Allow Drag-and-drop Sorting of Your Music

With playlists, I love how you can drag and drop tracks to rearrange your playlist.
However, I've noticed the only sortings you can have for Your Music (songs) are by the titles (track, artist, time, album, added). For Albums and Artists, the only sortings possible are alphabetical, recently added, or most played. I'd really love to rearrange songs myself so my favorites are always on top.
Spotify should have let users drag and drop to rearrange songs in Your Music (songs) just like we can for regular playlists. This feature should also be extended to songs shown once you select an albums or artist under Your Music.

The remove op the drag and drop an all other ways to simply move tracks up and down in a playlist or between playlist is theworst improvment EVER.You must be able to customize the play order in a playlist. The QUEUE idear is toaly reduclus an very confusing!! Uptil this spring it was easy to set the order tracks played within a play listnow its a total nightmare

I thought itunes 7.6 allows allows drag and drop to iphone

So I was reading a few sites and they stated that itunes 7.6 now allows iphone users to drag and drop movies + music. Basically allows you to manually manage your stuff without having to go through the whole "synch" thing.
But for the life of me i can't figure out how to do this. I have 7.6 but i can't drag or drop anything into my iphone. What am i missing

I must be blind because I see no options section. I opened iTunes on my computer, main iPhone screen, no options section. I tried opening iTunes on my iPhone in case that is what you meant, but I see no options section there either. I know this is probably so simple and I'm being simple minded by not seeing it, but I don't!!! Can any one walk me through it like I'm braindead?

Can I prevent Visio 2010 from allowing drag and drop of swimlanes?

I am having a pesky issue while putting together my cross functional flow charts that I would like to prevent. When I accidentally click and drag a swimlane, it moves. Is there a way to change a flowchart property where it will not allow a user
to drag and drop columns? We have multiple people editing the same flowchart and sometimes people accidentally mess it up by dragging and dropping a swimlane instead of the boxes inside the swimlane.

First, ensure you have the Developer tab enabled. Now select a swimlane, then Developer -> Protection
and check X Position and Y Position.

UNABLE TO DRAG AND DROP SONGS TO ARRANGE MUSIC

OK i have a bit of an issue and so far no-one has been able to help me, in my library i cannot arrange songs, i used to be able to but now...no
when i click on a song and go to drag it, the outer perimeter of the listing highlights in blue and i can't move the song, it's like all the songs are stuck permanatly in the order they are in.....can some one please help me,

As the previous poster has pointed out, if you are trying to drag songs from one position to another, that can only be done in a playlist. You can't do that in the iTunes Library list view, all you can do in there is re-order the songs by clicking at the top of any column. Clicking on the little triangle on the right side of the column header changes the sort direction. Pointing up and the column is sorted in Ascending order (A to Z). Pointing down and the column is sorted in Descending order (Z to A)
If the songs are in a playlist open iTunes then click on the playlist. Click at the top of the number column (extreme left). Click on the song you want to move and drag it to where you want it to be. Make sure neither Shuffle or Repeat are switched on in the playlist, either of those can prevent you reordering tracks.

HT1364 Before I downloaded the latest version of itunes I could drag and drop to store movies, music and tv to an external hard drive. With the new version I can not do this anymore. Any advice.

I have a 5th gen iPod Touch. I have made playlists in iTunes. I need to get them to the iPod. When I had a Classic, it was automatic. You could drag and drop using iTunes music to the playlist in iTunes and it would automatically sync to the Classic.

I have a 5th gen iPoc Touch. In the past, with the Classic, I could drag and drop from my iTunes music to a Classic playlist through iTunes. Now, the playlist I create in iTunes doesn't show on the Touch. I have maybe 29 GB of music on my Touch. I have already created playlists in iTunes that have substantial amounts of songs in each. How can I get those playlists on the Touch without doing a total sync that wipes the iPod? Is there a way to do it?
As well, I am noticing here that my 5th gen iPod doesn't show as a registered device. How do I register it?

I bought a 5th Gen Touch. I use iTunes 12 on two computers. One computer allows me to drag and drop. The other does not.The one that allows it has problems. Any idea as to why I can drag and drop on one and not the other. Both are authorized.

I first connected the Touch to my desktop and it allows me to drag and drop mp3 files from my old Classic, which is backed up to a directory. Unfortunately, that computer has gone down before I got a chance to fill the Touch. I have the files on another computer but when I connect the Touch to it, it doesn't allow me to drag and drop the files. I have iCloud set on both systems and I have manual management check marked. I'm not understanding why it allows drag and drop on one PC and not the other when they are both set the same way. My question? What do I need to do to be able to drag and drop in iTunes 12? I didn't do anything special on the computer that allows it so I am at a loss.

Drag and dropping music, i cant do it any more

i cannot drag and drop any of my music to my phone anymore it comes up with a black circle with a line through it...
can anyone help??
i used to be able to do it fine, it has unclicked the 'manually manage music' box now when i tick it it tells me that i will loss everything on the phone.

i never sync it though, i have always manually managed it.
is the only reason that it comes up with a circle with a line through it because i havent got manually manage music ticked?

