All the photos on my iphone disappeared. Is there anything that I can do?

There has been a glitch on my iphone where all the photos in my album duplicated itself. So I decided to take the time to delete all the duplicates. Now, all the photos are gone, and I tried plugging it into my Windows computer to restore to the previous backup. As I plugged the phone in, I quickly cancelled the automatic sync. But the back up that shows up on itunes is the back up that was created as I plugged the phone in today. Is there anything I can do to get my photos back ?

What photos?
Photos that you synced from your computer to iphone should still be on your computer.
Camera Roll photos ( taken with iphone)? You should be importing these regularly to your computer as you would from any digital camera. If for some reason you have failed to do this, then you would have to be able to restore from a previous backup where the pics were present ( if on exists). Otherwise they are gone. Import regularly.

I recently purchased an IPad Air and it has been working fine for around 5 months. Ultimately if those things do not get it to work... the circuit board may be toast.
I've been hearing lately that people are having the same issue with their iPhones, a friend's experience with apple tech support in the store resulted in that explanation, and he was told to buy a new phone since it was over a year old.

Thanx for the link...here's my problem. I built my windows pc and installed 2 hard drives...but the larger one isn't accessible right now...not sure why...but the solid state little one is full. This is a problem I need one of my kid's to help me address. I have a lot of photos 'cause my husbands into photography, we travel a lot, and somehow thousands of photos he took, plus ones I took, plus videos I took, ended up on my iPhone...and they are different in a lot of cases from the photos on the iPad that we share. I know I have 2 address this someday, bu don't have time right now...and I can't take any new photos or videos...or even add an app for that matter, until I free up some space on my iPhone. We've already taken two brief trips where I wanted to use my camera and couldn't...and I was looking for a quick way to address my picture taking ability...because we are leaving for another trip in a week, and another one right after that. This is probably way more info than you need...but there are probably duplicates...but until I go thru them I won't know. I could be wrong, but I thought when I backed up my photos to iCloud that all the photos in the photo app were backed up. Maybe I'm wrong and it's only those in the Photo Stream...in which case I should do something about that as well, 'cause I've upgraded our storage plan twice now...and it is getting pretty expensive...and I don't even know how to use it other than to do a complete restore when you get a new device which I just did recently because my son wanted our old iPad for a graduation present, and I kind of wanted the better camera on the new iPad, so I got one...and it took a week to retrieve everything from the cloud on our wi-fi! IF you have successfully imported your pictures to your Mac http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 then it's safe to delete it from your phone.
If you want the pics back on your phone, just sync them back using itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

Did you move to iOS 8 via iTunes? Your photos should all be on your iPhone 5s without any issues even if you updated via WiFi. The update should have no impact on your photos other than to have moved any photos in your former Camera Roll to your Photos. When opening the Photo App you should see Photos and Albums available at the bottom of the screen. You can also look at Settings>General>About and looking down the list your should see the word Photos and a Count at the right. This count should represent all of the photos in your iPhone.

What version of system and iPhoto are you using? Did you actually move the photos to the iPhoto Trash bin and empty it or do you just not see photos in the library?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?

If you expect to use a WiFi only iPad it needs a wireless network. It is customary to have your own versus using someone else's.
Nothing is more network friendly than an iPad.

Unplug it and let unit go dead. Then hold your Home button down and plug the USB power cord back in. iTunes should see it and then restore.

If this is Internet related, the slow downs can be caused by increased user activity on your ISP's server.
The more people on your ISP's server doing things on the Internet, the slower your connection will be.
Is there certain times of the day when you notice the Internet is slow?
If so, that's probably the reason.
Also, do you share a connection with anyone else? Either on WiFi or Ethernet?
That will slow your connection, too!
Do you know what your Internet download speeds are?
Not a high enough bandwidth and slow downs will be more evident.
If on a WiFi, is the router you are you using 802.11 B, G, or N speeds?
Might be time from a newer, faster router?

Force eject a stuck cd/dvd
First try the normal methods to remove the disc. Drag its icon to the Trash can in the Dock or select 'Eject' from the File menu.
If you are running a virtual machine, e.g. VMFusion, ensure that the CD is disconnected from the virtual machine. This will sometimes allow the CD to now show up in Mac OS X.
Shut down the computer and start up whilst holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared.
If you have Toast Titanium installed on your computer, choose EJECT DISC from the menubar.
Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder
Open Disc utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button.
Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism.
Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray.
If your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button.

If all the photos from my iPhone 4s Camera Roll show up in iPhoto under Library- Photos, is it safe to delete them from the iPhone and not risk losing them?

I am getting messages about being out of space on my phone for taking any more photos. I am scared to delete anything with all the photo stream and syncing that happens cause I don't want the photo to delete in many places at the same time.
So, 1) when is it safe to delete from the iPhone? 2) I feel like I have multiple copies of photos stored between the phone, Photos Library in iPhoto and all my albums in iPhoto. Is there a best practice document on how to manage your photos for space savings?
I've looked, but can't find my answer clearly in the forums.
