Allowed GR reversal affecting the project costs

Hi,
We have just performed our month-end settlement but when we are tallying our project costs and project costs clearing accounts, we have noted discrepancies. The discrepancies were from the reversals of GR for projects costs that were already settled. Is this really the standard of the system? To allow reversal of GR even if project costs were already settled to AUC?

Suppose take a material A for which in month Jan you created a requirement PR-PO for the same, after that you did GR for the same in same month of Jan. Then you perform period end process for Jan., so your jan month will have actual of that material with respect to that CO object which will have actual posting in GL for that month. Now, in Feb general procees after period end process of jan, you reverse the GR with respect the present period that Feb. and and now you compare the value of settlement and present Account's value which would not match, so it will match once you settle this present updates with respet that material for the same CO object, then it will match with account's values

A week ago, I downloaded the sample code examples. Then I extracted the reverse sample code, loaded it and ran it. All was well.
I was just using it as a resource for example code, so no code changes. Now, when I open the project, I get nothing loaded.
Solution explorer displays Solution 'Reversi' (0 Projects). Below that
"The project requires user input. Reload the project for more information."
This message shows for all three sections Reversi, ReversiGameComponet, and ReversiComponentTests.
Ok, so I figure I must have accidently changed something. So, I re-extract. Same message.
The only thing I can think of is that in the options, I changed the startup location for my projects. I like to keep my code projects on the d: drive, so I changed that to D:\!!!W8. I've always done this so that when I create a new project,
it does it in my project directory by default. Didn't change anything else such as the templates dir.
I did set this back to the c:....projects, as where templates are, but that didn't help. So, I reset to my projects directory.
My project that I created loads ok.
Suggestions?

Does anyone know how to resolve RoboHelp 10 not allowing me to close the Project or Exit

RH 10 does not let me close the Project, use the Exit menu item from the File menu, or click the X at the upper right-hand corner, or in any other way. I have to brute-force a close from Task Manager to exit properly. Does anyone have a resolution/suggestion?

Does this happen with all projects, specifically the sample projects? Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.
If it does, then it might be quicker overall to just uninstall and reinstall.
Otherwise post back.

I apologize for my stupidity right from the start so extra points for the help! how do you get get rid of apps that you dont want ever, off of the list of waiting i guess youd call it? im beginning to think its allowing something to affect the safari?

i started having issues with my i pad yesterday afternoon, then i noticed the upper section of the safari which was grey was now charcoal? since then searches are odd and when i click on history to erase its not there? i went into the apps to see if there might be some i missed cleaning out and not only were there, but i cannot remove them, am i doing something wrong? im not a computer person at all so any help would be greatly helpful. your humble ammature, joe.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari via the taskbar and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Not sure what you mean by the 'list of waiting' (?). Do you mean that they are on your iPad's homescreens with 'waitin' against e.g. they have haven't finished downloading ?
You can delete fully downloaded apps from your iPad's homescreens by pressing and holding any of them for a second or two and they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button below the iPad's screen so as to stop the apps shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded (you can't delete built-in apps) then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

Error message - KD199 Enter a valid value when Closing the Project at CJ20N

As I am trying to close a Project at CJ20N I have faced an error "Enter a valid value for the settlement type Message no. KD199"
I have tried to remove the settlement rules to one of its WBS element, but I could not. System shows the same message - KD1999.
Could you pls let me know how to resolve this to close the Project.

Hi Chandu,
I hope you have already setlted the project, since the system will not allow you to close the project unless there is Zero balance in the project. In this case, you can live without removing the settlement rule from any of the WBS element.
If there is any need to have this settlement rule removed, I suggest to change the settlemet profile to " Do not settle" and check once again. ( If there is any cost already posted, then repost the same to any other receiver.)

Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page ?

As you know, I am using Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 for my current portal project. I have created JSR-168 JSF Portlet Project for my portlet development.
As I have some html pages ready for my development,
Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page for my project?
I did the followings steps:
1: In side the project - File -> Add Existing Item -> Web Page ( imported test.html page from my local folder)
2: Let it convert some of the tags for me ( so now it becomes - �test.jsp� )
3: Set it to initial view.
4. A default portlet page � newPortletPage.jsp is still there with no initial view.
Now after doing this, No Visual Designer and Properties window available to for that �test.jsp� page. Though it allowed me to �build� the project successfully.
When I build and run the portlet application, got the error message �Error occurred in portlet!� on Pluto Portal. Please advice.

