Allways online issue

Hi,
I had this issue recently, where I always appeared online, even know I wasn't. After switching all my devices off, I was still visible online. This caused a lot of confusion with my employer, as I work from home and skype is our main way of communication.
I took those extra 20 min.of my life to actually debug this thing and get to the bottom of this and here is what I found!
To be short ->
Skype "offline" mode doesn't change your status on their server, so make sure you go "invisible" before logout!
Extended version->
The problem is, that when you go "offline" it doesn't change your "status" on their server and you are left in whichever status you were before that. If you were "online" you are going to stay "online" after you log out, if you are "away", you will still be seen as "away" after you "quit skype" and so on.
That's why you should make sure you switch your status to "invisible" before logging out, so noone could see you!
No matter if you "sign out" or "quit skype" or just change your status to "offline", you get the same result, which probably means, that system calls the same function to log you out. That would mean it's an easy fix for skype people!
If I'm right, then I'm not sure why some people don't have this issue, maybe it is specific to metro skype version, as I think that is where my problems started!
I hope I helped someone today!
I look forward to skype update where this issue is fixed and hope Microsoft will give me a cookie for guiding them to the cause of issue, that so many people have since they took over skype.

same problem. thanks for advice.

  • Delivery delayed possibly because of Exchange Online issue with DNS check

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/newthread?category=microsoftonlineservices&forum=onlineservicesexchange
I'm troubleshooting extremely late (3+ days) delivery emails FROM a domain hosted by Microsoft TO systemid.com.  Microsoft Remote connectivity analyzer
https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ shows that it cannot get MX record for systemid.com.  HOWEVER, other tools like Mxtoolbox (http://mxtoolbox.com/) shows the
    MX lookup is successful.
When sending FROM Google / Yahoo to the same email address at systemid.com, the emails go through right away.
I was able to reproduce the issue by sending an email FROM my personal Hotmail email to systemid.com.  The next morning I got a delayed Delivery Status Notifcation:
    Reporting-MTA: dns;BAY004-OMC1S14.hotmail.com
    Received-From-MTA: dns;BAY169-W65
    Arrival-Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2014 11:38:10 -0700
    Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected]
    Action: delayed
    Status: 4.4.7
    Will-Retry-Until: Thu, 2 Oct 2014 11:38:17 -0700
I think the root issue is that Exchange Online does not like something about MX record for systemid.com, although other tools say the MX records are fine.
Can you see why emails from Hotmail or one of your Exchange Online customers cannot reach systemid.com although emails from Google / Yahoo go in just fine?  Please PM me if you need the name of the domain hosted by Microsoft or an email address at systemid.com
    for testing.

If you open a service request via your O365 tenant, and explain the issue, they'll respond quite quickly.
I've created some tickets at O365 support for about the same problems in the past, and you usually get a call from an EOP/EO engineer the day after.

  • Project Online, Issue with creating projects from EPTs (with workflows)

Hello, I am using Project Online. I am not able to create a new project based on the "Software Development" EPT. I get following message: Sorry, something went wrong An unexpected error has occurred. TECHNICAL DETAILS Troubleshoot
issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation. Correlation ID: 29b2b89c-607f-1000-80c2-80bbbb7ff088 Date and Time: 15.09.2014 03:57:25.
    Any ideas what went wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Martina

The reason for this behavior was the following:<o:p></o:p>
The currency of the PWA settings have been changed.<o:p></o:p>
Looking into the queue of the EPT we found the following hint:<o:p></o:p>
    Project:<o:p></o:p>
    ProjectCurrencyConflict (23001). Details: id='23001' name='ProjectCurrencyConflict' uid='f1850fb3-c53c-e411-9a1e-00155d58393b'.<o:p></o:p>
After changing back to settings "Allow projects to be published in various currencies" the workflow works fine.<o:p></o:p>
Nevertheless this issue is not clear for us why it appears after a currency change in the workflow. Maybe a sleeping bug?<o:p></o:p>

  • Loading PowerBI workbooks in Excel Web App / SP Online issues

I have a number of PowerBI reports hosted on Office365 through SPOnline.  These workbooks are viewed using Excel Online.  I am travelling through the Netherlands at the moment and none of the larger workbooks (¬20mb) and above will
open, though they worked fine in my home server location (Asia).  The smaller workbooks still open fine.  I get a "connecting taking too long" error from the Excel Web app.  I hope that this issue gets resolved as I would
expect these BI solutions to be available to global users no matter where they're hosted from.

