Allocation error - Unable to communicate with the server
Hello experts,
I am trying to run a simple allocation scenario in NW 7.5 sp3 version.
Script logic:
*RUNALLOCATION
*FACTOR USING/TOTAL
*DIM P_ACCT1 WHAT= CE0004010; WHERE=BAS(CE0004000); USING=CE0004030; TOTAL=<<<
*DIM P_CC WHAT= US; WHERE=<<<; USING=<<<; TOTAL=<<<
*DIM CATEGORY WHAT=ACTUAL; WHERE=PLAN
*ENDALLOCATION
The script logic runs from default.lgf and i get an error while i try to send data from BPC excel saying "Error communicating with the server"
I have also tried running it through Allocation.lgf and the financial package. I get the following message but no results.
/CPMB/MODIFY completed in 0 seconds
/CPMB/CLEAR completed in 0 seconds
[Messages]
Error found in BPC
Application: Finance_1 Package status: SUCCESS
Please help me out here.
Your inputs highly appreciated.
Thanks
Mani
It was but it shouldn't affect Sync users.
I will ask you to try again in a couple of hours. Are you trying to set it up or access your data?

Custom Item updating throws Unable to Communicate with the server Error.
Hi Team,
I am trying to Implement Form based authentication in SharePoint 2013. When trying to update membership list (A Custom List) item it throws "Unable to Communicate with the Server" error. As shown in below image.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance.Hi Murali,
I'm having a similiar problem with one of my customers. We haven't been able to resolve it but we have found a way around it, I'd like to do more testing but my customer justs wants to get on with it now that we have a workaround. Logging a call with Microsoft
can be expensive, most businesses have a finite amount of support hours so you really have to do your homework before you starting chewing those hours up.
Problem Description:
Customer created a custom list with two calculated columns and various choice, string and multi-string columns. Customer was attempting to copy and paste 128 rows of data into each column from a spreadsheet. The first (title) column successfully pasted
128 values.
Subsequent columns would paste the values but not allow the values to be committed as every row displayed the "Unable to Communicate with the Server" message, preventing the list from being saved.
Workaround:
The problem appears to be related to the number of items the customer is trying to paste during each operation and the relationship this has with the calculated columns. We found that when we pasted 70 or less items in one operation we did not receive the
error. I attempted pasting 128 rows of data into a seperate list with the same columns excluding the calculated columns, and was successfully able to paste all 128 rows.
For the problem list I suggested to the customer to copy the formula's from the calculated columns, delete these columns and then trying pasting again, he didn't like the idea as he's happy to paste in 50% chunks. Based on the fact I was able to paste
without any problems on a list without calculated columns I would suggest it's related.
So my questions for you are:
Are you trying to paste/add multiple values at once?
Do you have any special column types, i.e. calculated or lookup columns?
What columns do you have in your list?
Have you tried adding the entries in using form entry instead of grid entry?
Unforunately I don't know how generic this error message is, there is absolutely nothing in my ULS logs or event viewer. If this error is specific to submitting data to a list in grid view it would make it easier to diagnose, but if the error is generic
in nature your problem could be as obscure as the FBA configuration.
I hope this information helps you, I will try and do some more testing. -
I am using ipad mini ... I was unable to access facebook since long time... Its shows error could not communicate with the server.... I had install it but result was same. Can anyone help me???
first off , from the wired computer access the router using http://192.168.1.1 .. check the firmware version .. go to www.linksys.com/download and check the latest firmware available...if the router does not have the latest firmware , upgrade it first. .. after the firmware upgrade , reset and reconfigure the router
if the router has the latest firmware , then reset the router for 30 seconds .. do a power cycle...access the router ui ..default password is admin..click on the "mac add clone" subtab , enable it and click clone....save the settings and do a power cycle..ensure that the wired computer is online
on the router web ui , click on the wireless tab ..change the ssid - any non-linksys name , channel - 11 , security mode - wpa , beacon interval - 50 , fragmentation threshold - 2306 , RTS threshold - 2307 ..

