All tracks burn to one track

A friend of mine is trying to burn a playlist of 6 songs to CD. After it burns and he puts it into his truck's CD player, it says that there are 6 tracks, but tracks 2-6 are empty and all 6 songs are on the first track. What's up with that?
When I burn him songs from my iTunes, everything works as it should, so I don't think it's his CD player in his truck that's screwed up.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? He's using a PC running Windows XP.

That was actually helpful because before your answer I was pretty convinced that there was something in the preference pane I needed to mess with. I was getting really frustrated because there was nothing there. Your message made me look more at the mixer (way more than I already was). This whole project is in SP and doesn't have ties to FCP at all. I'm still trying to get used to which channels need to be open for what (control room etc.). I'm not sure if those are terms coined by Alesis or if they're general terms. Anyway, run a podcast and keep everything open so that I can play music directly from iTunes. Basically, everything being played was getting into the mixer. Had I gotten an email, the notification would have been recorded. Everything was fixed with the push of a button.

How do I make all the clips on one track the same volume?

I am trying to raise the volume equally on all the clips. One would think that it would be as simple as turning up the volume knob on the audio mixer on the track with all the clips, but of course not, that would be TOO simple. When I raise the volume, it keeps jumping back and forth as if I asked it to key frame the volume knob. How can I perform the simple task of raising all the clip volumes to the same volume ?

I do not recall what version of Premiere Elements that you are using nor the computer operating system on which it is running.
So, I will generalize for now, referencing version 12...
1. Assuming you have several Timeline audio clips that you want with the same volume...select the first, go to Adjust Tab/Adjustments Palette/Volume Panel expanded and adjust the Volume.
2. Then right click the that first file (with the adjusted Volume), select Copy.
3. Select all the other audio clips that you want to have the same Volume level. Then right click anywhere in the selection and select Paste Effects and Adjustments.
Does that work for you.
If you have video with its audio linked to it, depending on the specific circumstances to be discussed later, you might want to unlink the audio and video beforehand.

Logic connects all existing recordings in one track when recording....

This is a strange issue I am having every once in a while which messes up my whole file. This happens when I record a track. After I am done, it connects every file I have recorded IN that one track, making it a very very long file. Well, no problem, I just undo. Well, now it has erased EVERYTHING IN that track. If I do undo again, it brings everything back BUT, only a small little part of each of the track. I am talking about a very small slice. I then try to grab that slice on the bottom, trying to extend it, but can't. What is the deal here. I then have to quit (not saving of course) and re-open the file. Anybody else have this problem?

I do have 10.5.6, I need to update that. Just to clarify, Im not talking about recording audio, Im talking about recording an Audio instrument.
It messes up my file in that if I forget to save for a while and this happens, I have to quit out of it since I can't get any recordings back that I had in that whole specific track.
It looks very strange. For example if I have about 10 small files in that track, it puts them all together in one long track. Sure I can cut them and it would be fine but, I'd rather get this fixed.
My start up disk still has 121GB space left and when I record audio, it's at 48k.

Copy and Paste audio track MIX from one track to another??

What's the best way to handle this.
I have a video with one long music track, that I mixed using Adobe Premiere's Audio Mixer.
The musician made a new version of the track with some very slight modifications in the music.
Rather than having to remix the entire new track, I would prefer to either:
1) Copy and paste the attributes of the orginal audio track onto the new music track -- retaining the Mix I did from the original mix. Is this possible? I tried it once and it did not seem to work. (I used the Mixer, not keyframes, to do all of the mix.)
or
2) Is there a setting in Premiere's Audio mixer to "gang" the new track to the old one -- with the new track cloning the old track's mix.
Or would it be better to bring the two audio tracks into Soundbooth and do it there?

I did a complicated mix on one long background music track and was not looking forward to doing that remix because of various minor music changes made by the musician scattered throughout that long track.
Your Alt (for replace solution) worked perfectly and saved me a ton of time.
The fact that Copy attributes for Audio doesn't work for copying audio keyframes is another reason do do audio mixes using the Mixer instead of using keyframes to adjust volume.