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

Settlement of Project Cost and revenue to GL

I am trying to Settle the project Cost and Revenue to GL account. For the same I have defined settlement profile maintaining GL as optional receiver and then I have maintained Source structure for cost and revenue as to separate them at the time of defining settlement rule, defined Allocation structure where in receiver against source, I have assigned GL as by cost element receiver. After that I have maintained settlement rule for WBS element, but when I am running a settlement is done to either of the GL for cost or Revenue which ever is defined first in settlement rule. It is not creating any settlement for second line item of the settlement rule and system is not giving any error message as well.
Where as if I am trying individually only for cost or revenue , settlement is completed with all the values but with any accounting document generated, but if I see the entries to that GL, a settlement entry is created for that transaction.
Can anyone please help in solving this issue ASAP.

    If it is posting to the first line means....
Follow the steps below:
First try to create a project and post the actuals and revenues.
Go to cost element report pick up those cost elements both for costs and revenues.
Go to Soruce Structure in the config, define the structure with name for Ex: 'Z1' and define two assignments, one is Costs and other Revenue, by selecting the costs go to Source mention the cost element where the actual costs are posted on (Mention only that cost element no other cost elements), next select the Revenue assignment and click on Source and mention the only cost element where the revenue wsa posted (Mention only that revenue cost element no other cost elements) and save the transaction.
Come back to project builder, select the wbs and click on settlement rule, in the menu goto-->settlement parameters and check whether the source and settlement profiles are correct or not, incase source structure is not available mention the same.
come back to settlement Rule overview and fill the fields as mentioned below:
1st line:   Category: GL
              GL Account: GL Account Number
              Source Structure: COSTS
2nd Line: Category: GL
              GL Account: GL Account Number (Revenue Account)
              Source Structure: REVENUE.
Now Run the Settlement for the specific period costs posted, the costs will be posted seperately to the two different GL Accounts.
I think this will resolve your problem.

Moving and renaming clips in the Project Window is EXTREMELY slow, but the rest of the program is fine?! PPro CS6

I have Win7 Pro X64 with Core i7 and 32GB RAM...
When I'm editing and doing other things, adding FX etc, the program works fine BUT when I do ANYTHING in the Program Window i.e. renaming clips, moving clips, etc the program acts as if it's bogged down... I can't for the life of me figure this one out...
I don't have a large number of clips/footage items
I've cleaned the cache
What else could be causing this? When I say slow, I mean a good 10 seconds before the program responds to anything I've done, and when renaming clips, I always have to do it twice because the first time it doesn't "take"

It occurs with or without clips in a sequence... the problem isn't the sequences, the problem ONLY occurs in the Project Panel, every other panel is as fast as my machine will allow (very fast) only the PROJECT Panel is EXTREMELY slow when moving clips into folders, etc
ALSO, all my drives and preferences are set up the same in every project, only THIS project is moving slowly... I even divided the project up into 4 separate projects to cut down on the number of clips in each project, and it still moves slow... almost as if something has carried over to each project, or something

Creating Master Project - Child Projects Hierarchy in Project Costing

Hello,
Is it possible to create a Master Project (for example, for a division) and one or many Child projects for that divisions as the projects get rolled out?
A division is given a budget which can be assigned to the Master Project and as the divisional Projects are rolled out with a specific budgeted $s, the Master Budget would be reduced with a new version, so the total budget amount at Master Project Level remains the same.
Just like each sub-task roll up to a Top task and top-task make up the total Project, is it possible to create hierarchical Master-child project relationship with up roll up capability.

Total project costs

Where can I see the total project costs? Is there a report that needs to be generated? Like for example when i created a requisition in internet peocurement which is a project related entry. And then this pr was already converted to po and was approved.

You can run the Project cost summary report from the project costing.

Please guide in the following scenario.
my client is getting project with escalation clause applicable. In this clause the variation in the rates of material or services gets the impact on cost of project . The variation in cost due to change in rate impacts the escalation. The escalation has some short of formullas mutually understood with client, which also includes RBI index and all.
Eg. Estemation has been done for 1000 Ltrs petrol at 50 Rs/ltr in the project. Project will be executed for 5 years. In first year 200 ltrs has been consumed with a rate of 53 Rs/Ltr. Then the extra amount 200 X 3 (this is not the formulla, it is being desided with customer and their client) = 600 will be claimed to client.For this system should record the year wise consumed/work done qty and the variation of rate to generate the claim amount.
The extra amount generated should have to be claimed as escalation value.

Org Parameters - Project Cost Collection Enabled

I would like to uncheck the Project Cost Collection Enabled for an Organization. This Organization is PJM enabled. However, it has no project related transaction getting created.
Can we uncheck that? Let me know your views on the impacts of doing this.

is pointing to the operating unit that owns the records to be
processed. Projects are setup by operating unit (not by organization).