Ryan, is this still an issue?

  • Myriad of SharePoint Online Issues This Morning

    Hello,
I am having issues with SharePoint this morning and was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues.
Everything was working fine over the weekend, but this morning we're experiencing these issues:
1 - Nothing on the ribbon loads. When you click on something (Page, Publish, List, Item, etc...) it just displays "Working on it..."
2 - Search Results Webparts are not loading/displaying. CQWP still load fine.
3 - InfoPath forms are not displaying. Neither the link to the form itself or the form webpart display.
4 - Submissions into lists aren't functioning. We have a request calendar. No one can complete/submit any additions or approvals.
5 - The "Edit Page" from the gear cog isn't working. I cannot edit any pages on the site.
6 - External lists are not loading/displaying. BDL Webparts with external content load fine.
7 - Items with ellipses are not popping up the additional menu to edit, view, etc... Nothing happens when you click on them.
I have tried on IE9, IE11, Chrome, and Firefox and all have the same issues. I put in a ticket with Microsoft around 2.5 hours ago with no contact so far. This is critical to our environment, I would hope something like this would be escalated in their support
    system.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

Search isn't working for me, images aren't loading, etc.

  • Offline - Online issue

    Hi All,
Application runs perfectly fine in online mode.
We have installed POS server and client on different machine.
Now if we remove the network cable for testing offline mode , application hangs and need to restart the client and then application works fine in offline mode.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Media Manager - offline to online issue

Hope someone can help with this issue.
first for reference here is my work flow.
I copy the timeline sent from my client into a new project. from there I media manage the timeline to create an offline so that I can conform the show in hd.
The problem I am having is that on some reels for example there are 10 clips to capture but when I go to capture them fcp tells me that there are 20 clips to capture. This is adding time to my conform.
Has anyone else had this issue? And is there something I'm doing wrong or could do to correct the issue?
    Regards;
    Rocky

You'll need to give more information.
What makes you think there are only 10 clips?
Do you count the cideoclips only? Are there maybe cuts in the audio that you need to take in account?
Did you check the Reelnumbers in the browser columns?: Are there clips of which you think they come from different reels, but in the browser thay accidently have the same reel name?
Is it always 2 times the amount you expected. (You said 10 becomes 20. Is this always doubled, or is it sometimes 10 clips become 18? or 23?)
If the former, then you might have your system settings set to capture Audio and Video to different files, which will double the amount of Captured clips from the masterclips

my skype show "I is not present" when my phone goes to sleep for others, and would like it to stay online. if possible. I realize it will use more power and traffic?

Your presence should show as "away" when you are logged in on Android, but Skype is in the background or your phone is asleep.  We are evaluating how people want to use presence to let friends know whether they are reachable or not across desktop and mobile devices and are looking to improve our current model.

Maybe put that on the top of the 'PACKAGE LINK' you auto re-direct BT ! grrrr

Welcome to the forum. Glad to see your problem was temporary but why don't you pay by direct debit, which will do the job automatically and cost less? Avoid the Monthly Payment Plan (same amount each month) like the plague as it's awful, but paying monthly by Whole Bill Direct Debit (8 days after the bill) works very well plus you only get one month's charges in advance instead of three.

  • Online issue with the radio

I can listen to the radio on the internat but after 30 min off it shut down and i have to reset why? help anybody

Audition works internally on wave files, so it converts the mp3 to wave as it loads.
Here is what I think is happening. A 16-bit wave file uses just over 10megabytes per minute, so a 3.5 hour stereo wave file will be just over 2 gigs in length.
The maximum length of a wave file is 4 gigs. If the wave file is recorded at a bit depth of 16 bits, it will fit into a single wave file, if it is recorded as a 32-bit wave file it won't.
Internally, I understand that Audition can work with wave files larger than 4 gigs, although I cannot vouch for this. If this is the case, I would expect that if you set the session parameters to 44.1kHz, 16-bit, and then loaded in the mp3 file, it might work. If the session file is set to 32-bit, it wouldn't.
What I don't know is whether the session parameters can be or are altered by whatever the headers of the mp3 file are reporting.
The bottom line for me is that you need to think about dividing up a 3.5 hour program into smaller files for editing within Audition.
It would be useful to have a definitive guide to this ffrom Adobe.

