All the websites come up in a word document form
The format of the websites is all wrong. it happens the most to youtube. all of the text goes into a word format instead of the way it is intended to. I have no clue how to fix it. some times it goes away but it always comes back.
You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it. -

And it is only a problem if you want a blank first screen. Personally, it would drive me nuts always having to swipe over one page to get to my apps - the only time I unlock my iPhone is to use it or run an app, so no, I have no need nor desire to have a first screen with no icons at all.
But, if they'd put it in as an option so people like yourself can also have what they want, that's fine too So send them your feedback (they actually do listen - iOS 5 includes a number of things people have been asking for on these forums, like being able to delete individual entries from the call history, inproved alerts/notifications, being able to opt out of all the location based data they collect,...). -
Where is the bookmarks stored?
I Install the Firefox once again since I upgrade my computer.
And I try to move the bookmarks from the old computer to the new one.
But I can't find anyone of them.
Is there any folder just like "favourite" to store the html file?

If you don't care about saving your current bookmarks, you can skip creating new profile (Firefox does it by itself at first run anyway).
I'd might suggest you to install addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410/|Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync]. It is a free web service which synchronizes bookmarks and (optionally) passwords with central server, and then to other computers, if you installed it on more. You may treat is as a backup too. -

I want to use my ipad to display song lyrics. I have all the lyrics on my computer in Word format and want to know the easiest way to convert them to my ipad and what apps I should use.
I would just leave them in Word...GR reads many formats very easily.
If our goal is to work on/edit the files it may be useful to look into something like Pages if you have a Mac, and the Pages for iOS devices so you could use the same word processor on both machines.
But if you convert the Word to PDF and then use GR you can still edit the files...GR will edit and annotated PDF files rather easily. -

I want to make book's layout in ID CS4 and its main feature is that there is the left page with text and the right - with graphics.
So, as I understand to place the text on each page I must create for example 70 Word documents and place each item on 70 left pages???
It loks like wasting time. I sthere another way of making such layout??? What kind????It's best to place any text.
You can have all of your text in one file and use auto-flow to add threaded text frames and pages as required (Hold down the Shift key when you click the loaded text cursor), but it's a little non-standard to have the thread only on one side of the spread from the auto-flow perspective, so you'll have to set up properly.
This is one case where a master text frame will work to your advantage. On your master page spread, add a text frame to the left page, but not to the right (or at least not threaded to one on the right -- for some other project you might actually want two independent text threads). Hold the loaded cursor over a frame on the left side of a document page and auto-flow. ID will add new spreads as necessary, but only put the text on the left side.

i've got this text from a client full with webadresses, some end with .com or .nl and i would like to highlight these adressess in bold and blue... i created a textstyle for it but the only thing i manage to get as a result is only the beginning of the website 'www.' i know it's possible but my skills are lacking in this departement...

parentheses groups #2-5 (2nd OR group): e-mail address. Note: a "mailto://" prefix does not get matched here.
parentheses groups #6-13 (3rd OR group): URL, with a mandatory prefix "http://", "https://", "ftp://", and some more ("smb://", for example, is a Samba server file prefix). This also includes "ftps://", which was unknown to me but it appears it's perfectly valid.
It does not match the "mailto://" prefix for an e-mail address, but that's a moot point because the URL may not contain a @ character anyway.
This group correctly recognizes URLs that contain one or more hyphens in the base name (it also correctly rejects hyphens in the domain extension).
parentheses groups #14-15: (4th and last OR group): any non-prefixed URL, recognized solely on the basis of "any sequence of word characters, including the hyphen, followed by a period, optionally followed by some more characters (including both period and forward slash but excluding the hyphen), followed by at least two uppercase or lowercase letters.
This last one is responsible for (a) recognizing both "deadline.com" and "keefe-studios.com" as URLs, but (b) also rejecting "www.test-test.com" -- a hyphen in the 'center', fully optional, part.
Interestingly, there are more differences between the more exact 'match only with prefix' and the catch-all 'match about anything'. The former includes among the allowed characters: ':' (which, if I recall correctly, is only valid if a port number follows!), '#', '$', '%', '&', '?' and '+', so it matches a server query as well:

The latter does not include all of these characters, just letters, numbers, the hyphen (but not in all positions), and a period. It's probably because this is an unreliable way to match URLs after all -- hence the number of 'false hits'. These would only increase with even more allowed characters.
Lesson learned: to be assured "Create Hyperlinks Automatically" works as expected, make sure URLs are prefixed with "http://", and mail addresses are not prefixed with "mailto://". I didn't test if the function actually creates a correct e-mail link, but even if it does the prefix is not included in the clickable linked text.
(Also interestingly, it appears a GREP style, fed with this same query, doesn't stumble over the hyphen whereas a GREP find does. I don't think I'm capable of figuring that one out.) -
Copying tables from the pdf file & loosing all table format when pasted into a word document
I have tables in an Adobe Reader 9.2 file that need to be placed in a word document.
When I copy the table and paste it into the word document I loose all table formating and am left w/just text--and, not in the right places, I might add.

Thanks! EdieThe only thing that comes close is to use the Snapshot tool (from the Tools Menu) and copy the entire table and paste it, but it treats it as a graphic (picture) and you can no longer edit cells.

Where do I get the firefox toolbar that has all the website page rankings on it?
I had firefox previously on a different comp. I downloaded firefox on a new comp. but the toolbar with all of the website page rankings is not there as it was with my previous version.