How can I export 6 mono tracks and a one track two channel stereo pair in a quicktime as separate tracks?

I'm using Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.1) and need to export a 5.1 mix as well as the stereo tracks as 7 separate tracks in a quicktime. If I select 8 channels it automatically creates 8 tracks. Also, if I export the the seventh stereo track as mono track won't it play mono?

First of all thanks so much for the response and info. Just to clarify, you're saying I will need 8 tracks, 2 of which will be designated for the stereo pair, right? My concern is that I'm supposed to deliver only 7 tracks. They want the stereo pair as separate channels on one track. I'm wondering if I can create a one track stereo pair and put it on a stereo track, then export only the seven mono tracks (plus an empty track). Would the stereo still work?

Can't multi-track record MIDI... all channels sent to one track

Hi... I am trying to play back and dump all eight MIDI tracks of a Roland MC-505 pattern simultaneously to discrete separate tracks on the computer. In ProTools I was able to do this, but in Logic it's merging all the channels' data to the single track currently selected in the track list. Then when I press "stop" I see regions of identical size appear in all the other tracks, but they are only aliases without any data in them.
I have each track in Logic set to its single respective MIDI channel in the Inspector, but it doesn't seem to make a difference one way or the other, with regards to what's going on here.

I don't know if this will help you but there is a song setting that you can try.
Go to Settings > Recording Tab > and enable (check) "Auto Demix by Channel if Multitrack Recording".
That may help you.

All files burn as single track

i did not join cd tracks, but every cd i burn, burns as a single treck. how do i correct this??

I found a workaround. I brought the .wav file into a different tab [sequence] and then copied and pasted it from there to the sequence where it only previously appeared as a single track, and now it appears as two tracks, like normal. So, it works, I guess. Ugh.

Instrument track only plays one track at a time

Logic Studio will only play one instrument track at a time. Whenever I click to another instrument track I lose the sound. The channel strip meter still shows that the instrument is playing but there is no sound. When I click back on that channel strip I can hear the sound again. Although the channel strip meter works, the strip in the mixer doesn't show any signal at all. It seems that the track is working but there doesn't seem to be any output to the mixer. I have checked all of the solo buttons and none are on. I opened a blank project and all of the software instruments worked just fine; it is only in this project that I can't get more than one instrument track to play at a time.

I think this project might be damaged, and it would be great if we could take a look at it, as Bee Jay suggested. In the meantime, you should try what Erik suggested about option-click. And here are a few other ideas, although I'm not too optimistic.
Select any region and press S. Three things should happen: this region should have a yellow outline, the ruler should turn yellow, and the solo button in the transport bar should turn yellow. Press S again, and those three things should revert to normal. Is this what happens? It just might be helpful to know.
In the Mixer window, find the button at the top that says "All," and select it. Make sure to look at every channel strip. No yellow S button anywhere? Do you see any Mute buttons flashing?
Press option-K to open the key commands window. In the search box, type "solo off" (without the quote marks). You will see the command 'Solo off for all.' Probably no key is assigned. Give it a key (option-1 might be a good choice, because it's probably available). Close the key commands window, and press the key stroke. Better now?

I have a feeling that when you say "channel strip meter" you mean 'track header meter.' Because it's completely normal that when a midi track is muted (e.g., because another track is soloed) that the track header meter will keep lighting up, even though there's no sound and even though the meter in the mixer (on what is properly called the channel strip) is dark.
The meter in the track header is just indicating that Logic is reading midi from the track. Whether or not that midi gets to become sound is something that happens downstream, and is not reflected in this meter.

Making multiple tracks play as one track in a certain order during shuffle

Many albums have songs that are ment to be played in order as if they were one song such as a song with a prelude. On most CDs, these are stored as separate tracks that get played out of order during shuffle. Is there a way to link specific tracks together so they will always be played in order even during shuffle?

