Allocate a profile to an installation

Hello together,
I want so allocate a profile to an installation.
SLP profile header with all information is created.
The next step would be to assign the profile to the installation using the transaction ES31 to change the settings of the installtion. But the button "Profile" on installation-change level is not existing.
Now my question is:
did I forgett some setting during edm customizing or did I do a mistake when setting up the installtion ?
I'd really appreciate help solving this issue.

Remembered I had this problem as well, see note 1695774:
Cause
The customizing settings for authorization object E_INSTLN3 are incorrectly set.
Resolution
To resolve this issue you need to provide the corresponding user the full authorization for authorization object E_INSTLN3.
Execute Transaction PFCG to Create or Change the role assigned to the user.
Add authorization object E_INSTLN3 to role via the authorizations tab. Select the tab.
Click on "Change Authorization Data" button.
Click on Manually button.
Enter Authorization object E_INSTLN3.
Click on + to expand the tree.
Give the * value to all fields in the role by clicking on the *. See image below for example.
Save the role and generate it (shift F5).
Add role to the user account in SU01 or users tab in PFCG of the role view.

I would like to try to explain how to create an authorization profile.
1. you have to create a user with the Tcode SU01 at first
2. run Tcode /nPFCG.
3. enter a name for the role (naming convention is here very important) which you want to create and then click on "create Role".
4. enter a short description for the role and then click on Authorization tab.
5. now you are required to save the role. Click on it and continue.
6. click on the tab "change authorization data" and select the authorization template what you need.
7.change the authorization field value.
8.click on button "Generate".
9.click on button Back
10. click on Tab user to assign the role to the user which you created in step one
11.click on button User comparison and then complete comparison

I have set up release procedures using a how to doc which was posted an sap123.com. It doesnt go through how to do this, only gives a screen shot. The SAP environment is a test environment for training. We have maybe 4 users existing in system. I would like to know how to first create a user, then go through PFCG and create and allocate authorization profiles. They need to be able to approve PR's/ PO's using the two release codes and release groups I have set up. The steps I followed are posted here: http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=59.

Thanks. I do have authorization to create users/ roles & such. I have created 3 specifically to test the workflow I am trying to set up that contains release procedures.
In PFCG - I created a new role MATMGT. On the Menu tab, Assign Transactions screen, could someone please tell me what the Transaction Code would be so that, when I goto the Authorizations tab and click on the Change Authorization Data button, I get a "Materials Management: Purchasing" row displayed in the Change Role: Authorizations screen. I am following http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=59 - and am stuck at the "Create and allocate authorisation profiles" section, as there are no steps detailing the usage of PFCG.

Hi all, sorry that my first post is such a sucky subject
anyway...........
Had option 3 installed on 22nd May and initially understood and respected the 'stabilisation period' thingy
however since installation I have never had any speed above 2mbps.
Obviously ive tried helpdesk etc numerous times.
And despite personal assurances and promises, the problem still exists.
Basically bt speedtests show that my line is more than capable of 7+ mbps (only approx 400m from exchange)
but my IP Profile is 2mbps
its been 'reset' numerous times (although I have never seen any changes)
I have contacted technical at least 5 times since installation regarding this but the result is always the same ....tests......promises.......wait a week for 'stabalization'.........no change.
Some screenies.....
Seems to be a huge number of events/errors.
Im at a loss because nothing that anyone does seems to fix or even slightly improve the issue.
Please any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

your profile is stuck at 2mb and as you have 3+ days conenction time showing a stable line you need to contact the mods to get it kicked into action your profile should be 7.15mb not 2mb

Cannot move old profile to new installation

I need to move my FF profile to a new FF installation on a new PC, but I cannot get the profile to "stick".
I have tried copying the old profile's files into the new default folder and changing the .ini file's default to match, but it isn't working. I tried deleting the new default profile and inserting the old one, but the new default profile folder recreates itself. Where is FF storing the new default profile number and how can I change it?
I know it is possible to move an existing profile to a new FF installation as i have done it before, but I just cannot get it to work this time. What am I doing wrong?

Provisioning Profile - problems with installation our app build on devices

We have problems with installation our app build on few devices. There are all in Provisioning Profile, but we don't know why we can't install the build on some devices. Any ideas?

Apple products needing Apple love/support (athough using Adobe to compile to Apple-code may be an obvious concern since nothing beats native-code)
The app still however requires code-signing in the correct manner - personally, the more the merrier.

Hello,
You allocate the profile to a register so you want to have your logical register number.
If you have the equipment number you could go to table ETDZ or call FM ISU_DB_ETDZ_SELECT and fetch the registers.
If you want to see the table of profile allocations you can check table EPROFASS.
If you use IS-U-EDM the tables which contains informations about profile values are EPROFVAL*...

Function module to create formula profile : Device Management/ EDM

Hi experts!
We create Formula profile against register 2 of the bi-directional device using transaction EEDM06.
We create profile header by using function module "ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE" but this function module doesn't have input parameter that need to passed specifically creating Formula profile like-
Formula Prof. Calc = ZNET (fixed)
Status Group = (i.e., value valid, est man, changed/entered, from date) fixed
Profile = Profile1 as allocated to RG-002. (always)
After saving this Formula profile header, allocate the profile to Device is also couldn't be done using function module ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE .
Please help me is there specific function module to create Formula profile. If you need any clarification, please suggest.

you could also create a master data template in EPRODCUST for MD Template Category INSTALLATION & EDM_PROFHEAD if you need to create the profile header.
We've wrapped some in function module interfaces for easy automation.
ISU_S_LPASSLIST_MAINTAIN is an internal function, so I dont recommend building anything on it.

