ALM, special containers for CCMS

Hi,
We are looking to configure some specific alerts using the Alert Framework that will be generated by the CCMS. We already configure the Method that uses the FM SALO_SEND_ALERT_TO_ALM, the method is already assigned to the MTE and also we defined an Alert Category. So far the alert is working if we use dynamic text and if we receive the alert on an email, but we have a problem with alerts received on a pager or cell phone, we just received a short text without any meaning about the problem, just the alert ID problem.
We are looking for two things, even to improve the description generated for a SMS message, something more meaningful using the dynamic text of the alert category or stop using the dynamic text and use containers to generate a more meaningful message for both SMS and email type of alerts.
Somebody knows how this can be accomplished, which are the correct containers (ABAP Dic references or Data Types) that I can use to created a customized message based on the source of the CCMS alert.

There may be enough for you already without applying SP 12 and using the new auto-reaction method. (Although I am actually trying that myself and having my own issues).
Have you defined the variables available in note 796998?
This is how I have it:
SUBJECT_ALERT:        SAP Alert: $SID $OBJECT $ATTRIBUTE
SUBJECT_ALERT_CONT:    $CONTEXT
And this is what would appear in an SMS (I don't have SAPConnect set up for SMS but the alert inbox 'Short text' tab displays what gets sent for SMS):
SAP Alert: SMP SAPCCM4X.SERVER539.00 Availability CCMS_Selfmonitoring
These are the variables available in note 796998:
$SID          System in which the alert occurred
$NODENAME     Complete name of the monitoring node where the alert occurred (context, object, attribute)
$SEGMENT      Segment name of the monitoring node (= $INSTANCE)
$INSTANCE    Segment name of the monitoring node (= $SEGMENT)
$CONTEXT      Context name of the monitoring node
$OBJECT      Objekt name of the monitoring node
$ATTRIBUTE    Attribute name of the monitoring node
Of course, the responsibility rules method mentioned by Thomas will be better (once I get it figured out).

Have Adobe Standard CS 5 (Student), and would like to upgrade to Creative Cloud (Non-Student) - won't accept my serial number for special pricing for existing users

I currently use Adobe Standard CS 5. It was bought with the Education discount. I would like to upgrade to Creative Cloud and see that they have special pricing for existing customers that use past versions of Creative Suite. I am no longer in Education, so I will have to buy a full version. This is fine, but it won't accept my serial number for the discounted pricing. Is there something else I should be doing?

A Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install. It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install. In that case you don't need to install any. At some point you may read about a plug-in and what it can do and feel you have a need for it. Then you will have a reason to install a plug-in that is not installed by default. There may also be a cost involved most worthwhile plug-ins are not free.
Adobe Optional Plug_ins downloads are Plugins Adobe want to remove from Photoshop and no longer install by default. Also at some point in time these will no longer install into the current Photoshop for Adobe will remove feature or interfaces the use. For example the CS5 optional plugins will install in Windows CS6 perpetual version 13.0.1.3 but not in Subscription version 13.1.2 or perpetual Mac version 13.0.6 fot its 64bit only and the Mac CS5 optional plug-in for Picture package is only a 32bit plug-in.
You will need to keep and maintain old versions of Photoshop if Adobe remove features you use in new versions of Photoshop.

This freezing reminds me of really old Macs, long ago, in the days of the old-school peripherals like SCSI drives, terminators, scanners and the like. If you had a SCSI conflict, like the wrong device ID's or something, you'd freeze up like that. Back in those days you'd call 800-SOS-APPLE (AAPL?) and they'd run you through disconnecting all your extra hardware - Jaz and Zip drives, CD burners, scanners etc and then eliminate them one by one by adding them incrementally and testing for the freeze/bomb dialog.
But, today we have Firewire and none of those ancient issues (no free lifetime tech support either). My iMac's ports are all full, and I only know which devices are connected when I have to remove something for another device. iSight, scanner, card reader, external hard drive, USB soundsticks, etc. You wouldn't happen to have any SCSI devices hooked up, would you?
Out of curiosity, have you tried a different USB/Firewire port for the hard drive? Or run the hardware test DVD that comes with your computer? This weird freezing seems to suggest a problem with the computer, RAM or network more than a device. Bad devices, in my experience, cause kernel panics, not freezing.

Is there a Special Character for the number of pages in a document?

I'm creating a template (in cs6) for a series of documents of variable length, and each document needs to be numbered with the format, "page A of Z." I see the special character for inserting the current page number (A) and I'd like to have the number of pages in the document (Z) added automatically as well. Is there a wildcard, special character, or script that will accomplish this? I'd rather not have to enter the number of pages manually as the value will change as these go through the editing process; I'd prefer to have the numbers update automatically. Has anybody done this before?

Your first suggestion is the only way to capture the last page of a book that's comprised of independent document files. The last page number text variable works only within a single document.
Anyone who wants a last page in book text variable badly enough can post a feature request at Wishform.

