ALM Roadmap questions

Hello All,
Does anybody on the forum have knowledge of what sort of timescale there is for ALM handling Creative Suite licenses?
I have a client currently using Q***k xP***s on a pooled license. They are desperate to move to InDesign but only on the condition that they can use the concurrent licensing setup they currently enjoy with their existing setup.
If they were to purchase CS2.3 now on a volume license deal would they be able to migrate these seats to ALM in the future?
Any input appreciated.
Regards,
Liam Southwood

Liam,
Quick answers to your two questions.
Q1>>> "I have a client currently using Q***k xP***s on a pooled license. They are desperate to move to InDesign but only on the condition that they can use the concurrent licensing setup they currently enjoy with their existing setup."
A: The short answer is yes (however, if they're currently using QxP they are using QLA, which only supports Quark products).
Q2>>> "If they were to purchase CS2.3 now on a volume license deal would they be able to migrate these seats to ALM in the future?"
A: CS2.3 does not implement ALM for volume licenses. There will be important announcements regarding CS3 volume licenses and ALM in the next few days. Stay tuned.

Juan-Carlos

  • ALSB Product Roadmap question

    Hi,
Am curious if the ALSB product roadmap includes support for Web Services Notifications and Web Services Resource Framework anytime soon ?
    Both are OASIS standards.

Unfortunately this is currently not a supported configuration. A domain must contain a single ALSB cluster. This is something we are looking to improve in the future.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 Roadmap Question

I was looking at a preview on Lynda.com for Flash Builder Burrito presented by James Talbot.  Near the biggining of the Welcome message he talks about how this is a beta product and targets Android.  He also said that by the time the product is released, it will target Blackberry and iOS as well...is that true?
That really would be a game changer...not having to choose which platform to target.
    Mark

    See this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr22IXMMguA&hd=1
I'm sure enhancements of that kind will arrive in next Burrito build, but it's in a private beta now.
It's usually a good thing to follow Flash on fb: http://www.facebook.com/flashplatform

  • Adobe FormsCentral RoadMap/Life Expectancy - Planning for Critical Business Use

Adobe FormsCentral is quite a nice little interface to use, however my worries lie in it functionality for businesses that may try to rely on it to record critical day to day movements.
I plan to commit some time to building such tools and love the ease of use with FormsCentral but I worry that what we have may be all we can expect because it is essentially built with a dying IP... Flash...
I would love to see a feature roadmap in order for me to make a stronger commitment to Adobe vs Formstack - I would eventually have 35+ users in one building alone subscribing to adobe but Formstack seems to be the way to go (viewing results on both iOS and Android devices etc).
Is there a roadmap to at least guarantee the life expectancy of Forms Central?
Is there something more concrete we can look forward to as far as mobile technology goes?
Our business operates on a mixture of both Apple and Microsoft machines and iOS/Android mobile devices - Me, I have more OS X/iOS device than i do windows/android.
If I had of known about Formstack, I probably would've gone with that before he adobe product as the features are more promising - Any feedback would be great!
    Thanks!!!

    Hi Colin,
We'll try and answer your technology and roadmap questions

  • Cisco Jabber 10.5 call pickup feature - just for added contacts?

    Hi everyone,
we are checking out the new Cisco Jabber for Windows client. The call pickup feature is the best new feature so far.
The only issue we are running into: as we are using global pickup groups devided by office we now see every call coming in for everyone.
I would suggest that it would be much better if you could choose, for which group of contacts you would like to enable the call pickup.
Is there a roadmap for this in the future of Jabber call pickup feature? Would be a very appreciated Addon.
    Thanks & Cheers!

  • Tighter Integration with Active Directory User Groups

    I just wrapped up a Jabber deployment with IM&P 9.1(1) and J4W clients 9.1(3).
The customer asked me if it is on Cisco's roadmap to allow groups in Active Directory to be pulled into the Jabber client.  The primary business case is to allow those in IT to send out IM blasts to the corporation or certain departments.
Obviously, this would require a significant amount of development and a much tighter integration with Active Directory, but I need to ask anyway.
Has something like this been identified and placed on any roadmap?
    Thanks,
    Matthew Berry

  • Ask the Expert: Integrating Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) 1.2 for BYOD

With Eric Yu and Todd Pula
Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions  about integrating Cisco ISE 1.2 for BYOD with experts Eric Yu and Todd Pula.
Cisco Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is an end-to-end architecture that orchestrates the integration of Cisco's mobile and security architectures to various third-party components. The session takes a deep dive into the available tools and methodologies for troubleshooting the Cisco BYOD solution to identify root causes for problems that stem from mobile device manager integration, Microsoft Active Directory and certificate authority services, and Cisco Enterprise Mobility integration to the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
Todd and Eric recently delivered a technical workshop that helps network designers and network engineers understand integration of the various Cisco BYOD components by taking a deep dive to analyze best practice configurations and time-saving troubleshooting methodologies. The content consisted of common troubleshooting scenarios in which TAC engineers help customers address operational challenges as seen in real Cisco BYOD deployments.
Eric Yu is a technical leader at Cisco responsible for supporting our leading-edge borderless network solutions. He has 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry designing data and voice networks. Previous to his current role, he worked as a network consulting engineer for Cisco Advance Services, responsible for designing and implementing Cisco Unified Communications for Fortune 500 enterprises. Before joining Cisco, he worked at Verizon Business as an integration engineer responsible for developing a managed services solution for Cisco Unified Communications. Eric holds CCIE certification in routing and switching no. 14590 and has two patents pending related to Cisco's medianet.
Todd Pula is a member of the TAC Security and NMS Technical Leadership team supporting the ISE and intrusion prevention system (IPS) product lines. Todd has 15 years of experience in the networking and information security industries, with 6 years of experience working in Cisco's TAC organization. Previous to his current role, Todd was a TAC team lead providing focused technical support on Cisco's wide array of VPN products. Before joining Cisco, he worked at Stanley Black & Decker as a network engineer responsible for the design, configuration, and support of an expansive global network infrastructure. Todd holds his CCIE in routing and switching no. 19383 and an MS degree in IT from Capella University.

