Allowing page extraction with a change permissions password enforced

How can I enforce a change permission password for my PDF and still allow for page extraction? All settings I have tried result in page extraction being not allowed. I've seen on another discussion site that enabling printing and selecting any option other than the last two for the configuration Changes Allowed should allow for page extraction.

As I understand it, all security settings (except "None") will have that effect. New documents wouldn't have security, so it would be pointless to have the security. You can delete all unwanted pages, however, if document editing is permitted.

PDFL - How do you secure a document's permissions AND allow page extraction?

I was directed here by Adobe technical support.
I am currently using PDFL 10.1.1 to try to secure a new document's permissions.
Most of the pdPerm flags work as advertised, and enable/disable given permissions. However, for every possible combination of flags, the permission to "extract pages" remains locked. Even pdPermAll, which is documented as "all permissions," yields a document with page extraction locked.
Is there a way to secure a document's permissions AND allow page extraction?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to display a document library with different view as web part on some sites’ pages.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it in your environment.
Go to your site, create a main document library, create different views on the document library.
Go to “Library Settings” of the current document library, click “Save document library as template” under the “Permissions and Management” section, check “Include Content” and click “OK”.
Go to your other sites, create new document libraries based on the new template, create new pages to insert the new document libraries web part, then respectively edit the list view web parts to select different views based on your needs and save the changes
of the pages.
Then, the new pages will be like below:

Allow page breaks with content is Disabled for Subform

Hi,
I want to display item data on form.I created a subform and dragged table from data view.
Allow page breaks with content is grayed out!!
Plus If i want to add a footer in TABLE option this is also grayed out!! Can't we create a footer from the dragged table?
FYI.. I went to hierarchy view created subform right click page and then dragged table in to this subform.
Am i doing it right?

Resolved myself.
I was creating subforms in page1 instead of the TOP context node.
So What I did is created a subform from top node and then i got pagebreak options and then dragged table.. so much fun! with forms.

Always uploads whole page, even with minor changes // please help....

even if I only change the permission code to the webpage or
even if i change one dot, the page uploads the whole thing again.
If I click "changes only" it doesn't work.
The this occurs only if I upload to mobile me, when I used another
ftp server the "changes only" worked perfect. But I want to use mobile me
because of other reasons.
Funny that the iweb synchronising does not work at the page it was built for

If you add a password, it should not re-publish the entire page, and I am having trouble with it re-publishing the entire site..

Pages files with Track Changes activated can't be zipped!

Hi - I'm collaborating on a document with someone remotely and this feature "Track Changes" is useful for our collaboration.
Its strange, but I can't zip a document that has changes yet to be approved. Is this a bug?

AS - IDCS3: export pdf with permissions password

Hi All,
How do i set permission password while exporting ID document to PDF. I was able to set the document open password with "set change security password to "abcd". But i couldn't find any property for setting the permissions password.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unable to email Pages 5.0 doc with track changes

In Safari, when trying to attach a Pages doc (Pages 5.0 in Mavericks) with track changes in gmail I get an "Attachment failed" error. In Chrome, I'm able to attach and send the file, but the person I've sent it to is unable to open it. Is anyone experiencing anything similar and/or has discovered a fix?

No, they get an error when they try to open it, and they do have the same version of Pages. Yes, I did end up having to export it as a temporary solution, and I don't think the track changes stayed. I was wondering if not being able to send Pages files with track changes is a common issue with Pages 5.0. If you try emailing a Pages 5.0 file with track changes, are the recipients able to open it with track changes in Pages?

Best way to create a "change user password" site?

I want to provide my users with a page where they can change their password. I thought that I could just use the one from the system application (changepw.htm). But it doesn't feature the design2003 and my application has to have a consistent look and feel.
So I copied it and tried to get it working but that wasn't possible because it relies on an application class which I can't get working (it relies on the IF_BSP_APPLICATION_EVENTS) because I don't want to use it as a general application-class and so some methods will not be called.
It seems that the only choice left is to start my own site which will reuse most of the code from the system application class. But before I start reinventing the wheel I would like to know: How have you implemented this functionality?

My approach was the following. I created a new controller and a new view for the password site. Then I extracted all the useful methods from the CL_BSP_LOGIN_APPLICATION class and put it in my controller class. I recycled all the translation stuff so that the page is available in different languages and I also used a lot code from the CHANGE_PW_PROCESSING method. I think it took me nearly a day to get everything working. The most annoying part was testing it because our sap system didn't allow you to change your password twice a day so I had to use lots of test user accounts
Regarding your other question. I have never worked with the BW but from a technical standpoint I am sure that it's possible to change your password when https/SSO is not enabled. But I would never allow my users to change their password when they are not using https.

Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking. I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

Trying to Change AD Password from GW2014 failing

Hello,
I've got the Caledonia books by Danita and I am preparing to upgrade / move our GW2012 edirectory system to 2014, then migrating that to AD. In preparation, I have set up a test GW2014 server and set it to authenticate LDAP against AD. I was easily able to get a user to sync and login to both the 2014 client and webaccess. However, when I try to change the password for this user through either client, the attempt fails with the following error in the POA:
17:10:43 4233 Error: LDAP failure detected [D06B] User:gw2014test (gw2014test)
The closest TID I have seen on this is for GW 2012 where it says that LDAP passwords in GroupWise were designed to work with eDirectory so the function does not work in other LDAP servers?!
Any help would be much appreciated!

I don't believe there is a way to check for expired pwd. I'll check with developers though.