PDF PRINTING using Apache FOP and Oracle Containers for J2EE

Hi,
I am having major confusion about the pdf printing in Oracle XE and Apex 3.1.2.00.02
It clearly states that this is an available option on the Oracle website.
According to Apex there are two options for printing report regions.
Standard - which is free
Advanced - which uses BI and requires a licence
Standard requires me to have Apache FOP (which is provided by Oracle in the Apex release) and Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)
Where my understanding of all this falls down is the part where I am downloading the Oracle Containers for J2EE and the license agreement states this cannot be used in a production system (only as a protptype). Can anyone clarify this? This is surely a required componenet and for the standard report printing which is supposed to be free.
My problem is that I need to have a database system on a laptop that will go off site for a number of weeks. We need report printing options.
Can anyone help with this. im desperate.

no not yet with Application Server.
I have tried to compare the settings to another installation with a separeted oc4j as described in the howto. But at the moment i found no mistakes.
If i call the url adresse like:
http://localhost:18101/fop/apex_fop.jsp
i get:
500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: fop.apex__fop
I installed it another time with these settings:
Web Anwendung= .../fop.war (selected war file from apex install directory)
Anwendungsname= fop
URL zuordnen= /fop
I would like to know if its possible to use the fop.war out of apex install directory with the Application server? In the standalone version (as described in howto) it works. But if you install it there you don't need to define an URL.
Is the URL /fop correct or what do i have to insert there?

Query regarding auto e-mail notification for ccms

I want to configure auto e-mail notifications for ccms alerts.
I have configured ccms monitoring for our landscape on the solution manager.I went through the SAP documentation and it mentions that we have to do the SCOT settings and CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2 method settings in client 000.But we already have the SCOT config done in 100.
My question is can i complete the rest of the config in 100 or i have to do everything in client 000 only.

No Shashank. I dont think this is required. You need not have to redo everything in 000 client.
You only have to create the user in 000 client.
Might be you have to create an RFC connection between your 000 client and the 100 client. I will confirm this to you tomorrow or so. Make sure the user has required authorizations in 000 client.

I choose to use LP9 with Snow Leopard myself (10.6.8 and 9.1.6) for most of my commercial work simply because I find that combo very stable and provides the best overall performance for my setups here... but I am also using LPX with Mavericks as part of my client support and that works fine too although with a drop in performance due to the heavier demands made on the hardware by the newer OS X and LPX graphic routines for example..

As already indicated TREX is a required component of the SAP CCM 2.0, even in the scenario where the search functionality would not be used (i.e. in a scenario of just navigating the hierarchial structure and selecting items) the TREX is still a requirement for publishing and indexing of the published data.

Query to see all BP's with a special price for an item

I'm currently still learning the product and have been tasked with finding this out, so please bear with me and let me know if there is further information that is required.
I have a customer running SAP B1 2007 who wishes to produce a report detailing all of the BP's that have a special price for an item.
Therefore it would ideally show the item number, all BP's who have a special price and what that price is.
Is there a standard report that can be run for this? Or would a query have to be defined?
Any help would be appreciated.

SELECT ItemCode,CardCode,Price FROM OSPP ORDER BY ItemCode,CardCode
above simple query to cater your need.

Special fields for FAGLL03

I need to add Purchase order, vendor, vendor name, customer, customer name and ar invoice field as a special field for FAGLL03.
I am able to add vendor, customer and purchasing number fields but I am not able to find name field for customer and vendor. Also I was not able to find ar invoice field.
Any help will be apprecaited.

Hello Mark,
Here at our side this has been implemented this way. You will need ABAP consultation:
1) Create an append structure in RFPOS structure with the new desired fields;
2) You will have to use a BTE to implement the exit. Ask the ABAPer to create a new Z function module based on existing SAMPLE_INTERFACE_00001650.
3) Through transaction FIBF, Menu Settings -> Products -> ...of a customer, you should create a code to identify the customization. Lets say FIN01. Don't forget to click on checkbox field to activate the business transaction event.
4) Through transaction FIBF, Menu Settings -> Modules P/S -> ...of a customer, you should create an entry to assign the Z function module with the product. Something like below:
Event Product Ctr. Appl. Function module
00001650 FIN01 FI-FI Z_INTERFACE_00001650

Below are the brief points on the scenario's that you just asked to be described.
A1:- SPL screening done during transfer itself i.e. immediately or synchronously for GTS business Partners against all SPL files
A2:-SPL screening done during transfer itself i.e immediately or synchronously for GTS documents for partner addresses against all SPL files
B1:-Periodic Screening done against all SPL files for GTS Business Partners
B2:-Periodic Screening done against all SPL files for GTS Documents for Partner Addresses
C1:- Periodic Screening done aagainst Delta SPL files for GTS Business Partners
C2:-Periodic Screening done against Delta SPL files for GTS Documents for Partner Addresses
Apart from these, there are other scenarios as well. Which are as follows.
S1:-SPL screening done during transfer itself for GTS business Partners against all SPL files but in simulation mode
S2:-SPL screening done during transfer itself for GTS documents for partner addresses against all SPL files but in simulation mode
These above 2 are similar to Scenario A1 and A2 but in simulation mode.
But I am not sure about the C3 scenario asked above. Probally other experts can put a light on it.