Error: Unable to communicate with the Reports Server
The configuration I am working with is:
* Oracle 8.1.6 DB on a Unix machine
* Oracle Reports 6i on an NT machine
* Microsoft IIS web server
I have successfully tested my reports during the development phase of my project. Unfortunately, now that it is considered production and is available to upwards of 30 people, I am getting the following error message after verifying the server is up and after a numerous reports have been served:
Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time.
Oracle Reports Server CGI - Unable to communicate with the Reports Server.
After receiving this message I noticed that the Report Server service is down and the log only indicates that it "shut down immediately". (no ORA messages) I tried restarting the service, but after serving one report, it would shut down again with the same message.
I am wondering if it is a problem related to the cache. I used the default of 50M in the config file, but when the cache directory reaches 50M, the problem seems to appear. I then deleted approx. 30M of files from the cache directory and the Report Server service appeared stable. I changed the cache limit to 1M to see if there was a problem with the cache being so big. All appeared well for the first few hours of operation but then the Report Server service shut down again and upon restart crashed within a minute or two (usually as someone tests a report, it crashes again).
Do I have a configuration problem? Has anyone seen this problem? Thanks in advance.Hi,
I just found out that if i give
http://localhost/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?key1
where key1 is a key mapping file that contains the report name, username and pwd for the database and desformat...etc..
the report pulls out fine with the correct data..
i am stunned...
while none of the other commands like
http://.../rwcgi60.exe
or
http://..../showenv?server=repserver
or any other usual command doesnt work...
anybody faced this before??
Thanks. -

HPlip: "Unable to communicate with the device" error
Hello Arch Community, I've been a user of Arch for a while and most of it just worked out of the box. However, I had my HP 6300 working through a direct connection. But a couple of days ago it just broke.
I've tried everything I could think of to make it back but all has been unsuccesful, I removed the printer and tried to add it again (sorry, old Windows habit, there most of the time works), however, I couldn't add the printer, it fails with the error: "Unable to communicate with the device. Please check the device and try again.", I added myself to the ld group (shouldn't matter, but I did it anyway)
I have cups 1.4.2.

Done.
Albeit it has errors, I can't see how they are releated (cups does have a conf file, but it seems that *my* user can't access it, expected 'couse it's owned by root). Any ideas?Hi
I had the same problem. The solution is to change the network discovery mode to SLP or add manually the IP address of your printer at the first step of the hp setup wizard. After you install the printer successfully, check the maximum resolution of the driver. Mysteriously, for me the maximum resolution was restricted to 600 dpi so I downgraded to the previous version of HPLIP and got back the 1200 dpi option. Please let me know if you have this issue too. I have posted this question in the hplip forums, but I haven't received any replies yet. -
Fax from PC: unable to communicate with the device.
Hi,
Im facing this issue where i am unable to send fax through my PC.
Some info:
Device: laserjet CM1415fnw
IP address for laserjet: 192.168.1.250
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.254
OS: winvista
antivirus: using AVG free edition 2012
both my print drivers and fax drivers are using the same network port which i set manually by creating a tcp/ip port (192.168.1.250).
I am able to communicate with printer to print, scan but not fax.
When i chose the fax driver to print to, it will send the job, and then display the error:
Unable to communicate with the device.
The device may be disconnected, powered off, or its network settings may have changed.
I tried to install using the drivers downloaded from HP and it created a "HP Fax Port" which i tried changing the port to use this instead, still same error.
A command ping to the ip 192.168.1.250 is getting response.
Anyone have any idea? Or could the AV blocking the drivers from communicating to the printer?Hi AWI,
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues faxing. I would like some more information from you so I can look further into this issue for you.
Could you respond to me with this info:
Are you able to fax from your printer, stand-alone?
What model of printer do you have?
Are you running Windows or Mac?
Have you printed a Fax Test? If yes, does it pass or fail on anything?
Look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Experts !
I am getting below error while trying to login in jabber through expressway . Please help me to fix this issue
Attached is the file .
(Error:Cannot communicate with the server)
Regards;
KVOk, let's clarify, what u have (correct me, where I am wrong):
1. We assume,that outside server's config is okay (there are only collab_edge srv for outside domain);
2. Traversal Zone is up (everything is okay with certs, IM&P nodes,CM are added);
3. Both domains (inside/outisde) are created on E/C and properly configured;
4.Inside DNS server has has srv records (cuplogin,cisco-uds) for both domains:outside,inside;
If yes, then you need to reset jabber, make "ipconfig /flashdns" on client, flash dns on E/C.
Start logging with packet captures and tries to login. After that, start checking from packet captures: client, E/C. Try to search for DNS lookups, if evry node tries to find appropriate server (client->E, C->IM&P) .

