client computers.

I think there are multiple solutions to this issue and you can choose whatever fits best to your scenario.
1. While upgrading the clients from SCCM 2007 to 2012 you can assign the clients to your ConfigMgr 2012 site.

You may be asking, how do I determine all the users who have logged in to all the PCs on the network.
Write a program which is added to each user's Startup a program which updates the database with their details. If you have network scripts, this can be added to the user' network login batch script.

Firefox 23 introduced a new security feature. If this is an HTTPS page, insecure content may be blocked. Look for a shield icon on the address bar to the left of the URL. This article has more details about this feature: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]
If it's not a secure page or there's no shield, here is a more general suggestion.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

ECC Client switch to SCM 7.0

Hello,
We are planning to switch our ECC Development client from 120 to 130 which is already connected to SCM system and has data related to ECC 120.
When switch the ECC client from 120 to 130 and run the Integration Models again, what are possibilities of SCM system data to become junk or Inconsistent?
1). SCM data needs to be scrambled before we run the Integraion Models from New client?
2). SCM data gets appended with new Data from new client?

It depends on which modules of SCM you are using. If you are using DP integrated with a BI system, the Infocubes/ Time Series Data could be inconsistent after switching. If you are using GATP with Product Allocation (again due to DP/ BI linkage), you could have the same issue.
Other than that you might be ok if you simply do CIF initialize (RIMODINI) and also do a Transaction data reconciliation (/SAPAPO/CCR).
As far as possible, my opinion is that it is always better to rebuild the SCM system everytime the connected ECC client changes rather than attempt to clean it. The reason is that should anything look funny in Development (either due to an enhancement or while testing standard functionality), you will always be thinking in the back of your mind that it might be due to the client switching. The fewer wild cards you introduce in your development environment, the better off your testing.

WAP 321 disconnecting all associated clients

I am a newbie technical support. Currently, I encountered a issue about WAP321 that will occasionally disconnecting all the clients(about 7 clients only) in one shot and cannot connect back at all. However, after login to the Web Gui and reboot the WAP321. It is able to connect again.
I had upgrade the firmware to 1.0.4.2 but the problem still exists. The AP is using only WPA2-Personal.
The environment of the AP is like this:
Internet->Watchguard Firewall (with AP too but different SSID with the WAP321, flat vlan) ->switches and WAP321
Is that any misconfiguration of the AP or the network environment cause this issue?
Another problem is the time of the AP cannot be fixed. I had tried either set the time using NTP (port 123 is opened in firewall) or manually input but it will revert back to 1999 after reboot.

Filter off all the unwanted org elements from the selection screens

The client does not want to see SAP predelivered organization elements in the production system.
Is there a way to achieve this globally, by some kind of filter applicable to selection screens of all transactions?
Just to be clear- i do not want to do this for every transaction separately. neither will security set up help, because it becomes voluminous.

VTP client spontaneously becoming server?

Hello all,
I recently heard of an instance in which a VTP client was connected to a network without first being erased or having it's VTP revision reset to 0. The revision number on this client was higher than that of the network it was connected to and, according to the person I was speaking with, the vtp client promoted itself to vtp server and wiped out their vlan config.
My question is: Can this actually happen or has someone fed him a line? I've never heard of that occuring and cannot find any documents referencing anything like that.

This does indeed happen. It's not that the client has become a server, it's just the normal behavior of a client is not what you might expect from its name. The VTP domain can be updated by clients as well as by servers; all that is needed is a higher configuration revision. The only difference between a server and a client is that the CLI in a client will not allow you to modify the database.
