Allowing Access to Send Ipad Mini Existing Photos to Twitter

I am having trouble when I try to create a Tweet with an existing photo from my ipad mini.  It tells me I have to change the privacy setting to allow Twitter access.  However when I go to the privacy settings on the ipad mini under photos it does not show that Twitter has requested access therefor I can not allow it. HELP!!!

Never mind figured it out. If you want an App to use your existing photos on your iPad, but you do not see it requesting access to your photos under the regular privacy setting then...you have to go under Settings, Restrictions, then under Privacy click on Photos and you must Allow Changes. Then next time you try to send a picture from Twitter or Facebook it will ask you if you will allow the app access to your photos. Accept.

i have a large number of PDFs documents stored on a windows pc that I would like to access on my iPad mini even when not connected  to a network. Does anyone know a solution. Eg maybe card reader and a app.

Those devices have mixed results depending on the application. If the application does not support the device, then you are out of luck. There is no file manager in IOS to allow you to move files between folders because there are no folders that you can access. An app has to specifically support a storage location to access files.
It's not that bad. The app has to have the ability to accept data from another app.  The latest memory dongles come with an ios app to access the external storage.  You then transfer the pdf from dongle's app to your app.  If your app can accept data from dropbox, it will be able to accept data from the memory dongle app.

  • How can i access my iPad from my macbook if the display is out?  i would like to  back up all my information but i cannot "allow" access on the iPad if i cannot see the iPad display.  Suggestions?

Just found out that my display is hosed on my iPad 2.  Connecting it to my macbook prompts me to "allow' access on the iPad 2.  I cannot do so because this information is on the iPad 2 display.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Ipad mini retina - photo albums

Hi, just looking for some advice. I've got a iPhone and macbook and recently my mum bought an iPad mini with retina display. We both obviously have different apple id's. However she has a couple of photo albums in my iPhoto on my mac and she would like to put them on her new iPad. whats the best way to do that?
    All suggestions welcomed
    Thanks in advance

    Hi richo106,
The best option in this case will depend in part on how many photos are involved, where they are currently copied (just in iPhoto on your Mac, or on your iPhone too), and whether or not your mother's iPad is currently set to sync with iTunes/iPhoto on a computer. For options for getting photos out of and into iPhoto on both the Mac and iOS versions, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • Wallpaper on iPad Mini - Find photo file

    Hi,
My daughter has put a photo as her wallpaper on her iPad but has deleted it from the Photos album.
The photo is still accessible to set as a wallpaper or home screen, it's a photo I wish to email to someone, does anyone know how or if it is possible to get hold of the file to email it?
There is no back up unfortunately.
    Thanks for any help given!

here is one way to get it - if she has deleted it from the photo roll.
Go back into settings, wallpaper.  The picture should be displayed as the current wallpaper.  touch it, and it will expand to fill the screen, with the small 'set' controls at the bottom.  Take a screenshot by pushing home /sleep.  (the screen will 'flash'.)  and it will be back in your camaera roll.  you will probably want to 'crop' out the settings line at the bottom.
doing the screen shot can be a little touchy - getting the timing right with the home and sleep buttons, but it works.

  • How do I delete photos from my iPad mini?

How do I delete photos from my iPad mini?

Photos that were taken with the iPad (or any photos in the camera roll) can be deleted right on the iPad. Tap the trash can icon in the top right corner if you are viewing the photo in full screen, or if you are viewing as thumbnails - tap the arrow in the upper right corner - tap the photos that you want to delete and then tap - Delete.
Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced -  and then re-syncing.

  • My nano SIM works in my Nokia mobile phone but "No SIM" when in my iPad mini

I've been around the support loop a few times with varying levels of success, here is my story.
Basically I expect to only occasionally require mobile data services so would like to move my nano SIM from my Nokia mobile phone to the iPad mini as and when required. I have a 500Mb data allowance on my current contract with Vodafone UK which I never use but would like to access with my iPad mini.
The first time I tried it worked! I never tried to surf using it but it registered with Vodafone UK OK and had a good signal level. The second time “No SIM” or “SIM not installed” popup at bootup.
Now irrespective of contracts, tariffs, data plan etc I expect the iPad mini to recognise there as being a SIM present every time and never give “No SIM” except of course when there isn’t one physically in the thing.
Playing along to support and forum suggestions I’ve done a couple of device resets (software reinstalls) and various setting resets. But still “No SIM”.
I’ve also spoken with Vodafone UK and am investigating whether this is in fact some restriction where they’ve restricted the technology so SIM swapping is not allowed. My Nokia E51 is not locked as have had it years.
I just cannot get past the “No SIM” message though!

Do have the details as to why that is?
The single time it recognised the nano SIM and showed as being connected to Vodafone UK I tried to ring it to see what would happen, it just rang out until voicemail picked up but nothing happened on the iPad mini whatsoever.

  • Bug? Raw+Jpeg imports from an iPad mini

    Hi Everyone
I've come across a very strange importing issue with iPhoto 9.6 (910.29). I'm always on the go so I use my iPad mini as photo storage until I gain access to a computer. I’d take my pictures on the camera and then I’ll plug the sd card to the iPad and copy everything that is on the card (via the Apple Lightning to SD card Camera reader).
    I take pictures in (1) RAW only, (2) RAW+Jpeg and (3)Jpeg only.
When I import from the camera to the MacBook Pro directly via USB:
all the 3 formats are properly imported.
When I import from the iPad in iPhoto:
The pictures shot in (1) RAW only and (3)Jpeg only are imported properly
But when I import the (2) RAW+Jpeg ones, iPhoto will only import the Jpeg versions and will give me the error message "Unreadable file: The following files could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format" for the RAW versions of the same image.
Here is what I do not understand:
    - The RAW format that my camera uses (.RW2 for Panasonic FZ1000) is supported so there shouldn't be any issue.
    - (1) RAW only pictures are correctly imported
    - all formats are correctly imported when importing directly from the camera.
It seems this bug only affects RAW+Jpeg imports from the iPad?
Has anyone come across this issue before and if so, is there a fix or workaround? It is not that much of an issue as the RAW only files can still be imported from the iPad but I find this issue very curious.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure about the fix but the workaround is to not shoot Raw+Jpeg, which is pretty pointless anyway, as importing the Raw to iPhoto means it creates a Jepg preview, so you end up with Raw +Jpeg+Jepg...

I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

  • How do I send photos from my iPad mini by email.i have been through the process but it does not send

I Am trying to send my photos from my photo app. I have an iPad mini. I have done all that is required
but the email was not received/sent. What can I do?

As an experiment and an alternative troubleshooting step, try sending the photo directly from the mail app and not from the photos app.
Start typing and email and then hold down anywhere in the body of the email until a black options bar pops up Select Insert Photo or Video from that options bar. A window will pop up with your photos in it. Choose any photo. Then try to send the email.
If that works, the issue could be in the photos app. Try force closing the photos app, reset the iPad like Carolyn described and the try again from the Photos App.
In order to close apps in iOS 7, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.
