Allow sqlplus access to normal user

i am running oracle 10.2.0.4 on AIX5.3. the oracle owner group is dba.
I want to create a user say test1 in group limitedpriv and want to give him access to sqlplus but i don't want to allow the user to login as sysdba. Please suggest how this could be achieved.

You need to provide detail infor what this user access requirement. Is the user just need to access to database or
the user need to access the database in the AIX server. If the user just nedd to access the database, just create
a user accound in the database and access from anywhere as long as the user can tnsping the database.
If the user need to access from AIX server, then the user need to request a AIX unix usre account where
the user can use sqlplus.

  • How to restrict the access of "InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx" and "InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx" pages for some users and allow the access for some users?

    I have a requirement to restrict the access of "InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx" and "InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx" pages for some of the users and allow the access for some of the users.
    I have applied the below code on the web.config file but this modification impacting only on the web application level not on the site collection and sub site level.
    <location path="_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx">
        <system.web>
          <authorization>
            <deny users="*" />
          </authorization>
        </system.web>
      </location>
    <location path="_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx">
        <system.web>
          <authorization>
            <deny users="*" />
          </authorization>
        </system.web>
      </location>
    When I tried the access on
    :<portno>/sites/<scname>/_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx">http://<servername>:<portno>/sites/<scname>/_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx page allowed the access for all users.
    Please suggest the possible solution to restrict the access of "InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx" and "InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx" pages on SharePoint2013.
    Thanks

    You can't do it from OOTB.
    _layout folder is accessible to the users if they have read access in any of the site even subsite.
    You can modify *.aspx file, add your custom control which will check user.

  • IE report access to normal user (SCCM 2012 R2)

    Hello All
    Trying to wrap my head around allowing "normal user" to view/run reports via internet explorer http://servername/Reports
    I created a new group called SCCMReportViewers in AD and added one user to that group, then I went to SCCM 2012 and created a new security role by coping existing one called read-only analyst and called it reporting user. On that new role I changed all permissions
    to run reports and nothing else. Then I added that new AD group under Administrative Users on SCCM 2012 server with security role that I made in previous step (reporting user)
    When I try to access http://someserver/Reports I get logon window and after I log on as "normal user" I do not see any reports at all. I even added sccmreportviewers group permission directly on one of reports with permission to run reports and
    browse but that didn't get me any closer to solution. Mind you admin users on sccm 2012 can see all reports and run them with out problems.
    PS
    SQL2012 server is running on another server then sccm 2012 and reporting service is installed on SQL2012 server

    The SSRS reports will not be displayed within the list of available reports if the logged-on-user doesn't have the role/permissions within ConfigMgr to access the data needed to create the report. (well, that how it is for us, and that seems to be fairly
    logical to me)
    e.g. If the user doesn't have the role/permissions to the status messaging data, that user will not see any status message reports available to choose from. (after all, what value is there in allowing somebody to run a report that will never return any result
    rows...)

  • Is there a way for an administrator account to access a normal account...

    without resetting the normal account's password?
    I'm coming from years in a PC world and I'm very new to the Mac. I bought an iMac several months ago as a family computer. My kids use it for homework, web surfing and email.
    I created their accounts as normal accounts and my account is an administrator. On several occasions I've wanted to update some software (like iTunes or MS Office) and the application is locked by another user. I could reset their password, or I could force a shutdown and risk losing unsaved homework.
    Is there a process by which an administrator or super user can access a normal user's account?
    Of course, I could also use this method to snoop on the kids, which is also an objective...
    Thanks.

    The user accounts are set up to prevent access by others, and any application that is installed in a public area (in /Applications, for example) is available for all users and can be updated by the administrator. That said, the superuser does have full access to all files from the Terminal if they know what they are doing, but I don't see any particular reason to do it this way (unless you are really wanting to snoop).

  • How do you allow all normal users to use the IOSsimulator in Xcode without placing them in the _developer group?

    Ever since we've updated Xcode at my place of work normal users have been unable to run their applications in Xcodes iOS simulator because they're prompted with a "Developer Tools Access needs to take control of another process for debugging to continue. Type the name and password of a user in "Developer Tools" group to allow this". I work in an ever expanding office with over 200 employees so adding them all to the _developer group will just be far to time consuming. Is there a way to give normal users permissions to run the IOS simulator?
    Here is the message I would like for normal users to bypass.

    ....I don't see a way around it - either they're in a permissioned group with an applicable login or they're not, right?

