All tracks playing automatically

I have sync'ed my iPhone with iTunes. One of the Playlists has several Tracks. When the first Track is fully played the iPhone stops. I have to press again Play button for the second Track. How do I make all the Tracks played automatically in serial?

Look at the songs in iTunes on your computer (list view). Does each song have a check mark in the box to the left of the song's name.? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other.
To check or uncheck all boxes on a PC with one click, hold down the Control (ctrl) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse. You can use this in a library, a playlist or in search results.
To check or uncheck all boxes on a Mac with one click, hold down the Command (cmd) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse.
Then sync your iPhone again.

  • Not all tracks play in playlists on iPad

    I have various playlists set up on my Windows 8.1 laptop. some of which I sync with my iPad.
    I have noticed that although all the track names etc. appear in the Music app on the iPad, when I play the playlist, all the tracks do not play.  I have two questions:
    1) Is there a way to find out if the files are on the iPad but not playing, or if they're not actually there, and
    2) a) If they are there, how do I get them to play, or
        b) If they're not there, why not, and how do I get them there?

    I too have a Beep and have the same/similar problem. I run Spotify connect from my phone or laptop and connect to the Beep. When playing a playlist or radio station it will often repeat tracks and sometimes just get stuck playing the same couple of tracks over and over. If I try and queue tracks it is even worse. For example if I queue tracks 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5. It will play tracks 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. This seems to have been a problem ever since Spotify introduced the "Play Queue" screen showing "Current Track", "Queued Track" and "Next track". The "Queued Tracks" will list the tracks I have queued, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. But the "Next Tracks" will list tracks 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  And that is what plays. This makes queuing absolutely useless. Infact the whole "Current Track", "Queued Track" and "Next track" thing is a complete mess.

    I am webmaster for my church website where I post audio sermons using the MS Media Player Plugin. On my XP SP3 computer using Firefox 7 the fifteen audio sermons on the website all start playing automatically when I access the web page. Previous versions of Firefox worked fine and my wife's Win 7 computer using Firefox 7 works fine.

    Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced and make sure that "Keep..." is *not checked.* That is the only iTunes option that would move files around.
    While you are at it, also make sure that "Copy..." is unchecked too. The iTunes will have no option but to play the file you have without moving or changing anything.

    I have an ipod nano 6th generation. I want to play all tracks on an album sequentially (as if I was playing a CD) without having to select each one in turn. On my ipod nano it repeats the same song and wont move to the next one automatically. can anyone help ?

    The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen.  While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

  • Next album track not playing automatically

    When I listen to my music on I Tunes the next album track does not come on automatically. Can anyone advise me what I need to do please - presumably soemthing to do with the settings ?

    Are the tracks unchecked perhaps? Unchecked tracks are skipped during normal playback but can be played individually.
    Alternatively, if you're in shuffle mode and all tracks have "Skip when shuffling" selected then once the first track completes nothing else should play.

  • Genre changes automatically to "(17)" after track plays after update

    Ever since I updated to the new version of iTunes (v9.2.1), the genre automatically changes to "(17)" after a track plays. I've tried restarting iTunes and rebooting my computer. This is really annoying...

    It seems iTunes changes the genre to its numerical representation. See the 'official' genre list at http://www.id3.org/id3v2.3.0 for details; according to this list (17) is 'Rock'.
    For me it helped when I right-clicked (ctrl-click if you don't have a right mouse key) on the songs and selected 'Convert ID3 Tags' (not sure about the actual name since I don't have it in English), checked ID3 Tag Version to the most recent one (v2.4) and clicked on OK.
    Doing this might take quite a while, depending on the size of your library. But the songs with converted tags will keep their genres.
    Unfortunately you have to manually fix the ones whose genre has already been messed up. You can look up the right genre in the genre list (see above). Change to list view and select all songs with the same number on order to fix their genre at once to save time.
    I hope Apple will fix this misbehaviour soon.

    Sounds like you have a "damaged track" or "damaged file".
    This worked for me today downloading Kendrick Lamar's new Album "good kid, m.A.A.d city".
    My situation: I bought the album today for my Mac,  MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S devices.
    Issue: One song (only on my MacBook Pro) would not play, instead display "
    EX: left"
    Solution: 1. Manually delete the song (giving you the error) permantly from the authorized computer.
    2. Open iTunes, Click iTunes Store (left sidebar), and locate Quick Links and then click Purchased to proceed.
    3. Click "Not On This Computer", find the song that wouldn't play, and re-download it again.
    4. Check your Music Library for your song (Should download inside the associated album) and hit play.
    EX: (Song I purchased that wouldn't play because of authorization, playing)

    what is the problem? Can't you drag the audio region to the right, or is the silence at the beginning of the track missing?
    You could mark the measures you want to export by the Cycle region. Then any beginning silence will be included.

  • Music DVD - Play All / Track selection

    I've built a DVD project with buttons which link to stories for each individual track, which returns to the menu and the next track's button.
    For the 'Play All' button, do I just use a normal button pointing to Chapter 1 - or do need to create a story sequence? If I point the button to chapter 1, will only this chapter play, or will the entire feature (13 music clips in one track) play right through to the end?

