Allow popup

I have disabled all extensions and add-ons and I still can't get a popup window to do a chat from aiowireless.com. I added the website to the exceptions list to allow popups. I also tried by having the popup blocker turned off.
Nothing seems to allow me to open a chat window.
I do get a popup chat window if I use Internet Explorer and I don't want to open a different browser just to do chats with a CS rep.
This problem has occurred on one or two other sites that I can't recall now
Thank for any ideas.

Did you try to access the websites in Safe Mode?
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if this helps in case your security software is involved.

    I dont know what else to say about it. I updated and now all this is happening and it didnt before my update to Firefox5. I have several site I use daily and I have gone in and marked them to allow popups and they just dont work. The sites are My Yearbook...Kia Financeing...and a few more. I am sorry you are not in a position to replace the iPad. It is stating the obvious, but nothing lasts forever - especially something like an original iPad. IMHO, there is nothing you can do to address the issues you have posted about.

  • How can I disable pop-up blocker manually cause the website I want to access just shows me a message that I have to allow popups and reloads.

    My corporate website requires to open a separate window for one of the applications, but when I access it from my tablet it shows a message that I have to allow popups in which I can only click OK and then reloads without letting me get to the popup blocker dialogue of Firefox mobile.

    Hi Tsanko,
    It is a bit different in Firefox mobile, you should be able to tap the icon next to the URL for the site (the favicon) and get a drop-down menu. Select Clear Site Preferences. Then reload the site. If you get the blue drop-down saying Firefox prevented windows from opening, select Show to allow them and then Reload.
    Let me know if you have more questions.
    Thanks,

  • I allowed popups for an applicaiton that was not letting players gift, but now gifting is fixed & I want to stop the popup I allowed under Firefox options.

    A month ago I was playing an application on Facebook & the app messed up and was not letting players gift. I noticed in the browser a message from Firefox with an option box. I clicked the option box & allowed popups for this application only (it was an app called Fairy Village). Now they have the gifting glitch fixed but the popup I allowed on the app is preventing me from gifting. I allowed the popups for this 1 app on both my computers, a laptop & a desktop. Both have Windows XP as the operating system. How can I reverse the option of allowing popups for this app to not allowing popups for this app?

    Sorry edmeister, but I'm a 72-year-old female & not all that familiar with all this. I did read about popup blocker settings but it told me to go to my Firefox button, click on tools...When I click on the Firefox box just above my browser on my laptop, there is no option for tools. Am I suppose to be in a different place to do this or do I need to be in the application where I allowed the popup? I'm sorry I'm such a fool when it comes to these things. This was the application, Fairy Village, on Facebook. I have allowed the popup for both my laptop & my desktop...Help please & sorry again I'm not smarter in these areas.

  • Even though I have allowed popups from a certain site,when I try to open a dilaogue box a yellow line pops up that says firefox has blocked a popup. How can I change this??

    When I try to open the dialogue box on a website to see if there are any jobs available, firefix won't allow it
    "Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop up." is the message that pops up. I have gone into preferences to allow popups from this site. BUT it doesn't allow them.

    Turn off pop-up blocking, when the popup appears right-click within to find out what the actual site is.

  • How come I am not able to prevent Firefox from allowing popup windows even after I enter the website address under Security?

    I have been using Firefox on a Mac computer for a number of years and have been happy with it. I have recently gone to a different trading platform called Trademonster.com and am having issues with its operation. When I call Trademonster, they told me that my Firefox must allow pop-up windows to operate. I do notice that when I log on to Trademonster on Firefox, it does say ".. Firefox prevented 2 pop-up windows from opening". I have gone to Preferences and under Security entered trademonster.com as a site to have access but I am still getting the signal that Firefox is preventing popup windows from coming up on the trading platform.
    PLEASE HELP.
    Thx.

    Hi,
    Please check if this happens in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode]. Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', and themes ('''Appearance''') in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u '''Use hardware acceleration when available''']. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

  • Safari on Lion will not allow popup windows to return data to the website

    I have a web-based application that uses pop-up windows to capture certain user changes. One example is the user changing the default number of hours to a new specific number. The problem is that with Safari on Lion, the data does not get returned to the website.
    I have tested this function with Windows and IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari with no problem. I have tested it with my Macbook system running Snow Leopard and Safari, with no problem. I have tested it with my Macbook and Firefox with no problem. I've used the Firefox Firebug debugging tool with no errors found.
    Debugging has proven that the data is being captured by the popup, and it is assigned to the returnValue. However, the website never receives that data - the object is empty. This error is happening with every popup I've tried in the system covering a wide range of uses.
    The only thing I have found that fixes/masks the problem is turning on the Developer menu in Safari, and then starting Javascript debugging. In that mode the problem does not occur, but I can't find any errors to fix.
    It seems as if there is some change in Lion that affects the security of popup windows and returned data, but an internet search turns up no similar complaints. I have been able to reproduce the error on 3 different Macs running Lion.
    I have verified that pop-up windows are not blocked, and java and javascript are enabled. I've also compared the settings on my system with the failing systems and find no Safari settings that make any difference. I've tried all the simple things like system reboots, safari resets, and cookie cleaning.
    I would appreciate any ideas or information that might help. I am an experienced developer but relatively new to Mac's.
    Here is the code that calls the popup and waits for the returned data :
    if (window.showModalDialog)
    retVal = window.showModalDialog(templink, "name", "dialogWidth:275px;dialogHeight:350px");
    else
    retVal = window.open(templink, "name", "height=350, width=275,toolbar=no, directories=no, status=no, menubar=no, scrollbars=no,resizable=no, modal=yes");
    if (retVal == 'cancel')
    return;
    else {
    frmnewhrs.lid.value = tempid;
    frmnewhrs.newhrs.value = retVal;
    frmnewhrs.submit(); }
    This is the code in the popup that captures and sends the new data :
    function preSaveCheck() {
    var tempstr = document.getElementById("newhrs").value;
    if (tempstr.length > 0) {
    window.returnValue = tempstr;
    window.close();}

  • Allowed popups do not load in Firefox 4

    In Firefox 4, clicked on my credit card statement link on Chase website, and an empty window opened. In Firefox 3, my statement comes up with an option to save as PDF. Cannot do this in Firefox 4. Just get a blank. Have enabled popups for this website. Uninstalled Firefox 4 and went back to Firefox 3.611, which I am now using and the site works perfectly.

    You should at least update to the latest Firefox 3.6.x version (currently 3.6.17).
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Allowing popup exception for local javascript files ("file://")

    I use Firefox to write local applications on my laptop. When doing so the URL always begins with file:///. When a local document is opened the output of document.domain is "domain." If I disable popup blocker my local html based application creates a new browser window and then two additional windows are opened in new tabs. This is what I want but I do not want to disable popup blocker, I want to add an exception. If popup blocker is enabled then only the new browser window is displayed.

    AFAIK then you can't make an exception for links opened via the file:// protocol <br />
    You need to open such links via http://localhost