  • Hybrid Search not working from SharePoint 2013 Online to SharePoint On-premise

    Hi,
I have setup a SharePoint 2013 Hybrid environment setup with the following –
    Windows Server 2012 R2
SharePoint Server 2013 with April 2014 CU
    SQL Server 2014
ADFS 3.0 using SSO with Web proxy and DirSync
SharePoint 2013 Online tenant on Office 365 Enterprise Subscription
I have configured the Hybrid following the article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj838715(v=office.15).aspx and configured Hybrid Search. The hybrid environment was working fine including Search both ways initially
but after upgrade to April CU 2014 (along with upgrade to SQL 2014 from SQL 2012), now search from SharePoint online to SharePoint in-Premise is not working anymore.
I am still able login with the federated IDs in both the environments and get results from SharePoint Online in SharePoint in-Premise environment.
I have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps mentioned at
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn518363(v=office.15).aspx
Now every time, we perform a search in our SharePoint Online site, which is configured to show hybrid results from SharePoint in-premise, we don’t get results from in-premise and instead we see the following error logged in SharePoint
    In-premise Web Server –
Error - An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: Exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' was thrown. Parameter name: value.
And ULS log shows the following – Even though the message seems apparent that there could be duplicate users in user profile Application, but that’s not the case. There are just 2 unique users added there.

    Any ideas?
    Anupam Shrivastava

I am experiencing the same issue. Don't have the answer yet about what's wrong exactly. And my SSO works fine too.
I know precisely what makes the SharePoint throw the ArgumentException, but I can't yet figure out how to influence this behavior. I will respond back if I find out, but I hope the following will create an "aha moment" for someone.
So the SP Online issues an OAuth request to the on-prem SharePoint. If verbose logging is on for the Claims category, you may see how it reads these claims. One of them is this:
    Claim['nii':'urn:federation:microsoftonline']
Using this claim and the nameid claim the profile mapping logic then reports the following immediately before the error (Set User Profiles to verbose to see this):
Creating encoded sid for nameid '100300008b29cb02' and nameidissuer 'urn:federation:microsoftonline'
Inspecting this logic with Reflector, I can see that it then attempts to infer the identity provider type from the nameidissuer, and throws the exception, because "federation" is not what it expects. It expects either "windows", "trusted" or "forms" for
    the provider type.
So the user's actions to lead to this error were as follows:
    1. I connect to the Office 365 portal, and get redirected to my ADFS server (same domain for the ADFS server, on-prem SharePoint, and the user accounts).
    2. I log on, and from the SP Online portal I issue my search query using a result source configured as per the Hybrid TechNet guidance.
So thanks in advance for any suggestions, on what it could be.

  • CDP and DeltaCRL locations expiring on Issuing CA

This has been a crash course in PKI and I am taking over for a previous sysadmin which has made it even more interesting. I'm hoping that you smart folks can help me
to better understand my configuration so that I can correct an issue with expiring/expired locations. Otherwise, I fear I might bugger it up even more.
    Overview:
Offline Root CA - 2008 R2 SP1 - Not joined to the domain.
Online Issuing CA #1 - 2003 R2 SP2 - Joined to the domain (was supposed to be retired, I believe). I don't see any issues with this server.
Online Issuing CA #2 - 2007 R2 SP1 - Joined to the domain (was supposed to replace #1, I believe). This one has items that are expired/expiring.
I had a call that a user was receiving a certificate error when trying to connect to our MS Lync server, and when I checked the Online Issuing CA
#2 server, I notice a pile of expired/expiring locations. I did a bunch of searching/reading and came to the conclusion that I would have export a new Root CA cert from my offline Root CA (Right-click Revoked Certificates, All Tasks, Publish the .CRL), manually
copy it over to the online Issuing CA (C:\Windows\System32\CertSRV\CertEnroll), restart the ADCS service and then use the command Certutil -addstore -f CA cert.crl and
then update AD with Certutil -f -dspublish cert.crl.
That seemed to clear the expiry notices for the "Issuing CA 2 (V0.0)", but the following scrubbed screen shots are what I'm left with.
On the first, when the Root CA branch is selected, you can see "CDP Location #2 Expired". It expired last month. This is a HTTP location
(one of 2 HTTP locations that are present):
In the second, when the "Issuing CA (V7.0)" branch is selected, you can see a bunch of items expiring:
The AIA locations and CA Certs themselves won't expire for 19 more years.
I'm uncertain as to why we have 2 Issuing CA branches under the Root CA (V0.0 and V7.0?), and very curious as to what I am missing or what I may have
done incorrectly to have expired/expiring items remaining.  I realize that the MMC snapin isn't totally reliable, so I'm looking for ways to verify the integrity of PKI across the domain and be sure that I haven't messed anything up. I would also like
to retire the old CA, but want to make sure I decommission it in such a way that there is no impact to the production environment.
Any insight would be more than appreciated.