    With my Muvo Slim 52, firmware .0.05, whenever I turn the unit on, it starts to play a track, EVEN if there was NO track playing when I turned off the unit. In a similar situation, after I have transferred files onto the unit - as soon as I disconnect the USB cable - the unit powers itself on, and the first track starts to play - before I even press the play button. QUESTIONS --- () Is "automatically playing track after power on" a normal behavior? (2) Is there any way to stop this i.e. so that a track only starts playing (or resumes) when I MYSELF press play? (3) If not, how can such a feature be requested in a future firmware revision?

    I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
    (Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Play All track (with Story functions) not working

    I'm using a single track as my Play All function for a dvd of several short films and using Story functions to have the individual films play from their own menus.
    But the Play All track won't play all the way through though it does if I press >| (next chapter) button on my remote control. Each film plays fine from its own menu as an individual track though.

    Play All Story would include all markers, a story to just play a section would include the marker for just the one section. You can put the markers in any order you like and can duplicate the markers. If you drop all the markers in the next button will work until the last marker in the story, then there will be no other marker left (but you can put a "fake" marker in the track to jump to for the last real marker)

  • Can I have music played automatically when my web site opens?

    I have gotten as far as placing an audio clip on my "about me" page but it seems to require hitting play in order to hear it. Is there a way to have the audio played automatically when the web site comes up? Also can you have it continue to all of the pages? Or is there some other stuff I am missing??

  • How do I keep a record of the last track played in an album?

    I have a lot of albums which have many completely individual pieces of music. For example Chopin ballades. I may only listen to a single track and not return to that album for several months. Is there a way to record the last track played in an album that show up next time the album is open? I'm thinking of something like the little blue arrow that shows which track is now playing.

    For the Last Played column to make any sense, you need to click on the Last Played title itself, so that an arrow appears in the title, pointing down. If it points up, simply click on it a second time and it will point down. This puts everything in "last played" order, with the most recent played at the top of the list.
    You cannot see the Last Played information on your iPhone, but a Smart Playlist may help. In this respect, an iPhone is just like an iPod Touch, and almost the same as an iPod Classic.
    To create your style of Smart Playlist in iTunes (which is then Synced to your iPhone), make a note of the following:
         A.  Album name (copy it, ready to paste into step 4, below.)
         B.  The number of "plays" times you're going to set. For example, if most tracks have been played twice, and some only once, and you want to begin by playing only the tracks that have been played once, then choose "2". (It will make sense, in steps 7 & 8.)
    Now perform the following steps:
    Click on File/New Smart Playlist (on the top menu bar)
    In the dialogue box that appears, change "Artist" to Album (from the drop-down menu)
    Change "contains" to is (from the drop-down menu)
    In the empty box, type (or paste) in the name of the album (it must be exactly the same, no errors. That's why I suggested copy-and-paste.)
    Click on the + symbol at the end of the current line (this creates a new line)
    Change "Artist" to Plays (from the drop-down menu)
    Change "is" to is less than (from the drop-down menu)
    In the third field, which probably has a 0 in it, replace the zero with 2 (the number you decided in the preparation step B, above)
    Leave all the other boxes and fields as they are. (You may notice that the very first one at the top, has changed. This is normal, it now reads "match all the following rules".)
    Click on OK.
    The Smart Playlist should be automatically given the name of the "album name" field from line 1. You can change it if you wish, to whatever you prefer. It will contain only the tracks from your chosen album that have been played less than twice.
    If the Playlist is not in track order, simply add the Track No. column to this Playlist and click on the title bar (as before) to make "track no." the decider. Then Sync your iPhone to iTunes.
    Here's a list I prepapred. Notice only the eight songs that have been played less than four times, are shown. The other eight songs have all been played at least four times:
    Notice too, that my track order is correct, and that the priority column is the "number" column on the left.
    Finally; when the list empties out because all tracks have been played three times, simply edit the Smart Playlist to is less than "3".

  • How can I quickly get the same album art for all tracks on an album without manually doing them one at a time?

    I am having trouble with album art linked to each track. My library is ripped from my own cd's and ITunes only provides some of the artwork from a find artwork search. The rest must be found and added one at a time manually from web. This process is tedious and time consuming for me. Is there a file in iTunes related to each album that I can just drop the art once and it shows up linked to all the tracks from that album when they play? I've tried selecting all songs from an album and dragging the artwork to the artwork window once in hopes of all tracks getting the artwork at the same time with no luck. Any advice for this paltry artwork dilemma would be appreciated. If Cassidy & Greene still owned this ******* child of SoundJam I know I would not be having this problem! HaHa...Thanks for any advice/help with this problem.

    Thx 4 quick reply alexbird. Your method will work and after a little experimenting so will this: Just go to the album art view option and highlight the album you want artwork for. Drag the artwork from your album art web search page to bottom left hand album art window in iTunes and just drop it there. A small progress window then appears showing each album track adopting the dropped artwork one by one. It only takes 10-15 seconds for all of the tracks on your album to adopt the new artwork. I then went back and removed unwanted artwork(from the albums that had it) track by track from the get info menu. This goes pretty quick as you just pick track>get info>artwork>highlight art>delete>ok for each track.
    This drag/drop to the album art view page has been the simplest and most effective way I have discovered to manually import album artwork into iTunes so far. Hope this helps someone else out there. Any other methods or suggestions to do this task added to this thread will be duly noted. Thx... Oh, I am currently using iTunes 10.5.1
