All video streaming has continuous pixelation/macroblocking issues

On youtube, dailymotion, vimeo, etc.  (all internet video streaming sites)  the video becomes pixelated and I get macroblocking.  It appears for a few seconds, then it goes away, then a few seconds later it comes back.  It does this continuously off and on.  This happened before and I couldn't find a solution so I re-installed Windows 7 and then the problem went away.  But only 3 weeks into the new re-boot and the problem has resurfaced.  I have no idea what happened or how to fix it.  Please help!!  I can give you the specs for my PC and let you know whatever else is needed to solve this problem.  My PC skills are not that advanced, but I can follow directions very well.  This problem is starting to really piss me off.  When I download a youtube video, the problem is not there when I watch it on VLC media player.  The problem is only present when I am streaming it from the internet.  This problem just "appeared".  It was not there on a clean re-install.  I  don't know how it re-surfaced again.  I've searched through other forums an I cannot find an answer anywhere!  I need to know the source of the problem and I thought it might be Adobe Flash, but I am not sure.  When the videos become pixelated, it looks like this (I took a screen shot):

My browser is Firefox version 18.0 (it is up-to-date) and I have DownloadHelper version 4.9.13 and Adblock Plus version 2.2.1 as add-ons.  My Adobe flash player version is 11.5.502.146.  My operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).  The HTML5 video worked perfectly fine.  No problems with that one.  The Non-HTML5 video showed the same problems I keep running into.  Here is a cropped screenshot of it:
Thank you.  I really appreciate the help.  So what is the next step???  The HTML5 video had no problems and worked perfectly fine.  I figured it would just be easier to show my entire system information (motherboard, processor, video card etc.), so here is the output from the DirectX Diagnotic Tool regarding my system information:

I am getting entries which are 'all day' entries duplicated 8 to 9 times. I have updated my software on the phone to the latest version. Entries in iCal are only once.  I have completely emptied my iPhone of all data. Has Apple resolved the issue yet?

Simple solution. Get a real internet service and not a cell phone internet connection service it was never meant to be used as the primary internet service
And how do you lose a home and job and be sued as you claim. What over 10 Gb of data? Give me a break
In my city small claims is $5000.00
And over that amount you can go to a superior court to have your issue settled.

    Good Luck, Elector

  • All video streaming stops

All video streams (NBC, ABC, Netflix) stop playing and require a system reset to begin playing again. When one service's video stops, all stop until the reset. Everything else still works. This began about a week ago on our iPad 1. Ideas?

I've tried both things, but video still stutters.. Have also tried removing profile, and complete reinstall of firefox.
I'm on 24 Mbit cable and the only user atm. IE and Chrome seems to work without stuttering.
I've having this stuttering every ~5th second, like a small "1/4 sec buffering".

  • All Video Streams out of sync

A few months back I noticed that when I watched online movies on Netflix about 10 minutes in the video becomes choppy and then the voice/video are out of sync. I thought it was just Netflix (called them - they told me my PROCESSOR needed to be updated bc it was too slow!). NOW all videos (youtube too) are messed up - 5-10 min in.
I have a Macbook Pro, 8 GB Ram, 2.26 Processor. It is a mid 2009 laptop.
Should I just go to Genius Bar???
    Thanks for ANY suggestions!

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.

  • All video fomats import as pixelized or audio only

The video was recorded on a gopro camera and is an H 264 format with an extension of mp4
When I import the file as is, it comes in as just an audio file
I have also tried avi and mov (renamed the extension)  - both of those import with the video but is pixelized
What do I need to do to bring the files in properly?
I am using PE version 12.0
Forgive me as I am a new user and don't know much about codecs
    Thanks for your help

The camera is GoPro Hero3 Black Edition
recording in 4k CIN 12 fps
    Computer OS is Win8
    CPU - 2.4 ghz
    Ram - 8 gb
UAC is on - I will turn it off to see if that helps
Also, I am log in as an admin but did not start program as admin - I will try that too
    I have QT version 7.7.5
I pulled up on of the files and selected movie inspector  -insterted a  screen shot below.
I have tried various project settings and to be honest, the settings are over my head so I don't even rememeber what I selected.  I know I selected DSLR 1080p24 and AVCHD 1080p60...both had the same resluts
Also I converted the file to an avi file using GoPro's Studio.  The video still comes in pixelized.
I noticed the video is jumpy when played in GoPro's Studio when playback is set to Best (Full Res) but better when set to draft.  Could it be I don't have enough memory?
    Thanks again for your help