Can you check again which physical directory is associated specifically with CDP #2 and if you copied the new CRLs there? Any directory could theoretically be used as a CDP - so you need to check the virtual dir in pkiview.msc or the Issuing CA's cert.,
and then find the corresponding dir in IIS Manager.
One thing to note: A CA creates more than one CRL if it had been renewed once with a new key. I f you run certutil -crl at the Root more than one file is created in the local CertEnroll directory (CA.crl, CA(1).crl etc.) How many
CRL files have been created at the same time are in the Root's CertEnroll directory?
You need to publish all those files to all CDPs (also holds for ldap). In case you copied a single CRL file to the web server - is one of the others maybe missing? Compare the file suffix of local files and the URL referred to in pkiview.msc
    - is it CA.crl, CA(1).crl in both cases?
If it is really the same web server and same file and OK in the local directory but expired when retrieved over HTTP I can only imagine it is an odd DNS / caching / proxy etc. issue.

  • Online Certification Authority "Select" greyed out IIS with 2008 R2 PKI

I have built a two tier 2008 R2 PKI with an offline Root CA and an online issuing CA. The domain is a 2008 funtional level.
From a 2008 IIS server on the same domain, I have tried to Create a "Domain Certificate" so I can implement an internally self signed web server. On the first screen, I am able to enter all the details under "Distinguished Name Properties", but when I go
to the next screen, "Online Certificate Authority", the Select button is greyed  out next to "specify Online Certifcation Authority" . The only online articles I have found say this indicates that something is wrong with the CA,
    but not what.
I have checked everything with PKIview and the CA looks healthy. I have also run the BPA for certifcate services and the BPA for DNS and no problems are shown.
I have checked that the certifcate template for Webservers I have created and looks okay and have been able to manually send a web server request to it on the CA and install it on the webserver.
I am also able to successfully autoenrol user and machine certifcates within the domain and use this for 802.1x Wireless authentication.
Any pointers in would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Iain

Open Certification Authorities MMC snap-in, expand root node and select Certificate Templates (this node is available on Enterprise CAs only). Click Actions -> All Tasks -> New -> Certificate template to issue.
Note that IIS server *machine* account must have Read and Enroll permissions on this template.

  • xsl:if test="ddwrt:IfHasRights(16)" no longer working in a New form

    Hello all -
We have a list with some fields hidden for normal users, but approvers have edit access to these fields. The list has been working fine with the new, edit, and view forms all working as expected for over a year. BTW, this is on a Sharepoint Online site.
Somehow, over this last weekend, although no changes were made to any of the forms, the New item form no longer works, but rather comes up with an "unable to display this web part" error.
So, in doing some troubleshooting, I created a new form for the list and confirmed that the new default form works fine. I then added in just the code for hiding a field and immediately the form came up with the "unable to display this web part"
    error.
Is this functionality no longer supported?
btw, here's the code I tested in the new form:
    <xsl:if test="ddwrt:IfHasRights(16)"><tr>
    <td width="190px" valign="top" class="ms-formlabel"><H3 class="ms-standardheader"><nobr>Entry Status</nobr></H3></td>
    <td width="400px" valign="top" class="ms-formbody"><SharePoint:FormField runat="server" id="ff8{$Pos}" ControlMode="New" FieldName="Entry_x0020_Status" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff8',$Pos),'Value','ValueChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Entry_x0020_Status')}" /><SharePoint:FieldDescription runat="server" id="ff8description{$Pos}" FieldName="Entry_x0020_Status" ControlMode="New" /></td>
    </tr>
    </xsl:if>
Also, quick note that I double-checked to make sure that there was no other field on the form with ff8 already.
    TIA
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I have reproduced when I use this function for a field of a list from SharePoint online site, however it couldn't be reproduced from SharePoint on-premise.
Not sure if SharePoint online update causing this, since we cannot check the ULS log according to the Correlation ID, I would recommend you post this issue in Office365 SharePoint Online forum via the following link, you can get a better assistance
regarding SharePoint Online issue and there may be possible to involve the back-end support engineer to look into the issue.