  • Mount a Drive with Normal User Access

    How do I do this? Even better, can I mount it automatically. I know this has something to do with /etc/fstab
    What should I append to /dev /sda2 /mnt/mac to make it mount automatically and allow the normal user access?
    It's where I store my music library.

    Every question you asked is answered in the Wiki - please read it and then try and implement it yourself. If it doesn't work, then come back with a description of what you tried, what errors you got and any other material you have come across.

  • HELP needed on Remote Management set to allow access for all users

    my mac mini snow leopard server runs in a data center and i use screen sharing to interact with it. i played with the sharing settings remotely yesterday and changed "allow access for" to all users. i was disconnected immediately and i couldn't logon again. i have no luck changing to other users. i don't want to make a special trip to the center to change it back to whatever it used to be. i can still use afp to connect but the screen sharing option is no longer available. what does "allow access for all users" mean anyway?
    thanks!

    As its name implies, allow access for all should allow any valid user account to access the server. I'm not sure why it's no longer working. It almost sounds like the ARDAgent crashed.
    Either way there's a command-line interface to the ARD preferences:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/ki ckstart
    man kickstart discusses the options, including examples of how to enable access for specific users.

  • Access denied when trying to use PDF printer as normal user

    I have Acrobat 8 professional installed on a computer running Windows XP SP3. When i try to print a document to pdf from any program as Administrator it performs just fine. When i log on as a normal, restricted, user i get the window popup asking for a file name and location and whereever i try to save a file i get "access denied" error.
    Users have right to write and modify in all of the folders i've tried to save to (desktop, my documents, custom made folders), but i think the problem is with the temp file being written to some system folder where restricted users don't have permission to write. Did anyone encounter a similar problem, and how did you solve it? What directories do the normal users need access to in order to perform printing.
    Thank You

    The forum added some nice links and i found my answer here http://forums.adobe.com/message/1179199#1179199 - changed the registry key permissions and it's working like a charm. Thank you.

  • Allow normal user to run "ip link set"

    Hi,
    every time I power on my wireless lan device by hardware switch I have to execute
    ip link set wlan0 up
    as root in order to use it. There's a bash script which is triggered with normal user rights by the switch.
    I'm member of the network group, but I can't use the bash script to run ip automatically:
    [drake@laptop ~]$ ip link set wlan0 up
    RTNETLINK answers: Operation not permitted
    Is there a way to allow my account to set up wlan0?
    Thanks!

    Good afternoon.
    I believe we have a RFE for this issue our datebase. Namely:
    Bug 18202: Allow to specify params in reports but prevent saving changes
    If I may, I recommend that you open a support case and ask the responsible engineer to add your company's information to the RFE (once it's confirmed that the 2 issues are indeed the same). Doing so will increase the chances of this functionality being added to the product in a future release.

  • Allow normal user to start/stop Tomcat

    Hi,
    Recently I deployed a web app at client's pc running on WinXP SP2. However, I'm not allowed admin rights to that local machine. Is there a way to allow normal user ( like my case) to start/stop Apache Tomcat services without requesting my client to log in as admin to perform this simple task?
    Thanks.

    salafrance wrote:A simple way would be to write a small C program to run systemctl setuid root.
    So perhaps like this?
    #include <stdlib.h>
    #include <unistd.h>
    int main(void)
    execl("/usr/bin/systemctl", "systemctl", "start", "calibre", NULL);
    return(EXIT_SUCCESS);
    compiled it, then "chown root:root test", "chmod u+s test" and it worked.
    But is this safe? I have absolutely no knowledge about potential security issues...
    I also have thought about periodically restarting calibre, but on the Raspberry Pi, with it's slow ARM, the start takes ages and the processor is completely busy with that task for some minutes.
    And that's the reason why I also want to avoid starting an entire second systemd session... Or is this not that resource intensive?

  • Can not access usb hd as normal user

    Hi,
    I am trying to give read and write permissions to a normal user on my usb hd. This is in my fstab:
    #/dev/sdc1 /media/usb auto rw,user,exec,dev,suid,user 0 0
    /dev/sdc1 /media/usb auto defaults,user 0 0
    (I tried the commented as well as the not commented line).
    I can mount /media/usb as a normal user succesfully, but then:
    > ls /media/usb/
    ls: cannot open directory /media/usb/: Permission denied
    The permisions of /media/usb are:
    drwxr-xr-x 2 ls users 4096 2008-11-28 21:41 usb
    (ls is my username).
    I can access as root.
    What could be wrong?
    Thanks!
    Nathan