Why video with two audio tracks imports like one track (main)?

Ok, lets face one simple thing that is incredibly stupid in Premiere CC:
- I make video with two audio tracks (screencast with system sounds and microphone, separated)
- Import it to Premiere CC and see only one audio track, system sounds!
- What should I do to see both of them?
- Why Sony Vegas don't make me to go to support forums and make them both visible without extra actoins?

Bought album from itunes, but one track doesn't play all the way through

Hi I bought No Place Like Home from Manoa DNA. All of the tracks playback except one, track 10 Ka Nohona Pili Kai/Nada Sou Sou. Through the song as it plays, when it gets to timestamp 1:05, it stops playing and plays track 11. After timestamp 1:05 doesnt finish playing the rest of the song. What do I do? Who do I contact for this problem to fix? I paid $9.99 for the whole album and one track isn't working. What is going on???

Delete the troublesome song from your library and download it again from your Purchased History. If the replacement download still has the same problem (rare, but it can happen if the original in the store is corrupt) use the report a problem link from your account history.

Joining Multiple CDs into One Track

I listen to books on CD. When I rip each CD I join the tracks to get one track for each CD. Is there a way to join all 8 or 9 CDs into one big single track so I will have only a single track for the book?
It would be easier to bookmark a single track than trying to remember if I was on CD 6 or CD 7 or whatever.

You want the Join Together script, which merges tracks after you've ripped them to your computer. Bear in mind that this script converts your files to AAC, so unless you're starting from lossless files, you'll be trans-coding.

How to name tracks within one track.

Hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to add track listings within one track just say like on a mixtape.
A compilation of songs played out into ine track that would go for roughly 45 mins. Ive seen it done on a few tracks before where under the name of the whole track it would have the album name and then cycle through the idividual track names as it would come to it.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Maybe I'm misreading the interface. I figured out that I can select multiple clips by holding down control and clicking on their title bars, but only the last track stays selected. (see attached). I guess Audition is supposed to work like this. Maybe I don't understand enough about it yet. I'm used to Sonar and Audacity. Thanks again.

Burn CD: must contain at least one track-error

In Waveburner, when I click burn CD I get an error: "A project must contain at least one track"
I selected 8 tracks in my saved project and clicked Burn CD. I did the same unselected.
I get the same error every time. Why?

In the meantime I figured out why I was getting this error. Although I don't understand why I even got this.
The existing 8 tracks I imported with Import from the desktop into this WaveBurner project. Working in Regions tab all the time I did not realize that when I switched to the CD tracks tab there was nothing there. No regions and title list. So I made a new project and imported the audio files again making sure the CD tracks tab was selected refore. After that regions and listings were there both in regiones and CD tracks tab. I think Import
should have taken care of that. I don't get it why there was nothing when I clicked the CD track tab.

I would like to know how to insure that all track from a CD I rip into i-tunes all go into the same file regardless of the artist on the CD. I was recdently importing an All Time Low CD into i-Tunes for my daughter and because one track featured a guest a

i would like to be able to insure that when i import a CD into i-Tunes that all tracks from that CD go into a single file for that album in their proper order regardless of whether or not there is a featured artist on one or two tracks or whatever. i recentl;y imported an All Time Low CD into i-Tunes for my daughter and because one song featured a guest artist i-Tunes placed that song in a seperate folder and so when i synced my daughters i-Pod Touch that one track is not with the rest of the tracks form the album and has to be listened to seperately. The song is from the same album and should be where it belongs with the rest of that album so she can listen to the entire album with the tracks in the proper order. I am sure that this can be done i just don't know how.

Edit the Name of the problem song to Name [Feat. Guest]
Change the Artist of that song to All Time Low

What you want cannot be done. iTunes has its quirks, and the above is the kind of workaround needed to make the media display sensibly on any device. The article I pointed you to has others that you may find useful in future.
