Allow reference images to be placed in the workspace background

This isn't a "fix" or anything, just an idea. I'm not sure how you would interact with these images (zoom, etc), but it would be very helpful to be able to place images around the canvas in the actual workspace background. Especially when you're in full screen mode, with the gray area stretching all the way to the edges. This would be a great asset to people using the program from illustration, and would give the feel of actually taping up reference around the artwork. That area isn't used for much at the moment. I'm surprised Adobe hasn't utilized it as a kind of "behind the canvas" pinboard or color mixer or something.

Not an un-interesting proposal – though I wonder what it would mean programming-effort- and file-size-wise.
Personally I’d rather see a feature like »layer as guide« where a Layer’s pixel content on the canvas can be kept visible while working in Photoshop but would appear neither in the Preview and flattened copies nor be accessible in layout applications.

    How do I drag an image or text box to the "workspace" off of my working file but where I can still see the image and text box for future use?
    When I drag the item off of the trifold that I am creating, it just disappears but I still want to use it.  I just need to move it out of the way to modify other portions of the document.
    thanks,

    Add another page below the current one to use as a storage area. You can't use the grey area around the page for storing items you want to use later.
    Go to the Pages Menu>Provide Pages Feedback if you would like to request this feature be added in future versions.

    Surprise surprise but we can't see what you are looking at and referring to.
    What black background?
    If it is black background in the actual photo:

  • SCCM 2012 R2 OSD Win7, a Reference Image or Install.wim from the Win 7 media

    I want to use thin image to deploy win7.
    So do I need to built a reference Image, or I can use install.wim from Windows 7 media directly?
    I saw someone suggest built a reference Image fist. so what different between  builting a reference Image or using install.wim from Win7 media?

    Hi,
    When you build your won reference image you can include your own software and Software Updates which makes it a lot faster to deploy. I normally add:
    - Windows 7 hotfixes that are not delivered through WSUS/Microsoft Update
    - Visual Studio Runtimes 2005,2008,2010,2012
    - .NET framework 4.5
    - And all the latest software updates from Microsoft.
    So I recommend that you create your own image.

  • Logo image is not placed in the application

    dear sir,
    What I did
    I had gif image ias d:\image\raghu.gif
    I went to shared components where i find images. I browsed and located the the above image and clicked the upload button.
    I just ensured by doing second time and got message that i already have raghu.gif
    I went to applicatin definition where i selected clicked image
    under logo as was mentioned in forum reply i wrote /i/raghu.gif
    under logo attributes i gave the value as width="300" height="50"
    while i am trying to run the logo box / border appeared correctly but no image displayed just a big X mark alone displayed.
    I tried various possibilities mentioned in google search and this forum members suggestion too. Everything went with vain.
    help is solicited
    yours
    dr.s.raghunathan

    under logo as was mentioned in forum reply i wrote /i/raghu.gifFor uploaded images in shared components use #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# (or #APP_IMAGES# if associated with only one application):
    #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#raghu.gif/i/ contains images and other files created at installation, not images uploaded as shared components.

  • Variable .wim file (BackupFile) using %TaskSequence% not working for reference image

    Hello,
    I am trying to make a semi-automated solution for building reference image. The goal is to just select a task sequence and based on only that input create a reference image and store it on the MDT server as a unique named .wim file. I'm doing almost exactly
    the same as all the pro's (Johan, Mikael, etc.). What I do is in the CustomSettings.ini I specify BackupFile to be %TaskSequenceID%.wim. My goal with that is to get a .wim file that is called REFWIN81CORENLX64.wim. Instead of that I get %TaskSequenceID%.wim.
    I'm banging my head against the wall all day now and I have even build another environment to see if the problem occurs there too. It does..
    I'm hoping that someone can tell me what Ido wrong.
    Mathijs

    Short Answer:
    You have programmed a race condition into your system.
    Long answer:
    MDT will fill out the TaskSequenceID variable during the MDT LiteTouch Wizard.
    You put the BackupShare variable in your CS.ini file:
    BackupShare=\\MDT02\MDTBuildLab$\%TaskSequenceID%
    However, the CS.ini was ALREADY processed *BEFORE* the MDT LiteTouch Wizard. and since TaskSequenceID was set to <BLANK> then Backupshare becomes the value above. ANy attempt to re-parse the cs.ini file will not process BackupShare because ZTIGather.wsf
    will only pick up the value the first time.
    Instead you should set the BackupShare variable *AFTER* the MDT Litetouch Wizard, if you want to leave it in your CS.ini file, then use Johan's method to re-parse the CS.ini file during the Task Sequence.

  • 0x80070570 error when deploying reference image

    I've followed all the steps in creating a reference image. When I boot the reference computer and deploy the Windows 7 x64 Enterprise (build 6.1.7600.16385) image to it, it gets about half way through and then says:
    "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"
    The ISO for Windows 7 is good as I have used it before when burning it as a DVD and was able to setup multiple machines with it. Also in previous testing I was able to use this same ISO/DVD to setup a new machine and sysprep it with out a problem. This issue is occuring only with MDT deployment.
    Has anyone else gotten this error or know of a fix?
    Full error:
    Setup failed applying image \\xxxxxxxxxx\DeploymentShare$\blah blah\install.wim, rc = 31
    ZTI ERROR - Non-zero return code by LTIApply, rc = 31
    Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -214767259 0x80004005

    For what it's worth, I'm having the same problem.  I was happy to see that it worked for you when you chose to "Completely regenerate the boot images" so I tried the same thing.  I'm still getting the same error, though.
    I decided to try the install to different hardware to see if it was a device-specific or hardware-specific problem.  Same thing happens.  I've successfully deployed to both pieces of hardware in the past.
    I'm trying to update my deployment source with the newly released Windows 7 ISO that has SP1 integrated.  I figured it'd be a simple case of importing the new Operating System in MDT's Deployment Workbench, updating my task sequence to use the new OS,
    and regenerating the boot image.
    Anyone have any more ideas on what to try?
    I don't have a suggestion as I'm in the same boat, but I would love to get some documentation on exactly what the interaction is between MDT and WDS. Boot images are contained in WDS, but if you import a reference OS image into WDS it won't be seen in MDT unless
    you re-import it. I'm not real clear on this.
    I'm also working with WinXP in this environment currently so that adds an extra wrinkle, but it's still quite the convoluted process, IME.