  • New DSLR now all Photo Stream photos are pixelated on iOS devices

I just bought a new Nikon D3100 DSLR and I'm shooting all my photos in RAW. When I import to iPhoto on my Mac all the photos get uploaded to iCloud, cool. When I try to view them on my iPad or iPhone however, they are extremely pixelated. Why would this be?

    macmurray2050 wrote:
So I'm better off shooting in JPEG? I thought it was lossy? I don't do a lot of editing, just tweaks with iPhoto sometimes, if at all. I thought the RAW photos I've taken this weekend since I got my camera (my first DSLR) look fantastic, especially on the new iPad Retina Display (when they work).
OK.  Time for a lot of photographic detail...
Yes, JPG is lossy.  This means that you lose some quality each time that you save or resave it.  It does not mean that it loses quality just sitting there.  The worst thing that you can do is to use a photo editor to modify it significantly AND RESAVE AFTER EACH INDIVIDUAL STEP.  You can be fairly confident that you will begin to notice a difference after a hundred or so saves.  Incidentally, the lossiness contributes to keeping the file size relatively small (there are other factors).
TIF is an alternative to JPG.  It is not lossy because it is not compressed and the file sizes are large.  You can resave a TIF a bazillion times and the act of resaving will not reduce the image quality.  TIF also supports layers.  Many high-end cameras produce RAW and TIF files rather than RAW and JPG.
JPGs and TIFs are both undesireable if you wish to do a lot of your own post-processing because the first time that it's created, some unused characteristics are thrown away.  For example, your photo might have a lot of dark shadows blocking someone's face.  More often than not, that can be corrected but the chances for success are much much greater if done on the RAW (NEF, in your case) photo first.  For post-processing, RAW is always the best choice, TIF is second and JPG comes in dead last.
My camera is always configured for RAW+JPG and, depending on the photo, I use one or the other but never both.  My memory card is large enough that I can afford to be careless with storage space.  If I'm shooting my grand-daughter's birthday party, I almost always throw away the RAW files.  The JPGs go right into iPhoto for minor post-processing and cropping.
If I'm taking serious shots, I throw away the JPGs.  I initially process RAW in Lightroom.  I use LR mostly for sharpening, tone control and exposure adjustments.  I especially like the ability to adjust exposure for selected portions of the images.  I then export as TIF.  I feed the TIF files into Photoshop (I now have CS6, whoopee!) for final processing, mostly anything that requires layering, such as deleting/moving objects.  One photo might take me an hour or more with LR and PS before I'm satisfied.  When finished, I crop and export as JPG, which is what goes into iPhoto and s distributed to family and friends.  I never modify the JPG.
Here are some examples of my work.  These are old shots and at least two were taken with a film camera and scanned.  I haven't been updating the site because it's part of MobileMe and it will go bye-bye the end of June.
rbry and I have discussed this in the past and we have similar tastes in photography.  He didn't give as much detail in his post as I did but I suspect that his work flow is not much different from mine.

I have a brand spankin' new MacBook Pro and over the last few days the video streaming is continuously interrupted.  Choppy and slow.  I have even been unable to play the Apple tutorials.  What could be my issue?  Any help that I could get with this would be greatly appreciated.

The issue is definitely your ISP or your router. Does your router support "N" band. If your router is old and has alot of devices connected to it, this could be the cause of your anxiety.... I recently purchased a new N band router and my wireless connection speed is awesome! I can click anywhere on a Youtube video clip running on 1080p and the video instantly loads. There is no wait time. So again the problem is not your macbook pro and is most likely the transmit speed of your router. A quick way to check is to go to the "airport" symbol at the top of your mac's toolbar... hold option down and click on the airport symbol and see what your transmit speed is as well as the channel and we can reccomend what to do from there. You should also change your security from WEP to WPA-PSK 2 or WPA2 is usually how it is displayed. Hope this helps.

I did not try to use quick time. but how can i use quick time if i am watching for example streaming video on website.?
Make sure you are using the latest .....
    RealPlayer
    Flip4Mac
    VLC Media Player http://perian.org
    Perian (AVI and FLV support)
    MPEG Streamclip
    Adobe Flash Player Software
As others have reported, max out your RAM.
    Type of internet service?
    Choppy YouTube Video Solution
Download the latest flash player from Adobe. After installing, repair permissions & restart your computer.
Go to YouTube, open any video and press pause (don't do this while video is playing). Click the ctrl key or “right click” the mouse in the middle of the video window. The settings for flash player will pop up.
Select the video settings then select "enable hardware acceleration."    Press close. Now RESTART YOUR  COMPUTER not just Safari if that is your browser of choice.
    Good luck!

