Allow or Block websites disabled

I posted this a little while back to no avail.  Within Preferences/Trust Manager/Manage Internet Access the Specifiy Web Sites to Allow or Block is greyed out.  I have checked all of my admin settings in Windows settings and everything is set to administer.  I can get access to it when I had Acrobat 9 but not with Acrobat X.  I really need this functionality pronto.  Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply.
We have now taken all the updates available, the preferences had been set
to not check for updates.
Now the linked PDFs open in Internet Explorer without the Security Block
message.
In this situation we were not opening from Windows Explorer, we have an
xml file which opens in Internet Explorer, the xml file has links to PDFs
on the network and the PDFs have links
to other PDFs. The user needed the linked PDFs to open in Internet
Explorer for ease of navigation, testing that there are no broken links.
Thanks so much for your timely help we really appreciate it,  the issue is
resolved.

How can I allow or block the use of local storage by specific sites for all users in my domain.
I tried to do this by MMS.cfg but it is not working, the problem is also described in your blog "http://forums.adobe.com/message/3272907".
What I Want -: "I want to allow youtube for all the users in my domain and this should be listed in Control panel-->flash player-->storage-->local storage setting by site-->websites tab."

Wow, cor-el... Did you -intend- your reply to be inane, inappropriate and completely inapplicable?
How would that possibly do what I asked?
You -might- consider '''''reading''''' the question, -=before=- you reply. And it's really okay to NOT REPLY if you just don't know. Just an idea.

  • How to remove prompt for Allow or Block message when opening a web link?

    THE ENVIRONMENT:
User audience running version of Adobe Reader 5.x-8.x on Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 platform.
Our web platform is Windows 2003 server, web site address: http://www.uzlicek.cz/default.aspx?ido=95&sh=216233947
    THE ISSUE:
We produce pdf documents with lot of hyperlinks. In new versions of Acrobat and Reader you have to click Allow or Block button before going to the site. It is very annoying for our readers.
There are probably two directions of solution: either modify somehow the pdf document or somehow edit end readers Adobe Reader security settings (or add the document to trusted documents list.
    THE QUESTION:
Is there any possibility how to preset Allow all web sites in Preferences/Trust manager/Internet access from pdf file.../Change settings in such a way, that reader of pdf document is not forced to confirm access to external web site?
Some common thing should work for playing multimedia, the problem is the same, asking and confirming all the time...
Thanks in advance for suggestions of resolving this behavior.

I find these "security" warnings that pop up in Adobe Reader to be a little absurd. All I want to do is create a PDF with a couple of links to websites. How is this any different than creating a webpage with a couple links?
My web visitors certainly don't get a "trusted site" warning box every thime they click on a link. Yet, the pdfs I create force my readers to see not only one, but two different warning boxes before they can do anything with the pdf.
First they get a security warning for connecting to a website, and then they get another message box asking them if they want to "manage trust for multimedia content." Good lord. Talk about scaring people away. Is there really any good reason why my PDF audience should have to go through all this hassle?

  • Sophos uninstaller says "Sophos Anti-virus is not installed" but sophos still blocks websites.

Hi, I downloaded the free (trial?) version and didn't like it blocking websites. I dragged the app to the trash and, of course, it didn't uninstall. Looked it up and got a (I think there are more than one) remove tool for sophos but it says it can't find sophos on my MAC. Yet, when browsing the internet, sophos still blocks websites. Any suggestions? I'm a little frustrated.  Thanks in advance, Willie

    Hi Willie,
Sorry you're having trouble. If you uninstall by dragging the app to the trash instead of using the remove sophos tool, this sort of thing unfortunately tends to happen.
One thing I wanted to mention is that if you don't want Sophos to block websites, you can actually disable the web filtering feature. All you have to do is click the sheild icon > preferences > web protection and toggle the switch to 'off.'
Another question, I was just curious if you were having trouble with Sophos blocking sites that you thought were safe? We should only block you from accessing malicious websites, so if we were interferring with accessing "regular" sites, you can let us know which sites were incorrectly blocked, and we'll take another look at it.
All that said, if you just want to remove Sophos there's a couple things you can do.
    1. Restart your mac, reinstall Sophos, and then once it's working properly, use the 'Remove Sophos Antivirus' app to remove it
    2. Manually remove Sophos
    - Open Activity Monitor and stop any processes with "Sophos" in the name
    - Open Finder, and remove everything in the following list:
    /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus
    /Library/LaunchDaemos/com.sophos.*
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.sophos.*
    /Library/Preferences/com.sophos.*
    /Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus.log
    /Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app
    /Applications/Sophos Remove.app
    /var/db/receipts/com.sophos.*
Note: You'll need administrative rights to remove most of those files. Then reboot, to ensure everything is cleared from memory too. Then run through the list again, to ensure you got everything.
Warning: Be cautious when deleting things in some of those directories. Not everything in there is related to our software - our files contain the name "Sophos".
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any trouble!

