All with iTunes connection problem...

If any of you also use the stand alone Yahoo Messenger (the one you download, not the one on their website), are you still able to sign in? I have the iTunes store connection problem, and just installed Yahoo Messenger this afternoon and found that even after creating a new ID, I couldn't log in at all, while I could on Yahoo's website. Installed it on another computer on the same network and it popped right on. Something it blockin both apps from getting a connection or sending log in data, but I don't know what. Be interested to see if anyone else that can't get into iTunes also can't get into Yahoo (or maybe any other IM program).

Yes, there's something in common - a port that got blocked or some other network setting maybe changed by an update or something that's blocking the sending of log in data. The iTunes Store says it's a secure connection - I don't know that Yahoo Log In is done via secure connection or not.
Interestingly, the iTunes network diagnostics lists that it can't connect to any Apple sites at all - even apple.com yet here I am on the same machine using Firefox to type this post on an Apple.com site, so obviously this computer CAN reach Apple.com. I wish I knew an IP or URL to the iTunes Store to try a plain old ping and traceroute outside of iTunes to see if it can be reached from here, but don't know what those would be.

To be on the safe side, see if you can turn the WiFi off when he is playing games on your iPod Touch. This will prevent any app from getting permission from him and reacting to it.
I am still surprised that the app (game) updated itself without seeking for your iTunes password.

  • How i solved my iPod to iTunes connectivity problem

After reading so much advice on this forum, I just wanted to tell you guys about the problem I was having with getting my Windows XP machine and iTunes to communicate with my brand new 80 Gb iPod Classic, and how I finally managed to fix the problem (I hope).
The problem was that my iPod communicated very poorly with my Windows machine and especially with iTunes. When I first bought the iPod, I was able to get it to work with iTunes sporadically. After three days of struggle I was able to sync my 3100 song music library to it, but then things began to deteriote. It got to the point where the iPod would not sync with iTunes, if iTunes recognized it at all. When I connected the iPod to my computer, it would show up as a USB device in the Windows device manager, but if I tried to open it in Explorer I could see no folders. iTunes could see it, but it would insist that it was not compatible with Windows and that I needed to restore it. When I tried to restore it, I'd always get an "unknown error" error message. It was impossible to connect to it or restore it!
Finally, I figured out what the problem was. It was my HP PhotoSmart C4280 "all in one" printer! As soon as I disconnected that thing from its USB port the iPod suddenly was fully recognized by iTunes and I could sync it again. Furthermore, the syncing process was about 10 times faster! It was a miracle!
I believe the issue had something to do with the on-board memory card readers on the printer. Those show up as a letter drive under Windows, whether you have a card in them or not. I believe the HP USB driver was somehow interfering with the Apple USB driver, but that's just a theory.
Even with the iPod working, I still had a problem because the printer could not be connected at the same time as the iPod. I managed to fix that problem too (I think). I went to the HP support site and downloaded the latest printer driver software. Now both the printer and the iPod seem to coexist peacefully. I may not be completely out of the woods, but right now it looks promising.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little success story with you in case there was someone else out there having the same problem.

You might find the HP doesn't just interfere with your iPod. I have an Epson all-in-one photo printer/scanner/copier with card reader that interferes with EVERY other external drive I connect. I tried my best with Epson support but got nowhere. Problem occurs in both Vista & XP, with at least 3 memory keys, 2 500gb external drives & the iPod. If I turn the printer on, all access to other USB drives is disrupted. Sometimes I can view the top level folders (cached?) but they appear to have no content - scared myself a few times at first. It's a bore but there seeems little I can do until Epson acknowlege the problem & issue new drivers.

  • Itunes Connection Problem

I was given an ipod Nano for Christmas. I have Windows XP and AOL. In attempting to set up the Nano, I have had absolutely nothing but problems. First it synched up all the music that was on my computer, music from a work project, so now it is full of stuff that I don't want and will have to delete. Then - and this is the major problem, while trying to connect to iTunes, I repeatedly got the message: "We could not complete your iTunes store Request. The Network Connection could not be made. There was an error with iTunes store. Please try again later. OK" I spent hours following the Troubleshooting instructions on the iTunes and Apple sites. I then contacted Support, which gave me all the same instructions and then told me that if none of them worked, which they did not, I should come here and ask my question. So here I am, with a new Nano that can't access iTunes.
I also had difficulty getting it to eject when I tried to disconnect it from the computer and now, it won't light up. But I suppose those are different problems to be dealt with after this first major one.