  • Live stream - How To Detect connection success AND video stream receiving?

    Hi,
I'd like to know how to catch the Event when the NetConnection has successfully connected,
And after being connected, but nostream is published to the server yet.
I'd to catch the Event in OSMF Player, when a real video stream has started to be pusblished to server, and of course is received in the player.
Because i dont find the Event making a difference between connection and stream receiving.
    Thanks.
    Seb

you should watch for a NetStream.Connect.Closed NetStatusEvent being sent to the NetConnection object, where the event.info.stream object is the NetStream in question.

  • Video streaming over airport extreme (b,g,n)

Hi, I hope someone can shed a little light on this problem for me.
I have video files (films etc.) stored on my macpro that I sometimes watch on my mac mini, because it's hooked up to a big screen. They are both connected wirelessly via an Airport extreme base station.
If I set the base station to use the .g transmitter only then all video streams perfectly to the mac mini, no problem. However, I would like to use the .n capability if i can as my macpro is capable and the extra throughput would be nice. But if I swich the base station to any of the .n capable transmitters the streaming capability to my mac mini is terrible. The playback becomes intermittant and slow.
I have tried several of the multicast rates and channels with no improvement. Is there something else I have missed? Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Slow video streaming - help!

My video streaming has always been pretty fast but as of lately it's gone down hill. I'm running in wifi network and the loading of a three minute video takes like 10 minutes
I've tried reseting network settings. Clearing cookies and caches. Resetting. Nothing works and now when I go to open the YouTube app it never finishes loading. I don't know what to do
    any help? PLEASE!

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the iTunes window select your iPhone under Devices on the left then select the Summary Tab.
At the bottom of that window look where it says; Capacity.
Make sure you have sufficient disk space to download video content.
Also, YouTube streams video using the Flash player plugin. Apple/iPhone does not support Flash at this time.

  • Updated DIVX now Firefox doesn't show/stream video at all. This has happened previously and had to re-install but that didn't work this time. Anyone help please?

This only happens when I update DIVX and only affects Firefox. The previous occasions when thiss happened I had to re-install the web player for Firefox, but even that hasn't worked.
I had been watching video stream fine prior to update and it is fine in IE6.
On webpage, vid box shows until play clicked then just a blank space where it should be.

Have you tried exporting a 10 second section of the footage to see if the issue shows up once the seqeunce is actually exported from the timeline. I edit on CS5 with windows 7 pro at work quite often and have no issues so I assure you that isn't the issue. I also edit with AVCHD footage when at home and work quite freqeuntly as well so I'm positive that isn't the issue. It sounds like a GPU driver has been corrupted in the way it interacts with premiere pro. What type of GPU do you have? If it supports MPE's GPU acceleration have you tried turning it off and seeing if that makes any difference?
Anyways though try to export a 10 second test section of your timeline to see if when the clip is exported from premiere it will play normally in windows media player or vlc or w/e media player you want to use. If it exports fine then you can almost be positive it's a corrupted video card driver. If that's the case I'd re-install your GPU's driver and also check your gpu makers website to see if they have a updated driver avaiable.

  • All video content pixelated during playback.

Issue: All video content (Trailers, Podcasts, TV shows stored locally, TV shows & music videos streamed from iTunes) are pixelated. HDMI Audio is unaffected as are the AppleTV menus, screen savers and photo slideshows.
    *Troubleshooting steps taken:*
    Checked HDMI cable connection.
Checked HDMI cable with another device.
Checked various types of video content.
Ran diagnostics on AppleTV. No errors found.
    Restored AppleTV to factory conditions.
    Upgraded to latest firmware.
    Synced content locally.
I have no idea what else to do. Has anyone ran into this situation? What, if anything, could I do to resolve this issue?
I have used my AppleTV without this issue ever happening before as recently as a week ago. The content that I was attempted to watch was purchased from the Apple iTunes store.

Since another device worked with the same cable and port on my Vizio TV I have, the only thing could have been the AppleTV. So I decided to go to the Apple Store. 45 minutes after unplugging the AppleTV I was at the Apple Store. Then after another 40 minutes of waiting for the Genuis, my AppleTV was plugged in and worked perfectly.
The only thing I can think of is the heat from the AppleTV always being on affected the graphics card. Let's see if it happens again.