myesa_2.local> updateconfig
Service (images): Update URL:
<ommitted for brevity>
[]> dynamichost
Enter new manifest hostname : port
[update-manifests.sco.cisco.com:443]>
Once 'dynamichost' is entered, the current dynamic host in use will be displayed in the prompt [ ]>, as seen above.
You will need to verify that the appliance - escpecially if a virtual (VESA) - is using the correct host.

Hi,
Previously I've two exchange server 2013 named : ABC and XYZ. After is decomm XYZ, i got this error :
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer XYZ using any of the configured protocols; requested by PID 7b28 (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\MSExchangeHMWorker.exe).
EventID:10028

May I know the reason why the server keep looking for the non-exist server and how to terminate this process?
Thanks in advance.Hello,
It seems that error message occurs on the same machine with the previous Exchange Server you have decommissioned. Have you reinstall the Windows System after uninstall the Exchange
Server?
You need to check the registry keys but this is not efficient solution. The most efficient way is to reinstall the Windows if it is convenient.
Thanks,

A network error occurred while trying to communicate with the server.
Hello All,
I am getting some new error messages when opening the server app on my Mac Mini server running OS X 10.8.2 and Server 2.2.1. First I get a message that says "A network error occurred while trying to communicate with the server." and then after trying to open some of the service panes, I get additional errors that say "Multiple errors occurred on the server while processing commands." The services don't load and I just see "Error Reading Settings" in the server app.
I started to get these errors when I added a new website to the server. All the services are working fine but I cannot access them in the server app.
In console I'm seeing these errors when I try to access various services:
2/24/13 8:02:12.692 PM Server[956]: Error: The server '10.0.1.150' reported an error while processing a command of type: 'readSettings' in plug-in: 'servermgr_dns'. I have already restarted the server and used terminal to stop and start postgres. Any more thoughts on how to repair this?Just as I had suspected, the whole GUI crashed because of certificate problems. After two and a half hours with enterprise support, it turns out the com.apple.servermgrd certificate in the server keychain had become corrupt.
We determined this by typing https://127.0.0.1:311 into Safari and we could see all the server modules and interact with them through the web interface. All the services were working properly as well so we knew that it was just the Server.app GUI that simply couldn't read settings that was causing the problem.
So, first we closed the server app. Went into /var/servermgrd and deleted all the files from this folder. Then, in Keychain, deleted the com.apple.servermgrd certificate. Did a search for com.apple.servermgrd in Keychain and deleted everything else that came up for it.
Then restarted the server. Now the server app was able to properly connect to the services in the background and read them properly. This was the jist of the troubleshooting that solved the problem. It also seems like DNS is causing problems because that is the only service that will not read right but is functioning properly in the background.
I will post an update once Apple figures out what is wrong with DNS. Hope this helps anybody else having these problems. -
We are getting the below error when we see in Crawl logs

Anil LokaHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got error when communicating to the server.
This happens when crawler is not able to connect to the server. Make sure server name is correct. Couple of steps to troubleshoot it
You should be able to ping the server from the server having crawl component. Make sure there is an entry for the server in the host file under c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder.
Ping <servername>
2. You should be able to connect to the server using telnet command
Telnet< servername> <port number>
More information:
Troubleshooting of FAST Search Configuration
If the issue still exists, you can delete the old search application and recreate from the beginning.
You can also reset the index and do a full crawl after.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:
