Alltel Customer Confused On 4.5 OS Update

Hello all,
I searched for my problem concerning Alltel and the 4.5 update for 8330. From my research I noticed back in March that Alltel is still playing around and not letting us have our most wanted update. I also have a complaint and want to clear this with everyone who might run into this problem. I downloaded the 4.7 Desktop software from blackberry.com and when I ran the program it tried to upgrade my device firmware to 4.5...well after trying this for hours and getting halfway done I would get stuck on 191 of 295 or whatever the count may be. So I am going to assume after 3 fatal errors that blackberrys 4.7 software doesnt know the difference in carriers, and that it will try to update any 8330, yet fail, because somehow Alltel has a lock on the update continuing on the phone.
Sounds crazy to me, but that's just the way it works when cell phone companies want to make us wait.
Now am I downloading Alltel's required version of the desktop software which is 4.3...which makes no sense but thats my choice. And I will also assume that when I go to update it will say that I have 4.3 OS on my handheld and that it is up to date, yet it isn't...
This is irritating.
Am I "up to date" as far as my knowledge and research goes?

I don't think so.
1. That error-ing out in the upgrade could be the reloading of the calendar or contact database, not the OS. Can you discern when the error occurs?
2. Alltel doesn't require OS 4.3, but it does come loaded. You can upgrade to ANY other carrier's release of OS 4.5 for the 8330 and be fine. Alltel even had 4.5 up on their download site for a short day, and retracted it for some unknown reason. But the OS is working fine on the 8330.
Read this thread, and follow the instructions exactly as written and in order as written and you will be fine performing the upgrade manually.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Schedule the program as a background job in transaction SM36 ---> Define Background Job
In SM36 you can find push button Start condition in that u have Date/Time Push button click on it. Specify the date and time when you want to schedule the program to run.
Now below you can find a push button Period values click on it here you get another pop up Period values.
As you want to schedule for every 3 to 4 minutes click on Other period push button.
Here you get another pop up Explicit period values now specify the time minutes field as per your requirment and click on OK.

I came to know Bapi_Saleorder_Simulate can be used for availability check and update an existing sale order.but there is no sample program explaining the process.I have tried this by passing parameters ORDER_HEADER_IN , ORDER_ITEMS_IN ,ORDER_PARTNERS and ORDER_SCHEDULE_EX(for getting details),also i have assigned the sale document number ,custom document type(ZSO) in ORDER_HEADER_IN . while executing the BAPI I am getting the error external number range is not assigned for the document type ZSO . I am confused on seeing this error. It is possible to do availability check for existing sale order using this BAPI. Please explain how to achieve this.It will be really helpful if it is expalained with an example.

Hello, I think you may have been misinformed about this BAPI updating a sales order at item level. As far as I understand it this BAPI can be used to simulate the creation of a sales order which obviously would include and ATP check. This is why it is giving the error because it is simulating creation but you are entering a value in a field that should be automatically generated (i.e. the sales order number). For change the sales order at item level have you looked at BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE? I pretty sure this BAPI both updates sales order (header or item level) and can do an ATP first.

Custom Page Size Printing Error Since Updating to Mavericks

Can anyone help me please...
iMac 10.9.4, with Adobe CS4 suite and Adobe CC Suite installed.
I have recently updated to Mavericks and since the update my custom page sizes no longer print at 100%, custom sizes all get scaled down (i presume to fit sheet) and leave me unable to print jobs out at correct size.
The custom page sizes work for builtin apps such as Preview, but my CS4 suite no longer work correctly. I have also tried using Acrobat CC and that gives me the same issues too.
I have googled the problem but have not found a solution and it seems i am not alone either.
Please help as this is rendering my ability output as useless.

This problem is from all Adobe CC & CS4 products i use: indesign, illustrator, photoshop, and acrobat.
My main staple work process is using pdf exported from indesign then printed using acrobat.