YES!!! I have that EXACT problem too. I have run the diagnostics and been told everything was successful, the network connected fine. But yet I still cannot connect to the Store?! It's only since doing an upgrade of Itunes and prior to that everything connected fine for me and I was able to purchase songs, etc.
I have also tried writing to the Support, but they told me to run Diagnostics (which I had done already) and check the Q&A section (also done, prior to writing to them) and check here. Well, checking here I see that there's someone with the same problem, but no solution. So now I feel less alone in my problem, but just as frustrated that there's no answer???

  • Sudden problem with iTunes quitting - problem and solution

This is a fairly lengthy diatribe but it was driving me nuts and so hopefully will help someone else:
    The Problem:
I have an XPS M1710 running Windows Vista. A couple of days ago all Apple programs started to malfunction, specifically iTunes, QuickTime. When I try to start iTunes it quits immediately and I get the message “A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available”. The same thing happens with Quicktime. When I go to Internet Explorer this works fine until I go to the Apple website and try to Download iTunes (to reinstall) or even to go to the Apple Support page, Then the Apple site seems to “force” IE to quit. The same thing happens when I use the Apple Safari Browser (works generally but quits on Apple iTunes or support site). I am not sure if it is relevant but we bought some iTunes songs online in the last couple of days using another laptop. That machine is still working fine as are two other laptops in the house re iTunes (they are Windows XP Dells, my machine is Windows Vista). I received an email receipt on my XPS for the purchases in the usual fashion. I can open it, but when I click the links to the iTunes site it doesn’t work (does work using other computers).
I have performed 2 system restores (to 2 and 4 weeks ago – long before the current problem) but this did not help. I have uninstalled iTunes – but even so still could not directly download the iTunes setup.exe from Apple. I did eventually get it from a third party link. Using the downloaded file I reinstalled iTunes but exactly the same problems persist. On one occasion I let the “A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available” dialogue box sit for a while – the system identified some Apple updates needed which I downloaded and installed (in fact I had done these probably a week or so ago anyway but the system restore would have reverted that). This still did not fix the problem.
Today I phoned XPS support. I was initially told to leave my number and someone would call me back. 2 hours later no-one had so I phoned again and got someone who suggested doing a full scan disk (ie by getting into diagnostics at startup by pressing F12). I did this – no problems found. The person had also suggested trying to access iTunes using a different logon account. I switch on “guest” account and tried from there but the same problem persisted.
I have checked Windows Defender and Windows Firewall and as far as I can see iTunes is allowed to access the internet. No sign that it is deliberately blocked. As far as I can tell from the Windows updater the system is up to date (as it was when the problem first happened, and not fixed by rolling back many updates via the system restores).
I have run a full Virus check using Kaspersky (with latest updated database) and nothing was found.
So, no matter what I try, my computer is suddenly blocking everything to do with iTunes (and Quicktime), including Apple’s own support site. The failure of iTunes or QuickTime to launch happens whether or not I am connected to the Internet at the time. All other programs seem to be working.
I would be very appreciative if you could help. I have been unable to find any online solution, although one person may have had a similar problem, no resolution was evident.
    The solution:
I have only just now solved the problem (two weeks down the track). The Dell technician that I spoke to over the phone tried hard but we could not get the issue solved completely, although the problem with accessing the iTunes website we did solve by turning off some internet explorer add-ons. As it turned out the problem was with QuickTime. The clue was that although I had attempted to uninstall iTunes + Quicktime many times the QuickTime component never disappeared. So when I reinstalled iTunes + QuickTime (which I did many times) the problem remained. After again uninstalling iTunes + QuickTime (by going to control panel, selecting iTunes and uninstall, then QuickTime and unintstall in the usual way, and realising that QuickTime did not uninstall properly, I then selected QuickTime and chose the "repair" option at the top of the control panel dialogue box instead of uninstall. After that I was then able to open QuickTime properly, and then when I reinstalled iTunes it worked! This had been driving me nuts, and I was on the verge of re-installing the operating system. Can I suggest that you enter this solution into your database for future reference.

I was wondering if you ever fixed this problem? Today I went to open itunes and it started installing it and said it couldn't access the file ja.lproj/ea0423.rtf which would be the Japanese language version. I just wanted to know if I should do what was suggested to you or if that didn't work.