How to use 1 profile on server for multiple PCs

Is it possible to move an existing profile (at all!) to a home server and configure it as the default - if not only - profile on other installations on other PCs, thus avoiding sync-related plug-ins?

Status Profile Issue

Dear all,
I have a doubt in status profile setting that, if i have 5 approal levels at SO level. 1 is created, 2.Need modifications, 3.asst manger app, 4..manager, 5.Final approved.
In this at level 1 we can make changes in SO. but SO is updted to level 3 system should not allow to change SO in VA02 and same situation for level 4 and 5 also. If in the level 2 system should allow changes in the SO.
How can make settings for my requirement. Kindly help me to solve my issue.

Please go through the path for config or settings of status
IMG --> Sales --> Sales Documents --> Define and Status Profile You can
1. Define status profile Tcode BS02
2. Assign it to sales document type
3. Allocate status profile to item categories too.
Please take the help of BASIS consultant it will be much easier while defining status profile.

Error--Could not import profiles

I have installed a distributed instance installation.
While i was installing the Central instance i gave the profile path as
\<server_name>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile
Now after installation when i go to Rz10 and import profiles , i could not import the instance profiles
It is giving a message that "Cound not be read"
Please let me how of how to import that profile or how to change the path to local system

Check if there are some old profiles in you directory. Try to move them into some other folder and then with the clean directory only with the relevant profiles try to import it.
Secondly you check that if there is any junk character in the profile?

Camera profiles and Untwisted Adobe Camera Profiles

If memory serves me correctly, mention was made a while ago about the Recovery slider within LR - basically how bad it was. Um? At this time, again if memory serves me correctly, someone mentioned something about 'Untwisted Profiles'.
Anyway, following a link from another forum I ended up here http://thomaslesterphotography.com/photography/untwisted-adobe-camera-profiles/ and thought I might just give it a go. However, I am unable to locate the folder in which Lightroom stores it's camera profiles. If I follow the route (in Windows), Documents and Settings, User, Application Data, Adobe, Camera Raw, Camera Profiles I only find a index.dat file which obviously isn't the correct place.
Could some kind soul kindly point me in the direction of where these Untwisted Profiles should be placed (Windows)? Curiosity is getting the better of me and I really want to (a) see what all the fuss is about (b) is it justified and (c) do these Untwisted Profiles really make a difference. Nothing ventured nothing gained eh`? lol

About the installation:
Thomas refers to “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera”, which is where LR (and ACR) stores its delivered profiles. You can put the untwisted profiles there, under your camera folder.
But, if you want to keep them separate (which I prefer), you can also put them into the user specific folder (this is also where LR puts its presets). In this case, create a folder Camera in “C:\Documents and Settings\your-user\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles” (this is where you found the file index.dat) and copy the entire folder for your camera from the ZIP file into that Camera folder.
In both cases, you'll be able to see the new profiles in the Develop Module.

P.S: These folder locations refer to WinXP. To find out your local presets folder for your OS, use Preferences / Presets / Show Lightroom Presets Folder.

Camera Profiles..... where are they?

I have installed ACR 5.2 and run the .exe program to install the camera profiles. The installer put the profiles in C: program data folder under camera raw, I assume this is where they belong? Anyway, when I click on the camera calibration and try to select a profile, the list is limited to 3.3, 3.4, Adobe Standard and Camera Landscape; portrait; etc... no listing of the individual cameras and their profiles. Am I to assume that ACR is so smart that it knows which camera profile to apply based on what is listed in the picture's metadata? Thanks for your help.

On the camera calibration tab, you only see the profiles applicable to the particular file you have opened in ACR at that time. The profiles are camera-model specific.

CS4 Design Premium installation failure on Win-7

I have tried this installation a number of times now and continually get a problem with kb403891r2 error regarding the UninstallColorProfilesRollback preventing the installation.
I have tried both solutions I was taken to by the Adobe Support advisor regarding manually removing the files and setting the permissions in the registry.
I have also tried changing the permissions on the relevent folders as per the information found on these discussion pages, still to no avail.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on an Intel i7 system.
Hope you can help as I am about to lose what little hair I have left!

Thank you so much, this gave me the clue I needed. The problem was based on my using multiple monitors, one of which is connected to an HDMI connection with obviously a separate colour profile.
Restarting the computer with only the VGA connected monitor active allowed me to remove all of the colour profiles and the installation subsequently went without a hitch.

Tiger 10.4.3 Installer Cannot Find Destination Drive

I am trying to upgrade[finally] from 10.2.8 to 10.4.3 using the installer disc, but it cannot find my hard drive for it to install. I have run a repair[ Disk & Permissions] using Disk Utility, everythings fine. Have run an Apple Hardware check and again eveything fine. Through System Preferences/Startup Disk It sees my disc no problem and everything is running smoothly and quickly, so I'm a bit worried why the installer disc is unable to see my hard drive.
Any help with this would be much appreciated, Sorry if this query has been answered elsewhere, I had a good look before I added this entry and couldn't find an answer.

Power Mac G4 Quicksilver[Mirrored Drive Doors] Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Had a go but the DVD's Disk Utility simply couldn't see my hard drive went on the System Profiler off the installer disc and again the only disc it could see was the DVD itself, No other ATA drive or Serial ATA drive. Rebooted the computer as normal and the system profiler saw the hard drive with no problem. I unplugged all peripheral hardware like DVD Burner, Scanner and Printer, and my Firmware is all up to date as your checklist suggested too.
Was wondering, my hard drive has it's jumper set to "Enable cable select", When starting from the Installer disc does that cause a conflict about which disc is master and results in the disc not being seen?
(Sorry if this is a silly suggestion, it doesn't take long for this technical stuff to baffle me, as you can tell)
