Almost all Access Connection controls grayed out

Hi folks,
Could use some help. I have a T-60 and Access Cnnections 4.23a. Worked fine until recently and now most contrals are grayed out. For example, in manage profiles I cannot create, edit or delete.
I can switch profiles and I do connect, but even items like update AC are grayed.
These kind of things scare me a bit. I am loathe to uninstall or update manually as I have a number of connections and cannot even view them to copy before I try and I would hate to try to remember the ssids, passwords, etc. And worse, chance losing connectivity.
Can anyone help here?
If it comes down to removing AC, I have not used windows networking in so liong I forget how that functions. Can I make all these profiles in Windows? Will it switch automatically (my favorite feature of AC)?
Thanks.
~Bob

  • All the files are grayed out in iTunes

My iPod died a few days ago and it was replaced (5G 30GB). I’ve connected the new one to iTunes on my computer (WinXP pro) and all the files seemed to transfer correctly to the new iPod. In iTunes, however, it you select the iPod on the left, all the files are grayed out and you can’t click on them. With my old iPod you could. I also noticed a little locked symbol down at the bottom to the right of where it shows you how much space is left on your iPod hard drive. I’m guessing that the new iPod drive is somehow locked. I can’t find anything in iTunes that controls this. Is there a way to unlock the iPod drive so you can click on the ipod files in iTunes?
    Asus P4C800   Windows XP Pro

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. For more detail see this tutorial: Managing Your Songs Manually
One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

I tried all suggestions fo a grayed out wifi toggle and nothing seems to be working. Any other suggestions?

I had this problem last month.  I ended up having to get a new iPhone 4S.  It's a very, very common problem and in my opinion it should be covered by Apple for free since it is so popular and is an obvious hardware defect especially in the iPhone 4S.
So I suggest you order a new iPhone ($230 with no warranty) ($50 with Apple Care+).  And while you wait for your new iPhone to come you could back up your iPhone and try some of the YouTube fixs.  I put mine in a plastic bag (off with no air in the bag) in the freezer for 30 minutes, pulled it out, turned it back on, let the iPhone thaw out in the bag, and it then worked again for over a week before it died again.  But I would only try that if you knew you had a new iPhone on the way.  My cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth all went out so I had nothing to lose.

In many cases, they are related, I have many users who have reported the repair of QuickTime fixed the issue.

  • "reset all warning dialogs" button grayed out

LR 2.7 on XP. Sometimes LR seemingly changes what I've set without me changing it, unless I accidentally hit some shortcut key. I was using it today, and it was warning me as usual before I deleted an image. Then it stopped. When I go to Preferences, the "reset all warning dialogs" is grayed out. I tried closing and relaunching LR twice, and changing something else in that preferences tab then resaving it, but it is still grayed out. I want the warning back so that I don't inadvertently delete more photos than I meant to.

Did you delete an image from a folder or from a collection?
When you delete from a collection you only remove the image from that collection, not from Lightroom's catalog. And of course, the file is not deleted from disk.

  • Accessibility 508 issue in Acrobat; accessibility controls grayed out

Hi - I have to check PDF's in two different versions of Acrobat.  On my one computer, the accessbility functions work great.  Then when I went over to my other office on my laptop, I tried checking the accessbility and all of the same controls on the other computer were grayed out.  I'm pretty puzzled by this so I'm not sure if the laptop computer has some kind of persmissions blockage (I do this work for a government agency) or what.
Below is a side by side screenshot of the two computers' versions of Acrobat
Can someone tell me why those controls are grayed out and what I need to do to turn them on?  Thanks.

Hi - thank you for your reply.  One strange thing about this situation is on both of these computers, the Abrobat icon says "Pro" for both of them.  That's why I was so puzzled about this because although they appear to be version X and XI, they both said Pro but only one allows me to do accessibility.  Strange.

  • Why are the adjustment layer controls grayed out?

I have used an adjustment layer in CS5 and when it was first used I could adjust everything.  Now most of the controls have grayed out and whilst I can slide the sliders I can not type figures in nor use the radio buttons!  Why has it locked me out?  It has happened on a few images and with both Colour Balance and Hue and Saturation Layers.
The image above shows the problem with the top Colour Balance layer where I can not select Shadows or Highlights, nor type in figures for the sliders BUT I can slide them and change the tick on Preserve Luminosity!  The basic image being edited is an 8-bit RGB file.
Adding a new adjustment layer (Colour Balance) on top of this one initially showed the same problem but after adding 3 more new adjustment layers suddenly eveything came back to fully working again - even the original problem layer!
This problem keeps happening with some of my images.  It is happening on all 3 of our photoshop PC's, so it looks like a basic PS bug.  Has anyone else seen this or know why it happens?