Firefox does not allow me to drag and drop files on FTP site anymore. It used to work before.

Hi. I have a Linux FTP server at a client's office. They used to use IE and I moved them to firefox. They could at one stage, drag and drop (upload) files and documents using only firefox and not a third party software. Somehow this stop working. Is there any setting in firefox that can be changed in order to allow drag and drop without using a third party software? This client is very fussy and does not want to use third party software, as the drag and drop worked before. This is their argument.

1- of course i know i have to accept the change, i just don't recall specifically whether or not iPhoto itself was one of the recent updates i accepted. lol
2-this is not true - a few years back, it was a 2 step process. Then it changed with one of the upgrades, and i have been able (as long as i selected 4x3 *book* as opposed to 4x3 *dvd*) to drag between orientations for the past few years - at LEAST 2 years, maybe as many as 4 (I lose track). I remember thinking at the time what a wonderful upgrade that was because it did away with all that needless clicking. Now all of a sudden this month, it has been switched off - am I the only one who has noticed this?
I have been creating an annual 'family photo album' book via iPhoto for several years now, and i use the 4x3 book sizing specifically for that reason, so I've got lots of experience using this setting. I *know* it used to work the other way.

Drag and drop files to library on a Mac

Does anyone know how to do this? I feel silly asking how to drag and drop...yet it doesn't appear to be allowed on my Mac. I don't want to import to library because I import a lot of PNGs most of the time and Flash creates symbols for me (again, only on a Mac, not a PC). Is this some sort of ploy from Adobe to get Flash designers off Macs? I just think using Flash on a PC is MUCH more user friendly than on a Mac. There are other reasons I think this.
Anyway, if there is a way to drag and drop to the library, I'd love to hear it. thanks for any help!

So, I assume you are dragging and dropping objects from your machine directly to Library pod or to your Slide.
Are these images/sounds located on network?
No, on the same drive (c:).
Try Closing Captivate and Right Click--Run As -Administrator and check if it is still doing the same behaviour on a enw project.
I've tried this. Same result.
Usually when you drag and drop an object -- if it is movable to destination is shows a small "+" and if not it shows "x" next to the faded dragged object.
Can you please try these and if it still happens, can you add some more information?
I've tried to drag and drop simple files, like jpg, mp3, swf... what ever. Nothing works. I've got the same problem on my home office system, wich is totally different to my working station here. My colleague here in my room has pretty the same system, and it works fine.

Itunes, no more drag and drop?

Is it me or is 11.0.1 is the worst itunes ever? I can no longer drag and drop songs into playlists. I also have a program called "tune up" and it does not let me drag songs into the application. I was trying to add to a playlist and now playlists that had 100 songs now have a 1000. Any suggestions for a fix? I wish I could revert back to the old itunes!

You can drag and drop in to your existing playlists or create new ones.
From your music library, select the album, or songs from an album, and drag the right side of the window. As you drag a side window appears allowing you to drop the file or album in to your playlist.
Dropping the file into blank space will create a new playlist, once you release the click, you can edit the playlist's name which should already be highlighted.

Unable to drag and drop album cover art work in Itunes 10 64-bit

I just recently installed Itunes 10 64-bit version and transfered all of my music. I wanted to add some art work to some game tracks but I can no longer drag and drop.

Make sure your windows userid has full control and ownership over the entire music folder. Check the box to apply this to subcontainers (aka subfolders)

Drag and Drop won't work and Application icons turned to folders

Today I lost the ability to drag icons. After a bit of searching on the internet I read that deleting the Library/Cache folder might clear it up. I did so, then rebooted the computer.
Now all my Application icons have become folder icons. What's worse is all my files show a blank icon and say there is no application present to open them when I attempt to open them.
And I still can't drag my icons.
What should I do?
If I could just get drag and drop back in action I could back up my data to my external HD and do a fresh install.
Or is there some way to move files without dragging them?
Is there some way to get the Cache folder back to normal?
I've already repared premissions.
I'm running OS X 10.2.8
700 Mz eMac Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Here's Apple doc.#107247. Apple says to restart your Mac as many times as it takes to allow drag and drop again. This problem is limited to some Jaguar users. It may take numerous restarts.
It is also suggested you install the 10.2.8 Combo update. You can install right over your present 10.2.8 with no issues. Make sure you unplug all USB and FireWire before installing. Just to be safe, Repair Permissions before and after the install.
If none of the above works (make sure you restart 100 million times!) download and install the free Dragster 1.61 program which addresses this issue.

Regarding your question on how to get started:
Really it's just a case of breaking the problem down into managable parts until you have solved all the pieces.
Start by implementing the "AJAX form using globals" at http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=200801:2011
It shows you how to pass data back to the database using AJAX with the WWV_FLOW variables, which are there for exactly that purpose.
Make sure you also understand the response Ext is expecting, use Firebug to examine the responses in both examples.
Once your comfortable with that, try loading a tree using an application process.
You can create stubbed responses initially for the application process, e.g.
