Allow button ? ? ?

Hi.
I have noticed for a long time now that the player pops up that small window with the "Allow" and "Deny" buttons for local storage as an overlay to what is being played or trying to be being played behind the small window box.
However, I am finding it ever increasingly difficult to get the Allow button to accept my mouse click on the button. Sometimes it takes several clicks and on occasions a lot more before it disappears?
Also, the slider for how much to allow to be downloaded / buffered, we have a choice of zero or allow all and increments in between, again I am fed up with having to move the slider to all the way right (Unrestricted) at every window opening of either Firefox or even IE8. Why does your program not intelligently remember that I presses it already just a few seconds ago, but when a web page opens another window I have to go through this hoop jumping exercise all over again?
And, Why do we at every up-date or download from Adobe have to Un-Check the "make Google chrome my default browser" or similar ? Why isn't this option a check to make it so, not have to constantly un-check it ?

Thanks for bumping the post.  I try to answer as much as possible but sometimes I'm just not able to catch up from a weekend or sick days
Have you tried changing the Local Storage settings in your Flash Player control panel to "Allow sites to save information on this computer"?
We have some security code in place (sometimes referred to as clickjacking code) that appears to be interfering with button/control clicks on certain systems.  What OS/browser are you running when this happens?  Is this a retina display mac running bootcamp?
As for the installer and the opt out checkbox, please see this FAQ for details:

The "always allow" button is grayed out in settings regarding cookies, and I can not find where to change the setting.  (Restrictions are not on.)  Do you know where I go to change the setting to allow me to "always allow" cookies?

    Hi lisaarnett111,
If you are having issues turning on Always Allow for cookies in Safari on your iPad, you may want to check to make sure that you don't have Private Browsing enabled, as noted in the following article:
Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Pick the entire drive>Get Info>Make sure you have read&write privledges and, of course, have added yourself. Either that, or pick all the files, and, once again, "Get info." You should be able to do this for a large group, not just file by file.

  • When going to my hometown paper's site I get a dropdown banner that says Firefox has prevented this site from reloading ,but when I click on the allow button you have on the banner nothing happens so why is the button there?

When I go to the local paper's from Elmira,NY and some other sites I get a drop down banner at the top of the page that tell me Firefox has prevented this page from reloading, but when I go to the allow button that you put on the right side of the banner and click on it the banner goes away and then it comes right back. It will come back every time you click allow until I click on the x box. So I want to know why is the allow button there if it does nothing?

Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Advanced and in the General tab, remove the checkmark from "'''Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page'''".
You won't get that dropdown banner anymore afterwards.

  • How do I get rid of the "Allow" button that pops up sometimes even on trusted sites?

The "Allow" button pops up many times while in a trusted site. It is annoying and does not happen on my other computers. If I knew how to get rid of it, I would.

You should update Firefox to the current version 16.0.1 to avoid known security issues. You appear to be using Firefox 14.0.1:
*If you choose, you can download the full current installer here - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Is it the "Allow page to reload or redirect" message?
*To disable that, click Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Advanced, in "General" section, un-check "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Other - You need to check and update your Plugins

  • I don't want to have to click the allow button every 3 seconds uploading video, how do I disable the "firefox prevented the page from reloading" when I've already put the site on my exceptions list?

I begin uploading video to Facebook and a small window opens to show the progress bar but, the video stops uploading about every 5% when a notification comes from the top bar stating: "Firefox prevented the page from reloading" with an Allow button on the right. Regardless of clicking the allow button and putting Facebook in every exception list Firefox options seems to have or even turning pop up blockers off, that dam button keeps coming! How do I prevent or disable this?
I am running windows XP media center edition SP2, and have Firefox v3.6.11

    You're welcome

  • When downloading video to Facebook I get message "Firefox is preventing you from reloading this page" and allow button doesn't do any good.

when I try to download a personal video to Facebook I get the message " Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". I click the allow button which lets it start downloading but it only stays on 3-5 seconds then gives me the message all over again. At this rate it would take an hour to download a one minute video. I also get this message in other programs and I don't have a clue how to stop it. Help me please!!!

Website servers can redirect more than once, so you may not see anything happen and may need to click Allow more than once.
    See:
    * Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • "Allow" button - don't know what to do, because no explanation provided

I don't know what I am allowing, if I click the "Allow" button!
I'm reluctant to click on it blindly, without having some more information about what site is being blocked and will be unblocked if I click on the button.
    Is that good web design???
Is there some offline explanation somewhere?
(I have already sent 2 squawks today to "Firefox Submit Feedback" on this issue.)
Chronic problem, since one of the version-updates 2-3 months ago.
This command button "Allow" appears in a small window above the active Firefox screen and below the toolbars. One issue is that there is no right-click functionality on the button. Only a red x icon for "close this message" appears beside it. The left side of this mini-window has an icon, but it isn't responsive and I can't distinguish the source because its image is too small.
If this is a feature from an add-on, then which one?
I operate with the NoScript addon, and it is up-to-date. I have identified a couple of hundred sites to the Whitelist in NoScript.

The screenshot image doesn't load, so I can't clearly see what you mean.
    Do you mean this?
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • The allow button disappears

When a new tab opens the allow button disappears underneath the toolbar and the page will not open
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://

You need to allow websites to redirect automatically.
To enable this, uncheck [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel the checkbox in Options for "warn me when websites redirect or reload the page"].

  • Lost always allow button in autofill settings for iphone 5

After upgrading to iOS 7.1 on Iphone 5 I lost my Always Allow button in Autofill Settings in Safari.  Any ideas on how to fix this is highly appreciated

seems that Apple removed it without any knowledge of the users - probably pressure from the big websites who objected to it.  only way around is not to put on these small updates like 7.1 from Apple, where they hide the removal of really useful features like this

  • Im trying to log into a website. When I log in, a message appears that the website has been blocked for my safety. Allow button appears but I cant click on it

I type a website address and go to that website. I try to log into website and message appears on top screen that I am blocked out for my safety. An Allow button appears, but when I click on it, I am still not allowed to log into website. How can I be allowed to log into website?

Thank you for responding madperson. No, the message didnt say connection was untrusted, just "blocked for my safety." Allow button quickly appeared/disappeared, I couldnt click on it. This is a webpage in which I am a member & needed to log in my user & password. I deleted my cookies & cache and went to internet options & where you can choose which websites you dont want cookies, I entered website address, clicked OK & then was able to log into website. It was frustrating, but now solved.
Thank you for your help, madperson, appreciate it. Madison2013

  • SWF not allowing button

Recently i made a site intro for a good friend of mine. The
short intro for her basically was a small animation using masking
to make it look like her architect logo was being drawn. after her
name faded in i had the logo turn into a button leading to her main
    site
    on (release) {
    getURL("put your link here","_blank");
was the code i used. when we imported it to dreamweaver and
previewed the site in it, the animation plays fine but after the
button shows, if you click it it says something about it violating
security and will not allow it to open.
    please help

Instead of "_blank", set it to "_self"

  • No yellow bar with "allow" button when attempting suggested A-dopey trash upgrade

several times now after a browser update I've been advised in the update success page to immediately update the A-dopey trash player. Each time I have attempted this feat no yellow bar containing any button labeled "allow" has ever been in evidence and nothing else I've tried which seemed reasonable would enable any such upgrade. Why not quit suggesting this upgrade if the uploader at A-dopey is not compatible with the firefox browser? I really think I have enough frustration in my life, that's why I sought out an alternative to the standard Evil Empire browser.

Thanks TonyE---I haven't tried your suggestion yet but it sounds like one of those solutions that will actually work and I will try that the next time I get that message.