    Hi Antonio,
Many great questions to start this series.  For the situation that you are observing with your FlexConnect configuration, is the problem 100% reproducible or is it intermittent?  Does the problem happen for one WLAN but not another?  As it stands today, the CoA-Ack needs to be initiated by the management interface.  This limitation is documented in bug CSCuj42870.  I have provided a link for your reference below.  If the problem happens 100% of the time, the two configuration areas that I would check first include:
On the WLC, navigate to Security > RADIUS > Authentication.  Click on the server index number for the associated ISE node.  On the edit screen, verify that the Support for RFC 3576 option is enabled.
On the WLC, navigate to the WLANs tab and click on the WLAN ID for the WLAN in question.  On the edit screen, navigate to Security > AAA and make sure the Radius Server Overwrite interface is unchecked.  When this option is checked, the WLC will attemp to send client authentication requests and the CoA-Ack/Nak via the dynamic interface assigned to the WLAN vs. the management interface.  Because of the below referenced bug, all RADIUS packets except the CoA-Ack/Nak will actually be transmitted via the dynamic interface.  As a general rule of thumb, if using the Radius NAC option on a WLAN, you should not configure the Radius Server Overwrite interface feature.
    Bug Info:  https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuj42870
For your second question, you raise a very valid point which I am going to turn into a documentation enhancement request.  We don't currently have a document that lists the possible supplicant provisioning wizard errors that may be encountered.  Please feel free to post specific errors that you have questions about in this chat and we will try to get you answers.  For most Android devices, the wizard log file can be found at /sdcards/downloads/spw.log.
As for product roadmap questions, we won't be able to discuss this here due to NDA.  Both are popular asks from the field so it will be interesting to see what the product marketing team comes up with for the next iterration of ISE.

  • Migrating an existing application to Cocomo

We've developed a business application that uses a
synchronised data model, live webcams, recorded video, interactive
apps. We use Flex for the client, and FMS/.Net for the servers. We
currently put about 150 users per week through a 3-hour session
using the app, and we need to scale up rapidly as our expectation
is to double that in Q2 and double that again by year end. So it's
    a mature and mission-critical app.
I can see that a port of this app is feasible using Cocomo,
but it would change our business model, deployment platform and
staffing needs, so I'd like to find out how we'd establish an
appropriate relationship with Adobe around the Cocomo product. I
have some basic technology questions around scaling and
capabilities, but beyond that my questions involve a better
    understanding of Adobe's roadmap.

  • Prime Collaboration Provisioning with 2008R2

Is anybody using Prime Collaboration Provisioning with a 2008R2 AD and doing LDAP authentication?  Trying to set it up here, and getting an error of:
    Error Message:
Login to the LDAP server failed. Please check the  credentials. ldap://10.4.0.X:389
The documentation mentions AD 2000/2003/2008 as supported, Active Directory guys say that 2008R2 had quite a few changes to AD functionality.  Can anybody from Cisco speak to whether AD 2008R2 or 2012 will be supported in CPCP 10.0?
We also have an ACS server we can use, just trying to avoid having to create 30-40 accounts for remote field guys in our ACS if they already have LDAP accounts that work for all their other authentication.

  • Problem running Youtube on new iPhone4

Unpacked my new iPhone4 yesterday and all works great. Connected to my inhouse Wifi B/G/N network and that also works fine, except for the default Youtube app on the iPhone. Searching and finding videos no problem, but when I select a video to display, the screen turns to landscape to display in max display, but while loading the video, a popup displays "De bewerking kan niet worden voltooid" (=dutch, english transl: "The procedure cannot be completed". This happens for any and all videos, so very frustrating for a new user ...
No ports seem to be blocked on my firewall (ports 80 and 443 open) and no error messages explaining further ...

  • Smart Call Connector Advanced

Hi, im just wondering when we can expect an update to Smart Call Connector Server and Advanced Clients?
This software is in need of some serious bug fixes...and feature enhancements!

Indeed, but roadmap questions and questions related to when a new product release will be published are matters that cannot be discussed in a public forum. That's why you need to reach your AM, also to submit a PER you need to do so via AM.

  • Re: future UCS server models for UCCE post-release 9

    Hi,
My customer is currently in the process of deploying UCCE 9.5 release on UCS C220 server model. They were asking what's the typical life cycles for our UC on UCS servers such as C220, C240, C260 etc. so that when the next releases (UCCE 10, 11, etc.) of UCCE systems become available, if they can still be run on the same C series platforms.
I know this is a roadmap question, but it will be great to have some general guidelines about our life span of UCS servers for UCCE.
    Thank you!

Awesome!!  Thanks for the heads up. Just downloaded and we are planning to upgrade during next MSCU cycle (May 13th).  I'll let you guys know how it goes.
It doesn't look like there is a new driver ISO available.  Normal download location has only the 1.4(1g) release listed.  Is that still the most recent driver bundle?