Customizing AM Images & Facing Problem in Update & Deploy War files

Hey Guys!
This is Yash Bansal from Gurgaon, India. i am new to access manager. i am now customizing it and facing problem in customizing.
I have customized images which is present in directory path:
opt/SUNWam/web-src/services/images/
and updated services.war file which is present in directory path:
opt/SUNWam/war/
with command
jar -uvf services.war /opt/SUNWam/web-src/services/images/login-backimage.jpg
then deployed configuration from the web server 7.0 admin console.
after that when i open the url
http://<hostname>/amserver/console
then Page Not Found error comes in the browser.
Just wanted to ask you guys am i doing the steps right. please help if someone know how to update and deploy war file on Sun Web server 7.0.

Hi!
Deploying the configuration does not (re)deploy the application. Webserver stores a copy of the deployed application and all configurations in the admin instance. When you change anything in the webserver console it is first written there and only applied to the productive instance when you deploy configuration.
When you add images, jsps or something else to /opt/SUNWam/... and want it redeployed you have to use amconfig command. in /opt/SUNWam/bin there is a file called amsamplesilent. You have to fill the values in this file and then use
./amconfig -s amsamplesilent
I believe for a redeploy you have to set DEPLOY_LEVEL to 21, not sure here, check documentation.
I personally usually do not redeploy for images and such, I simply copy them directly the deployed location.
Why http://.../amserver/console does not work anymore, I have no idea. But at least after a redeploy it should be there again.

Custom Toolbar from Macro is not updating when Macro is updated

I have a Word template 2010 (.dotm) that has a macro that originated at least 2007, if not earlier. There is a Customized Toolbar with Drop downs in the Add-ins tab populated from the Macro that contains a list of names. The drop down values have stopped
updating as additional names have been added. I can get the individual names to appear in the QAT but that is not what we need. How do I get the Drop Downs in Customized Toolbar to update so that the new names appear under the drop down as specified

Easily customizable toolbars were a feature of Word 97-2003 that corporate IT departments complained about. MS eliminated them, giving us the QAT instead. Such a toolbar never would have been automatically updated.
You can modify your toolbar using Word 2003. Otherwise, you can learn to do it using vba. I've never had the patience.
You can create custom ribbon tabs which are both more powerful and useful using XML (not through the Word 2010 program directly).
Customize the Ribbon (It doesn't take rocket science)
You may also want to explore the use of AutoText and Building Blocks.

Custom Forms : Attachment field cannot be updated.

Custom new/edit form is created using the "New" button under Forms sections of Lists and Libraries in SharePoint Designer 2013. No additional customization has been done. (consider it performed on a simple custom list).
Files are attached using this form and the item is attempted to save with validation errors (example: Title column empty). The attachments disappear and an error message is displayed on top of the page "Attachment field cannot be updated."
This issue occurs even with SharePoint Online. Is there any solution?

Custom UITableViewCell: Recognizing which cell to update

Hello,
I have created a custom UITableViewCell in IB with two UIButtons and one UILabel. What I would like to do is have each button perform an action on the UILabel - lets just say change the UILabel's text for now. I have the following set up and everything works.
MyViewController.m/h
_ Has UITableViewCell property and IBOutlet connected to MyCustomTableCell
_ Has two IBAction methods to handle each UIButton pressed
MyCustomTableCell
_ File Owner set to MyViewController
_ Has tags denoting each item
_ UIButtons events are connected to the custom methods in MyViewController.m
Just as a test, I have populated 3 rows in the table. When I hit either UIButton from any row, it only updates the last row's UILabel text. The method that handles the UIButton's event is something like:

UILabel *myLabel = (UILabel*) [customLoadedCell viewWithTag:1];
myLabel.text = @"button one";
How do I recognize which row the button's event came from so I can only update that label?

The first line allows to get a reference to the UITableViewCell I tapped. If I needed the row number I could reference it by doing this:
NSIndexPath *ip = [self.tableView indexPathForCell:(UITableViewCell *)[[sender superview] superview]];
ip.row will return the row number.
self.tableView is the reference to the table view.

Custom propertie's values are not updated for workflow metadata

I've a requirement where I need to add and update some properties. to /etc/workflow/instance/<Instancename>/data/metadata node.
I've two workflow Process steps,
Process step 1:
    Adds some properties to metadata.
Process step 2:
    Updates the propertie's values which are added in Process step 1.
But the issue is update is not working when the node is /etc/workflow/instance/<Instancename>/data/metadata.
i.e. In the step 1, Properties are added to metadata node but In the step 2 propertie's values are not updated to the same node.

