Allow email account setup on supervised iPad without allowing account changes?

Hi!
I  would like students using  Configurator supervised ipads to be able to add an email account (gmail for example) It looks like to do that I would need to "Allow modifing account settings" and that lifts other restrictions at the same time. Is there a way to just "allow adding email accounts" ?
We have an app that will allow data export, but only by email and so if this is not set up, no go.
Thanks

I've found that configuring an email  is tedious at a minimum. The students will not remember all the needed parms.
If you still need to go with an email approach, I think a web browser based uploads would be better.  The student can get a gmail account if necessary.  You can have the gmail account forward email to any email address.
I have not tried this.
Try the iCab web browser for uploads.  Check out Google chrom too.

  • Email account change

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the email address for an icloud account.  I no longer have the email address that the kids used to set up my account.  I also dont know the password for it.  I cannot request a change via email because I no longer have the account and I don't know the answers to the questions they put ;-((.   I have managed to change it for my apple id.  My phone keeps asking me to sign into icloud with the old email address.

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change (you shouldn't need to verify the account).  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How to block unwanted emails in yahoo on my ipad without access to a computer?

I am deployed and I have only my iPad. I would like to block unwanted emails in my yahoo account. How do I do this?

Once they are marked as junk, any future emails from them will be sent to the junk or spam folder, thus I will still be receiving emails from them, they a just routed to a different location in my email. If this is correct, I would like to completely block the email address and prevent them from sending me emails versus routing them to my junk box. I appreciate your time with helping me on this matter.

  • How do i change the icloud account associated with my iphone and ipad when i forgot the password and no longer have access to the email account?

I have an iPhone 5c and an ipad 3.  using the latest version of iOS.  I can't delete the old iCloud account on the devices without putting in a password but I don't have it, nor a way to change it via email since the email acct is an old one.

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your devices, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • My iPhone 5S prompts me for my password to an Apple ID email that no longer exists as an account.  How do I change my Apple ID address without having to change the primary address to a non-existent email account?

I cannot sign into icloud on my phone because the Apple ID is an email account that has been deactivated and deleted.  How can I change my Apple ID without having to change the primary email address to this non-existent account? If I did so, I wouldn't be able to access the account to receive the verification email. Please help!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You should not need to verify the old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Can I reset an icloud account on my dead father ipad without knowing his password?

My father has died a little while ago and he left me his Ipad which I can access but I need to reset the Icloud with my own details and delete his account.
How can I do this as I do not have his password?
His email associated is icloud.net but I have no way of accessing this. I do have another Apple ID for him which I do have a password for.
Is there anyway it can be fixed at an Apple Store or is there a simple way of me resetting?

If your device is signed into your old iCloud ID and you are trying to change it to your current ID, and if the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go tohttps://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • Removing email account, but keeping contacts and calendar

I have a work email account setup on my iPad. I have changed jobs and would like to delete the old work account. Is it possible to remove the old email account, but preserve the contacts and calendar information?
    Thanks

Same happening here. Contacts and calendars sync between 2 Macs OK using iCloud. iCloud syncing with iOS devices worked well until Monday afternoon 12/19.
Since then (3 days) mail, contacts and calendars in my iCloud account do not sync to iPhone 4 and iPad. Photo Stream OK.
All software is up to date. Wiped iPhone and started fresh. Still syncing is broken.
OmniFocus, Evernote, Gmail, Dropbox sync OK. Safari works too.
Attempts to delete iCloud from iPhone stall at spinning pinwheel.
Likewise attempts to disable calendar and contacts services stall.
Seems this problem relates to iCloud security on iOS gadgets.
    Still out if sync.

  • I disconnected an email account from my iPhone 4- no longer receive the emails from that account on the phone BUT the address still appears on some outgoing emails?  How can I stop that from happening?

I have not upgrade to iOS7. I've deleted an email account (gmail incase it makes a difference).  The problem is that the ADDRESS still sometimes used despit the deletion.  Now, one of the reasons I deleted it was that this address would "override" the address I was trying to actually send from even if I manually selected the other address.  How do I get this completely disconnected from the phone without replacing the phone??

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • How can I change my Apple ID/Cloud account that has an email that no longer exists?, How can I change my Apple ID/Cloud account that has an email that no longer exists?

So I got a new email address, and afterwards I set up my new Apple ID for my iPad and Macbook. However, on my iPhone 4s, the account still is tied to the old email and I cannot verify my account of switch it over because it will not log into my old Apple ID. I do not want to delete the cloud account on my iphone because it warns that a lot of info will be deleted. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  (You will get an option to keep the data on your device when you delete the account.)
You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • The email address for iCloud for me is no longer in use. I need to change my email and password on my iPad.

On my iPad it will not let me change my email address. The old one is no longer in use and I cannot get emails on it any longer. How do I change iCloud email address on the iPad?

To change the iCloud ID ("email address") you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • So I deleted my email account associated with AppleID and now my icloud is all jacked up.  Can anybody help?

I mistakenly deleted the yahoo email address associated with my icloud accounts on ipad and phone.  Now I can not delet the icloud account from either and it wont let me login either?

If you did it by mistake, go back and recreate your ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.

  • Email simplification/deletion on iphone/ipad and organization on PC

I found old discussions related to deleting email/gmail messages from my iphone but not on my PC.  However, it is now 2014 and I have ios 7.0.6.
IS there new and/or easier to understand information?
Another question...also not answered understandably for me in previous old discussions:
HOW do I delete multiple emails on my iphone and ipad without having to select and delete messages one by one?
I followed instructions from one discussion and think I read afterward on another site that I may have deleted all messages from all devices and my pc (via IMAP?)  Blah!!  I have set my iphone to delete those email messages to  "trash" on iphone and pc and so can check for lost important messages on my pc and re-organize, but I hope I don't have to!   And I hope that setting trash to be "removed" from oanother of my mail boxes (perhaps not IMAP?) after one day does NOT mean that deleted messages will also be removed from my PC after one day.
    Next question:
Why did ALL undeleted email nicely organized into pc folders on my pc get from my pc to my phone?
Again, Via IMAP I'm guessing? What a mess!  Especially if I lose important messages nicely sorted on my pc because I tried to follow instructions to make them go away on my iphone -- and especially if I can't find a way to only keep most current mail on my phone and ipad and use my pc to organize mail I want kept on my pc but not kept on my iphone/ipad.
Thanks for your help!  My apologies for being so confused by all this!  Apparently I am not the only one, however...

Ditto. As of some time last night (16 Sep 2014), outgoing email on my iPod Touch (1G!) ceased working (though fortunately I can still receive messages). Also on my iMac when I checked this morning, the wheel just spins endlessly for the smtp mac mail outgoing server (as shown on connection doctor). Fortunately I can still receive incoming mail. Also ditto when I log onto iCloud via web - all works fine including sending myself a message.
    So, what's up?

  • How can I delete an old icloud account that is under an old email account

    deleting an old icloud account

If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).