Thanks for the suggestion but that has no effect on them being grayed out or not.  When this problem occurs it does not matter if the Mask is highlighted OR the adjustment itself.
    But thanks anyway.
I am currently without the issue on the above example having removed the problem by adding additional adjustment layers and removing them again. Even if I now select just the adjustment mask I can still access ALL adjustment controls without problem.
But it will occur again as it has done over the last few months on a random basis.  Hopefully someone else has seen this occur and found a solution?

  • Why is the volume control grayed out?

    Hi,
I am attempting to record from a Sony ECM-MS957 mike that is connected to my iBook with a Griffin iMic onto GarageBand3.
I am following the "Learn to Podcast" tutorials from Apple. With the Sony mic connected the volume control in the track info window is grayed out. If I un-plug the Sony mic and use the built in mic the volume control becomes active.
I have the iMic selected in the System Preferences and the volume indicator responds to the mic. The iMic is also selected in the GarageBand preferences.
Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong here.
    Thanks

  • Vi with 'show diagram' and other controls grayed out

Two of my vi's are acting differently - many features are grayed out. The Vi Properties Security tab shows the Locked (no password) option is selected. All the Vi Properties are grayed out, so I can't change that. How is modified?
    Thanks. This is LabVIEW 6.1.

That did not work. I am getting new errors (after editing some of the subvis)
    VI Error:
There is not enough memory to compile this VI.
    Details.
You need to make more memory available for LabVIEW to generate the code for this VI.
    VI Error:
There is a problem with a subVI but this VI has no block diagram.
    Details.
This VI has a bad connection to or cannot find a subVI or external routine, but it has no block diagram to show or fix the error. You must find or correct the subVI or external routine. Check for more information in the Explain... dialog in Get Info.

  • Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected, is 'Grayed Out'?

Itune 11.0..2. / iPhone 5 / Backups > iCloud / Options > 'Grayed out', (not available?) "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected". Why is this grayed out?

This one was odd:  it stopped after the first sync was finally completed--had to interrupt several times to use the phone away from the computer before all the music and photos were fully reloaded.  Now it waits appropriately for next sync.  This is probably why no one else had seen this or replied.

  • All sogs on ipod grayed out in iTunes

    Greetings.
After connecting my iPod to a pc the iPod is updated with songs but all songs are grayed out and can not be selected or played in Itunes. Not sure why this happening or if I should expect it to happen but thought I'd ask what might be causing this.
    Thanks.
    alan

Matt, they're grayed out and the lock is shown when you have your iPod set to Automatic updating in iPod Options, the default. If you wish to set this process to Manual, they won't be gray and the lock will go away.
Automatic updating makes the iPod/iTunes experience much better, however, in my opinion.

  • No Audio - A/V Controls grayed out

Video tutorials on my new PaintShop Pro wouldn't play until I downloaded QuickTime Player. They play now but there is no audio. I tried the instructions on the QuickTime Player Help page: "1.choose Window > Show A/V controls 2.Drag a slider to adjust the setting"
I can't drag a slider because everything is grayed out.
My system audio is working fine. I tried restarting the computer. Any other suggestions?

What codec is the file you are trying it on? Are they greyed out for a Apple sample QT movie?
If you don't have Core Image then they don't work at all: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301589

  • New CVS connection option  grayed out

Fresh install of Jdev 10.1.2 (Windows). CVS server running with pserver connection. CVS set as source control in jDev (Extensions -> General -> Versin Control).
On Connection tab, if I Rt. Click on CVS Server, I can see the "New CVS connection" opion, but it's grayed out.
    Any ideas?

My guess is that you don't have a cvs client in your path. So if you typed cvs on the command line it would return the 'not recognized...' message. JDeveloper didn't get a built in cvs client until 10.1.3.
If you make sure that cvs, preferably a CVSNT version, is in the path then the option will become enabled.
    Thanks,
    Geoff