Awesome, thank you that worked!! After I posted my question I tried to
do the SSL but got LDAP error 81 on the POA because I exported the DC's
certificate and not the CA's. Once I followed your steps and exported
the CA certificate I was able to login and change the password without
error in both the client and webaccess.
One more question, I tried to do a "user must change their password on
next login", which is what we do now with eDirectory with new teachers
especially in the summertime, they can change passwords from home before
they arrive. With edir and an expired password, Webaccess puts up a page
for them to change their password. It also does this at password
expiration time. When I set the user must change password in AD, I could
no longer log into webaccess at all, it acted like the password was
incorrect. Is there a trick to get the change password page prompt in
Webaccess or is this something not available with AD as the
authentication source?

Procedure/package to change user password through plsql gateway

I'm not sure is this the right place to ask, but I don't know anywhere better.
I'm using Oracle 817 with the apache that bundled. I use the plsql gateway (mod_plsql). I want to create a page for user to change their password, however, I don't know how to verify the existing password of the user before changing to a new password. Also, how can I change the password, is there a standard procedure to do that?
One more question, when I key in the following:
http://myhost/pls/my_dad/my_schema.my_procedure
the web server return a page with lots of cgi environment (assuming the my_procedure doesn't exist), how can I customise this page?

To ensure security of the Oracle database system and prevent unauthorized access to the Oracle database, it’s important for Oracle users to not only using strong and long Oracle passwords to avoid brute force or dictionary attacks, but also to change the Oracle user password regularly. Oracle users also have to change the password when the password has or going to expire, if database system administrator implements and enforces strict password control with PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME option for user profiles which limits the number of days the password can be used for authentication to login to the system.
To change the Oracle password, users can use SQL*Plus or Oracle SQL and PL/SQL language interface administration tool such as Toad for Oracle. No matter what SQL apps you use, the commands and SQL query languages used to change the password are similar.
There are two SQL command syntaxes that can be used to change Oracle database user password:
ALTER USER user_name IDENTIFIED BY new_password;or (from Oracle8 and above):
PASSWORD
For above SQL query, if you need to change another user’s password, use the following command:
PASSWORD user_name
For PASSWORD command, after you press Enter, you will be prompted to input the old password and new password interactively. For example:
SQL> password
Changing password for DAVID
Old password:
New password:
Retype new password: Note: You need to have enough privileges to change other Oracle user’s password.
As the variable in italic implied by name, user_name is the user whose password wishes to be changed, and new_password is the new password to assign.
As ALTER USER SQL syntax will send the new password to the Oracle database server unencrypted if use without Advanced Security Option, and thus expose to security risk, Oracle users should always use the PASSWORD command to change the Oracle user password.

We have also done the user authentication.
Now we want to allow the user himself to change his password from the application.Can
the user password which is stored in an iplanet directory server be changed from
application?If yes , then is there any extra configuration that needs to be done

I am not sure whether u got an answer for this..
But iplanet provides a web-link for end-users to change their LDAP password...u
can just give this link in ur app ..and iplanet will take care of the rest..

They have gone now and I am attempting to either change the password or delete the user. It won't allow me to choose the user I created. I am logged in as myself and it states that I am an "Admin". The user I'm attempting to change is listed as a "standard" user and there is a white checkmark inside an orange circular background on the user pic in the list of users.
Can someone help me? I am having a hard time believing that OSx will allow me to create users and allow them use of my computer and it's drives, yet it will not allow me to change the password so I can monitor what they might have been doing while logged on? What if this were my child? This guest left under sketchy circumstances, and I'd really like to be able to ensure they were not using my computer to do illegal things or to have illegal communications.
Any help would be appreciated. (It's odd that it was so simple to "create" a user and set a password for them.......but it's complicated or a little known process to reverse.

Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

The problem is I have an old account from an old I-pod which is now broken.Well the I-pod has been binned.I have a new i-pod and have a new user name.I have tried to access the songs i purchased yeateryear on my old device but and this is a but .....The new account will not allow me to access these older purchased songs. I cannot listen to them or burn them onto a cd.It throws up my old account user name in a window with a password request to access this material.I have changed my password several times however I still cannot access these purchased songs.

iPods (that are not iPod touch) are not directly linked to any "account." They are associated with your iTunes library. The account in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is used to purchase and download content from the iTunes Store. It lets the iTunes Store know who you are when you sign in.
Songs that are currently sold by the iTunes Store do not use DRM (copy protection). However, songs purchased during the earlier days of the iTunes Store do use DRM. If you have such songs that were purchased using a previous Apple ID (not your current Apple ID), you need to authorize your computer for that previous Apple ID.
Find one of the songs that does not play due to this problem. Right-click on it in any iTunes list, and select Get Info. On the song's Info window Summary tab, look for Apple ID. That is the Apple ID used to purchase this song.
From the iTunes menu bar, under Store, select Authorize This Computer. In the dialog window that appears, enter that Apple ID used to make the old song purchases (plus password). Do not enter your current Apple ID and password. Click Authorize.
The computer is now authorized for BOTH your old Apple ID and your current Apple ID.

I have a user who's Active Directory password is going to expire. I had her reset her password by going to apple > system prefs > user > and clicking change password. She received the error "The password for the account "account name" was not changed. Your system administrator may not allow you to change your password or there was some other problem with your password. Contact your system administrator for help."
I had her change her password via the kpasswd command in terminal and that changed her password on the server sucessfully however the laptop has FileVault on it. Filevault is not recognizing the new password just the old password.
I have deleted the keychain which didn't resolve and now I am going to decrypt and reencrypt the drive. I'm hoping this is an isolated issue I have over 25 laptops configured like this.

I "think" the trick was unbinding and rebinding the computer account.
After unencrypting and trying to reencrypt Filevault would still not take the new password.
Rebooted the prompt to update the keychain appeared. Updated the keychain. Filevault would still not take the new password.
Unbinded and rebinded the computer account. It worked and let me add the user to filevault.