The code works fine when the node is payload/jcr:content.
Note : Process 1 and Process 2 code is same expect the values I'm passing to the PersistableValueMap.

Customer Review on CS 5.5 Update, Will Adobe listen to 'em ?

Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 - EXPENSIVE & without substance
When I upgraded to 5.0, I paid $400. Okay, all the programs EXCEPT Acrobat Pro were updated. Adobe sent an old version. I called them. Sorry, they said, you only get the old version. I mentioned that I had paid for a full upgrade. Sorry was the response.
I was pretty annoyed. When I pay so much for an upgrade I expect it to be a full upgrade.
Adobe then announced it would do interim upgrades as well as full upgrades. They announced 5.5. Okay, I purchased 5.5 for another $400. I called them previous to this and asked why I had to pay another $400 to get a 5.5 version when I already owned 5.0. They indicated that that's how it was and they would be putting out interim upgrades every 1 1/2 years. Okay, this came out a little less than a year after 5.0. I mentioned this. The Adobe Rep had nothing to say. Fine. I installed the upgrade and to my surprise, only a couple of programs were upgraded to 5.5. The rest were updated only to 5.1. I called Adobe and they said, sorry, that's how it is. Fine. So now, I pay another $400 for a half upgrade and I don't even get a full set of programs.
I installed. Errors in the installation. I called Adobe. Bad disks they said. Try it on another machine. Fine. I did and it installed ok. Bad disks? hmm.
I now started processing some jobs. I created a PostScript file from InDesign. Instead of instantly creating this file, it took almost 20 minutes. That was odd. I went to Distiller to Distill. That took way longer than normal as well. Ok. now that I know, I'll just allow extra time.
I looked at the epub export from InDesign. hmm...easier than the 5.0 version. Super. I set up an epub, then went in to Adobe Digital Editions to open it. Oops, no table of contents, even though I had created one. I guess nothing much changed from 5.0 to 5.5 in this functionality.
Speed of processing has always been a problem with InDesign, since they use the kludgie Adobe Illustrator interface. Golly, with these versions running so slow, it's going to take me even longer to process my jobs.
Now, keep in mind that I do use InDesign, but three things will keep me from using it actively. 1. COST, 2. SPEED 3. FUNCTIONALITY.
The cost thing is the worst. I just can't afford Adobe's prices. The operation speed is horrifically slow. The functionality, well, some of it works but not what I'm trying to do.
How Does InDesign Compare to Other Software?
Slow Operation, Considerably more expensive. Lack of efficient functionality in electronic formats and web formats.

It seems that you have proven that you can afford Adobe's prices or else you would not have paid them.
My head is spinning from the cluelessness presented in the first section of your post but I see you might have a reasonable concern in the latter half regarding the functionality of software.
You have the option of posting full details of your problem in that specific software forum... or you can rant here in this general design forum with no effect on anything.

Upgrading a customized bpel worklist application after patch update

Hi,
We have a customized worklist application running developed on SOA 10.1.3.1. Now that we are migrating to version 10.1.3.3. I have 2 related queries:
1. Is there any documentation on whatsnew in the worklist application provided by oracle as part of SOA suite 10.1.3.3. (When doing a file compare on the code, I find quite a few changes but I would like to know if there is a whatsnew feature list by oracle)
2. I would also like to know the best practices to migrate the customized worklist application to take advantage of the new features if any of the worklist application provided with SOA suite 10.1.3.3
Help on this is really appreciated.

Hi,
The worklist application is customizable but you are running into the biggest problem when you customize it. There is no predefined way to migrate your worklist application to the new version. If you only made changes to the user interface the best way to upgrade is to apply the changes you made to the 10.1.3.1 version also to the new 10.1.3.3 version (by the way i would certainly upgrade to 10.1.3.4 instead of 10.1.3.3 since you plan on upgrading anyway). This problem is exactly the reason we decided to build our own worklist application based on the api's that are also being used by Oracle's version of the worklist application. In most cases (until now) the api definitions are not that different. If you also made lots of changes to the application jsp's and code you have to merge them with the new version which will be a lot of work but i am afraid there is no other solution.