  • ITunes connection problem, please help

    Dear Apple-forum members,
Yesterday I tried to sync my iPhone 4 with iTunes (Windows 7 64-bit). When it was at step 3, Windows gave me the message that iTunes did not respond, and shuts it down. While this happened, my iPhone was still in the sync mode but didn't do anything, so I cancelled it.
When I tried to sync again, I got error 0xe8000065. After a restart, iTunes doesn't even know that the iPhones was connected, although my phone WAS showed inside 'My Computer' (so my computer DOES recognise my iPhone).
I deleted the adapter, and reinstalled it again. Same issue.
I connected my iPhone with another computer, and reconnected it with my own computer. Now I get another error 0xe8000001.
I deleted and reinstalled iTunes, set iTunes as 'administrator', but also the same issue.
    Anyone having the same problem.
    How can I solve this?
    I use:
    Latest iTunes version 64-bits
    Windows 7 64-bits
iPhone 4 iOS 4.3 (not jailbreaked)

You need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then connect it to your new computer and restore it via iTunes. Note that you will lose all content on the iPod. You can redownload apps at no additional cost provided you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.

  • Synching iPad With iTunes Apparent Problem

Lately every time I use iTunes on my laptop to synch my apps with my iPad iTunes says that there is less apps on my iPad than there really is. Also it shows that my iPad has more space available than it says I have in settings under "usage" on the iPad. If I choose to remove the apps on the iPad through iTunes instead of manually doing so on the iPad iTunes shows less apps on the iPad through the bar that shows the total amount of space on the iPad and space that is used and by what.
I have noticed this going on for months so I am always removing the apps I want to remove from the iPad manually instead of through iTunes. This way I am not losing any apps that I do want on my iPad and my iPad is remaining the way I want it too. Through this method, I am not noticing any changes through iTunes with the bar that depicts the amount of used and unused space on the iPad, even the correct number of apps on the iPad is correct.
    (A) Important Information Regarding the iPad, iPod Touch 4th Generation & iTunes:
    1. My iPad is an iPad 4th Generation (or iPad with Retina Display)
    2. It is running Software Version: iOS 6.1.3
    3. I will not update to iOS 7 (iOS 7.0.4) because I totally hate and dislike iOS 7 and everything about it, I prefer iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.5 that is on my iPod Touch 4th Generation that is also not able to be upgraded to iOS 7 anyways because iOS 7 isn't supported on it so my intentions are to keep my iPod and my iPad running the iOS 6 operating system. (Because of this, it would be wonderful to get rid of the annoying 1 on the "Settings" app icon notifying about the iOS 7 Update that I have already said I don't want.)
    4. Regarding updating apps, not wanting iOS 7 and Apple Devices that can't support iOS 7 (such as the iPod Touch 4th Generations) because many of the app updates that were supported on these earlier devices are saying: "Download the last compatible version? The newer version requires iOS 7 or later." This is truly unacceptable behavior for apps because everyone deserves the right to have the current versions of the apps, especially since some of them had to be paid for with valuable hard earned money. Thus all apps should automatically be compatible with all versions of the software the earlier devices are compatible with (meaning that they can't support iOS 7).
I am suggesting this because this could be the possible reason why the apps through iTunes and the iPad are saying there are less than there really is on my iPad.
    (B) Regarding iTunes & Synching With The iPad:
    1. My iTunes Software Version is the latest, iTunes Version 11.1.3
    2. iTunes with the apps I want to remove still on the iPad (6 total to remove) says that I have 94 apps installed with 8.82GB of free space available. The total amount of GB of space used by the installed apps is: 11.03GB.
    3. Removing the 6 apps I want to remove on the iPad through iTunes says that I now only have 80 apps on my iPad after removing them through iTunes and now have a total of 16.01GB of free space available. The total amount of GB of space used by the installed apps is: 3.84GB all of a sudden when only 6 apps were removed supposedly.
    4. Of course I decided not to allow these changes to take affect on the iPad and intend to remove a total of 6 apps manually, so instead of clicking "Apply" in iTunes I've clicked "Done"  and then when asked: "Would you like to apply these changes?" I clicked "Don't Apply" and manually removed the 6 apps after disconnecting the iPad from my laptop.
    (C) After Removing The Apps Manually From The iPad & Re-Synching With iTunes:
    1. With the 6 apps manually removed, iTunes now says that I have 88 apps installed on my iPad. (94-6=88)
    2. The total amount of free space on my iPad according to iTunes is 8.91GB of free space available. This matches what my iPad says under "Usage" in the General Tab under "Settings".
    3. The total amount of GB space being used by all the apps now currently on my iPad are: 10.91GB.
Now as I was saying earlier about iTunes and synching apps with my iPad saying I have more space  and less apps installed than it really does has officially been proven with the three sections (A-C) of information above. Now I like to know why this is accruing and how can it be corrected so both iTunes and the iPad are showing the correct information when synced?
ALSO NOTE: If anyone tries to tell me or suggest I should install iOS 7, don't bother saying it because I will not upgrade to iOS 7 ever because as I've said I don't like it and in my opinion it looks un-appealing and uninteresting and at the same time I want both my iPod Touch 4th Generation and my iPad 4th Generation (iPad with Retina Display) using the same iOS operating system, as in iOS 6.