  • Can I block or disable Bookmarks Sync on one computer later, after setting it up?

If I set up synchronisation for bookmarks etc for several computers with an account on the Firefox server, can I later block or disable sync for one of the computers without having to remove the program option altogether from my browser? I presume I can(?) uninstall it altogether if I don't want it later??
A related question -- can I set up to sync different things for different computers?

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

  • Whats happened to the 'Only allow cookies from websites I visit' option gone in Safari 5.1.7?

I'm sure there used to be an option to only allow cookies from websites I visit in earlier versions of Safari so my question is have Apple removed some very useful functionality from Safari or have they just hidden somewhere else?

    Chains,
I use Cookies by Sweet P Productions.  It manages your cookies, letting you choose favorites for cookies, flash cookies, and databases (I didn't know about some of these so I had to educate myself!).
They also have a FREE app/extension/addon called Safari Cookies - only for Safari not other browsers.  I started out using it, but it does install something called SIMBL, and I've heard negative things about it.  Nothing serious, but I decided against it.  The paid program is a true app/program and does not use SIMBL.
Right now, they actually have their Cookies program on sale  (FREE stuff at the bottom of page).  You can find their stuff here:  http://sweetpproductions.com/
I have been using them for almost a year without any issues or problems and it's pretty easy to set up.  It's worth it for you to check it out and decide for yourself.
    Good luck!

  • How do i block website from my macbook pro

how do i block website from my macbook pro?

It's an very old and simple question! There are two ways that you can use to block websites on your Macbook Pro:
    1. Enable the Parental Control on your Macbook Pro, choose the app you don't want your kids to use.
    2. Install the Internet filter software for Mac that can help you block any unwanted websites automatically.

  • Blocking websites on it's own but letting ads through that should be blocked by my Add-On

Firefox keeps blocking websites with the "mixed content". I can't watch Netflix and it is even blocking things on this website. I also have an Add-On to block ads but now ads keep getting through everywhere I go. I have ran multiple anti-virus and anti-malware scans but nothing has come up.

  • Allow a blocked plug in

I am trying to allow a blocked plug in (Java) on a trusted site. Your directions say that a red Lego-looking icon will appear in the address bar. I do not have this icon. So, how can I allow Java to work on this site?
I have installed the latest version, and done all of the other recommendations.

Yes, it shows in the plugin list as
    Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.150.3 10.15.2.3
Could this have something to do with 32 bit or 64 bit versions? I have Windows 7 for 64 bit and Foxfire for 64 bit system. But I think my Java is 32 bit.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Blocking websites in iphone safari

    Hey guys,
How can I block some websites to open in iphone's safari. by block I mean, block for good, with authorization (using a password) to unblock the websites perhaps. I've been trying to block adult websites (I've got my really demanding reasons), so it would be better to be able to block websites by genre not by specifically adding them one by one. any help please ?

Not any way that I know of. You can suggest that Apple add this feature: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Or you can return the iPhone (if you bought it recently) and cancel your contract, or sell the iPhone and get one that has this password protected website feature. You'll need to do a little research as I'm not aware of one offhand that supports this. Do you have one in mind that you highly rank?

  • I am having issues with my popup blocker blocking a site, but my popup blocker is disabled.

I am trying to access this site for my college class. It asks me to disable my popup blocker for access to the site, which I have done, but it still blocks my access to the site. I used Firefox last semester and I did not have any problems, do you have any advice? I did go in and make sure that the popup blocker was disabled, and then restarted my browser, but I do not know what else I should try. *Please note that I could very well be doing something wrong......but any advice you could give me would be great! I really do not want to use Internet Explorer if I do not have too, I love Firefox so much better! Thanks for taking time out of your day to help me :)
    Cami

Hi Cami, in your system details it seems you have MySearchDial extension inactive, maybe the problem is there. MySearchDial is malicious software(browser hijacker), see if you have it in your win 7 and uninstall it (Start button > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall.)
    see also :
    * http://www.mysearchdial.com/removal-instructions/
    * http://malwaretips.com/blogs/mysearchdial-toolbar-removal/
also '''delete''' in your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Windows profile folder] the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file User.js file] you have.
The user.js file '''does not exist by default'''. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).
    thank you