  • No image appears in the workspace even though the image is opened by Photoshop

    I just installed Photoshop CC 2014.2.2. from the Creative Cloud so all settings are still default, etc.
    However when I try to open a .jpeg, there is no image that shows up in the workspace. It is just a blank workspace, even though the file shows up  as "Background" to the right of the workspace.
    I have tried both "Open With Photoshop" when clicking on the .jpeg, as well as having Photoshop already open and then choosing File -> Open and browsing to the file and opening it.

    I would suspect that you may need to update you display's adapters device driver if Photoshop apears to be working but not displaying your image's layers correctly.

    I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and have found that some of my software no longer works, notably Image Browser and also the Epson Scanner Perfection 3490 software. Is there a 'patch' or way to allow me to use these programmes especially the scanner.

    Apple discontinued support for PowerPC apps with Lion, I think, so you're out of luck there. No patch coming, unfortunately. Best to upgrade whatever old applications you have or, since it seems like you're using some relatively old software, scout around for replacements that give you the functionality you need.
    Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Print & Scan and select your scanner from the list--if it's not there you'll need to add it (start with the little plus icon). Once you have it in the list you can click on the Open Scanner button and a pretty barebones scanner driver will load for you. But Image Capture (as mentioned previously), found in your Applications folder, will probably do the job as adequately, or better, than your old scanner software.

  • Win 8.1 Metro apps re-installing after being removed from the reference image

    Scenario:
    MDT 2013 - Build reference image for Win 8.1 on hyper-v executing the following commands removing all metro apps.
    Powershell.exe -Command "&{Get-appxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue}"Powershell.exe -Command "&{Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue}"
    Install windows updates and perform sysprep and capture wim task
    Import Wim into Sccm 2012 r2 and deploy with standard mdt task
    Problem:
    After deployment all Metro apps are reinstalled or reinstalling.
    Notes:  Setting Copyprofile True is ignored and have tried various methods and it is always ignored.
    If I use the wim from sources\install.wim and I either dism /remove-appx... or powershell in win PE get-appx -path | Remove-appx...
    If that wim is modified and used then it deploys without the Metro apps but it doesnt have any windows updates.  If I use that wim to build the reference image it will have no metro apps but after capture and deploy through sccm the metro apps start
    to re-install.

    I have found also that wasn't getting a good sysprep.  Problems with copy profile lead me to try doing a manual sysprep where I found I was getting failures in my sysprep. The problem was that I was disabling the windows store service in my reference

    I was very hopeful that was going to be the resolution but it appears that is not the case.

  • Last image placed in the document comes up as being modified constantly

    I have an indesign issue.
    Running CS4 (6.06) and CS5 (7.0.4)
    On snow leopard  10.6.8
    On a Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    My problem is that when I have a document with images in for some reason it seems that the last image placed in the document comes up as being modified.
    I do the required update everything appears up to date save the job and the same link will again show as being modified, so I get in to an infinite loop.
    This happen with documents saved locally and on a server, with documents I created and documents I have picked up form other artworkers.
    It is not an issue with specific link as we have seen this in many linked images, I tried to identify a trigger for this problem.
    I took 4 images placed them into a document save locally in my desktop opened closed the document after each image was placed, it work fine for all 4 images on there own. I added a text box to my document saved and the last image placed then flagged are being modified in my links panel, I deleted the image that was flagged as modified from the document and saved, as soon as I saved the next image in placed order now came up as being modified (this image was not flagged and being modified when I have 4 images placed).
    If I remove the text box from this document at any point then no images are flagged as modified.
    Just to confirm. This in not based around one document, specific images or one mac. I didn’t have this issue with 10.5.8 and Older CS4 on the same machine.
    Please help??

    You said this is not an issue on just one machine. Does this mean that other machines are alos showing this behavior?
    The first thing to try for any flakiness like this is: Replace Your Preferences
    That said, this sounds like it coud be some sort of conflict. Are you running any third-party plugins?

    Hi,
    I tried to return html content from a pl/sql procedure but the images referenced were missing. Attached please see the part of the coding in the pl/sql procedure. Everything worked except the images. When I specified something like <img src="" />, the image would come up. Whenever I included an inline (or external) stylesheet in the pl/sql procedure, the images were not picked up.
    Thanks.
    Andy
    Here is the code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_email AS
    ret_code integer := -1;
    begin
    -- Send email
    select db_mail.send_mail('[email protected]',
    'test email',
    '<html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <style type="text/css">
    div#pullquote
         background: #fff url(<reference image in another server>) no-repeat;
    div#pullquote p

    div#pullquote h2
    margin: 0;
         padding: 20px 20px 0 20px;
         background: url(<reference image in another server>) no-repeat 100% 0;
    div#pullquote p.furtherinfo
         text-align: right;
    </style>
    </head>

    INTO ret_code
    FROM dual;
    end test_email;