That would have been good to include with your original post so I didn't waste my time and yours providing an option that you have already tried with no success.
If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup - your iPhone is unable to connect with any wi-fi network, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • AirPlay with AirServer connectivity problem

Updated to IOS 7 and now I am having mirroring issues with AirServer. I have been using AirServer for approximately 6 weeks teaching in a 7th grade Math classroom. I connect and disconnect multiple times per class period and never had a problem until I updated my iPad to IOS 7 last week. Now, after 3 or 4 connect/disconnects, the next time I attempt to connect, it will not mirror the iPad. I have to hard reset the iPad to get it to work again. The iPad appears to be connected but everything on the iPad slows down considerably and AirPlay does not start on the computer. I reproduced the same exact problem on an iPad Mini that also has been updated to IOS 7. Also, I have the latest version of AirServer on the computer. I had absolutely no connectivity problems prior to upgrading to IOS 7. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This is an iOS 7 AirPlay mirroring bug.
Exact same results when using an Apple TV instead of AirServer.
To make matters worse, the iPad automatically drops its mirroring session 45 seconds after it auto-locks.
3-4 mirroring sessions is all it takes for the iPad mirroring to freeze up.
After this happens, mirroring to an Apple TV only projects a blank screen.
Once the mirroring is hung, the only way to fix it is to restart the iPad.
Apple please fix this iOS 7 issue!

  • Itunes Connect problems

I few days ago I created an ibook using ibook author, then I published creating an Apple ID with paid permission. Now I want to create a new ibook but with a different Apple ID and with different email account but Itunes Connect does not give me access.

    Jeff Hendrickson wrote:
Update: I tried using a .jpg, 320 x 480, 72ppi, and no go. Still the broken chain symbol.
I just tested and it worked ok with a 320 x 480 .jpg file.
When uploaded image is rejected, there should also be a text explanation...in red, across the top...example:
The screenshot test.jpg is the wrong size. Screenshots must be 320x480, 480x320, 460x320 or 480x300 pixels.
I believe it will give that same message when the size is correct but the suffix/file type is wrong.
As well, you need to rename when pushing a revised image...if it has rejected an image once, that name is temporarily blacklisted and it will reject it again, even if you mod the dimensions... Change the name, correct the H/W, save it as a .jpg, then reup - there is no problem on the back end - it will go smoothly once you get your images correctly sized and uniquely named.
What browser/platform are you using to upload? I don't see a broken chain....and this is with the new ITC interface as well.

  • Publishing a folio with itunes connect

Hello, I've created a folio in indesign, i've joined the iOS developer program, payed the fee, i've also signed for the adobe creative cloud with a monthly subscription... As i thought that would be enough to publish my free book.
Then i've created an app using the app builder, went through the http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf   right up to the page 59, and then i've wanted to publish my work, and opened itunes connect, but there weren't a "Manage your apps" button, as it was shown in the step by step guide, instead of this button there is a "Mange your books" button (it's there probaly because i had signed  for the free book account back in the time)
On the other hand when i go to the folio produser, i also can't publish my folio.. because there is only "private" status aviable, not the "public" one..
What could i have done wrong? And how can i publish my folio in this case?

Well, i've payed for the Apple Developer account, and i've created an app.
I guess, that the problem is that i used the same apple id for the developer account and for the books account.. So now i'm trying to sort that out.

  • Can someone help with a connection problem?

I have a DroidX2 and have noticed that the phone routinely switches from 3G to 1X, especially in certain rooms in the house..
This is consistant and usually the signal is only two bars.
Whenever I try to watch a Youtube video it will play for maybe 12 seconds and then I will have to play with the settings in Youtube to download more of the video. Maybe 1 out of 50 times the video plays straight through without stopping. Most of the time the screen will show 1X instead of 3G. Could it be my phone settings, phone coverage or Youtube causing the problem? I sometimes have dropped calls as well. I have the most current software and Youtube was recently updated. I am also receiving "cannot establish a connection" messages on Youtube. Can someone please help? Thank you.

Lorenzo1950, thanks for posting! Are you still having issues with your connections? What is your zip code? How long has this been an issue? Does this issue with streaming video only happen at home or everywhere?^SP

To register on iTunes Connect, I require a URL? What does this mean?

Apple consider you should have a "support" contact. Just use a Facebook account. Better to open a new account if you have your own also.
The alternatives are to search for free webs a d use their template to create your page, or pay a web builder.
Facebook is free and easy to manage!
